Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 1/19, 10:08 AM CT
The Mets avoided arbitration with Jeff Francoeur by agreeing to a one-year, $5 million deal, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.

Our View: Francoeur was able to re-define himself after moving to New York last season, hitting .311 with 10 home runs in 75 games with the Mets. He's always possessed fine potential and could be ready to re-assert himself as a legitimate fantasy outfielder in 2010.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 11/13, 2:02 PM CT
The Mets plan on bringing back Jeff Francoeur for the 2010 season, according to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post.

Our View: He is arbitration eligible, though apparently the Mets might be considering a longer term extension for the impatient right fielder. Francoeur hit .280 with 15 home runs and 76 RBI between the Braves and Mets in 2009.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 10/2, 9:46 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur performed well in tonight's 7-1 win over the Astros at Citi Field, as he went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer off Wandy Rodriguez. His other two knocks were singles.

Our View: Francoeur hit .308 in September, and homered in two of his last five games. He benefited from a fresh start in New York after falling out of favor in Atlanta.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 9/27, 2:45 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI on Sunday, helping the Mets to a 4-0 win in Miami.

Our View: Francoeur is now batting .313 with nine home runs and 39 RBI in 69 games with the Mets. Odds are, he will be back in right field in Flushing next season.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 9/25, 9:33 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur led the Mets in tonight's 6-5 win at Florida, as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. He hit a single and a three-run homer off Ricky Nolasco.

Our View: Francoeur has two hits in each of his last two games, and snapped a 20-game skid without a homer. He has 13 homers for the season, which is the most since 2007, when he crushed 19 with Atlanta.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 9/19, 3:15 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur had a nice offensive day for the Mets on Saturday as he helped his team to a 3-2 win over the Nationals. Francoeur went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI in the win.

Our View: Francoeur has been very good since coming to New York in a trade, and he looks to be in the Mets' plans for next season. He is still an outstanding defensive player, and he can be an asset to any team when he is hitting.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 9/11, 9:22 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 in tonight's 4-2 loss at Philadelphia. He hit a double and a pair of singles.

Our View: Francoeur recorded three hits in each of his last two games, but does not have any RBI over the span.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 9/2, 10:55 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur hit his 12th homer of the season in the Mets 5-2 loss to the Rockies on Wednesday. It was his only hit in four trips.

Our View: Frenchy now has seven homers and 30 RBI in 47 games since joining the Mets. Compare that to his five homers and 35 RBI in 82 games with the Braves and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where he's been more productive.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 8/29, 6:04 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Mets 11-4 loss at Wrigley Field on Saturday.

Our View: Frenchy has done exactly what the Mets hoped he would when they traded for him - revived his career in Flushing Meadows. In 44 games with the Amazins, he now has 7 home runs, 28 RBI and a .312 average.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 8/24, 12:19 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur is not in the Mets' lineup for their Monday afternoon game against the Phillies. Gary Sheffield started in left in place of Francoeur, who is dealing with a thumb injury.

Our View: Apparently Francoeur's thumb swelled up overnight, and he was sent for an MRI on it this morning. We will keep you updated on Frenchy's status when the results are released.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 8/24, 9:32 AM CT
MLB.com is reporting that the X-rays on the injured left thumb of Jeff Francoeur came back negative. Francoeur injured the thumb in the ninth inning of Sunday's game while diving for a ball in the outfield.

Our View: The thumb injury wasn't serious enough to keep Francoeur from hitting into the game-ending triple play, so he should be fine going forward. He has been good since joining the Mets, and he may be experiencing a bit of a career rebirth in the Big Apple.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 8/21, 11:02 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 and hit a solo home run in Fridays 4-2 win over the Phillies.

Our View: Francoeur has been very good since joining the Mets and is hitting over .300 with 6 homers and 23 RBI since landing in the Big Apple. He has just 35 RBI in almost three times as many at-bats in Atlanta this season.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 8/11, 11:46 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur clubbed his tenth home run on Tuesday night, but it went for naught, as the Mets lost 6-2 in Phoenix.

Our View: Francoeur now has five home runs and 20 RBI in his month with the Mets, and is slowly re-emerging as a fantasy option.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 8/9, 7:47 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Sunday's 5-1 win at San Diego. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View: Francoeur has a hit in five straight games, and is hitting .324 over 34 at-bats in August. He is worth consideration in NL-only leagues while hot.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 8/2, 6:02 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sundy's 5-2 loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Our View: Francoeur has had a disappointing season, but since July 20th he's turned it on. He's jacked four homers and has 14 RBI since then and has gone hitless just three times.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 7/26, 5:04 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur followed up his four RBI game from Saturday with two more on Sunday, and the Mets routed the Astros for the second straight game, winning 8-3 in Houston.

Our View: Francouer's "change of scenery" from Atlanta looks to be having the desired effect, as he has 14 RBI in his first 12 games with the Amazins. After appearing dead in the water in Atlanta, Frenchy looks like he could be ripe a stretch drive pickup.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 7/25, 10:44 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in the Mets' 10-3 beat down of the Astros on Saturday.

Our View: Francoeur is having a nice month of July, hitting .300 with a pair of homers and 14 RBI. However, he's been a disappointment overall, hitting just .261 with seven homers.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 7/24, 10:44 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI in tonight's 5-4 loss at Houston.

Our View: Francoeur has six RBI over 10 games with New York, and is working out well after being acquired via trade from Atlanta.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 7/21, 8:45 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur had his second straight multi-hit game on Tuesday (and third in three games), but like every other Met, drove in no runs as John Lannan silenced the Amazins' bats with ruthless efficiency.

Our View: So far, so good for the Mets and Francoeur. However, he probably won't produce too much in 2009 since the Mets so rarely have baserunners and he's no longer a big home run threat.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 7/20, 8:33 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur led the Mets offensively in tonight's 6-2 win at Washington, as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. He hit a single, double and a solo homer off Logan Kensing.

Our View: Francoeur has a hit in three straight games, with four RBI over the span. He launched his first homer as a member of the Mets as well, and is benefitting from his trade out of Atlanta.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 7/18, 7:10 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur fared well against his former team in Saturday's 5-1 win at Atlanta, as he went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View: Francoeur is yet to hit his first homer as a member of the Mets, but chipped in five RBI over six games - with two coming in the three-game set against the Braves.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 7/11, 10:58 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur helped lead the Mets in tonight's 4-0 win over the Reds at Citi Field, as he went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View: Francoeur was solid in his debut with the Mets tonight, and looks to benefit from a fresh start in New York. Keep him active in fantasy lineups, namely if he was a regular contributor while in Atlanta.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 7/11, 4:27 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur is set to make his debut with the Mets tonight against the Reds at Citi Field, according to the MetsWFAN twitter page.

Our View: He will bat fifth in the order. The Mets acquired him in a bid to add much-needed power to their lineup. Employ him in fantasy lineups if you regularly did while a member of the Braves.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 7/10, 5:51 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, the New York Post confirms that Jeff Francoeur has been traded from the Braves to the Mets in exchange for Ryan Church.

Our View: Francoeur never lived up to high expectations in Atlanta, namely in power department, and should benefit from a new start with the Mets. The club is 5.5 games back in the NL East standings, and GM Omar Minaya will be hoping the acquisition of Francoer will help spark their run at the pennant.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 7/10, 5:18 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur has reportedly been dealt from Atlanta to New York in exchange for Ryan Church, according to David Lemmon's twitter page.

Our View: The Mets or Braves are yet to confirm the trade. Stay tuned for further updates.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 7/10, 11:43 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur will start in right field for the fourth straight game on Friday after losing lots of playing time to Matt Diaz recently, according the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Our View: Braves manager Bobby Cox said he wants to give Francoeur, who has struggled mightily the past two seasons, "another shot at this thing." He got off to a good start yesterday, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, but is not a fantasy option in any format.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 7/9, 11:11 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 7-6 loss at Colorado. All three of his knocks were doubles.

Our View: Francoeur was in need of a solid outing, as he held a .143 average over 21 at-bats in July heading into tonight's game. Perhaps being benched for three straight games has lit a fire under him to produce.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 7/6, 8:51 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur was benched for the third-straight game on Monday night, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Manager Bobby Cox continues to go with the hotter Matt Diaz ahead of Francoeur. Francoeur really only merits being owned in leagues that are the deepest of the deep at this point, and even in those you can't start him until he starts to play and prove he can hit.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 6/24, 9:55 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Yankees at Turner Field. He hit a single and a solo homer off Joba Chamberlain.

Our View: Francoeur ended an 18-game skid without a homer, and only has five for the season. He does have two hits in two of his last three games though.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 6/24, 3:49 PM CT
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman says the Royals could possibly be interested in Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur.

Our View: He doesn't say what the Royals might give up to get the struggling outfielder, but now would certainly be a good time to buy low on the former phenom. Not in fantasy leagues, however.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 6/24, 10:10 AM CT
No teams are interested in the Braves Jeff Francoeur according to FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.

Our View: Francoeur has seen his fantasy value dwindle to nearly zero, as well. Until he discovers plate discipline, and rediscovers his power stroke, he will not be a viable option at outfield in almost every format.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 6/15, 10:32 AM CT
The Braves apparently offered the Marlins outfielder Jeff Francoeur straight up for Cody Ross, but the Marlins declined according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: How the mighty have fallen. While he has put up better numbers of late, Francoeur appears to soon be headed out of Atlanta one way or another. Hopefully a fresh start can do the talented outfielder good.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 6/13, 9:29 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur hit well in Saturday's 8-4 loss at Baltimore, as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI. He had a double and a pair of singles.

Our View: He has six hits and four RBI over his last three games. Keep Francoeur active in fantasy lineups while he is swinging a hot stick.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 6/11, 3:42 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-3 and drove in the Braves only run in the Braves 3-1 loss to the Pirates on Thursday.

Our View: It was Francoeur's first multiple hit game since May 30. The former phenom continues to underwhelm, and has hit only four home runs on the season, putting him barely on pace to exceed the 12 he hit in 2008.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 6/9, 7:00 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur is out of Tuesday's lineup following Monday's 15-inning battle with Pittsburgh, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Matt Diaz will roam the outfield in his absence. Francoeur's legs are tired, and he went 1-for-5 in Monday's game.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 6/2, 10:14 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Cubs at Turner Field. The game took 12 innings to decide.

Our View: Francoeur snapped a 27-game drought without a homer, but collected two RBI in two of his last three outings.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 5/27, 9:57 AM CT
The Red Sox have reportedly been scouting Atlanta outfielder Jeff Francoeur, according to Yahoo Sports.

Our View: The Sox are looking for stability in the outfield as J.D. Drew and Rocco Baldelli have durability issues. Francoeur is yet to tap his power potential, but is hardly a bust as he topped 100 RBI twice over his first four seasons with the Braves.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 5/17, 2:45 PM CT
Sunday's contest between the Diamondbacks and Braves at Turner Field has been postponed due to rain, according to MLB.com.

Our View: A make-up date is yet to be scheduled. This marks the 13th rainout in Turner Field's history.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 4/24, 10:45 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur hit his second home run of the season on Friday in the Braves 4-3 win. It was a solo shot and his only hit in three official at-bats.

Our View: Francoeur also walked twice in this game, which is not his strong suit. He now has three on the season, but is putting up fine numbers elsewhere, especially in the batting average department. He's hitting .317 and looks to be rebounding nicely from a down 2008 campaign.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 4/19, 5:08 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur was 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI, and two runs scored as the Braves beat the Pirates 11-1 on Sunday.

Our View: The right fielder is off to a strong start this season and he has produced multi-hit games in five of his last seven appearances. He has only struck out five times through 48 at bats this season.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 4/17, 9:14 PM CT
Outfielder Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 on Friday against the Pirates, but the rest of his teammates managed only three hits and the Braves failed to score.

Our View: Frenchy has produced four multi-hit outings over the last five games, and we only wish the rest of the Braves lineup was producing at this point. It's nice to see him swinging well after a rough 2008.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 4/16, 2:12 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the Braves 6-2 loss to the Marlins on Thursday.

Our View: Francoeur is making much better contact at the start of the season, and it looks as if his offseason adjustments are paying off. If he can keep his focus and consistency, he will regain his solid fantasy status.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 4/12, 4:14 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs scored, and an RBI as the Braves beat the Nationals 8-5 on Sunday.

Our View: Francoeur has combined for just three triples in his previous two seasons, meaning there's no reason to expect games such as this from him. He raised his average to .240 and half of his hits have been for extra bases.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 4/4, 4:37 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-2 with a solo homer in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Tigers. His other hit was a single.

Our View: He raised his spring average to .328 and collected his second homer and 13th RBI. Francoeur is yet to tap his power potential, but topped 100 RBI twice in his career, and should be a nice value pick for the mid-to-late rounds of fantasy drafts.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 3/29, 3:59 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers. That marked his first home run of the Grapefruit League.

Our View: Francoeur is yet to reach the 30-homer plateau in a season, but topped 100 RBI twice, and is still only 25 years old.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 3/21, 4:21 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur had a 2-for-3 day on Saturday doubling and driving in three runs. He upped his spring average to an impressive .368.

Our View: He looks better than he did last year, but that's not saying much. Francoeur's solid spring so far is encouraging, but he's still a gamble if employed on a fantasy roster. That power stroke of his has evaporated an he won't command much value unless it returns.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 3/19, 9:52 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and a run scored in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Tigers. He also threw out a runner at home plate in the win.

Our View: Yes, Francoeur drew a walk, and he's hitting .343 this spring. He had a forgettable 2008 season and there's really no way he could be any worse this season. While he is in much better shape now than he was a year ago, there's concern that his once threatening power may be gone for good. He's certainly a gamble, and if you decide to add him to your roster, be sure not to invest too much in him.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 3/14, 3:16 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-2 with a run scored in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Cardinals. Both hits were singles.

Our View: Francoeur is yet to live up to his power potential, but he topped 100 RBI twice over four campaigns with Atlanta, and could be a nice late-round value pick due to his disappointing 2008 season. He is hitting .333 in spring action.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 3/11, 5:29 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur put together a rare productive day at the plate Wednesday, going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI and a run scored.

Our View: Francoeur was inexplicably miserable last season and should not be counted on as a reliable fantasy commodity. If you happen to be feeling psychic about a bounce back year, go ahead and grab him very, very late.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 2/19, 8:13 AM CT
The Braves have avoided salary arbitration with Jeff Francoeur by inking the outfielder to a one-year deal worth $3.375MM, according to MLB.com. He can earn an extra $25,000 in incentives.

Our View: Francoeur was a grave disappointment last season, and is only worth targeting as a reserve with upside to bounce back for 2009.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 2/12, 7:49 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur and the Braves do not look like they are going to be able to work out a new contract before his arbitration hearing on February 20, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Francoeur does not have leverage after a terrible year in 2008. He hit just .239 with 11 home runs and 71 RBI after averaging 24 homers and 104 RBI over the previous two seasons.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 1/27, 11:50 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur hopes improved fitness and a new approach lead to a better 2009, and he has one notable teammate in his corner. "Frenchy is going to hit cleanup for us this year," Chipper Jones confidently tells MLB.com. Francoeur put in a lot more work this offseason than he did prior to 2008. "I took a different approach last year going into [Spring Training], and it just ended up being a flop," he explains. "I put too much weight on and I didn't hit soon enough. I didn't throw soon enough. I think the first day I threw was the first day of Spring Training. Now I'm kind of going like I did in [2005 and 2006]. I'm going [to camp] to make the team and be in shape for when the first day of games come." Francoeur also has a slightly new batting stance that he says is close to the one used by Mark Teixeira.

Our View: There's no debating that Francoeur had an awful 2008, but we need to recall that he turned only 25 earlier this month and has tremendous physical skills. Pre-spring reports tend to sound peachy, but Frenchy is one of the cases where fantasy owners will want to pay attention. If he gets back to his 2006-07 form, Francoeur can be a solid starting fantasy outfielder.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 1/22, 8:57 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur is far apart with reaching a new deal with the Braves as he is asking for nearly $4 million in arbitration, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The club wants to offer him $1.15 million less.

Our View: Francoeur is yet to live up to high expectations as a cornerstone for their outfield, and set career lows in average (.239), home runs (11) and sluggling percentage (.359) in 2008. It was previously reported in December that the Royals were interested in acquiring Francoeur.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 12/9, 9:37 AM CT
The Boston Globe is reporting that the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves have had serious discussions about a trade that would send outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the Royals for pitcher Zack Greinke.

Our View: Current Royals GM Dayton Moore is a former member of the Braves organization and is eager to bring Francouer to Kansas City. The outfielder hit .239 last season, while the pitcher looked like a exceptional No. 2 starter.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 11/6, 5:41 PM CT
Despite rumors that he might be headed to Kansas City, Jeff Francoeur appears most likely to remain with the Braves after a club official said that there have been no internal discussions about moving the right fielder, according to MLBlogs.com.

Our View: Francoeur is coming off his worst season (.239-11-71), so trading him at this point makes little sense for the Braves who likely wouldn't get much in return. Francoeur is at that make or break point of his career, so success in '09 is of paramount importance for the rifle armed right fielder.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 11/5, 8:37 AM CT
The Braves are believed to be willing to trade outfielder Jeff Francoeur, and Royals' GM Dayton Moore is known to be a fan, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View: There is speculation that the Royals would not give up Zack Greinke for Francoeur, but may consider offering Luke Hochevar, Danny Cortes, or Mark Teahen in a deal.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 9/27, 9:19 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBI in the Braves' 11-5 win over the Astros.

Our View: It has been a tumultuous season for Francoeur, who was even sent down to Double-A to try and get his swing back. It will be interesting to see what the Braves will do with the local product in the offseason.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 9/13, 6:12 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mets at Shea Stadium. His hit was a single.

Our View: Francoeur racked up eight RBI over 11 games in September. He has been a grave disappointment this season, but looks to close out the season favorably.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 9/11, 9:56 PM CT
Even though the Braves won on Thursday night it was not a good night for Jeff Francoeur. A small army was left on base by Francoeur tonight, who stranded eight runners. Francoeur was 0-for-4, while striking out once.

Our View: It has been a rough year for Francoeur at the plate. His average is down to .232 and continues to slide, he is not worth being in your starting lineup.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 9/5, 9:12 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur left Friday night's game after being hit by a pitch on his hand.

Our View: We will update the once-fantasy-relevant Francouer's status as more is known. In fairness, he has recorded 63 RBI and 59 runs this season...despite hitting .231.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 9/2, 11:14 PM CT
A three-run home run was the contribution made by Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur in the Braves 16-14 win over the Marlins. He was 1-for-5 and scored twice.

Our View: Francoeur has been beyond bad this season, and his on-base percentage remains embarrassingly below .300. Fantasy owners should have moved on long ago.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 8/19, 12:55 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur has a quality match-up tonight when he faces off against Mets hurler Oliver Perez. Francoeur has a career .350 batting average against the lefty, with two home runs in 20 at-bats.

Our View: Francoeur has had an awful season, much to the disappointment of fantasy owners who used a relatively high pick on him. The outfielder has just a .203 average in August, but if you have him on your NL-only squad, tonight may be a good night to use him.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 8/16, 10:06 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur is on fire! He went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs, and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Giants. Francoeur also had three hits on Thursday.

Our View: Frenchy continues to have a nightmare season, and we're happy to report any signs of life in his bat.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 8/14, 9:42 PM CT
He's alive! Just when many fantasy owners had given up all hope, Jeff Francoeur puts in a great night with a 3-for-5 performance, featuring a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in the Braves 11-7 loss to Chicago.

Our View: Francoeur's season has been beyond awful, and his August was even worse, as he was hitting just .108 for the month before tonight.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 8/5, 12:06 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 0-for-3 with one RBI, as his season long struggles continue.

Our View: Francoeur been a major bust this season for fantasy players, and there seems to be no end in sight. Time to cut bait if you haven't already.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 8/3, 7:57 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur had a hit and an RBI on Sunday in the Braves 5-0 victory over the Brewers.

Our View: Francoeur has one home run in 40 games. How is that possible for a guy who has averaged 24 home runs the past two years? Francoeur is simply lost at the plate right now and is hitting only .217 over his last 16 games.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 7/24, 2:22 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Jeff Francoeur is available but it's not likely there are many owners that want him. He is batting .231 with a .286 OBP.

Our View: Francoeur's on-base percentage trails all but three Major League outfielders with at least 300 at-bats, surpassing only Oakland's Emil Brown (.287), Minnesota's Carlos Gomez (.282) and Houston's Michael Bourn (.282). Former Braves employee and current Kansas City GM Dayton Moore may be a potential suitor.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 7/10, 8:01 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur was 1-for-3 with a home run and RBI in the Braves loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday night.

Our View: Maybe Francoeur's miniature demotion to the minor leagues helped him get off the snide. He is still having a miserable season, though fantasy players should keep an eye an him to see if he heats up.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 7/7, 1:05 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur has been called back up for tonight's game in Los Angeles, and his minor league stint in Double-A lasted only three days, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View: He went 7-for-13 (.538) in three games with Double-A Mississippi, with a triple and two RBI. He was expected to remain there longer, but the Braves need him back following the injury to Omar Infante.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsFriday 7/4, 10:34 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur has been demoted to Double-A in order to fix his offensive maladies, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Francoeur has been completely awful this year, and has really disappointed fantasy owners. It's time to drop him and find somebody else for the outfield. Roster spots are too valuable to sit him on the bench and pray for the best.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 7/3, 8:49 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur, who is rumored to be on his way to Triple-A to work on his swing, went 0-for-4 in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Phillies furthering his chances of a demotion.

Our View: The Braves outfielder is hitting .234 with 41 RBI, 40 runs scored with eight home runs on the season. Fancoeur's June numbers were ugly (.200/.263/.300).
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 7/3, 11:05 AM CT
MLB.com reports that the Braves are contemplating whether or not to send Jeff Francoeur to the minors to work on his offense.

Our View: Francoeur has struggled all season but hit a new low in June posting averages of .200/.263/.300. Matt Diaz could return from the DL soon, which would make this move easier on the Braves.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 6/23, 8:51 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur was fitted Monday for a single contact lens for his right eye, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The outfielder's vision has deteriorated since he was struck in the face by a pitch while squaring to bunt in a 2004 minor league game, and he thinks it might be a cause for the large gap between his stats in day and night games. "We'll see what happens," said Francoeur, who wore the contact lens in Monday night's series opener against Milwaukee. "I'm near-sighted in my right eye a little since I had surgery [for multiple fractures of his right cheek and orbital bone around the eye]. I'm not making excuses, but I feel like I haven't been able to recognize pitches. I've only got to wear it at night."

Our View: Francoeur is a career .292 hitter during the day and a .267 hitter at night, though he was better at night last season (.301, versus a .273 average during the day). You've got to think the lens can only help, so why not give it a shot?

Manager Bobby Cox tweaked the Braves' lineup for today against the Rangers, and decided to drop struggling slugger Jeff Francoeur to seventh in the batting order, according to MLB.com. Cox said, "Just changing it around a little bit. With the DH, you can do this. It's just for today." Gregor Blanco is also batting leadoff today.

Our View: Francoeur is only hitting .221 over his last 31 games. He is also hitting .226 (19-for-84) with runners in scoring position this season, and has just two hits in 18 at-bats with the bases loaded.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 6/12, 6:24 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went deep for the eighth time this season on Thursday on his way to two hits and two RBI for the Braves.

Our View: Jeff was the Braves offense on this day as he produced their only two runs. He continues to do just enough to stay in most fantasy lineups, but his performance thus far still has to be considered disappointing.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 6/7, 8:18 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur continues to struggle along, a fact highlighted by an 0-for-5 night with nine runners left on base on Friday leaving Francoeur batting .237 with a .379 SLG over his last 50 games, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Our View: Francoeur has always been too much of a free swinger, and while the run production figures to be there by the end of the year, he will go through periods of extreme ineffectiveness because of his lack of strike zone control.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 6/4, 3:48 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Florida.

Our View: He now has 35 RBI this season, but is only hitting .254 with seven homers. He needs to limit his strikeouts, which currently stand at 39.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 5/29, 7:57 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur is only 3-for-18 since last Saturday dropping his average to .255, according to MLB.com. "I'm still working on some things, and hopefully I can start getting some consistency soon," Francoeur said.

Our View: Francoeur's slump actually extends out to the entire month of May as he is hitting just .235 with two home runs over his last 25 games. Even worse, the strikeouts have returned as he has 25 punchouts in his last 25 games after just seven in 25 April contests. He will produce runs, but the average will continue to fluctuate if he continues to swing and miss as often as he has over the past month.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 5/24, 5:49 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur won Saturday's game for the Braves with a walk-off, two-run shot off the D'Backs' Chad Qualls. He also singled earlier in the game.

Our View: Francoeur had just five dingers on the year after managing just 19 last season. His RBI total (32) is keeping his fantasy value afloat, at least.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 5/20, 8:15 PM CT
Atlanta outfielder Jeff Francoeur has been held out of action in the Braves' second game of the day, finishing a double-header with the New York Mets, according to MLB.com.

Our View: This is the first time since his rookie campaign in 2005 that Francoeur has missed a game, ending a Major League-best streak of 370 consecutive games. Francoeur has been battling soreness in his right foot and manager Bobby Cox wanted to rest him after a tough battle against the Mets earlier today (especially with wet and rainy conditions tainting the nightcap).
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 5/20, 5:12 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur's starting streak is over, according to the Atlanta Journal- Constitution. The Braves right fielder is not in the lineup for the second game of today's doubleheader against the New York Mets.

Our View: The Braves outfielder has started in 370 consecutive games dating to Oct. 1, 2005. He has the longest active games-played streak in the majors, and Francoeur could still keep that alive if he enters the 7:10 p.m. game in any capacity, be it as a pinch-hitter or defensive substitute.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 4/28, 3:27 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur now holds the active streak with 351 straight games played, as Grady Sizemore just had his leading streak snapped at 382 games due to a sprained ankle, according to MLB.com. Francoeur previously stated that he wants to play all 162 games for the third straight season.

Our View: He still isn't hitting as many home runs as his potential dictates, but he is enjoying a solid campaign nonetheless, with a .294 batting average over 25 games, with three homers and 19 RBI.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 4/23, 7:47 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur says he wants to play all 162 games this year for the third straight season, but his injured right foot may end up forcing him to the bench for a little bit of rest, according to MLB.com. "I'll just have to use my own common-sense judgment on him," manager Bobby Cox said. "[It's hard] because he's productive, and you want guys like that in there every night."

Our View: The pain has gotten pretty bad as Francoeur received a pain killing injection on Tuesday night, but he has vowed to play on as his 347-straight starts are the most of any NL player. So far it hasn't hindered his production as he is hitting .296-3-15 through 20 games.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 4/12, 4:38 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur hit two home runs on his way to driving in a career best seven RBI for the Braves on Saturday.

Our View: Francoeur is now hitting .298 with 11 RBI in 11 games for the Braves though he still has trouble laying off pitches with only one walk on the season.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 4/5, 6:36 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-5 with three RBI on Saturday to up his season average to .348 over 23 AB. Franceour saw his HR total dwindle to 19 from 29 last season, but his average went up .033 points while his OPS improved by .040. If he can cut down on his strikeouts while continuing to work the strike zone, Francoeur should have little problem producing his third straight 100-RBI season.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsTuesday 4/1, 10:49 AM CT
Rising star Jeff Francoeur only went 1-for-5 on opening day against Pittsburgh, but he collected his first home run, a solo shot off of F. Osoria, who went on to collect the win in a 12-11 game that went 12 innings. Francoeur has enough power to challenge 40 homers, and he is off to a good start in that department.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 3/20, 11:02 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur went hitless in three at-bats on Thursday. It was the outfielders first spring work since being struck his lip on Sunday in a game against the Cardinals. He swung at the first pitch he saw to begin the second inning and grounded out but never hesitated at the plate. Francoeur will try and build on his 19 home run 105 RBI season of a year ago.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 3/19, 2:58 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur aims to return to the field on Thursday, the AP reports. He was beaned in the face with a pitch on Sunday and sustained cuts inside his lower lip. "The outside feels fine, but it’s still a little rough on the inside," Francoeur says.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 3/17, 7:03 AM CT
After being hit on the left side of his face Sunday, Jeff Francoeur went for X-rays, which came back negative, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Scared the (crap) out of me," said Braves manager Bobby Cox. "I thought something had to be broken." He suffered only some cuts in his mouth, though he'll be examined further on Monday. Francoeur said he hopes to return to action on Wednesday or Thursday.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 3/16, 2:45 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur was hit on the left side of his face by a pitch during Sunday's game, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He had some cuts inside his mouth that might need stitches and was headed for X-rays, but it appears that he avoided serious injuries. We'll have more updates for you as they become available.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsMonday 3/3, 11:16 AM CT
The Braves have renewed Jeff Francoeur's contract for the 2008 season, MLB.com confirms. The outfielder was hoping to sign a long-term deal that would take him through his upcoming arbitration years.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 3/2, 8:04 AM CT
It appears unlikely that the Braves will be able to lock up Jeff Francoeur to a long-term contract before the regular season begins, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I think I've made it known to everybody I want to be a Brave," said Francoeur. "I want to be here a long time. It's also got to be right on both sides." GM Frank Wren said Saturday that the only recent talks have revolved around a one-year deal, so unless he's putting up a smoke screen or things change soon, that's probably all that will be worked out. At this point, Francoeur seems fine with working through his one-year deals until he can hit salary arbitration.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSaturday 3/1, 9:39 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur hit a three-run home run off right-hander Runelvys Hernandez on Saturday. It's early, but Francoeur is currently hitting .429 this spring.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsWednesday 2/20, 8:04 PM CT
Jeff Francoeur lifted a lot of weights over the offseason in an effort to add muscle and to help him get through the season without wearing down. "I feel good — a lot better" than last season, Francoeur said in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Frenchy said he gained 17 pounds over the offseason, and he plans on lifting weights four times a week during the regular season to maintain strength. He stopped lifting after camp last year. Francoeur improved his plate discipline last year but saw his power numbers dip. If we can get the best of both worlds from him, watch out.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsSunday 7/22, 6:42 AM CT
When Jeff Francoeur walked in the sixth inning on Friday, it gave him 23 this season, the same number he had all of last year, the AP reports. Francoeur's other numbers are solid enough, especially his 65 RBIs and .291 average.
Jeff Francoeur, RF, New York MetsThursday 3/15, 8:45 AM CT
Jeff Francoeur made an adjustment to his stance over the winter and his hitting .414 (12-for-29) this spring, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Francoeur said that staying lower in his stance has helped him stay back on balls longer. "I feel like I'm seeing balls a lot longer in the zone," he said. Despite the adjustment, the free-swinging Francoeur has yet to draw a walk this spring.
