Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 11/19, 12:25 PM CT
The Yankees are dangling Nick Swisher as trade bait, according to Bob Nightengale.

Our View: Swisher had a solid 2009 with a .371 OBP despite a .249 batting average. He hit 29 home runs and was one of very few Yankees who hit much better on the road than at home. There could be some interest in the switch-hitting outfielder.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 11/1, 9:26 AM CT
FoxSports.com is reporting that Yankees' outfielder Nick Swisher overhauled his batting stance after being benched in Game 2 of the World Series. Swisher was 2-for-4 in Game 3 with a double and a home run.

Our View: Swish was 4-for-35 in the postseason heading into last night's game, but he broke out in a big way. If Swisher gets going, the Yankees are going to be even tougher to beat.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 10/31, 3:58 PM CT
Nick Swisher is starting in right field for the Yankees in Game 3 of the World Series. Swisher will hit seventh in the order.

Our View: There was some doubt as to who would get the nod in right, but Joe Girardi decided to go back to Swish. We will have to see if he can break out of his postseason slump against Cole Hamels.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 10/29, 4:51 PM CT
Nick Swisher has been benched for tonight's Game 2 of the World Series against Philadelphia, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Swisher is struggling at the plate, and Jerry Hairston Jr. is slated to replace him in right field. Hairston is 10-for-27 over his career against opposing hurler Pedro Martinez.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 9/30, 10:12 PM CT
Nick Swisher performed well in tonight's 4-3 loss to the Royals at Yankee Stadium, as he went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer off Robinson Tejeda.

Our View: Swisher has a hit in four straight games, and swatted a homer in each of his last two. The former member of the White Sox proved to be a strong addition for New York this season, as he racked up 29 homers and 82 RBI.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 9/15, 10:41 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles in tonight's 10-4 loss to Toronto at Yankee Stadium. He also scored a run.

Our View: Swisher is hot, as he collected two hits in each of his last three games. He has 32 doubles, ranking third on the team behind Robinson Cano (41) and Mark Teixeira (39).
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 9/14, 9:46 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 5-3 win over the Angels at Yankee Stadium. He hit a double and a solo homer off Jered Weaver.

Our View: Swisher crushed his 27th homer of 2009, and remains on pace to reach 30 for the second time in his career. He has six homers so far this month.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 9/8, 9:37 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo homers in tonight's 3-2 win over the Rays at Yankee Stadium.

Our View: Swisher has a hit in five straight games, with three homers over the span. He has 26 homers for the season, which are the most he hit since 2006, when he launched a career-high 35 with Oakland.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 9/6, 5:14 PM CT
Nick Swisher kept up his torrid road hitting on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI, but couldn't keep the Yankees from getting blown out 14-8 in Toronto.

Our View: The switch-hitting Swisher is now hitting .284 with 21 home runs and 54 RBI on the road, while bafflingly batting just .200 with three bombs in the hitting haven that is the new Yankee Stadium. Sometimes, this game just can't be explained.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 8/31, 9:02 PM CT
Nick Swisher led the Yankees offensively in tonight's 5-1 win at Baltimore, as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. He hit a single, double, and a solo homer off Jeremy Guthrie.

Our View: Swisher collected his 22nd homer, with five coming this month. He also has five hits over his last two games, and hopefully he will remain hot for fantasy owners heading into September.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 8/22, 7:40 PM CT
Nick Swisher provided all of the offense for the Yankees on Saturday in their embarrassing 14-1 loss to the Red Sox. Swisher went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, a run scored, and an RBI in the game.

Our View: After an offensive explosion last night, the Yanks' bats were kept silent for the most part today. Swisher continues to hit well on the road, and he can help a fantasy squad when he plays. He won't have great value until he plays every day.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 8/5, 9:40 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-5 with a single and a solo homer off Marc Rzepczynski in tonight's 8-4 win at Toronto.

Our View: Swisher has a hit in eight of his last nine games, with four homers over the span. This is good for him while fighting for playing time in the Yankees' outfield.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 7/30, 11:30 PM CT
Nick Swisher hit a huge ninth inning home run to tie the game for the Yankees on Thursday, but the White Sox countered in the bottom of the inning to walk away with the 3-2 win. Swisher was 1-for-4 on the game with the solo shot.

Our View: Swisher's homer tied the game in the top of the inning, but the bullpen couldn't kee the Sox off the board in the bottom. Swisher still looks to be in a platoon situation with Eric Hinske in the outfield, but he is a decent offensive threat when he plays.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 7/27, 10:44 PM CT
Nick Swisher hit two home runs on Monday, his 15th and 16th dingers of the year.

Our View: Swisher hadn't hit a home run all July until Monday and hadn't even had a multi-hit performance over his past 14 games. This outing could be exactly what he needed to get his bat back going as he platoons with Eric Hinske in right field.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 7/11, 1:05 PM CT
Nick Swisher is out of the Yankees lineup on Saturday, according to Newsday. Eric Hinske will start in his place.

Our View: If you are still starting Swisher, be sure to sit him. After a hot start in 2009, he has cooled off considerably, and is no longer with an own in most mixed leagues.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 7/6, 3:54 PM CT
Nick Swisher pounded three hits on Monday as the Yankees fell to the Blue Jays by a score of 7-6. Swisher went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the contest.

Our View: Swisher isn't showing much in the way of average this season, hitting at .242, but he does have 14 homers and 43 RBI, which are both solid totals. He is a decent fantasy play, but don't expect many three-hit games like he had today.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 6/24, 9:51 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI in Wednesday's 8-4 win at Atlanta.

Our View: Swisher snapped a 12-game drought without a homer, and has 13 for the season. Mark Teixeira continues to pace the Yankees with 20 home runs.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 6/13, 1:42 PM CT
Newsday is reporting that Yankees' outfielder Nick Swisher is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets. Swisher is getting a day off and is being replaced by Brett Gardner.

Our View: No injury here, as Swish is just getting a day of rest. If you have another option you should use it, but if not Swisher should be back in the lineup tomorrow.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/8, 8:51 PM CT
Nick Swisher led the Yankees in Monday's 5-3 win over the Rays as he went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer. His other knock was a single.

Our View: Swisher has swatted a homer in back-to-back games, and has 12 for the season. He is swinging the stick very well so far this month after only hitting .150 in May.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 6/7, 3:45 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 1-for-2 with a solo homer off Matt Garza in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Rays at Yankee Stadium. He drew two walks as well.

Our View: Swisher continues to swing the stick well this month, after struggling in May with an anemic .150 batting average.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/1, 9:45 PM CT
Nick Swisher led the Yankees in Monday's 5-2 win at Cleveland, as he went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Both of his knocks were doubles.

Our View: Swisher extended his hitting streak to five games, with four RBI over the span.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 5/6, 8:48 PM CT
Nick Swisher was ejected on Wednesday night for arguing balls and strikes, according to The Star-Ledger. He went 0-for-3 to drop his average to .279 before the ejection.

Our View: Swisher is 0-for-9 over his last three games, and his .279 average is the lowest point his batting average has been all season. He should still provide plenty of power, but the average, and potentially his playing time (when Xavier Nady returns), could be in question.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 5/4, 11:27 AM CT
Nick Swisher could return to the lineup for Monday's game against the rival Red Sox, according to Newsday. He is nursing a bruised right elbow.

Our View: Swisher should be back soon, if not tonight. He is off to a solid start with a .312 batting average and seven homers over 23 games, and we will keep you posted on his status.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 5/2, 11:32 AM CT
Nick Swisher is not in the lineup for Saturday's tilt against the Angels. He took a pitch off the right elbow on Friday.

Our View: Swisher is day-to-day, and it's not too surprising he is not able to turn around and be ready for day game. We suspect he will return on Sunday.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 5/1, 8:01 PM CT
Nick Swisher left Friday's game against the Angels after being hit on the elbow by a pitch from Jared Weaver. He was replaced by Brett Gardner.

Our View: X-rays were negative and Swisher is listed as day-to-day. Watch for an update on his status for tomorrow's game.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 4/30, 9:27 PM CT
Nick Swisher was 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored as the Yankees beat the Angels 7-4 on Thursday.

Our View: Swisher had gone on a small strikeout tear recently, but he has avoided the whiff in his last three games while drawing four walks. When he is a patient hitter, he is a very dangerous hitter. Hopefully, he continues to exhibit patience and pays off for his owners.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 4/29, 9:18 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored in the Yankees 8-6 win over Detroit.

Our View: Swisher is playing everyday without Xavier Nady around and he is rewarding his owners. He is slugging .720 through his first 75 at bats with seven home runs, eight doubles, and 19 RBI. However, he may drop all the way to eighth in the order once Alex Rodriguez returns.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 4/28, 11:51 PM CT
Nick Swisher was 2-for-3 with a home run on Tuesday in the Yankees' 11-0 drubbing of the Tigers. He also walked twice and scored three runs in the game.

Our View: Swisher cooled off significantly after he tossed the famed scoreless inning and was hitting homers like they were going out of style in mid-April. It's nice to see him pick himself back up. His average is back above .300 now and the struggling Yankee offense could use another capable bat.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 4/14, 10:24 PM CT
One night after he threw a scoreless inning, Nick Swisher's torrid hot streak continued. He homered again in the Yankees 7-2 win over the Rays and added a double in four trips to the plate. The home run was his fourth.

Our View: Swisher has been an absolute beast this season. He now has four home runs and 11 RBI on the year and has 11 hits in 24 at-bats. If he's on your waiver wire still, go ahead and grab him. There's no telling when he'll come back down to Earth.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 4/13, 10:14 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 1-for-3 with his third home run of the season as the Yankees fell to the Rays 15-3 on Monday. He then took to the mound in the eighth inning. He allowed a hit and a walk, but did not allow a run in his pitching debut. Amazingly, he also struck out a batter.

Our View: Swisher's K/9 rate is worth keeping an eye on but the WHIP is a little...aw heck, who are we kidding?! Swisher has no business being on the mound, unless it is for entertainment purposes or trying to save the bullpen, which was the case tonight. The real story with Swisher is his 1.692 OPS through seven games. Manager Joe Girardi simply cannot remove him from the lineup as long as he remains this hot.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 4/12, 11:30 AM CT
Nick Swisher will start at first base in place of Mark Teixeira today against the Royals, according to the Star-Ledger. Teixeira is nursing a sore left wrist.

Our View: Swisher is slated to bat third in the order between Derek Jeter and Hideki Matsui. Swisher is worth penciling into fantasy lineups as he has three doubles, one triple, two homers and nine RBI over 13 at-bats so far this season.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 4/11, 11:42 PM CT
Nick Swisher started in place of Mark Teixeira and did a very good impression of the Yankees' first baseman. Swisher tripled, homered, scored three runs and drove in three in the Yankees' 6-1 win over Kansas City.

Our View: Swisher is a good source of power, but with him only getting about three starts a week, he's a tough fantasy play. He's likely worth it in AL-only leagues though.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 4/10, 8:25 AM CT
Nick Swisher is expected to get roughly three starts per week to go along with pinch-hit at-bats off the bench, according to the New York Post.

Our View: Swisher had a huge day on Thursday and certainly has great potential down the road should he be able to win near-everyday playing time in the Yankees' lineup, though his value will remain limited to AL-only leagues for now while he receives probably not much more than 20 plate appearances per week.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 4/9, 4:46 PM CT
Nick Swisher had a monster game on Thursday against Baltimore, going 3-for-5 with five RBI and two runs scored in New York's 11-2 romp at Camden Yards.

Our View: Swisher hit a two-run homer in the fourth and then singled home a pair of runs in a four-run Yankee sixth to lead New York's 13-hit assault.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 3/16, 5:48 PM CT
Nick Swisher started at first base and was 3-for-4 with three RBI in the Yankees 12-0 win over the Phillies on Monday. He is now hitting .222 this spring.

Our View: Swisher is battling for a regular job that he will not likely find. At best, he will platoon with Xavier Nady in right field, while Mark Teixeira mans first base and Hideki Matsui fills in at DH.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 3/14, 4:32 PM CT
Nick Swisher was 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored as the Yankees defeated the Pirates 13-10 on Saturday.

Our View: Swisher is just 2-for-20 this spring and he is probably in danger of losing his everyday starting job. At this point, he is probably the Yankees fourth outfielder, and reserve 1B/DH.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 2/25, 4:48 PM CT
Nick Swisher started in right field for the Yankees as they defeated the Blue Jays 6-1 on Wednesday. He struck out once, had an RBI and drew two walks.

Our View: Swisher had some pretty ugly numbers last season, as his BABIP fell 52 points. He should be able to enjoy somewhat of a comeback in New York this season and he will likely play several positions. Regardless, Swisher is always good for plenty of walks and strikeouts.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 1/13, 9:07 PM CT
With the acquisitions of Javier Vazquez, Derek Lowe and Kenshin Kawakami, the Braves will now focus their attention on adding a power hitting outfielder, according to MLB.com. They are interested in both Yankee outfielders Nick Swisher and Xavier Nady, which Swisher being the more attractive option in their eyes due to the fact he is under contract until 2011.

Our View: If the Braves are able to add either player, that would close the gap even more on their talent level and the talent level of the Mets and Phillies.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 1/13, 1:00 PM CT
The Atlanta Braves are interested in the services of a Yankees outfielder - either Nick Swisher or Xavier Nady, according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.

Our View: The Braves are in big-time need of an outfield bat, and both of these players would qualify. The team has Jeff Francoeur stationed in right and a solid infield nucleus, but needs at least one more productive bat.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 1/10, 3:12 PM CT
The Nationals are interested in acquiring first baseman/outfielder Nick Swisher or outfielder Xavier Nady, and they are currently in trade discussions with the Yankees, MLB.com reports.

Our View: Nady would add to an already-crowded outfield, unless the Nationals give up a projected starter in return. Swisher would presumably take the first base job from the oft-injured Nick Johnson. We'll have more analysis should a deal actually happen.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 1/8, 8:28 PM CT
Nick Swisher is a name that has been discussed between the Pirates and the Yankees, and even though the talks were cordial, it doesn't look like he will end up in Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View: Swisher is due $22 million the next three years, and with the Yankees in search of pitching in exchange for Swisher, there just doesn't seem to be a good match between the two clubs.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 1/7, 5:26 PM CT
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Reds GM Walt Jocketty has had multiple discussions with Yankees GM Brian Cashman regarding Nick Swisher among others.

Our View: The Yankees traded for Swisher earlier this offseason, but their acquisition of Mark Teixeira has made him somewhat expendable. It remains to be seen exactly how the Reds would intend using him.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 1/7, 2:10 PM CT
The Mets were interested in Nick Swisher prior to joining the Yankees, according to the NY Post.

Our View: The Braves were also interested in Swisher, who will be looking to bounce back after being a disappointment with the White Sox in 2008.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 1/7, 12:21 PM CT
The Nationals inquired about Nick Swisher, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: The Yankees listened, but were not impressed with the Nationals' offer.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 1/6, 9:07 AM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports states that Yankees' outfielder Nick Swisher is garnering strong interest.

Our View: Rosenthal believes the Giants, Braves, or Pirates would make sense, all three of which could use help in their outfield and at first base.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 11/24, 11:59 AM CT
Part of the reason Nick Swisher was dealt to the Yankees is because he was a bad influence in Chicago's clubhouse, according to the Chicago Tribune. Manager Ozzie Guillen said, "To be honest with you, I was not happy with the way he was reacting at the end of the season. He wasn't helping me either."

Our View: On a positive note, Swisher should benefit from a fresh start with the Yankees.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 11/13, 2:44 PM CT
Outfielder Nick Swisher was traded from the Chicago White Sox with Kanekoa Texeira to the New York Yankees for minor league hurler Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez, along with first baseman Wilson Betemit according to FoxSports.com.

Our View: Swisher had a very poor year, as his batting average was just .219, though he did hit 24 home runs. The Yankees needed both an outfielder and first baseman, and Swisher can fill both roles when asked.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 11/12, 11:02 AM CT
Chicago is reportedly increasing their effort to trade Nick Swisher, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Swisher is signed through 2011 with Chicago but doesn't have no-trade rights. It is previously stated that the Sox would like to move Swisher to acquire more speed.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 11/5, 11:56 AM CT
Nick Swisher is believed to be on Chicago's trading block, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: GM Kenny Williams would like to upgrade Chicago's speed, and is believed to be interested in Willy Taveras of Colorado. The Rockies are not interested in Swisher, but they would likely take a young pitcher in return, such as Lance Broadway.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 10/3, 4:53 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Nick Swisher is starting in Game 2 of the ALDS with left-hander Scott Kazmir starting for Tampa Bay. He replaces Dewayne Wise in the outfield on Friday.

Our View: It's easy to see what manager Ozzie Guillen is thinking by sitting his lefties, but Swisher has been terrible from the right side of the plate this season as he just hit .197. Just six of his 24 home runs came as a right-handed hitter. Swisher has three hits in 21 career at-bats against Kazmir.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 9/17, 9:35 AM CT
Manager Ozzie Guillen noted that Nick Swisher will see less playing time while working in an outfield platoon with Brian Anderson, Dewayne Wise, and speedster Jerry Owens, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View: Swisher was covering at first base, but Paul Konerko has returned from his knee injury. He had been experimenting with different stances in the batting box, and the club cannot afford to wait for him to break out of his hitting slump while in a tight race with the Twins for the AL Central crown.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 9/6, 3:37 PM CT
Nick Swisher is starting in left field in place of the injured Carlos Quentin today against the Angels, according to the Chicago Tribune. Ken Griffey Jr. is roaming center field with Jermaine Dye in right.

Our View: Swisher is going to see action in left field the rest of the way. He remains in a hitting slump as he only registered two hits over his last six games.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 8/31, 3:43 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 0-for-4 for the White Sox, but the team still found a way to beat the Boston Red Sox by a score of 4-2.

Our View: Swisher has been an incredible disappointment from the start of the season on, and has hit under .225 every month of the season except one. Fantasy owners should not expect anything to change in September.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 8/26, 7:42 PM CT
Nick Swisher left Tuesday's game against Baltimore at Camden Yards after fouling a pitch off of his left leg during a 4th-inning at-bat, according to MLB.com. Swisher was diagnosed with a lower left leg contusion and is listed as day-to-day.

Our View: Swisher contributed to an early 6-0 lead for the White Sox by launching a two-run home run in the first, his 22nd of the season. He hobbled back to the dugout after striking out in the fourth and was replaced by Brian Anderson in the bottom of the inning.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 8/11, 11:21 PM CT
Nick Swisher was the lone White Sox batter to produce two hits on Monday night as he went 2-for-3 at the plate to raise his average to .234.

Our View: Swisher is just 12 for his last 57 (.211) and was in the eighth hole on this night. He has been a pretty big disappointment in Chicago after many assumed he would have a big year moving to a home park that so clearly favors the hitter. It just hasn't happened.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 8/6, 12:13 AM CT
Nick Swisher didn't start the game on Tuesday night, but he ended it with a three-run homer in the bottom of the 14th inning. The White Sox beat the Tigers 10-8.

Our View: Swisher has seen his playing time reduced since the Ken Griffey trade, but he will still rotate into the lineup and get pinch-hit chances. He still has a spot in AL-only formats.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 7/22, 10:28 PM CT
The White Sox sent the Rangers walking with a troubling 10-2 loss this evening, using the bat of outfielder Nick Swisher to get the job done. Swisher went 1-for-3 at the plate with one walk and his 14th homer of the season, totaling three RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Swisher has turned it one over recent days, hitting two homers over his last three games with six RBIs and four runs scored.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 7/20, 5:17 PM CT
The White Sox suffered a disappointing series-closing loss versus the Kansas City Royals today, losing 8-7 despite working from behind to overtake two leads during the game, an effort led by outfielder Nick Swisher that fell just short. Swisher went 2-for-4 at the plate with one walk and his 13th homer of the season, touting three RBIs and two runs scored through the struggle.

Our View: After hitting .315 with seven homers and 23 RBIs last month, Swisher is hitting just .213 with one homer and five RBIs through July.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 7/4, 8:45 AM CT
Nick Swisher will move from first base to center field when Paul Konerko comes back from the disabled list, according to the Chicago Tribune. "But what decision we're going to make, my center fielder obviously has to be Swisher," manager Ozzie Guillen said.

Our View: For what it's worth, Swisher's numbers have been better while playing center field. In 143 at-bats as a center fielder, he has hit .259 with 7 home runs and 17 RBI. In 91 at-bats as a first baseman, he has hit .242 with 3 home runs and 16 RBI.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/30, 11:31 PM CT
Nick Swisher, who had a bases-loaded homer against the Cubs on Friday, connected from the right side against lefty Jeremy Sowers to start a five-run third inning in Monday night's rout of Cleveland. Swisher went deep from the left side against Tom Mastny, the seventh time in Swisher's career he's homered from both sides of the plate. It was the second this season.

Our View: It was the major league-leading eighth grand slam given up by Cleveland's pitching staff this season. Swisher's two home runs raised his total to 11 for the season.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 6/27, 6:10 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Friday's 10-3 win over the Cubs. His other hit went for a double, giving him six total bases in the game.

Our View: That was his first homer since June 9, when he hit a pair against the Twins.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 6/20, 6:36 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-3 on Friday to extend his modest hitting streak to five games during which time his average has gone from .218 to .236.

Our View: So far Swisher has been a tremendous disappointment, but it appears that he has finally rediscovered his swing as he is hitting .339 over his last 62 AB. Hopefully you had the patience to wait for the turnaround.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 6/10, 11:15 AM CT
Nick Swisher was moved to seventh in the batting order on June 1st. In the eight games since he has hit .387 with four HR and accumulated 10 RBI. He belted two home runs and drew two walks in a 7-5 victory last night over the Twins.

Our View: Fantasy owners are hoping that the new position in the batting order is precisely what Swisher needs to break out of his early season slump. The move has been beneficial for the White Sox in the win column, as well. They are 7-1 since the switch.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 6/8, 6:23 PM CT
The White Sox put the 12-2 win on the board versus the Minnesota Twins today, a strong effort pushed by outfielder Nick Swisher . Swisher went 2-for-4 with his eighth double and sixth homer of the season, posting four total RBIs and two runs scored on the day.

Our View: Swisher has posted at least on hit in his last seven games, going 10-for-29 through that stretch with two home runs and seven RBIs.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 6/1, 10:51 AM CT
Nick Swisher was dropped to ninth in the batting order on Saturday. The struggling slugger also shaved the hair off both sides of his bead. "I don't know what else to do," Swisher informs the Chicago Tribune. He went 0-for-2 and saw his average dip to .201.

Our View: Swisher is just one of many struggling Sox batters. If Jerry Owens were hitting better at Triple-A, the speedster might be digging into Swisher's playing time. As it is, Ozzie Guillen can only drop Nick in the order and hope the slugger can turn it around.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 5/16, 7:47 PM CT
Nick Swisher is penciled in to bat seventh in the White Sox lineup tonight, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Swisher holds a .211 batting average over 40 games, with four homers and 10 RBI, but still managed to score 23 runs, due to a .339 on-base percentage.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 5/8, 5:07 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 0-for-4 on Thursday to drop his average to .200 on the season thanks to a 10-for-70 stretch.

Our View: One word for you - ugly. Swisher has never been a big average hitter, his career mark is .248, but the depths we are seeing here are shocking. However, he is getting on base at almost a .350 clip, so he has still been able to produce in the runs scored category (23).
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesThursday 5/8, 1:56 PM CT
Nick Swisher is hitting sixth in the White Sox order today, according to the Star Tribune. He dropped down in the order, and Alexei Ramirez is batting leadoff.

Our View: While Swisher was solid as a leadoff man, but the team slipped to 15-17 and could use more firepower in the middle of their order. He may not score as many runs from the sixth spot, but he could swing for the fences more often, meaning his home run totals could improve. He only has three homers over 128 at-bats so far.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 5/5, 8:15 PM CT
After struggling with a .210 average the White Sox have moved Nick Swisher to sixth in the batting order. Orlando Cabrera will hit at the top of the order for the struggling White Sox offense.

Our View: His 23 walks and .354 on base percentage are favorable for a leadoff hitter, but the team needs more punch in the middle of the order. Swisher could provide that spark and improve his HR/AB ratio.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesMonday 5/5, 4:29 PM CT
Nick Swisher certainly hasn't helped the White Sox during their recent offensive slumber. The leadoff heater is batting .210 with a .675 OPS through the first month and week of the season.

Our View: His 23 walks and .354 on base percentage are favorable, but the rest of the numbers are inferior to what was projected for the Oakland import. His HR/AB this season is 35.0, which is down from his 24.5 when in Oakland. The hitter friendly confines of Chicago have yet to pay dividends for those who believed Swisher would have the best offensive season of his career. However, there is plenty of time for Swish to pick up his pace.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 4/29, 2:58 PM CT
Nick Swisher only has five hits over his last 36 at-bats (.139), according to MLB.com. He is only 19-for-86 (.221) overall for the season, with 19 strikeouts.

Our View: Swisher walked 21 times though, and scored 18 runs over 25 games. His fantasy stock will climb back up, as soon as his average does. See if you can lure him away for cheap right now during his slump.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 4/26, 10:19 PM CT
Nick Swisher went 2-for-4 with his third home run of the season in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

Our View: There will be plenty more home runs for Swisher. Hitting in the leadoff spots hurts his RBI chances, but Swisher benefits with more plate appearances than he would see in the middle of the order.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSunday 4/20, 1:29 PM CT
Nick Swisher is starting at first base for Chicago today, according to The Chicago Tribune. He is moving over from center field in place of Paul Konerko, who was given the day off.

Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 4/12, 12:06 PM CT
Contrary to a Friday report on MLB.com , Nick Swisher is at the top of the lineup and playing center field against the Tigers today.

Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 4/11, 8:18 PM CT
Nick Swisher will be sidelined for at least the next two days as the team hopes the time off will allow him to heal the sore right hip flexor that has plagued him, this according to MLB.com. This doesn't appear to be a serious issue, at least that's what the club hopes as they are being proactive here. Carlos Quentin will move up into the leadoff spot in place of Swisher.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 4/8, 1:12 PM CT
Nick Swisher will remain Chicago's leadoff hitter for the foreseeable future, according to the Chicago Tribune. He is hitting 6-for-23 with an eye opening nine walks so far, and Manager Guillen stated, "You have a leadoff hitter who can run, that's a plus. But to be a leadoff hitter, you've got to get on base. You can't steal first. I'd rather be a guy who gets on base, and all of a sudden he gets on base six times in a row by walks." Swisher should score a lot of runs in the potent White Sox offense with Orlando Cabrera, Jim Thome, and Paul Konerko hitting behind him.

Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 2/29, 8:37 AM CT
If Jerry Owens ends up out of the lineup, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said he's seriously considering batting Nick Swisher in the leadoff spot over Orlando Cabrera, according to the Chicago Tribune. "If we're going to think about Orlando and Swisher hitting leadoff, I'd rather have Swisher because Orlando handles the bat a lot better than he does," Guillen said. Owens is going to have to earn his playing time and currently is sidelined by a sore groin, so things could change at the top of the lineup early this season.
Nick Swisher, RF, New York YankeesFriday 1/4, 1:48 PM CT
How the rest of the White Sox's roster shapes up will determine exactly what position Nick Swisher will spend most of his time at next season, but GM Kenny Williams has told the slugger he'll likely spend the bulk of his time in center field, according to the Chicago Tribune. Assuming that happens, Carlos Quentin and Jerry Owens will likely compete for time in left. Although there are other questions that still need to be answered, as well. Such as what the team plans to do with Alexei Ramirez and where Josh Fields will play if Joe Crede isn't dealt.
