Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 10/19, 8:11 AM CT
Despite rumors to the contrary, the Rockies do not plan on trading Brad Hawpe and his $7.5 million 2010 salary this offseason, according to InsideTheRockies.com.

Our View: Hawpe was an All-Star last season, but struggled down the stretch, and started just one of four Rockies' playoff games. But after hitting .284 with 23 home runs and 86 RBI on the season, the Rox insist he is still in their long-term plans.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 10/11, 7:24 PM CT
The AP reports that All-Star outfielder Brad Hawpe has been replaced in the lineup by Ryan Spilborghs for Sunday's Game 3 between the Rockies and Phillies. Spilborghs will hit seventh.

Our View: Hawpe will be available off of the bench, but manager Jim Tracy felt Spilborghs was a better option against left-hander J.A. Happ. Hawpe has struggled throughout most of the second half of the season.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 10/4, 8:19 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-2 with his 23rd home run of the season in a 5-3 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

Our View: The All Star outfielder was a beast in the first half, hitting .320 with 14 homers and 59 RBI, but he fizzled drastically after the break. Since the mid-summer classic he hit under .240 with nine homers and just 27 RBI.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 9/27, 12:15 AM CT
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-3 and popped a two-run homer against Adam Wainwright in the Rockies 6-3 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.

Our View: Hawpe was bumped to seventh in the order before the game due to his recent offensive struggles, but was the most productive bat for the Rockies in the game. Perhaps Jim Tracy's strategy worked. It was Hawpe's first homer since August 29th.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 9/26, 5:46 PM CT
According to the Denver Post, Brad Hawpe has been dropped to seventh in Saturday's batting order.

Our View: Hawpe has struggled recently (.146 September average) and was lifted for a pinch hitter in Friday's win over the Cardinals. Looks like the Rockies want to pull out all the stops and lock up the Wild Card.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 8/29, 11:04 PM CT
Brad Hawpe's ninth inning solo home run broke up Barry Zito's shutout bid, but did little else, as the Rockies lost 5-3 in San Francisco for their fourth straight loss.

Our View: Hawpe has very quietly put together a solid season in 2009, batting .299 with 19 home runs and 76 RBI.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/19, 9:25 AM CT
Brad Hawpe drove in the Rockies lone run in their 3-1 loss to the Padres on Saturday.

Our View: Colorado's All-Star should continue to produce at a high level in the second half of the season, and be in your starting lineup every day, in every format.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/12, 8:19 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-4 and blasted his 14th homer of the season in the Rockies' dramatic come from behind, walk-off win on Sunday. Hawpe also drove in two and drew a walk in the contest.

Our View: Hawpe was on fire through the first three months of the season, but in July he's hitting just .250. He's still worthy of his All Star berth, but he's cooled as of late. The homer was his first since June 30th.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 7/7, 11:37 AM CT
According to MLB.com, Rockies' outfielder Brad Hawpe will start for the NL in the All-Star game in place of the injured Carlos Beltran. Hawpe gets the start because he was the top pick on the players' ballot.

Our View: Hawpe has been excellent this season, and he certainly deserves to be on the team and to start. It will be his first All-Star start of his career.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/1, 5:22 PM CT
Brad Hawpe had two of the Rockies three hits on Wednesday, as a gaggle of Dodgers pitchers suffocated their lineup in a 1-0 loss.

Our View: Hawpe is now batting .333 on the season, and has a good shot at making his first All-Star roster.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 6/28, 12:02 AM CT
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a walk and his 12th home run of the season on Saturday.

Our View: Hawpe had raked in the middle of Colorado's lineup all year long and is clearly a must-start in the outfield at this point.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 6/23, 12:15 AM CT
Brad Hawpe carried the Rockies offensively in Monday's 11-1 win at the Angels, as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. He hit a single and a three-run homer off Matt Palmer.

Our View: Hawpe continues to lead the Rockies with a .335 batting average and 53 RBI. He crushed his fourth homer of June tonight, and his 11th of 2009.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 6/21, 8:39 AM CT
The Denver Post reports that GM Dan O'Dowd put to rest any notions that outfielder Brad Hawpe is on the trading block. "I don't know where any of that came from," O'Dowd said. "I don't foresee us doing anything with him. That's something you would only do strategically, for the big picture. That would be something for the offseason, if at all."

Our View: It was widely whispered around baseball that Hawpe was available for the right price, but O'Dowd's statement should quell some of those circling rumors. What likely happened is that Hawpe was for sale, but the Rockies went on a fantastic run and now that they are back in the mix they don't want to dump their most productive player. If they start to fade again, look for Hawpe to become available once more.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 6/19, 11:06 PM CT
Brad Hawpe carried the Rockies offensively in Friday's 7-3 win over the Pirates at Coors Field, as he went 3-for-4 with three RBI. He hit a two-run homer, double and a single.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/10, 11:01 PM CT
Brad Hawpe was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI, and a run scored as the Rockies defeated the Brewers 4-2 on Wednesday.

Our View: Bradley Bonte Hawpe is having one heck of a season out in Denver. He has an 12-game hit streak going, in which he's totaled 17 hits. His batting average has only increased by .004 in that span. He ranks fourth in the NL in batting average (.339) and fifth with 45 RBI.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/10, 12:19 PM CT
The Denver Post is reporting that Brad Hawpe would void his player option for 2011 if traded and become a free agent.

Our View: This might dampen Hawpe's tradeability a little bit, but many teams are still likely to pursue the slugging right fielder, who is batting .335 with eight home runs and 43 RBIs in 2009.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/3, 11:08 PM CT
Brad Hawpe was 2-for-2 with two walks but just one run scored in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Astros. He is now hitting .353.

Our View: Hawpe's batting average seems to be a direct result of his improved plate discipline. He has drawn 22 walks against his 26 strikeouts. His 40 RBI has him on pace for 138 RBI this season, a pace that we doubt he can sustain.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 6/2, 11:27 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in Tuesday's 3-2 loss at Houston.

Our View: Hawpe has a four-game hitting streak, and notched his team-leading 40th RBI. He also leads the Rockies with a .345 batting average.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 5/30, 11:34 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Saturday's 8-7 win over San Diego at Coors Field. He had a single, double and a two-run homer.

Our View: Hawpe registered multiple hits in 14 games this season, and ended a 10-game skid without a home run. He raised his season average to .343, and he leads the Rockies with 39 RBI and 13 doubles.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 5/26, 6:39 PM CT
According to FOXSports.com, the Rockies may be headed for a fire sale and Brad Hawpe is their most intriguing bargaining chip.

Our View: With the Rockies already 12 games out they are considering packing it in for 2009. Hawpe makes $12 million a year for the next two seasons and has a $10 million option for 2011. He's cheaper than Todd Helton and more productive than Garrett Atkins and several teams would love to have him. The Rays and Braves have been mentioned as nice fits.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 5/26, 5:42 PM CT
According to the Denver Post, Brad Hawpe is out of the lineup on Tuesday due to a groin strain he suffered in Monday's game.

Our View: Consider Hawpe day-to-day and keep him out of your lineup until further notice. He was held out of the lineup as a precaution, but the severity of the strain is unknown and he may miss a handful of games. Hawpe is having a very strong season so far, which makes this unjury especially frustrating for owners.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 5/25, 7:38 PM CT
Brad Hawpe continued his strong season in Monday's 16-6 loss to the Dodgers. The right fielder was 2-for-2 with a walk, two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Our View: Hawpe was just three for his last 20 and his average had fallen all the way to .326. He is currently fifth in the NL with 36 RBI and sixth with a .603 slugging percentage.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesThursday 5/21, 9:21 PM CT
Brad Hawpe was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in the Rockies' 9-0 win over the Braves on Thursday.

Our View: Hawpe has been a fantasy life saver this season. He's hitting .336 with six homers and 33 RBI. He's also been good for 19 extra-base hits. He should be employed in all fantasy formats.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/15, 9:18 PM CT
Brad Hawpe came up big in the ninth inning for the Rockies on Friday as he pounded a two-run homer off of Pirates closer Matt Capps to give Colorado the victory. Hawpe was 2-for-4 on the night with a run scored and two RBI.

Our View: The Rockies couldn't do much off of Pirates' starter Paul Maholm, but Hawpe struck off Capps when he needed to in the ninth. Hawpe's shot made sure the outstanding start by Jorge De La Rosa didn't go to waste.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 5/12, 11:39 PM CT
Brad Hawpe had a huge night at the plate on Tuesday. He was 4-for-4 with a homer, a double, two runs scored and five RBI in the Rockies' 12-1 pounding of the Astros.

Our View: Hawpe is having a huge year, hitting .359 with five homers and 25 RBI. He has the benefit of hitting in Coors Field, but is still hitting .306 on the road this season. He's a solid fantasy outfielder.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/29, 1:26 PM CT
Outfielder Brad Hawpe (neck) is expected to return to the Rockies lineup on Friday, the Denver Post confirms.

Our View: Hawpe suffered a neck bruise when he was hit with a thrown ball on Monday. He was rattled and in pain, but it's great news that he is slated to return so quickly.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 4/28, 2:14 PM CT
Updating a previous report, Brad Hawpe suffered a neck contusion and not a concussion during Monday's battle with the Padres, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Hawpe is expected to dress for tonight's game, but will not likely play. This is good news, as a concussion could have sent him to the DL.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 4/28, 1:44 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Brad Hawpe is feeling better after being struck in the neck by a pickoff throw in Monday's game against San Diego, according to the Denver Post. It remains to be revealed if he suffered a concussion.

Our View: A concussion could send him to the DL. The Rockies are expected to update his status at some point later today.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 4/28, 7:19 AM CT
Brad Hawpe was struck in the neck by a pickoff throw in Monday's game against the Padres, according to the Associated Press.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 4/27, 11:35 PM CT
Brad Hawpe was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Rockies beat the Padres 12-7 on Monday.

Our View: Hawpe is actually hitting better on the road than at home in the early going, but we don't suspect that will last very long. He is off to a strong start this season and could be on the verge of his breakout campaign now that he is out of Matt Holliday's shadow.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 4/18, 12:35 AM CT
Outfielder Brad Hawpe went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer in Friday's loss to the Dodgers. Ir was his first long ball of the year.

Our View: The first one is always the toughest, right? Impatient fantasy owners were probably starting to worry, but we have little doubt that Hawpe will ultimately hit another 25-30 bombs this year.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/15, 12:28 PM CT
According to the Denver Post, Brad Hawpe will not be starting in Wednesday's game against the Cubs. He will be replaced by Ian Stewart.

Our View: Hawpe's hamstring is feeling better today, but he will sit as a precaution. He is available to pinch hit, so he should be back in the lineup for the Rockies' next game.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 4/13, 6:25 PM CT
The Denver Post reports that Brad Hawpe is day-to-day after exiting Monday's game against the Cubs following a strike out in the fifth inning. Apparently his hamstring tightened up following the out.

Our View: It was a miserable day in Chicago and not the type of conditions you want to risk any soreness. Hopefully Hawpe will not miss significant time, and we'll update his status as more is made known.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 4/6, 6:05 PM CT
Brad Hawpe started the season off 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and three RBI as Colorado fell 9-8 in Arizona.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 3/30, 8:48 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored as the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 10-3 on Monday. He has missed most of spring training with a hamstring injury, but is now back to 100 percent.

Our View: Hawpe will be counted on to provide pop in the middle of the Rockies order this season. He could provide excellent value given how deep he has fallen in most drafts.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 3/24, 9:46 AM CT
Brad Hawpe, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, is a few days away from returning to the Rockies' lineup, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: The ailment is minor, and Hawpe should still be looked at as an outfielder with the ability to hit 25 or more home runs while pushing the century mark in RBI.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 3/21, 12:47 PM CT
Brad Hawpe deemed his hamstring ailment to be minor, according to the Denver Post. He said, "I just felt it cramp up a little bit when I came around first, so I thought it would be best to come out. It is no big deal. I was going to come out the next inning anyway."

Our View: Fantasy owners do not need to be concerned, and Hawpe should be fine to draft among the top 35-40 fantasy outfielders.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 3/13, 12:48 PM CT
According to the Denver Post, Brad Hawpe is scheduled to play Saturday against the Mariners. He has been held out of action due to a lacerated pinky he injured earlier this spring.

Our View: It's good to know Hawpe is getting back on the field. He's a solid fantasy outfielder and you can take his 25-30 home runs, .280+ average and 80+ RBI to the bank.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 3/4, 8:51 PM CT
Brad Hawpe, who is dealing with a badly cut finger, is 7-10 days away from taking part in spring games again, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Hawpe has been a very consistent hitter over the past three years, both on the road and at Coors Field. Don't expect anything more than a .290 hitter with 30 home runs and 80 walks. Don't expect much less either.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 2/27, 7:20 PM CT
The Denver Post reports that outfielder Brad Hawpe required stitches on his pinky following a slide into second base on Friday. As a result, he is not expected to play in the World Baseball Classic.

Our View: The injury won't have any effect on him come opening day, but he was expected to start for Team USA. Ryan Ludwick may be called on to replace him.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 2/27, 3:08 PM CT
Brad Hawpe was forced out of Friday's game against the Angels with an apparent hand injury. He was spiked by Hainley Statia on a pickoff attempt at second base.

Our View: No further details are available as of now. He was expected to join Team USA for the WBC soon.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 2/25, 8:05 PM CT

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 1/12, 7:58 PM CT
Brad Hawpe has accepted an invitation to play for the United States in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 9/9, 9:32 PM CT
Brad Hawpe homered in his second straight game giving him 24 on the year. He also drove in runs 80 and 81.

Our View: Hawpe started the season slow but has been a solid fantasy contributor this year.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 9/7, 5:29 PM CT
Brad Hawpe had two hits, including a three-run home run, though the Rockies bullpen blew a lead and the team fell to the Astros, 7-5.

Our View: Hawpe started off poorly, but he has really picked it up, and fantasy owners who were skeptical should be pleased with Hawpe's overall production.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 8/15, 9:51 PM CT
Brad Hawpe continued his recent hot streak with a single and his 20th homer of the season Friday. Hawpe is batting .522 with three homers and seven RBI over the last six games.

Our View: This is Hawpe's third straight 20-homer season.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 8/13, 10:52 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 3-for-3 with his 19th home run of the season and three RBI to help lead the Rockies past Arizona by a score of 6-5.

Our View: Hawpe is 5-for-12 with two home runs and five RBI in his last three games, and he seems to be really locked in lately, which should please fantasy owners.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 8/10, 6:25 PM CT
Rockies outfielder Brad Hawpe went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI's to lead the way for Colorado, though they lost to San Diego 16-7.

Our View: This was Hawpe's first home run since July 25, but he had still been hitting the ball well in August, with an average over .320.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 8/4, 11:26 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Rockies loss to Washington.

Our View: Hawpe had a poor start, but hit .323 in July, and is off to a 5-for-15 start in August.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 7/29, 9:16 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 3-for-3, scored two runs and drove one in, though his Rockies were downed by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Our View: Hawpe is scorching hot, and has raised his averge from .242 on July 11 to .280 after tonight's game. If you had been sitting him on your bench in fantasy leagues due to his relatively poor numbers, put him back in immediately.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 7/26, 10:18 PM CT
Brad Hawpe has extended his hitting streak to eight games, and is in the midst of a torrid July in which he has an OPS nearing 1.000.

Our View: Hawpe started slowly but began hitting better in June and has continued that in July.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 7/7, 8:34 PM CT
Brad Hawpe has been good since returning from a stint on the disabled list, but he's started July on the slow side. The Roks outfielder has only three hits in 21 July at-bats. Hawpe has 10 home runs and 22 RBI since June 6, the day he was activated from the DL.

Our View: Two of the three July hits have been home runs which eases the pain of his .250 average.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/6, 6:28 PM CT
Sunday saw Brad Hawpe hit his tenth home run since coming off of the DL a month ago. The shot came off Marlins' starter Mark Hendrickson.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/25, 10:54 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went deep for the tenth time this season on Wednesday night as he went 2-for-4 to raise his average to .263 for the Rockies.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 6/15, 6:49 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Sunday's 5-3 victory over the White Sox.

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 6/7, 10:40 PM CT
Brad Hawpe hit a grand slam off of David Bush on Saturday as he paced the Rockies attack with two hits on the afternoon.

Our View: Hawpe is now 3-for-7 since being activated from the DL, and two of the hits are home runs which has led to six RBI. Not a bad return for the 100-RBI performer of 2007.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 6/6, 6:23 PM CT
The Rockies activated Brad Hawpe from the DL Friday. He had been out with a strained hamstring. To clear a roster spot, the team optioned Cory Sullivan to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Our View: The Rockies have been arguably the biggest disappointment in baseball this year, so they'll certainly welcome Hawpe back into the lineup.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesThursday 6/5, 9:59 AM CT
Brad Hawpe is eligible to come off the DL on Friday, according to the Denver Post. He is recovering from a strained right hamstring.

Our View: But it remains possible Colorado could wait a few more days to make sure he's regained his hitting stroke, which would allow them more time to evaluate Seth Smith.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 6/1, 2:01 PM CT
Brad Hawpe will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Colorado Springs on Monday, the Denver Post reports. He is out due to a sore right hamstring.

Our View: The Post doesn't say how long Hawpe will remain out, but we imagine he could return by Friday if all goes well. The Rockies are off on Thursday.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 5/24, 2:33 PM CT
Brad Hawpe has been placed on the DL due to a sore right hamstring that has kept him out of action the past three days, according to the Associated Press. “He’s not close," manager Clint Hurdle said. "We felt he might be close about three or four days from now. That puts him halfway home being on the DL so we just go retroactive to the last game he played and he goes from there.”

Our View: The team has called up outfielder Seth Smith to help fill the void. It will be interesting to see if the Rockies decide to go with Scott Podsednik in the lineup if Wily Taveras is also playing, or if they will go with Smith instead.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 5/20, 9:51 AM CT
Brad Hawpe was not in the Rockies' lineup on Monday due to poor play, according to the Rocky Mountain News. He was only 5-for-32 over his previous 10 games.

Our View: Hawpe is only hitting .236 over 41 games, with a mere three homers and 16 RBI. The Rockies sat him, and you should too, until he gets on track.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesMonday 5/5, 11:20 PM CT

Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 4/20, 10:21 PM CT
Brad Hawpe went 3-for-4 in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Astros. Hawpe and the Roks saw their April record even out at 9-9.

Our View: The Colorado right fielder hit his fourth double of the season, added two singles and raised his average to .246.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSaturday 4/19, 9:09 PM CT
Brad Hawpe had two hits and an RBI in the Rockies victory over the Astros on Saturday.

Our View: Hawpe is hitting a terrible .208 on the year though he has as many BB (12) as K (12). Look for the average to climb and the run production to follow.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/2, 11:11 PM CT
Brad Hawpe launched his first long ball of the season on Wednesday night for the Rockies as he platted two runners on the night. Hawpe, who quietly put up 29 HR and 116 RBI last season, is likely the best number six hitter in the National League and he should continue to drive in runs in a potent Colorado attack.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/2, 8:26 AM CT
Brad Hawpe continues to struggle with strikeouts as he whiffed three times over four at-bats against St. Louis on Tuesday. He struck out eight times in spring training and he really needs to cut down and get this under control.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesSunday 3/23, 11:44 PM CT
Brad Hawpe returned to the starting lineup for the Rockies on Sunday, this according to ESPN MLB. The Roks outfielder missed the last 11 games with a sore left elbow. He spent most of his rehab time working in the cage. Hawpe had a productive return, going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, to raise his spring average to .417. Add four RBI to his Sunday afternoon and the poor-man's Matt Holliday looks fit for the regular season despite his two week absence.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesFriday 3/21, 1:33 PM CT
Brad Hawpe will hit in a minor league game Friday, according to MLB.com. The outfielder is healthy enough to return from his elbow injury, but the team isn't pushing him. Hawpe will be fine by the opener.
Brad Hawpe, RF, Colorado RockiesTuesday 3/18, 8:18 AM CT
Brad Hawpe (sore left elbow) played catch from 80 feet and took batting practice, the team website noted on Monday night. The Roks right fielder hopes to take live action as the team's designated hitter on Wednesday. Hawpe's last spring at-bat came over a week ago, Monday, March 10th.
