Our View: The outfielder is dealing with the flu, and is expected to return to the diamond this weekend.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 9/30, 9:46 AM CT
According to the Kansas City Star, Royals' outfielder David DeJesus missed his fifth straight game on Tuesday due to the flu. The team expects DeJesus to return to the team for their final series of the season against the Twins this weekend.

Our View: DeJesus is reportedly feeling better, but there is no need for the team to rush him back this late in the season. Expect him to return to the lineup in the next few days, and for sure by this weekend.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 9/17, 1:09 PM CT
MLB.com reports that David DeJesus is not in Thursday's lineup as he's suffering from a sore left knee.

Our View: DeJesus is red hot right now, so it was a tough call for manager Trey Hillman to sit him, but the knee has taken some abuse lately and he badly needs a day off. DeJesus was hit on the knee by a pitch Wednesday and flipped in to the stands in Tuesday's game. He's in the midst of a 16-game hitting streak, so expect him back shortly.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 9/12, 9:49 PM CT
David DeJesus went 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot Saturday night, but couldn't get enough offense going, as Kansas City lost 13-6 in Cleveland.

Our View: With 12 home runs and 67 RBI in 136 games this season, DeJesus should establish new career highs in both categories. The 12 homers have already tied his best home run total, while the 67 RBI are just six short.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 8/7, 10:43 PM CT
David DeJesus was productive in tonight's 9-4 loss to Oakland at Kauffman Stadium, as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI. He hit a single, double and a triple.

Our View: DeJesus was in need of a solid performance, as he was 1-for-9 over his previous three games. He now has 51 RBI, ranking second on the Royals behind Billy Butler (54).
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 8/1, 6:34 PM CT
David DeJesus went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Jeff Niemann, and recorded the Royals' lone RBI in Saturday's 7-1 loss at Tampa Bay.

Our View: DeJesus has a four-game hitting streak, and ended a 16-game drought without a homer.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 7/27, 7:30 PM CT
David DeJesus was held out of Kansas City's lineup on Monday with a sore right knee, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The injury is nothing serious, and DeJesus is fully expected to be back in the Royals' lineup on Tuesday, when he'll go right back to being the fringe fantasy player that he was before.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 7/17, 11:51 PM CT
David DeJesus led the way for the Royals' offense on Friday, but it wasn't enough as his team fell to the Rays by a score of 8-7. DeJesus went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Our View: DeJesus has been hot in July, and when he hits like this he can be a fantasy contributor. He can be hot and cold, so his value is still limited to AL-only leagues unless he keeps this up for an extended period of time.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 7/9, 10:05 PM CT
David DeJesus went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer off Justin Masterson in tonight's 8-6 win at Boston.

Our View: DeJesus hit his first homer of July, and his seventh of the season. He is hitting .351 (13-for-37) so far this month as well.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 7/2, 9:47 PM CT
David DeJesus went 1-for-4 with a double, and recorded the Royals' lone RBI in tonight's 4-1 loss to the White Sox at Kauffman Stadium.

Our View: DeJesus is riding a five-game hitting streak, with three RBI over the span. He is only hitting .245 for the season, but is worth employing in fantasy lineups while hot.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 6/28, 4:59 PM CT
David DeJesus homered and drove in two on Sunday in the Royals' 3-2 win over the Pirates. DeJesus was 1-for-4 in the game.

Our View: There wasn't a whole lot of offense in the game, but DeJesus provided most of the Royals' share with one swing of the bat. DeJesus has been a bit of a disappointment this season, but he has the ability to be a solid fantasy option. Until he starts to heat up, it may be best to stay away, however.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 6/18, 10:50 PM CT
David DeJesus went 3-for-5 with four RBI in Thursday's 12-5 loss to Arizona at Kauffman Stadium. He had a single, double and a triple.

Our View: DeJesus enjoyed his best outing of June despite the loss, and has a hit in nine of his last 10 games.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 5/17, 5:57 PM CT
David DeJesus went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, and two runs scored as the Royals came back to defeat the Orioles 7-4 on Sunday.

Our View: DeJesus has struggled at the plate this season and he has been dropped to seventh in the order. He is carrying a mere .286 OBP, but we fully expect him to raise his numbers going forward. He has five hits in his last three games.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 5/4, 9:53 PM CT
David DeJesus made a big impact at the plate on Monday, going 2-for-4 with a home run. He now has three homers on the year.

Our View: DeJesus has some value in AL-only leagues, but for now he is limited to only that. He has the potential to put up decent numbers, but right now he is just average in fantasy circles.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 5/1, 4:14 PM CT
David DeJesus is back in the Royals' lineup Friday after missing the last two games with back stiffness.

Our View: DeJesus is off to a slow start this season, but he still holds some value if he can get it turned around at the plate. He has two home runs and nine RBI so far this season.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 4/21, 9:32 PM CT
David DeJesus was 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored as the Royals lost in Cleveland 8-7.

Our View: DeJesus has hit two home runs and collected five RBI in his last two games. He looks like he has broke out of his early season slump and should be in line for some nice production as the No. 3 hitter in the Royals lineup.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 4/19, 6:15 PM CT
David DeJesus went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Rangers.

Our View: DeJesus has struggled with the bat to start the season, but hopefully today's performance will get him going. Despite his early season slump, the Royals have stuck with him as their No. 3 hitter.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 2/25, 5:52 PM CT
David DeJesus went 1-for-2 on Wednesday in the Cactus League.

Our View: DeJesus was a productive player in fantasy in 2008, batting .307 with 12 home runs and 73 RBI.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 12/7, 7:41 AM CT
Royals outfielder David DeJesus could be available for a trade, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: The Royals dealt away relievers to get Mike Jacobs and Coco Crisp, and now need to retain bullpen help while shedding payroll. DeJesus was solid for fantasy owners last year who play in leagues that use more than three. He hit .307 while hitting 11 homers and driving in 73 runs.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 10/3, 9:56 AM CT
The Kansas City Royals fired hitting coach Mike Barnett and third-base coach Luis Silverio, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View: The Royals were ninth in the major leagues in batting average with a .269 mark, but were 27th (out of 30) in on-base percentage with a .320 mark.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/26, 6:33 PM CT
David DeJesus' hip is still sore and may sit out the remainder of the season, according to the KC Star.

Our View: The team is playing in Minnesota for the final three games, which has an artificial playing surface that could create a further problem for the outfielder.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 9/24, 7:03 PM CT
David DeJesus left Wednesday night's game with a hip injury according to MLB.com. DeJesus struck out, limped away from the batter's box and was taken out of the game. Joey Gathright replaced him in the lineup, going to center field, with Mitch Maier switching from center to right field.

Our View: The early exit means that DeJesus' 14-game hitting streak is over. He was 22-for-53, .415., in the streak. He is hitting .308 with 73 RBI and 70 runs this season.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 9/22, 9:53 PM CT
David DeJesus went 4-for-4 on Monday night while knocking in two runs and scoring another. Alberto Callaspo also extended his hitting streak to 13-games by going 1-for-3.

Our View: DeJesus is overlooked each year on draft day, and while he doesn't do anything overly well, he is also a fine depth player considering that he is hitting .307 with 12 home runs, 73 RBI and 69 runs scored. Toss in his 11 steals and he is the AL version of Randy Winn.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 9/11, 3:15 PM CT
David DeJesus went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Twins. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: He registered an RBI in each of the last two outings against Minnesota, and is batting .351 (13-for-37) so far in September.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 9/6, 9:31 PM CT
David DeJesus had his third three-hit game in his last four on Saturday. He added two RBI giving him 63 on the season despite batting in the leadoff spot.

Our View: DeJesus hits as much from the leadoff position as some of the game's best but he is not a big threat to steal and lacks production behind him.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 8/16, 6:25 PM CT
David DeJesus returned to the lineup on Saturday and went 2-for-6 with a double. He had missed the previous two games due to a sore lower back.

Our View: DeJesus is having a fine season with the stick, but nagging injuries have punched holes in his playing time and ultimately kept his numbers down. If he can have a strong finish, his 2009 value could go way up.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 8/16, 9:53 AM CT
Royals outfielder David DeJesus said his lower back strain is improving, but there is no timetable for him to return to action, according to the Kansas City Star. “At night, I was waking up every two hours. It’s better. That’s not happening anymore," he said.

Our View: DeJesus hasn't been of much use to fantasy owners as of late, but that could change if he reverts to full health.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 8/15, 11:32 PM CT
David DeJesus at out for the second straight game Friday because of a sore lower back, according to the AP,

Our View: DeJesus sat out five games earlier this month with the same injury. His status for the rest of the weekend is likely up in the air.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 8/8, 9:10 PM CT
David DeJesus returned to the starting lineup on Friday after being sidelined for five games because of a sore back, according to MLB.com.

Our View: DeJesus didn't return to his familiar leadoff role, instead he will bat third with Mike Aviles remaining atop the lineup after going 9-for-21 (.429) the past five games.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 8/5, 6:54 PM CT
David DeJesus is out of the starting lineup again for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox. It will be the fourth straight missed start due to a sore lower back. He remains day-to-day. Mitch Maier will take his place in center.

Our View: Maier has swung the bat well over the last three days, and the Royals are 3-0 without DeJesus. Still, the lineup is better when their leadoff hitter is healthy.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 8/1, 3:22 PM CT
David DeJesus got the day off to help heal a sore back on Wednesday, and Royals manager Trey Hillman might want to consider giving him tonight off as well considering his numbers against Javier Vazquez, tonight's starter for the White Sox. DeJesus has just three hits in 21 at-bats, good for a .143 average against him.

Our View: DeJesus has been a find in fantasy baseball, but tonight's matchup is not a kind one for the Royals outfielder, so if you have an alternative on your bench, consider using him.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 7/30, 2:31 PM CT
David DeJesus is out of Wednesday's lineup with a sore back, according to MLB.com. Manager Trey Hillman said, "He's got a tight lower back, that's why he wasn't moving very good yesterday."

Our View: With an open date Thurday, followed by a home series that opens Friday against the White Sox, Hillman figured back-to-back days off would help DeJesus. His ailment is not believed to be serious. Mike Aviles covers the leadoff spot, with Mitch Maier roaming his spot in center field.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 7/23, 4:11 PM CT
David DeJesus broke up Armando Galarraga's perfect game in the seventh inning and he also added another hit in his final at-bat to go 2-for-4 for the Royals.

Our View: DeJesus continues to produce in the average category (.304), and his other numbers including 10 home runs, 54 RBI, 48 runs and nine SB mark him as a solid third outfielder in mixed leagues.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 7/20, 5:12 PM CT
The Royals and White Sox decided to turn up the offense today and put on a great show for local Chicago fans, but in the end it was Kansas City emerging victorious, 8-7. Outfielder David DeJesus led the way, going 2-for-5 at the dish with three RBIs and one run scored to show for his efforts.

Our View: DeJesus is hitting just .254 this month, well short of the .361 average he enjoyed in June. His OBP has dropped in more dramatic fashion, sitting at .288 for July after going .431 through June.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 7/12, 9:51 PM CT
The Royals used the beneficial offerings of leadoff hitter David DeJesus to push past the Mariners this evening, getting the 5-4 win thanks to a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth, DeJesus' 10th of the season. DeJesus went 2-for-5 overall with two RBIs and two runs scored to show for the effort.

Our View: DeJesus is struggling to match his June success this month, hitting just .244 with one homer and eight RBIs through 10 games after hitting .361 with four homers and 19 RBIs through June. This outing may get him back in positive form.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 7/10, 8:40 PM CT
David DeJesus is batting over .300 for the Royals this season (.307) while leading the American League with a .459 batting average with RISP, according to MLB.com. "I just think the same thing," he said. "Just hit a pitch I can do something with. I don't try to do too much.

Our View: Ian Kinsler entered the night second at .403 with RISP. When you are doing anything better than Kinsler, you are doing something right. Expect DeJesus to continue to provide steady numbers across the board for the Royals.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 7/10, 1:44 PM CT
David DeJesus is just 4-for-25 in his last five games, and faces an even bigger challenge tonight in White Sox hurler Mark Buehrle. DeJesus is hitting just .179 for his career off the lefty.

Our View: As noted, DeJesus is struggling recently, so if you have another option on your bench, it might be best to sit the Royals outfielder for tonight's game.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 7/8, 2:52 PM CT
David DeJesus credits his change in workout routine for his surge in production this season, according to the Kansas City Star. His batting average has dropped over the last two seasons, but he is currently hitting .316 over 74 games in 2008. He said, "I get up now, eat my breakfast and go to the gym. I think that’s the key. I’m going to the gym earlier in the day and then take a nap to recover. When the game starts, I feel lighter out there. I feel like I’ve got more energy. I feel stronger out there. I’m feeling as strong out there as I’ve felt throughout any year of my career."

Our View: DeJesus used to do his workout in the afternoon and never considered a switch until coach Luis Silverio offered a suggestion. DeJesus made the switch in his routine in mid-May, and is hitting .349 over his past 45 games. He also leads the majors with a .474 average with runners in scoring position.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 7/5, 10:00 PM CT
David DeJesus lost his 16-game hitting streak on Saturday night as he went 0-for-4 against the Rays to finish the night hitting .316.

Our View: When the streak started DeJesus was hitting .294. Over the past 17 games he scored 14 runs and firmly reestablished himself as the teams leadoff hitter.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 7/3, 10:36 PM CT
David DeJesus matched his career-high hitting streak of 15 games by singling in a run in the sixth inning.

Our View: DeJesus, who returned to the starting lineup for the second straight night after missing time to a bruised rib, has raised his average to .321 during the hitting streak.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 7/2, 9:06 AM CT
According to the Kansas City Star, David DeJesus could rejoin the starting lineup Wednesday. Manager Trey Hillman said, "He took about 30 tee swings and about 20 soft-toss swings (before the game). He's better. We just felt it was better to keep him out one more day."

Our View: Dejesus was on a 13 game hitting streak before bruising his ribs in a home plate collision on Sunday. He was hitting .438 over that span.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 7/1, 9:12 AM CT
David DeJesus is still suffering from a bruised right rib which could force him to remain on the bench for another couple of days, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View: DeJesus is showing progress but the team wants to make sure their hot hitting outfielder isn't in danger of re-injuring himself before they throw him back into the fold.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 6/29, 2:39 PM CT
David DeJesus was forced out of action in the second inning against the Cardinals on Sunday due to an bruised ribs, according to the AP.

Our View: Esteban German replaced him in left field. DeJesus is considered day-to-day.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 6/25, 10:47 PM CT
David DeJesus pushed his season best hitting streak to 11-games on Wednesday night with two singles in the Royals 4-2 victory on Wednesday night. The Royals are now 12-3 in interleague play, the best mark in baseball

Our View: DeJesus was hitting .294 at the start of the streak, he is now hitting .312, thanks to .395 mark over the last 11 games. Seriously, he is worthy of employment in mixed leagues, after all he did score 101 runs last year with 10 SB.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 6/25, 2:18 PM CT
David DeJesus had another base hit in the Royals 7-3 victory over Colorado on Tuesday. The 28-year-old has hits in 24 of his last 27 games, and is hitting .344 in the month of June.

Our View: DeJesus is scorching right now, and also providing power, with four of his eight home runs coming in June.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 6/22, 7:36 PM CT
David DeJesus had another big game on Sunday as he had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored for the Royals. He now has an 8-game hitting streak.

Our View: DeJesus continues to hit for average (.309) for the Royals thanks to a blistering June in which he has hit .346 with 16 runs scored in 20 games. DeJesus has been consistent hitting over .290 against righties and lefties as well as at home and on the road.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 6/20, 10:35 PM CT
David DeJesus had a hit, stole a base and scored two runs for the Royals in their 9-4 loss to the Giants.

Our View: DeJesus has hits in 6-straight games during which time he has scored six runs, gone deep three times and knocked in eight runs. If he is still on waivers in your league, he would certainly make a solid pick up while hitting like this.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 6/15, 8:43 PM CT
David DeJesus went 3-for-5 and racked up five RBI in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks. He hit a single, a double, and a three-run homer.

David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 5/29, 8:28 PM CT

Our View: He must have taken too many of those Flintstones vitamins.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 5/25, 3:22 PM CT
David DeJesus went 0-for-3 but collected the Royals' lone RBI on a sacrifice in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Toronto.

Our View: His five-game hitting streak has been snapped. He collected eight hits over the span, but with only one run scored.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 5/10, 11:51 PM CT
The Royals suffered a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, but leadoff man RF David DeJesus did what he could to put his team in position to win. DeJesus went 2-for-3 at the plate with two walks, adding two runs scored and his second stolen base of the season.

Our View: DeJesus left April on fire but has fallen a bit in May, his batting average falling from .354 to .317 following this loss.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 4/30, 10:49 PM CT
In his first game hitting in the third spot, David DeJesus knocked in three runs thanks to his second home run of the season.

Our View: For one night at least, the experiment worked. Alex Gordon, who had been hitting third, was dropped to seventh and he responded with two hits and an RBI as the Royals pounded out 12 hits.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 4/30, 7:49 PM CT
David DeJesus will be removed from his customary leadoff spot and instead he will hit out of the third hole though the move may not be a long term one, according to the Kansas City Star. “I think he’s swinging the bat as well as anybody we’ve got right now,” manager Trey Hillman said. “I think you want your most productive guy in the three slot.”

Our View: So far the team has used Alex Gordon and Mark Teahen in the third hole and they have stunk as they have collectively produced just six RBI from the spot, the lowest mark for any team in baseball. DeJesus certainly should offer a short term upgrade given that he is batting .341 on the season.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 4/25, 10:25 PM CT
David DeJesus extended his hitting streak to eight games and drove in three runs with his two Friday hits in the Royals 8-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Our View: DeJesus, who missed almost two weeks of action with various injuries, raised his April average to .414 with his two-hit game.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 4/24, 9:51 PM CT
David DeJesus had two hits, two runs, an RBI and a BB in Game 1 of the Royals double header on Thursday.

Our View: DeJesus is now 9-for-21 on the year (.429), and so far the only thing that has been able to stop him is his own injured ankle.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 4/22, 11:05 PM CT
David DeJesus was back in the lineup on Tuesday, and he went 1-for-3 with a single. The outfielder has been in and out of the lineup due to a sprained left ankle and a jammed big left toe.

Our View: We doubt that DeJesus is back to stay, as these nagging injuries likely didn't disappear overnight. Joey Gathright should continue to be a guy worth holding in AL-only formats.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 4/22, 1:56 PM CT
David DeJesus was held out of the lineup on Sunday as he was still aching from his left big toe and ankle injuries, but with Monday's day off, the team is hopeful he can return to action tonight against the Indians, according to MLB.com.

Our View: He is favorably hitting 10-for-41 lifetime against CC Sabathia, tonight's opposing hurler for Cleveland. If he cannot go, then Joey Gathright would cover his spot in center field.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 4/20, 4:39 PM CT
David DeJesus, who jammed his big left toe on Thursday night, returned to action on Saturday. However, on Sunday he was not in the starting lineup against Dana Eveland and the Athletics.

Our View: Joey Gathright started in center field. The shuffling between DeJesus and Gathright is expected to take place for most of the summer, diminishing both players fantasy value.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 4/19, 6:42 PM CT
David DeJesus had two hits on Saturday and is now batting .429 in 14 AB on the year.

Our View: DeJesus keeps hurting himself, but he has been hitting when he has been in the lineup. Even with the SB speed of Joey Gathright, it is clear that the Royals would prefer DeJesus to be in the lineup every day as the leadoff hitter.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 4/18, 8:30 AM CT
David DeJesus jammed his big left toe on Thursday night and was replaced by Joey Gathright. He hurt the digit when he ran into a wall during pre-game warm-ups. "I ran against the wall and jammed my toe into it and knocked the wind out of myself," DeJesus tells MLB.com. The outfielder doesn't expect to be out long.

Our View: Fantasy owners with daily transactions might want to use someone else on Friday, as DeJesus seems like a magnet for ailment right now.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 4/15, 9:56 PM CT
David DeJesus is healthy, in only his third game back, the center fielder went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Our View: The return of DeJesus kills the momentum that Joey Gathright built during his absence.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 4/15, 5:11 PM CT
David DeJesus, for the second straight game, is starting and at the top of the Royals' order.

Our View: This will be the center fielder's third game of the season. DeJesus has one hit and one RBI in five at-bats on the year.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 4/15, 8:13 AM CT
David DeJesus looked good in his first game back from his ankle ailment on Monday, as he went 1-for-4 with an RBI. He resumed his starting post in center field.

Our View: His fantasy stock will go back up, and Joey Gathright's stock will begin to fall, as he returns to bench duty.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 4/14, 8:21 PM CT
David DeJesus will be back in the lineup on Monday night, MLB.com confirms. He missed the previous 11 games due to a sprained left ankle. DeJesus originally tweaked his ankle on March 24, and he aggravated the injury on March 30.

Our View: The interesting storyline now becomes the corner outfield spots, as Trey Hillman wants to try and find playing time for Joey Gathright. Of course, DeJesus still needs to prove that he's fully healthy.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 4/12, 1:43 PM CT
There is still no word on when David DeJesus will return, according to MLB.com. His injured ankle has kept him out of his ninth straight game on Friday, and as usual, he stated that he felt better than yesterday.

Our View: Joey Gathright will continue to hold down center field until he can return.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 4/9, 9:13 AM CT
David DeJesus remains out of the lineup, but is reportedly close to returning, according to the Kansas City Star. DeJesus noted that his ailment is getting better, and he hopes to return to the Royals' lineup before their six-game home stand concludes on Sunday. Manager Hillman added, "There’s nothing new. The pain is still there. He did a lot of activity Monday, but still a lot of soreness." Hillman also noted that he’s less inclined to use DeJesus in the damp conditions that are being predicted for most of the home stand. His return would send Joey Gathright back to the bench.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 4/7, 2:39 AM CT
David DeJesus, who left the season opener with an ankle injury in the third inning, was out of Sunday's lineup again. KC skipper Trey Hillman isn't sure if DeJesus will be ready for Tuesday home opener against the Yankees.
David DeJesus, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 4/3, 1:38 PM CT
David DeJesus remains listed as day-to-day with his ankle injury, according to MLB.com. He missed another game on Thursday and Manager Hillman stated, "He's still day-to-day.
