Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 2/9, 7:12 PM CT
According to the New York Daily News, the Mets have avoided arbitration with outfielder Angel Pagan by agreeing on a one-year, $1.45 million contract.

Our View: Pagan asked for $1.8 million, but the Mets countered with $1.275 million, so a compromise was reached before the arbitrator got involved. The 28-year-old outfielder played well in part-time duty last season, going 306/.350/.487 with six homers, 32 RBI and 14 stolen bases over 343 at-bats. He will fight Gary Matthews Jr. for the starting center field job left open by Carlos Beltran's injury. Expect Pagan to win it.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 12/2, 9:43 AM CT
Angel Pagan is garnering trade interest, according to FOX Sports.

Our View: Pagan has value to other teams, as he could be used as a No. 1 center fielder. The Royals are among the teams interested in the 28-year-old vet, but the Mets do not want Jose Guillen in return.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 10/4, 3:10 PM CT
Angel Pagan finished a home run away from the cycle on Sunday as the Mets blanked the Astros 4-0. Pagan went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, and two runs scored.

Our View: The Astros couldn't keep Pagan off base today, and he was a thorn in their side from the start. He has had a very nice season, which is saying something considering he plays fr the Mets, but he proved he can produce at this level when called upon.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 9/29, 10:51 PM CT
Angel Pagan went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in the Mets 4-3 loss to the Nationals.

Our View: In this lost season for the Mets, Pagan has been a bright spot. The leadoff hitter is batting .302 with six homers and 32 RBI in 324 at-bats this season. He'll likely go back to a reserve role next year though when the team is healthy once again.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsThursday 9/10, 10:27 PM CT
Angel Pagan went 3-for-4 with a walk in the Mets' embarrassing 13-4 loss to the Marlins.

Our View: Pagan is now hitting .313 on the season and currently has a ten-game hitting streak. Seven of those ten games have produced multiple hit affairs.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 8/30, 8:02 PM CT
Angel Pagan went 3-for-5 in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Cubs. All three hits were singles.

Our View: Pagan is hitting .301 this month and has nine multi-hit games in August, including three in his last four games.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 8/23, 3:29 PM CT
Angel Pagan homered twice off of Pedro Martinez on Sunday, but it wasn't enough for the Mets, as they lost 9-7 at home.

Our View: The multi-homer game was the second of his career, with the first coming all the way back on July 2, 2006 against the White Sox in interleague play.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 8/14, 8:40 PM CT
Angel Pagan's leadoff homer was all Bobby Parnell and the Mets would need on Friday night, as the Amazins shutdown the Giants 3-0 at Citi Field.

Our View: Pagan has 13 RBI in 12 games this month, but isn't worth owning outside of NL-only leagues.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 8/5, 3:37 PM CT
The typically light-hitting Angel Pagan went 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple and four RBI in the Mets' 9-0 blowout of the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Our View: Pagan is hitting .309 this season and is making a case for NL-only lineups with his surprising month of August. He's hitting .444 with a pair of homers and 11 RBI in the five games this month.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsMonday 8/3, 9:15 PM CT
Angel Pagan went 2-for-3 with an RBI in tonight's 6-5 loss to Arizona at Citi Field. He hit a single and a triple, and also swiped a base.

Our View: The Mets suffered another disappointing loss tonight, but fantasy owners should be pleased with Pagan's solid performance. He raised his batting average a few more points to .297.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSaturday 8/1, 9:35 PM CT
Angel Pagan carried the Mets in tonight's 9-6 win over the Diamondbacks at Citi Field, as he went 2-for-4 with five RBI. He hit a double and a grand slam off Clay Zavada.

Our View: That marked Pagan's first home run of the season, and he certainly made it count. He raised his batting average to .295 tonight as well.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 7/22, 8:45 PM CT
Angel Pagan scored the Mets only run Wednesday on an error, as the Amazins lost 3-1 in Washington.

Our View: The Mets are rarely even lucky enough to score on an error, so this was a big night for Pagan. In all seriousness, he was on base after tripling, and has helped provide a spark for a mightily struggling Mets offense since being called back up.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 7/10, 3:18 PM CT
As expected, Angel Pagan has been activated and will play center field and bat leadoff tonight, according to the New York Post.

Our View: Pagan is just a career .266 hitter, but the hope is he can help jump start things for the Mets beleaguered offense. Still, Pagan's grandmother would probably be an upgrade for the Mets right now, so that isn't saying much. He is not worth an add in any format.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 7/10, 10:40 AM CT
Angel Pagan could be activated from the disabled list as early as Friday before the Mets game against the Reds, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: Pagan has been out since June 1 with a strained right groin. He was batting .333 in 42 at-bats before the injury, and could give the Mets injury-decimated lineup a big boost. He likely won't warrant serious fantasy consideration, though.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsMonday 7/6, 1:31 PM CT
Angel Pagan is said to be nearing a return to the Mets, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: The Mets decimated outfield (well, roster) could use any fresh bodies at this point, but the trick for Pagan will be staying healthy. If he does, he is a decent hitter, though not good enough for fantasy consideration.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 6/17, 5:13 PM CT
Angel Pagan (groin) could begin his rehab assignment this weekend, according to the Daily News. He has appeared in just 14 games this season for the Mets.

Our View: Pagan also had a bone spur removed from his elbow in spring training. He is nothing more than a reserve who gets some spot starts, which negates his fantasy value.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsMonday 6/1, 4:35 PM CT
Angel Pagan has been placed on the 15-day DL with a groin injury, according to the New York Post. Alex Cora is expected to come off the DL tomorrow to fill Pagan's roster spot.

Our View: Pagan does not hold much value as a reserve outfielder, and should not be missed in fantasy leagues while recovering.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsMonday 6/1, 10:36 AM CT
According to the New York Post, Mets' outfielder Angel Pagan is set to undergo an MRI on his injured right groin. Manager Jerry Manuel doesn't expect good news. "I don't think that's a day-to-day deal," Manuel told the paper.

Our View: Pagan isn't a fantasy option, but it looks like he may be out for a good chunk of time. He wasn't even supposed to be in the lineup on Sunday, but he was a late replacement for Carlos Beltran, who was out with a stomach virus. Tough break for Pagan.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 5/31, 1:21 PM CT
The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that Angel Pagan left Sunday's game in the fourth inning with what is being called right groin discomfort. He was replaced in center field by Jeremy Reed.

Our View: Pagan wasn't even supposed to play today, but he got the call after Carlos Beltran was scratched with a stomach illness. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, but it is likely the Mets won't rush him back since he is not a regular starter.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 5/19, 1:07 AM CT
Angel Pagan collected four hits and a runs scored while serving as the leadoff hitter in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Dodgers on Monday night. He played left field in his first start of the season.

Our View: Pagan has only been with the team a few days of this season, and he has rarely been a good fantasy option in the past. The Mets feature too much depth in their outfield to warrant adding him in most formats, although he could see more action in AL ballparks during interleague play.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 5/17, 2:18 PM CT
Angel Pagan has been recalled by the Mets from Triple-A Buffalo, according to Newsday. Carlos Delgado was placed on the 15-day DL as the corresponding move.

Our View: Pagan is a career .259 hitter and offers little speed or power. The reserve outfielder will only hold value in deeper NL-only leagues. He underwent surgery March 11 to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSaturday 5/16, 12:21 PM CT
According to the New York Daily News, the Mets plan to activate Angel Pagan today when Carlos Delgado inevitably lands on the DL.

Our View: Pagan hit .286 in limited time in Triple-A this season and holds no fantasy value as a reserve bat off the bench.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 5/8, 1:29 PM CT
Angel Pagan has been arrested for several traffic violations in Martin County, Florida, according to MLB.com. Pagan was stopped by Florida Highway State Troopers on Thursday for speeding on Interstate 95, and it was discovered that he was driving on a suspended license with several warrants.

Our View: Pagan has been rehabbing from right elbow surgery at the Mets' spring training complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The injury prevented him from winning a bench role with the Mets.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 4/28, 7:34 AM CT
Angel Pagan is around a month away from being able to participate in a game while recovering from right elbow surgery, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: The 27-year-old would not hold much fantasy value while working as a reserve outfielder. He is a career .259 hitter, and offers little speed or power.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 3/15, 10:25 AM CT
Outfielder Angel Pagan is expected to resume throwing in four weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a bone spur in his right elbow four days ago, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: After Pagan begins throwing near the middle of April, he will then need an additional two to five weeks to round into playing shape for a spot in the Mets outfield.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 3/11, 5:52 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Angel Pagan underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow on Wednesday. He is expected to miss six to nine weeks.

Our View: Pagan didn't play after May 12 last season because of a torn labrum in his shoulder. He is currently battling for a reserve spot in the Mets outfield.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 3/10, 1:16 PM CT
Angel Pagan is considering surgery for the bone spur in his right elbow, which was revealed by Monday's MRI, according to the NY Post.

Our View: He would miss 6-8 weeks if he opts for surgery. If so, he would not be worth drafting as a reserve outfielder.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 3/8, 10:11 AM CT
Angel Pagan will undergo an MRI Monday for his ailing right elbow, according to the NY Post.

Our View: He has been hindered by swelling, and he could be in jeopardy of not making the Mets' roster if forced to miss extended time.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 3/6, 12:24 PM CT
Angel Pagan has been scratched from today's lineup due to soreness in his right elbow, according to Newsday.

Our View: The ailment affords Cory Sullivan more playing time today. Pagan needs to return soon while fighting for a reserve role in a crowded Mets' outfield.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSaturday 2/28, 5:31 PM CT
Angel Pagan had a good day leading off for the Mets on Saturday, going 2-for-4 with with a run and a walk. He also swiped a base in the second inning.

Our View: Pagan could make the team with a decent spring, but the Mets have some depth in the outfield with Ryan Church, Carlos Beltran, Fernando Tatis, Daniel Murphy, and Jeremy Reed. Beltran and Church are locks as is Tatis if he has a decent spring after the solid year he had last season.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 2/18, 7:24 AM CT
Angel Pagan will have a tough battle in his bid to earn a roster spot in a deep Mets' outfield, according to the NY Post. Pagan's spot in left field is currently occupied by Fernando Tatis and Daniel Murphy, with Jeremy Reed also in the mix.

Our View: The final outfield spot could come down to Pagan or Reed. Either way, Pagan's fantasy value would be limited.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 1/21, 8:27 AM CT
The New York Post reports Angel Pagan and the Mets have agreed to a one-year deal worth $575,00.

Our View: Pagan had season-ending surgery on his left labrum (shoulder) last July. He is a backup with the team who offers fantasy owners very little.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 7/25, 10:21 AM CT
Angel Pagan has opted to undergo season-ending surgery on the torn labrum in his left shoulder, according to the NY Post. Dr. David Altchek will perform the operation at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Our View: He fared well as a reserve with the Mets this season, as he hit .275 with 13 RBI over 91 at-bats.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 7/18, 5:13 PM CT
Angel Pagan is probably going to have shoulder surgery and miss the remainder of the season, according to the New York Post. He is suffering from a torn left laburm.

Our View: Pagan was a part-time player hitting .275 with no home runs and 13 RBI, so he carried little value in fantasy terms.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsThursday 7/17, 4:10 PM CT
Angel Pagan has suffered a setback during action with Single-A Brooklyn on Wednesday, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View: The injury was not disclosed, but he was recovering from a left shoulder contusion. He was previously hoping to return from the DL shortly after the All-Star break.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsThursday 7/10, 4:09 PM CT
Angel Pagan's shoulder continues to improve with his rehab work at Port St. Lucie and he is hopeful of returning to the Mets shortly after the All-Star break, according to the New York Post.

Our View: With Moises Alou likely done for the year with a torn hamstring, Pagan could pick up some at-bats in the outfield, though the club would be fooling itself if it was counting on Pagan being anything more than a depth player.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 7/1, 9:08 AM CT
Angel Pagan continues to rehab his shoulder in hopes of returning to the Mets lineup, but it appears that he might have to opt for season ending surgery, according to Mets Blog.

Our View: Apparently Pagan can throw just fine, but he still is unable to swing the lumber without discomfort. Pagan was a nice early story, but those memories have quickly faded.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 6/3, 7:33 AM CT
Angel Pagan is still not close to returning to action, according to MetsBlog.com. He still cannot bat from the right side of the plate. He is slowly recovering from a left shoulder contusion.

Our View: Moises Alou is due back by the end of the week, meaning Nick Evans' stint with the club could end.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsMonday 5/26, 11:11 AM CT
Angel Pagan is not close to returning from the DL due to his left shoulder injury, according to the NY Post.

Our View: Nick Evans could stick around for a while, after racking up three doubles in his debut on Saturday.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 5/13, 5:05 PM CT
Angel Pagan (shoulder) was placed on the DL on Tuesday, according to MLB.com. Third baseman Fernando Tatis was recalled to take his roster spot.

Our View: Why the Mets let him pinch hit on Sunday is a mystery as it pushes back Pagan's return date. Tatis, yes that Tatis, was hitting .242-12-31 in 37 games for the Triple-A Zephyrs.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 5/11, 3:53 PM CT
Angel Pagan made an appearance as a pinch-hitter on Sunday. It was his first activity since suffering a bruised labrum in his left shoulder on Sunday, the AP reports. Pagan struck out.

Our View: Pagan won't have much fantasy value as long as Carlos Beltran, Moises Alou, and Ryan Church are healthy.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 5/11, 9:33 AM CT
Angel Pagan was available to pinch-run on Saturday, but he isn't ready to field or hit. He is dealing with an injured left shoulder. "It's getting better every day," Pagan tells the New York Post. "Let's give it two more days [of rest] to see if I can do more."

Our View: Pagan doesn't have much fantasy value while Moises Alou it out. We'll update his status in the coming days.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsThursday 5/8, 9:40 AM CT
Angel Pagan is bound for an MRI in New York today, after injuring his left shoulder on a great catch in the first inning of yesterday's win over the Dodgers, according to the NY Post. Pagan drove his shoulder into a folding seat after flipping over a concrete wall along the third-base line while catching a pop-up by Andre Ethier. Pagan said, "I was trying to play through it, but it just kept getting worse and worse. I had to stop because it got to be too much."

Our View: Endy Chavez replaced Pagan in the field. Pagan racked up 13 RBI, 13 runs, and four stolen bases over 31 games, with seven doubles and one triple. The team will miss his speed on the base paths if he is forced to miss time.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 5/7, 3:45 PM CT
Mets left fielder Angel Pagan left Wednesday's game in the third inning against the Dodgers with what is assumed to be a right shoulder injury.

Our View: Pagan was hurt trying to make an over the fence (railing) catch on a foul ball. He was replaced by Endy Chavez.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsMonday 4/21, 8:02 PM CT
With the return of Moises Alou to the lineup likely to occur later this week, Angel Pagan will return to the bench despite a .311 average, this according to MLB.com. "What it's all about is just being ready," Pagan said. "You might be the biggest at-bat in the game, so you've got to really be ready for that."

Our View: Everyone with a brain knows that there is no chance that Alou plays without incident the rest of the way, so look for the Mets to keep Pagan active with spot starts and pinch hitting duties to keep him sharp.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsTuesday 4/15, 6:35 PM CT
Despite Angel Pagan's .385 batting average, the Mets are insisting he will not retain his starting role when Moises Alou returns from the disabled list.

Our View: Alou has yet to begin his minor league rehab assignment but is expected to sometime next week.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSaturday 4/12, 12:13 PM CT
Angel Pagan will be the leadoff hitter today when the Mets host the Brewers in the second contest of a three-game set.

Our View: Jose Reyes is out with a hamstring strain, and there is no definitive timetable for his return. Pagan has a .462 OBP through the first nine games of the season.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsFriday 4/11, 9:48 PM CT
Angel Pagan continued his amazing start to the season as he picked up two hits and an RBI on Friday night. Pagan, playing for an injured Moises Alou, is now hitting .387 with 10 RBI in nine games, much greater production than anyone would have thought possible two weeks ago. Still, he will lose AB once Alou returns, so ride him while he is hot but be ready to go in another direction when the time comes.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 4/9, 9:43 PM CT
Angel Pagan hit a two-run double for the Mets and scored a run in the Wednesday night win over Philadelphia. Pagan, who is replacing the injured Moises Alou in left field, has been solid so far. His .318 batting average and eight RBI has assisted fantasy owners who believed in the ex-Cub.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSaturday 3/22, 8:21 AM CT
Angel Pagan is poised to earn the starting left field job for the Mets on opening day, this according to the New York Post. The ex-Cub is filling in for the injured Moises Alou this spring. Pagan started in left today as part of a lineup that Willie Randolph said looked a lot like the one the Mets will take to Miami on March 31. Pagan went 2-for-2 with a triple, raising his spring average to .355.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsThursday 3/13, 9:44 AM CT
Angel Pagan , who hit a two-run home run as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning Wednesday, is batting .419 with 10 RBI in 15 games this spring. According to Matthew Cerrone's Mets Blog, Willie Randolph told the New York media after Wednesday's win that Pagan is talented. “I’ve seen this happen a lot in spring training. The guys in a good rhythm, in a good groove, and determined to make the team. I’ve seen that before, where guys go crazy in spring training. Like I said, he’s in great shape, he’s matured a lot since the last time I saw him and he’s having a real good spring so far." The injury to Moises Alou opens the door for Pagan to get the call for opening day, and if he continues to perform in March, there is little reason to believe the Willie "Wheels" Randolph, won't give him the opportunity.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 3/12, 3:42 PM CT
Angel Pagan didn't get the start on Wednesday, but made the most of his at-bat in the seventh by hitting a two-run home run. Pagan is a reserve option in deep mixed formats and if the Mets injury woes continue, he could make the opening day roster as the fourth outfielder.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsSunday 1/6, 5:04 PM CT
The Cubs traded Angel Pagan to the Mets Saturday in exchange for two minor leaguers, outfielder Corey Coles and righty Ryan Meyers. Pagan batted .264 with four home runs and 21 RBI for Chicago last year. He'll back up at all three outfield positions in New York.
Angel Pagan, CF, New York MetsWednesday 8/8, 4:46 PM CT
