Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 1/19, 6:31 PM CT
According to the Associated Press, the Royals and right-hander Robinson Tejeda agreed on a one-year, $950,000 contract, avoiding arbitration.

Our View: Tejeda was impressive last season when he joined the Royals rotation, posting a 2.84 ERA in six starts. Over the full season he was 4-2 with a 3.54 ERA in 35 games and will have a chance earn a spot in Kansas City's starting five.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 9/30, 9:49 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda gave up three earned runs on four hits over five innings in Wednesday's 4-3 win at the Yankees. He had three walks with five strikeouts, and surrendered two homers.

Our View: The game was tied at 3-3 when Tejeda exited, so he ends the night with a no-decision rather than a win for his decent performance. He bounced back after issuing five earned runs over 4.1 innings in his previous start against Minnesota.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/25, 11:15 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda was roughed up for six runs (five earned) on two hits over 4.1 innings in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Twins at Kauffman Stadium. He had seven walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Tejeda had poor control tonight, and fell off track after allowing one or less earned runs in each of his previous four starts.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 9/20, 3:59 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda pitched six innings of one-run ball on Sunday, helping the Royals to hard-fought 2-1 victory over the White Sox on the road.

Our View: Tejeda has pitched very effectively since being inserted into the Royals' rotation earlier this month. In four starts, he is now 3-0 with a miniscule 0.81 ERA. He's likely pitched his way into the team's 2010 starting five.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 9/17, 10:25 AM CT
The Kansas City Star reports that right-hander Robinson Tejeda is dealing with a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand.

Our View: The blister apparently is affecting how he throws his changeup, and the Royals are concerned. They'll watch him closely in his next start on Sunday against the White Sox. Tejeda has only allowed one run in three starts since joining the rotation in place of an injured Gil Meche and could be a nice boost for AL-only teams.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 9/15, 10:05 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda only surrendered one earned run on two hits over five innings in Tuesday's 11-1 win at Detroit. He issued four walks with five strikeouts.

Our View: It was a solid outing for Tejeda, despite the four free passes. He improved his record to 3-1 and trimmed his ERA to 3.09. He impressively only allowed one earned run over his three starts (16.1 innings) in September.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 9/9, 10:32 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda silenced the Tigers on Wednesday night, allowing no runs in six innings, as Kansas City won 5-1 at home.

Our View: In two starts this season, the usual reliever Tejeda has now allowed only four hits in 11.1 innings. He could very well be landing himself a spot in Kansas City's 2010 rotation.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/4, 11:02 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda only allowed one hit over 5.1 scoreless innings in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Angels at Kauffman Stadium. He had two walks and fired six strikeouts.

Our View: The Royals were leading 1-0 when Tejeda exited, so he ends the night with a no-decision. He did a fine job while making a spot-start in place of the injured Gil Meche (shoulder fatigue).
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/4, 4:13 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda will make a spot-start in place of the ailing Gil Meche (shoulder fatigue) tonight against the Angels, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Tejeda will be making his first start of 2009, and the 48th of his career. He has a 4.07 ERA and 1.38 ERA over 42 innings of relief, and is not a recommended fantasy option.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 6/20, 1:21 PM CT
According to ESPN.com, the Royals activated reliever Robinson Tejeda from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.

Our View: Tejeda is a solid middle reliever and will help a struggling Royals bullpen. He holds a 1.69 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 10.2 innings this season. Kyle Davies was demoted to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 6/11, 9:28 AM CT
Robinson Tejeda will start his minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Double-A Northwest Arkansas. He has not pitched for the Royals since being diagnosed with tendinitis in his right rotator cuff on May 20.

Our View: Tejeda is a strong middle relief option for the Royals. He has 16 strikeouts through 10.2 innings of work and carries a 1.69 ERA.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 5/25, 7:31 AM CT
Robinson Tejeda has been placed on the 15-day DL by the Royals with tendinitis in his right rotator cuff, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He had a 2.65 ERA and a poor 1.53 WHIP over 17 innings of relief, but held some fantasy value with 23 strikeouts. The DL move is retroactive to May 21.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/26, 6:38 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda is still nursing a strained hip flexor and may not return during the Royals' final three-game set with the Twins, according to the KC Star.

Our View: He has been among the Royals' top pitchers this season with a 1.13 WHIP, and there is no point risking further injury with the Royals out of the playoff race.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 9/23, 9:33 AM CT
Robinson Tejeda, who is recovering from a hip flexor injury, threw long toss Monday and remains hopeful of returning before the end of the season, according to the KC Star.

Our View: He is hopeful, but remains a longshot to return. He would have to throw a full bullpen session and then likely throw to live hitters, with just a handful of days left in the season.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 9/21, 11:52 AM CT
Royals reliever Robinson Tejeda did not suffer a tear of his left hip flexor, but instead it was a strain, according to the Kansas City Star. It is unlikely he will return this season.

Our View: Tejada has been okay this season, but as a middle reliever he done has not hold very much fantasy value.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/19, 10:31 PM CT
The AP reports that Robinson Tejeda left Friday night's game with the White Sox with a strained left hip flexor after throwing a wild pitch in the seventh.

Our View: The severity of the injury is unknown. We will update as more news becomes available.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 9/15, 12:46 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda hurled five strong innings in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Cleveland, but isn't likely to get another start in the rotation, according to the KC Star.

Our View: As a starter he was worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues, but would not hold much value if moved back to the bullpen.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 9/13, 9:25 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda only issued one earned run on two hits over five innings in Saturday's 8-4 win over Cleveland in the second game of the doubleheader, with three walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Tejeda nailed down a win in his first start of 2008, after serving 38.2 innings of relief. He would merit fantasy consideration in deeper AL-only leagues if awarded another start.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/12, 1:41 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda is likely to start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Cleveland, according to the KC Star. Manager Trey Hillman said, "He’s done it before, and he’s fairly well-monitored as far as what we’ve asked from him. The candidates to follow him would be Kip Wells, who can give us multiple innings. Joel Peralta might be thrown in there."

Our View: Tejeda pitched primarily as a starter in his 10-year MLB career before moving to the bullpen this season. He holds a 4.19 ERA over 38.2 innings, with a solid 1.09 WHIP. He is worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 6/25, 10:33 AM CT
The Royals made another bullpen move before Tuesday’s game by claiming right-hander Robinson Tejeda on waivers from the Texas Rangers, this according to the KC Star. “Our scouts liked him as someone with a power arm,” Royals general manager Dayton Moore said. “He can be used in a variety of roles, whether it’s long or short. We feel he still has some upside."

Our View: Tejeda has never lived up to the potential placed on him, however, a move out of Texas may be just what the right-hander needs. Tejeda has appeared in 63 big-league games, including 46 starts, over parts of the last four seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and Rangers. He spent most of this season at Class AAA Oklahoma, where he was 1-1 with a 2.18 ERA in 10 appearances.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 6/24, 1:42 PM CT
The Royals have claimed pitcher Robinson Tejeda off waivers from the Rangers, according to the AP. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Royals transferred John Bale to the 60-day DL.

Our View: Tejeda allowed six earned runs, five hits, and five walks over six brief innings with Texas this season. His fantasy value will not improve with the Royals.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 6/14, 8:20 PM CT
The Rangers have designated pitcher Robinson Tejeda for assignments, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Texas needed room to add Kason Gabbard to the roster and the belief that RHP Joaquin Benoit will be ready to hurl on Tuesday led to this transaction today.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 5/30, 5:30 PM CT
Robinson Tejeda has been called up from Triple-A Oklahoma, according to the Star-Telegram. He was brought in to cover the roster spot for Kason Gabbard, who has been placed on the DL.

Our View: Tejeda was pitching well as a starter at Oklahoma, but he will work out of the Rangers' bullpen when he joins the team. He is yet to make an appearance in 2008.

Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 3/29, 10:14 AM CT
The Rangers likely will designate Robinson Tejeda for assignment this weekend, according to the Dallas Morning News. He's out of minor league options, and Friday's acquistion of Dustin Nippert effectively knocked Tejada off of the Rangers roster.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 7/23, 9:15 PM CT
The Rangers sent Robinson Tejeda back to Triple-A Oklahoma on Monday, a move the team hopes will result in longer-term success when he returns, according to the AP. He was 5-9 with a 6.61 ERA in 19 starts for Texas. Rangers manager Ron Washington said Tejeda needs to get a consistent delivery. "He has to make sure he incorporates one delivery instead of all these different deliveries which cause his ball to be scattered all over the place," Washington said.

Our View: Texas clearly thinks Tejeda has a lot of upside once he becomes consistent. His stay in the minors could be brief depending on how fast he turns things around.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 7/8, 7:23 AM CT
Robinson Tejeda was optioned to Triple-A Saturday, with Wes Littleton taking his spot on the roster. Tejada hasn't done much right in the rotation this year, with a 6.70 ERA and 1.74 ratio.

Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 5/11, 9:57 AM CT
Robinson Tejeda is still dealing with pain in his forearm, and the Rangers are considering pushing his next start (scheduled for Tuesday) back to Friday, according to the Dallas Morning News. "We've just got to get everything right," pitching coach Mark Connor said. "I don't want him going out there if he's got pain. He wasn't finishing pitches off last night. We will just take it day by day and see where we are when Tuesday approaches. We don't need any heroes." The team is expected to make a decision on Tejeda's status over the weekend.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 5/9, 11:25 PM CT

"It's nothing we're worried about, just a chance to give him one more day," manager Ron Washington said. Mike Wood is now in line to start today against the Yankees.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 4/30, 9:08 AM CT
Robinson Tejeda had a bit of left hamstring tightness during his Friday start and is receiving treatment on it, the Dallas Morning News reports. The Rangers do not expect the hamstring to impact his availability for his scheduled start against the Yankees on Wednesday.
Robinson Tejeda, P, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 4/6, 8:54 PM CT
