Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 10/9, 4:47 PM CT
According to Todd Zolecki on Twitter, Jamie Moyer has been hospitalized since Wednesday with a blood infection.

Our View: Moyer underwent surgery last week to repair torn tendons in his groin, effectively ending his season, and the blood infection is likely a complication of that. The team reports that he is okay though, and the 46-year old lefty is expected o be ready for spring training 2010.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 10/6, 4:30 PM CT
Jamie Moyer underwent his abdominal surgery last Friday, according to Scott Lauber's (The News Journal) twitter page.

Our View: The 46-year-old hurler is walking one mile a day on the treadmill, and is yet to take any pain pills. He is expected to be ready to participate at the start of spring training.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 10/1, 8:56 AM CT
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Phillies' pitcher Jamie Moyer should be ready in time for spring training next season after his groin surgery. Moyer injured himself in his relief appearance on Tuesday night.

Our View: Moyer might be ready to go by the time spring training kicks off next season, but the question is whether or not he decides to come back for another major league season. It has been a rough year for Moyer, first getting taken out of the rotation and now going down before the playoffs and needing surgery. We wouldn't be at all surprised if he called it a career.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 9/30, 7:27 PM CT
Jamie Moyer is done for the season after tearing two tendons in his groin and one in his lower abdominal area, according to the New York Times.

Our View: There goes the Phillies' long-man for the postseason. And obviously, at age 46, this could sadly be the last we ever see of Moyer. In over 3,900 career innings, he owns a 258-195 record.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 9/30, 11:52 AM CT
Phillies' reliever Jamie Moyer left Tuesday's game with a left groin strain, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. No word yet on the severity of the injury.

Our View: Moyer will be the long man in the Phils bullpen for the postseason if he is healthy enough to do so, but we don't know how bad the injury is as of yet. We will keep you updated on his condition, so stay tuned.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 9/22, 9:50 PM CT
Jamie Moyer pitched well on Tuesday against the Marlins, but his offense failed to show up. He allowed just three runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings, but took the loss as the Phillies got shut out 3-0.

Our View: Since returning to the Phillies rotation, the ageless wonder is 0-1 in three starts, but has pitched better than his record would indicate. Two of the three were quality starts.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 9/12, 6:53 PM CT
After allowing four first inning runs on Saturday, Jamie Moyer settled down and pitched six innings of one-run ball as Philly staked him an 8-5 lead. He would end up with a no-decision, however, as Philadelphia's bullpen again melted down, allowing the Mets to win 10-9.

Our View: Saturday epitomized the gutsy Moyer. At age 46, obviously his stuff is far from top notch, but his craft is still second to none, however. Expect him to be again fooling hitters in 2010.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 9/9, 6:57 PM CT
Jamie Moyer will make another spot-start in place of the ailing J.A. Happ, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Moyer will take the hill Saturday against the Mets. The 46-year-old hurler gets the call, as he allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last five starts.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 9/7, 4:47 PM CT
Jamie Moyer allowed two earned runs on three hits over six innings in Monday's 4-3 loss at Houston. He had one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: Moyer pitched well, but was forced to settle for a no-decision. The 46-year-old hurler is in the zone right now, as he allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last five starts.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 8/18, 10:14 PM CT
Jamie Moyer entered Tuesday's game in relief of Pedro Martinez after a rain delay and shut down the Diamondbacks for six straight innings.

Our View: Moyer allowed just two hits, didn't walk a man and fanned five while on the hill. He wasn't happy about being demoted to the bullpen, but looks like he did just fine Tuesday.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 8/11, 4:55 PM CT
Jamie Moyer is unhappy about being moved to the bullpen and feels "misled," according to MLBlogs.com.

Our View: "I'm really not happy with this decision that the Phillies have made," the ageless lefty said on Tuesday. "We're still in first place. I probably feel like I haven't contributed as well as I could have, but I think if you go around to the other 24 players on our club they would probably say the same type of thing." All-in-all, this is just a sad situation. Pedro is no sure thing, so Moyer could be back at some point, but the team may have been better off just releasing the super vet so he could start somewhere.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 8/10, 3:25 PM CT
Jamie Moyer has been moved to the bullpen to make room for Pedro Martinez, according to the Twitter page of Phillies' beat writer Todd Zolecki. Moyer has struggled for much of this season, posting a 10-9 record but carrying a 5.47 ERA.

Our View: Moyer has been the weak link in the Phillies' rotation this season, but it is still a bit of a shocker that they would move the veteran to the bullpen. They must really like what they have seen from J.A. Happ, because he is staying in the rotation while Moyer is out. Any fantasy value Moyer had is obviously gone after this move.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 8/9, 5:05 PM CT
Jamie Moyer allowed three runs (two earned) on 11 hits over five innings in Sunday's 12-3 loss to the Marlins at Citizens Bank Park. He had one walk and one strikeout.

Our View: Moyer falls to 10-9, and only has one win over his last four starts. He carries a 5.47 ERA and the 46-year-old vet should only be considered for NL-only leagues for his next battle.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 8/4, 10:05 PM CT
Jamie Moyer struggled again on Tuesday as he was hit with the loss in Philadelphia's 8-3 defeat at the hands of the Rockies. Moyer went six innings and allowed six runs on six hits while walking four and striking out three.

Our View: Moyer is 10-8 on the season, but he has been far from spectacular with his 5.55 ERA. The ageless wonder may finally be showing his age, but he should still be able to be a source of wins playing for the Phillies.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 7/27, 11:47 PM CT
Jamie Moyer only issued six hits over 6.2 scoreless innings in Monday's 6-2 win at Arizona. He had four walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: It was a strong outing for Moyer, despite the four free passes. Moyer has earned a win in six of his last seven starts, and the 46-year-old hurler leads the Phillies with 10 wins.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 7/22, 4:14 PM CT
Coming off his best start of the season, Jamie Moyer snapped his personal five game winning streak, and the Phillies ten game winning streak on Thursday, pitching five rocky innings, as the Cubs won 10-5 in Philadelphia.

Our View: The ageless wonder finally came back down to Earth on Wednesday. He's not an exceptional play in mixed formats, but is not a bad spot starter, either. You have to expect anything when he pitches, but more often than not lately, it's been wins.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 7/16, 8:48 PM CT
Jamie Moyer had far and away the best start of his season on Thursday, allowing just one hit in seven innings as the Phillies beat the Marlins 4-0 in Miami.

Our View: After looking perilously close to being done earlier in the year, Moyer has lowered his ERA from a season-high 8.15 on May 13 to 5.58. He still allows a fair amount of runs, but is a good option in NL-only leagues, and a decent spot-starting option in mixed leagues depending on his opponent.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 7/9, 9:32 PM CT
Jamie Moyer gave up six earned runs on eight hits over five innings in Thursday's 9-6 win over the Reds at Citizens Bank Park. He had one walk and two strikeouts, and allowed two homers.

Our View: Moyer had a poor outing, but his teammates provided enough run support for him to claim his eighth win of the season. He has a four-game winning streak, and shall remain active in fantasy lineups.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 7/4, 6:12 PM CT
Jamie Moyer won his third straight start on Saturday, and lowered his ERA to below 6.00, as the Phillies beat the hapless Mets 4-1.

Our View: Moyer looked done earlier this season, but pitched relatively effectively for most of June and has now gotten off to a good start in July. He shouldn't be more than a spot starter for your team, but he is no longer fantasy poison.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 6/23, 10:06 PM CT
Jamie Moyer scattered five hits over six innings on Tuesday, and lowered his ERA to below six for the first time since May 2, as the Phillies romped 10-1 over the Rays.

Our View: Moyer is no longer even a viable spot starting option because of his tendency to get bombed, but it is good to see the ageless lefty pitching effectively. Root for him, just don't add him to your team.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 6/11, 9:22 PM CT
Jamie Moyer gave up three earned runs on eight hits over six innings in Thursday's 6-3 win at New York. He issued no walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Moyer took a no-decision, and is 1-0 over his last three starts, allowing six total earned runs over the span. He is pitching better after struggling with an 8.01 ERA and four losses in May.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 6/6, 12:48 AM CT
Jamie Moyer only allowed two earned runs on four hits over seven innings in Friday's 4-3 loss at Los Angeles. He had three strikeouts with no walks.

Our View: Moyer pitched well, but took a no-decision rather than a win due to poor run support from his teammates. His record remains at 4-5, with a poor 6.27 ERA.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 5/31, 4:50 PM CT
Jamie Moyer logged his best start of the year against Washington on Sunday, picking up his fourth win of the year by allowing one run off three hits and one walk while striking out four in six innings.

Our View: It's always nice to see the 46-year-old continue to baffle major league hitters. Unfortunately, Moyer's solid outings have been too few and far between this season, and starts against the Nationals can usually be taken with a grain of salt, thus Moyer should remain in the free agency pool in all but the deepest of NL-only leagues.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 5/20, 11:27 PM CT
Jamie Moyer was hit with his fourth loss on Wednesday as the Phillies fell to the Reds 5-1. Moyer went six innings and allowed three runs on nine hits while walking one and striking out two.

Our View: Moyer has not been good this season, but he actually wasn't bad tonight. His team couldn't figure out Reds' starter Aaron Harang, but he still gave up another home run, which has been his Achilles' Heel so far this year. It may be wise to find another option, as Moyer is not a young man and it doesn't look like he has much left in the tank.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 5/18, 1:19 PM CT
Jamie Moyer's next start has been pushed back from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Cole Hamels will now pitch Tuesday. Skipper Charlie Manuel moved Moyer back a day to give him more rest, and to line the struggling hurler up to face the Marlins instead of the Yankees next week. Moyer is 12-1 over his career against Florida.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 5/13, 9:48 PM CT
Jamie Moyer will have to wait another five days to try and win his 250th career game. He missed his chance Wednesday by allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk in just 4.1 innings. His Phillies fell 9-2 to the Dodgers.

Our View: It looks like Father Time may have finally caught up with Jamie Moyer. He now has an 8.15 ERA on the season, and the only reason his record sits at 3-3 is because of massive run support from his team. He's not a good fantasy option at this point.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 5/7, 10:15 PM CT
Jamie Moyer struggled again on Thursday against the Mets, lasting only 2.1 innings and allowing seven runs on seven hits. He walked two and struck out only one.

Our View: The Ageless One looked pretty old tonight, and he has had two bad starts in a row. He will get support from the Phillies' lineup, and he is still smart enough to know how to win games. Don't give up on him just yet.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 5/2, 6:38 PM CT
Jamie Moyer struggled in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Mets at Citizens Bank Park, as he allowed five earned runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings of work. He had four walks with only two strikeouts.

Our View: Moyer pitched poorly, and is lucky he avoided taking a loss today. He is 7-4 over 18 career starts against New York.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 4/26, 2:41 PM CT
Jamie Moyer continued his dominance over the Marlins on Sunday and improved to 3-1 on the season. The southpaw allowed seven hits and one run over six innings. He also walked one and struck out six. Moyer is 12-1 over 13 career starts against the Marlins.

Our View: We're not sure why Moyer consistently dominates this NL East opponent, but it's rather comical at this point. Moyer remains a risky fantasy play against every other foe.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 4/13, 5:25 PM CT
Jamie Moyer picked up his first win of the season on Monday as the Phillies beat the Nationals 9-8.

Our View: Moyer went six innings, giving up four earned runs on eight hits while striking out five. He got good run support from his teammates, a trend that will most likely continue throughout the season.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 4/7, 9:30 PM CT
Jamie Moyer allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings on Tuesday as the Phillies dropped a 4-0 decision to Atlanta.

Our View: Moyer surrendered two home runs and also walked a pair of batters. He did a fairly solid job of keeping the ball in the park a season ago, allowing 20 in 196 innings, but he could just as easily revert back to his 2004 form. That season, he allowed a whopping 44 long balls while in Seattle.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 4/2, 4:18 PM CT
Jamie Moyer surrendered nine runs on 11 hits in only four innings on Thursday. He allowed three home runs as well, two of which were hit by Washington's Ryan Zimmerman.

Our View: The 46-year-old Moyer should again be a quality fantasy option, even in deep mixed leagues, but he has now allowed 11 hits in back-to-back starts. If he is unable to get his command back, he'll be in trouble.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 3/28, 4:23 PM CT
Jamie Moyer and the Phillies fell to the Pirates, 10-4, with Moyer allowing seven runs in 5.2 innings, getting the loss.

Our View: Moyer allowed 11 hits on the day. Surprisingly, he also struck out seven hitters. Fantasy owners would be fine with another 16 wins this season, but his spring performance so far is not inspiring much confidence.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 3/12, 3:06 PM CT
Jamie Moyer wasn't as sharp Thursday as in his past spring performances, and was tagged with the loss. He allowed two runs and six hits over five innings, but his spring ERA stands at an impressive 2.45.

Our View: The ageless one continues to prove everyone wrong and seems to be headed for another successful season. People will shy away from him on draft day because of his age. When that happens, feel free to snatch him up.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 3/7, 6:00 PM CT
Jamie Moyer was excellent against Detroit on Saturday, giving up one run off four hits and one walk while striking out five in four innings.

Our View: Moyer has been solid in each of his two outings this spring. He hasn't been a popular fantasy pick the past few seasons due to his age - he's now 46 - but continues to defy logic and provide quality work in the middle of Philadelphia's starting rotation. He's a wonderful asset in NL-only leagues and also deserves real consideration at the end of mixed-league drafts.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 2/25, 4:45 PM CT
Jamie Moyer got out to a good start with the Phillies in the Grapefruit League on Wednesday, allowing just one hit and two walks over two innings. He also fanned two batters.

Our View: This was just a solid performance for one of the most consistent pitchers in the majors over the last couple of decades. Moyer won't blow anyone away, but he proved that he can still be valuable last year with a 16-7 record and a 3.71 ERA.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 12/15, 1:31 PM CT
Jamie Moyer has reportedly re-signed with the Phillies on a two-year deal, according to WIP-610 Sports Radio.

Our View: The team confirmed the signing, but financial terms were not disclosed. It was previously reported that the Phillies were trying to re-sign him to a two-year deal worth around $15 million.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 12/12, 2:42 PM CT
The Phillies worked late Thursday night to attempt to re-sign Jamie Moyer, according to Sports Illustrated.

Our View: The 46-year-old hurler is believed likely to ink a two-year deal for about $15 million, but it remains unknown if a deal with him is completed.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 12/11, 5:57 PM CT
Brewers GM Doug Melvin said Thursday that he would have interest in free agent starting pitchers Jamie Moyer, John Smoltz, Randy Johnson, and Randy Wolf, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: The Brewers have to replace CC Sabathia and likely Ben Sheets, as both players could leave through free agency with Sabathia already signing with the Yankees.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 12/8, 1:14 PM CT
The Phillies negotiations with Jamie Moyer are not going well and the 46-year-old has employed his old agent (Jim Bronner) to start calling other clubs to gauge their interest, according to ESPN.

Our View: The Phillies and Moyer's biggest issue has been regarding money. He is looking for a sizable raise after leading the champs with 16 wins in 2008.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 12/5, 9:39 AM CT
It is uncertain what is delaying the Phillies' negotiations with Jamie Moyer, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. The source guesses that it is money rather than contract length.

Our View: Moyer's agent indicated that he has talked to other clubs. The 46-year-old nailed down 16 wins for the MLB champs in 2008, while maintaining a decent 1.33 WHIP.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 12/1, 11:39 PM CT
Updating earlier reports, the Phillies did not offer Jamie Moyer salary arbitration on Monday, according Philly.com.

Our View: There were reports earlier in the day that said that the Phillies were expected to offer the 46-year-old arbitration.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 12/1, 10:19 AM CT
The Phillies are expected to offer Jamie Moyer salary arbitration, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: The team would like to have the 46-year-old pitcher back and Moyer feels the same way. He maintained a 1.33 WHIP while nailing down 16 wins for the champs in 2008.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 11/14, 8:03 AM CT
Free agent hurler Jamie Moyer reiterated that he wants to return to the Phillies, possibly with a two-year deal, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: He will turn 46 later this month, but did not show his age in 2008 by maintaining a 1.33 WHIP over 196.1 innings, while nailing down 16 wins.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 11/1, 9:56 AM CT
Free agent pitcher Jamie Moyer wants to return to the Phillies, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Moyer is 46 and has just won a World Championship, but a solid season has him in line to make a few more million. He was 16-7 with a 3.71 ERA in 2008.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 10/25, 11:42 PM CT
Phillies starter Jamie Moyer threw his customary 82 mph fastballs, which were effective in Game 3 of the World Series as he went 6.1 innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs while also striking out five.

Our View: Moyer was good in his start, and did all he could to give Philadelphia a chance to win the game.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 10/25, 12:55 PM CT
45-year-old Jamie Moyer will make his first start in a World Series game tonight at home against the Rays, according to the AP. Moyer said, "It’s very special to have the opportunity to just be in the World Series. But to have it be in the city that you grew up in, more or less, is very special. To get the start for Game 3 is something that I’ve been dreaming about for my whole life."

Our View: He was born in Sellersville, PA, and has a shot to give the underdog Phillies a lead in the series, as it is currently tied 1-1.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 10/19, 1:24 PM CT
Jamie Moyer has been slated to take the hill in Game 3 of the World Series, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Cole Hamels will start Game 1, Brett Myers will follow in Game 2, and Joe Blanton will pitch Game 4 after Moyer.

Our View: The 45-year-old vet led the Phillies with 16 wins in the regular season but has been hit hard in the postseason, allowing eight runs in 5.1 innings for a 13.50 ERA. He has suffered the team's two losses, but skipper Charlie Manuel is confident he will bounce back.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 10/12, 9:22 PM CT
Jamie Moyer lasted just 1.1 innings in Game 3 of the NLCS on Sunday. He gave up six runs on six hits. Rafael Furcal's solo home run chased him from the game.

Our View: Perhaps the 45-year-old was a bit worn down from the previous 3746.2 regular season innings he had thrown. Whatever the reason, the Philadelphia left-hander did not have his best stuff in Game 3.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 10/4, 9:30 PM CT
Jamie Moyer allowed two earned runs on four hits over four innings in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Brewers in Game 3 of the NLDS at Miller Park, with three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: The Phillies held a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series heading into tonight's game, but the 45-year-old vet failed to close the door, and Milwaukee survives for Sunday's Game 4.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 9/27, 5:58 PM CT
Jamie Moyer helped pitch the Phillies into the playoffs for the second straight year. In the Phillies' 4-3 win over the Nationals, Moyer went six innings and only gave up one run.

Our View: The ageless one just continues to impress. Moyer won his 16th game of the year and lowered his ERA to 3.71.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 9/21, 7:15 PM CT
Jamie Moyer pitched his way to his 15th victory of the year on Sunday holding the Marlins to just a single run over six innings.

Our View: Amazing. Moyer lowered his ERA to 3.78 and he is now just five victories short of 250 career wins despite the fact that he throws slower than the local high school phenom in your area. Moyer continues to throw strikes while keeping hitters off balance as he defies Father Time.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 9/10, 10:22 AM CT
Phillies left-hander Jamie Moyer will pitch on three days rest in order to face the Brewers on Thursday, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View: Moyer has had a good season for fantasy owners, so be sure to adjust your lineup accordingly. He will attempt to pick up his 14th win of the season as Philly tries to nail down a playoff spot.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 9/7, 4:15 PM CT
Jamie Moyer continued his great season, winning his 13th game of the year by going seven innings and allowing just two hits in the Phillies 6-2 win over the Mets.

Our View: Moyer had one rough start in the month of August, but has otherwise been outstanding of late. He is 45 years of age, and will pitch again next year, so his recent play is encouraging in that respect.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 8/27, 8:32 AM CT
45-year-old Jamie Moyer said he plans to pitch next season, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Moyer has pitched very well in 2008, compiling a record of 11-7, with a 3.81 ERA. He also has a WHIP of 1.35, and has a strike out rate of 5.71 batters per nine innings. There's no reason to think he couldn't be of use to fantasy owners again next year.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 8/16, 12:06 AM CT
Jamie Moyer won the old geezer battle Friday, tossing seven shutout innings to beat Greg Maddux and the Padres.

Our View: With a 3.64 ERA over 25 starts, the 45-year-old Moyer is putting together his best season since 2003.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 8/5, 2:41 PM CT
Jamie Moyer is perfect in 10 starts against the Marlins, including three this season. The veteran left-hander sports an impressive 2.79 ERA in his past nine starts, and the Marlins are hitting only .230 against southpaws, last in the majors. Moyer and the Phils host the Marlins and Josh Johnson tonight in a battle for NL East supremacy.

Our View: There are several Fish sticks that have had their success against Moyer, but the crafty left-hander has found a way to squash the muscle in the Marlins lineup and win 10 straight times against Florida.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 7/24, 1:42 PM CT
Jamie Moyer gave up just two hits but walked three in seven innings of work against the Mets on Thursday. He allowed one run and did not factor in the decision.

Our View: Moyer has given up just four runs in his last 20 innings pitched. He remains a far better play on the road where he has a 2.93 ERA compared to a 4.70 mark in Philly.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 7/13, 11:23 PM CT
According to the Phillies team website, Jamie Moyer will open the second half on the mound Friday night in Florida. Kyle Kendrick will follow on Saturday and Cole Hamels will round out the three games series against the Marlins.

Our View: The Phillies aren't sure who will pitch Tuesday and Wednesday against the Mets at Shea Stadium, though it's possible Adam Eaton will start the first game and Brett Myers will return on Wednesday.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 7/10, 3:12 PM CT
Jamie Moyer threw seven strong innings, allowing just one run on seven hits while striking four in the Phillies 4-1 victory over the Cardinals.

Our View: Moyer now has a 3.95 ERA on the season, to go with eight wins. He won't put up big strikeout numbers, but fantasy owners in NL-only leagues should consider him an option.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 7/5, 9:48 PM CT
Jamie Moyer failed to secure his eighth victory of the season on Saturday night though he held the Mets to three runs over 6.2 innings.

Our View: That's five straight outings for Moyer of three or fewer runs allowed as he continues to give his club a chance to win every time he takes the hill, something he has been able to do since roughly the Jurassic age.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 6/29, 8:06 PM CT
Jamie Moyer continues to be a victim of bad run support. The ageless lefty lost his third straight start on Sunday. He allowed three runs over 5.2 innings against the Rangers. Moyer served up seven hits, walked four, and struck out six. He has allowed three or fewer runs in five straight starts.

Our View: The crafty Moyer is pitching about as well as the Phillies can expect, but their lineup has produced a total of 10 runs over his last five outings. We guess karma is swinging back after the Phillies supplied Moyer with an average of nine runs per start in May.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 6/24, 11:53 PM CT
Veteran LHP Jamie Moyer suffered another tough loss this evening as the Phillies fell 5-2 against Oakland. Moyer pitched 6 2/3 innings to allow three runs (all earned) on five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts.

Our View: Moyer has been pitching in the majors since 1986, so losses like this won't phase him, but it does taint what has been an otherwise strong month, going 2-2 with just 12 earned runs allowed over five starts.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 6/24, 2:14 PM CT
Jamie Moyer will be seeking his eighth win of the season tonight when the Phillies battle the Athletics in Oakland, according to MLB.com. Moyer is 7-4 with a 4.09 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 88 innings, with 47 strikeouts.

Our View: In 43 lifetime starts against the Athletics, Moyer is 17-15, including two shutouts, with a 4.46 ERA. But he isn't a favorable fantasy option as a starter, as his WHIP and ERA are a bit high, and he only averages around three strikeouts per start.

Jamie Moyer will be targeting his eighth win of the season tonight when the Phillies host the Red Sox in inter-league play, according to MLB.com. Moyer is 7-3 with a 4.12 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.

Our View: Moyer carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning in his last start against Florida, and ended with eight scoreless innings of work. He is pitching well right now, but only has 43 strikeouts over 83 innings and his WHIP is merely passable, meaning he still isn't a solid option for your roto-rotation.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 6/12, 9:41 PM CT
Jamie Moyer had a no-hitter into the sixth inning and ultimately held the Marlins scoreless for eight innings to pick up his seventh win.

Our View: Moyer eventually allowed two hits and a walk, but as he has done for most of his career, Moyer baffled hitters on this night with a series of slow, and slower, offerings. With the offense behind him he is a solid bet for wins, but he offers nothing in the strikeout department and little help in the ratio categories.

Jamie Moyer picked up his fourth win in as many starts by defeating the Marlins on Sunday. The southpaw allowed five hits and five runs over seven innings. Moyer walked none and struck out three.

Our View: Let's hear it for run support! In Moyer's four wins, the Phillies have scored seven, 20, 12, and 10 runs. They also crossed the plate 11 times when Jamie picked up a win on May 5. Moyer has pitched decently, but fantasy owners shouldn't be fooled by the record.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 5/26, 10:08 PM CT
Jamie Moyer allowed four runs on six hits, walked one and struck out seven Colorado Rockies to earn his 235th career victory.

Our View: He's one shy of tying Whitey Ford and Clark Griffith for 56th on the all-time list.

Philadelphia LHP Jamie Moyer continues to struggle through a rough start to the '08 season, suffering this third loss in troublesome fashion to the San Francisco Giants, 8-2. Moyer pitched just four innings, giving up six runs (all earned) on nine hits. Moyer struck out one, walked one, and allowed two home runs.

Our View: In fact, Moyer has allowed five homers over his last three starts, now touting an ERA of 5.02.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 5/5, 11:53 PM CT
Jamie Moyer was at his best on Monday night, on the mound and at the plate. The Phillies left-hander allowed two runs on six hits, walking none and striking out five. Moyer went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run producing single in the win.

Our View: Moyer was just good enough to keep the Diamondbacks off balance, and the large strike zone of Jerry Meals helped him get several calls outside of the black.
Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 4/19, 6:33 PM CT
Jamie Moyer lasted six innings, and though he was saddled with the loss, he didn't pitch badly allowing just two runs on seven hits and a walk.

Our View: When his control is on Moyer can still put up a lot of zeros, though of course his days as a top-flight hurler are long gone. Moyer has only seven K in 20.2 innings, so his value is limited mostly to W's at this point.

Jamie Moyer claimed his first win of the season today as he only allowed two runs on four hits over six innings of work against the Mets, with three walks and one strikeout. This was a good outing for the middle of the rotation starter, as most of the damage came on a Carlos Delgado solo homer in a 5-2 win.

Jamie Moyer, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 2/27, 6:59 PM CT
Jamie Moyer threw three scoreless innings on Wednesday for the Phillies, this according to the AP. The 45-year-old Moyer continues to defy Father Time with a slow and slower repertoire. Moyer has won at least 11 games in 11 of the last 12 seasons, so while his ratios might be a bit scary, he is still valuable in points based leagues.
