Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 2/27, 4:18 PM CT
The Brewers and Prince Fielder are not currently in a hurry to work out a contract extension, according to MLBlogs.com.

Our View: Fielder has previously stated he wants to stay in Milwaukee, but he is represented by Scott Boras, so anything is possible. However, he is under Brewers control through 2011.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 11/20, 9:24 AM CT
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman is reporting that the Brewers intend to lock-up superstar first baseman Prince Fielder this offseason.

Our View: Prince had another monster year in 2009, bashing 46 home runs to go along with a major league leading 141 RBI. While the Brewers are small market, they drew over three million fans in 2009, and are believed to have the cash to keep Fielder in Wisconsin for a long time.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 10/4, 6:33 PM CT
Prince Fielder blasted two solo home runs in a 9-7, ten-inning win over the Cardinals on Sunday. He finished the day 3-for-5 with three RBI as the Brew Crew finished off the series sweep.

Our View: Fielder ended his season with a .299 average, 46 home runs and a major league best 141 RBI. He would be a fantastic choice for NL MVP honors if it weren't for a man named Albert Pujols.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 9/30, 11:21 PM CT
Prince Fielder socked his 44th home run on Wednesday, but couldn't stop the Brewers from losing 10-6 in Colorado.

Our View: He extended his career-best, and National League co-leading, RBI total to 138 in the process.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 9/25, 11:27 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 8-4 win over the Phillies at Miller Park. He hit a single and a three-run homer off Cliff Lee.

Our View: Fielder swatted a homer in four of his last six games, and has 43 for 2009, tying Mark Reynolds and ranking only behind Albert Pujols (47) for the MLB lead. He continues to pace the majors with 136 RBI.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 9/23, 10:15 PM CT
Prince Fielder drove in two runs on Wednesday night to move ahead of Albert Pujols in the National League RBI race, as the Brewers beat the Cubs 3-2 at home.

Our View: He now has a career-best 131 on the season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/22, 11:16 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his 41st home run of the season in the Brewers 7-2 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday. It was his only hit in five trips.

Our View: Fielder also recorded his 129th RBI to keep pace with the Cardinals Albert Pujols for the league lead. He's having an MVP caliber season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 9/19, 10:26 PM CT
Prince Fielder drove in his 127th run this season with a sacrifice fly in the Brewers 7-2 win over the Astros on Saturday. He was 1-for-4 on the day.

Our View: The RBI set the franchise record for most in a season by Brewer. The former record holder, Cecil Cooper, was in attendance, managing the Astros. Fielder is now tied for the major league lead with Albert Pujols.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/13, 8:48 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his 39th home run in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks. The bomb was a solo shot off Max Scherzer and he finished 2-for-4 on the day.

Our View: Fielder is still holding onto his slim lead in the RBI race over Albert Pujols. He now has 126 on the season, two more than the big man in St. Louis. The MVP seems to already belong to Albert, but Fielder will still get a nice amount of votes this year, as he well should.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/8, 10:48 PM CT
Prince Fielder thought he was setting the tone on Tuesday night, hitting his 38th home run in the first inning of the Brewers' contest with the Cardinals, but Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday would both homer late, spurring St. Louis to a 4-3 road win.

Our View: Fielder still has the edge on Pujols for the National League RBI lead, however, with his 125 being four more than Albert's total.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/6, 6:06 PM CT
Prince Fielder did in the Giants on Sunday, hitting his 37th home run in the 12th inning, as Milwaukee won 2-1 at home.

Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 9/5, 6:39 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Giants at Miller Park.

Our View: Fielder collected an RBI in each of his last three games, and continues to pace the majors with 122 for the season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 8/29, 9:53 PM CT
Prince Fielder drew a bases-loaded walk for his 120th RBI on Saturday, helping the Brewers past the Pirates 7-3 at home.

Our View: The 120 RBI tie a career-high for Fielder - a mark he should now break by about 25 or 30.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 8/28, 10:10 PM CT
Prince Fielder launched yet another home run on Friday, this one a three runner in the first inning, helping the Brewers outslug the Pirates 8-6 at home.

Our View: Fielder's 118 RBI lead the major leagues, and are just one off his career-high of 119 from 2007.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/27, 4:21 PM CT
Prince Fielder drove in three runs to increase his league-leading RBI total to 115 on Thursday, but it wasn't enough, as the Brewers lost 8-5 to the Reds at home.

Our View: Prince is now just four RBI off of his career high of 119 from 2007, and if he keeps hitting the way he has been hitting, he could be looking at a 140-150 RBI season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/26, 10:55 PM CT
Prince Fielder homered and knocked in his 111th and 112th RBI on Wednesday, but the Brewers still lost 4-3 in ten innings to the Reds at home.

Our View: Fielder's 112 RBI lead the major leagues, and he would be getting strong MVP consideration were it not for the Brewers' second half swoon.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 8/21, 9:16 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his 33rd home run in the Brewers' 7-3 win over the Nationals on Friday. The two-run shot was his only hit in five at-bats.

Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/18, 9:17 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his 32nd home run in the Brewers' 5-2 loss to the Pirates on Tuesday. The solo shot was his only hit in four at-bats.

Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 8/17, 9:52 PM CT

Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 8/15, 9:05 PM CT
Prince Fielder helped lead the Brewers in tonight's 6-2 win over the Astros at Miller Park, as he went 2-for-2 with an RBI. He had two singles and also drew two walks.

Our View: Fielder extended his hitting streak to seven games, and continues to pace the Brew Crew with 103 RBI and 29 homers.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/13, 4:36 PM CT
Prince Fielder provided some fireworks for the Brewers on Thursday, hitting two solo bombs as the Brew Crew outslugged San Diego 12-9 at home.

Our View: Those two RBI also pulled him into a tie with Albert Pujols for the MLB lead at 102. It should be a great race between the two sluggers down the stretch.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/12, 11:07 PM CT
Prince Fielder got to 100 RBI on Wednesday night, but the Brewers still lost 6-5 to the Padres at home.

Our View: Even while the Brewers keep losing games, Fielder keeps knocking in runs. Expect both trends to continue.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 8/8, 10:35 PM CT
Prince Fielder blasted his 27th homer and drove in three in a 3-for-6 effort during Saturday's 12-5 crushing of the Houston Astros.

Our View: Fielder now has 98 RBI on the season and trails the great Albert Pujols by just two for the Major League lead. He's driven in seven runs this month.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/6, 1:01 PM CT
According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Major League Baseball has decided not to suspend Prince Fielder for his actions against the Dodgers Tuesday.

Our View: Fielder and Mota will pay undisclosed fines, but it's surprising that neither of them or Joe Torre will face any additional reprimand. Torre orders the plunking, Mota executes it and Fielder tries to break into the Dodger clubhouse and beat up the entire organization. The results are surprising, but at least no one was caught injecting steroids. Feel free to keep Fielder in your lineup.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/6, 12:17 AM CT
A day after nearly setting off an international incident, Prince Fielder had a largely quiet game against the Dodgers, as the Brewers won 4-1. He did manage to drive in a run and steal a base, however.

Our View: With 95, Prince is now just two RBI behind Albert Pujols for the major league lead. Hope that he doesn't get suspended for Tuesday night's shenanigans if you have him in your league.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/5, 7:50 PM CT
Prince Fielder could be fined or suspended for charging the Dodgers clubhouse on Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View: Fielder's ugly act will more than likely bring some sort of MLB reprimand. While he has become one of the most prolific power hitters in all of baseball, this is the second straight year in which he's had an unflattering incident, and he might not become truly great until he learns to keep his emotions intact (though all the home runs he's hit might disagree).
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/2, 12:15 AM CT
Prince Fielder went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Clayton Richard in tonight's 4-2 loss at San Diego.

Our View: Fielder leads the Brewers with 26 homers and is tied with Albert Pujols for the MLB lead with 92 RBI. The elite slugger should continue to perform up to high expectations for fantasy owners as long as he stays healthy.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 7/21, 8:50 PM CT
Prince Fielder provided all the offense as the Brewers and Pirates faced off Tuesday night, going 2-for-4 with two RBI as Milwaukee won 2-0 on the road.

Our View: Prince now has two home runs and eight RBI since the All-Star break, and appears poised for a huge second half.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/20, 7:24 PM CT
Tonight's game between the Brewers and Pirates at PNC Park has been delayed due to bursts of thunder and lightning, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: The source has not heard of an estimated start time. The starting pitchers are Mike Burns and Ross Ohlendorf.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 7/19, 3:55 PM CT
Prince Fielder continued his torrid hitting on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, but it wasn't enough, as Milwaukee ace Yovani Gallardo couldn't keep runners off base, and the Brewers lost 5-3 in Cincinnati.

Our View: Prince continues to trail only Albert Pujols in the NL home run and RBI derby, and should keep putting up huge numbers as the season progresses.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 7/16, 9:54 PM CT
Prince Fielder carried over his momentum from the home run derby and All-Star Game on Thursday, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a three run homer. The Brewers beat the Reds 9-6 in Cincinnati.

Our View: Fielder is second to only Albert Pujols in the major leagues in RBI this season, with 81, and has rebounded nicely from a below average 2008 by his standards.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 7/14, 10:58 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI in tonight's 4-3 loss to the American League in the All-Star Game at Busch Stadium.

Our View: Fielder did a good job representing the NL after winning the Home Run Derby Monday night. The squad only had five hits in the game, and Fielder's double was their lone knock for extra bases.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/13, 10:06 PM CT
Prince Fielder has won the 2009 Home Run Derby, according to the live broadcast on ESPN. Several of his homers went over 450 feet, and he edged Nelson Cruz 6-5 in the final round.

Our View: This marks Fielder's first win in the HR Derby. He is tied for fourth in the majors with 22 homers at the All-Star break. He also managed to beat out Albert Pujols in his home at Busch Stadium.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 7/11, 9:37 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in tonight's 6-3 win over the Dodgers at Miller Park. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Fielder has a hit in four straight games, and now leads the Brewers with a .315 batting average. He also continues to pace the club with 22 homers and 78 RBI.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 7/5, 6:57 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a solo homer off Ted Lilly in Sunday's 8-2 loss at the Cubs. His other knock was a single.

Our View: He has two homers over five games in July, and leads the Brewers with 22 for the season. He also paces the club with 76 RBI, which currently ranks second in the NL.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 7/2, 10:24 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a solo homer off Ryan Dempster in tonight's 9-5 loss at Chicago. His other knock was a double.

Our View: Fielder has a hit in six straight games, with three homers over the span. He has 21 homers for the season, with tonight's coming at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 6/30, 10:06 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a solo homer off ace Johan Santana in tonight's 6-3 win over the Mets at Miller Park. His other hit was a single.

Our View: Fielder now has 20 homers, with eight coming in June. He is currently tied for second (with Albert Pujols) in the NL with 74 RBI as well.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 6/27, 10:24 PM CT
Prince Fielder jacked his 19th home run of the season against San Francisco on Saturday, finishing 2-for-5 with four RBI on the day.

Our View: After a slow start, Fielder has gotten back to his home run-bashing ways and remains one of the best first baseman, and power hitters at any spot of the field, in the game.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/25, 4:06 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his 18th home run of the season on Thursday afternoon, but the Brewers fell 6-5 to the Twins in Milwaukee.

Our View: Fielder had been in a mini home run slump, having only hit one in the past seven games, but is still very much one of the National League's hottest home run hitters and run producers this season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 6/19, 11:44 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI in Friday's 10-4 loss at Detroit. Hit other hit was a single.

Our View: Fielder hit his team-leading 17th homer, with five coming so far in June. He leads the NL with 67 RBI as well.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 6/16, 9:42 PM CT
Prince Fielder picked up two more hits in the Brewers 7-5 victory over Cleveland on Tuesday night, and now has 21 in 15 games in June.

Our View: Fielder also led the National League in RBIs going into Tuesday night's game with 62. He has bounced back nicely after a down year in 2008.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 6/15, 10:18 PM CT
Prince Fielder carried the Brewers in Monday's 14-12 win at Cleveland, as he went 2-for-3 with six RBI. He hit a grand slam and a double.

Our View: Fielder snapped a seven-game skid without a homer, and did it dramatically with the grand slam. He leads the club with 16 homers, and should remain a strong source for power in fantasy leagues.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 6/6, 9:46 PM CT
Prince Fielder launched two homers on Saturday night in the Brewers' 3-0 win over the Braves. Fielder was 2-for-3 on the evening with the two homers, two runs scored, and two RBI.

Our View: Prince carried the Brewers' offense tonight, which he is capable of doing with his massive power. He has his average up to .299, and he is a very solid fantasy first baseman at this point. The power will be there, but if he keeps his average up anywhere close to .300 this season he will be a top option.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/4, 8:58 PM CT
Prince Fielder performed well in Thursday's 4-3 loss at Florida, as he went 3-for-4 with three RBI. He hit a two-run homer, a triple and a single.

Our View: Milwaukee only had seven hits in the game, and Fielder was their only source of scoring. He has a four-game hitting streak, and collected his team-leading 13th homer of the season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 5/30, 9:49 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Reds at Miller Park.

Our View: The slugger homered in back-to-back games, and hit 10 of his 12 homers in May. Seven of his home runs came at Miller Park.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 5/29, 11:09 PM CT
Prince Fielder ripped a two run homer in Friday's 3-2 win over the Reds. It was his only hit in three at-bats.

Our View: Fielder now has 11 bombs on the season, and while he's not the player many expected him to be after his 50 home run season in 2007, he's still a power threat and a decent option at first base in mixed leagues. Still, owners are looking for a bit more.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/18, 11:31 PM CT
Prince Fielder was 1-for-1 with an RBI, a run scored and four walks as the Brewers defeated the Cardinals 8-4 on Monday. The Cardinals walked 11 batters on the night.

Our View: Fielder's 40 strike outs do not look so bad when placed next to his 34 walks (1st in the NL). Still, if he can start putting more balls in play and striking out less, his numbers could be scary. His 36 RBI already ranks him second in the NL.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 5/17, 6:16 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit a three-run shot in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Cardinals. It was his only hit in four at bats, but he did draw a walk.

Our View: Fielder has four home runs in his last five games, and he has 10 RBI in that stretch. Fielder is heating up along with the Brewers, and the longer they remain in first place, the longer he figures to remain hot.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 5/12, 11:03 PM CT
Prince Fielder knocked two out of the park in a 3-for-4 effort on Tuesday night as the Brewers doubled up the Marlins 6-3. He drove in for in the game.

Our View: Fielder has struggled this season, but Tuesday's game was a big step forward. He's now hitting .272 with seven homers and 29 RBI. It's still not the production fantasy owners expect out of the big first baseman, but he's getting there.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/7, 9:45 PM CT
Prince Fielder had a good night at the plate for the Brewers on Thursday, going 3-for-3 with a double, a run, and two RBI. It wasn't enough, however, as the Brewers fell to the Reds 6-5.

Our View: The Prince was big (no pun intended) for the Crew tonight. He didn't go deep, but he was a force at the plate. His average is up to .280 now, and he is showing he can do more than just hit homers. He needs to start hitting more homers, but at least he can hit when he's not bombing.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 5/3, 7:28 PM CT
Prince Fielder didn't see a lot of hittable pitches on Sunday, but he found one he liked and belted it out of the park for his fourth home run. He finished the day 1-for-1 with three walks as the Brewers beat the D-Backs 4-3.

Our View: Fielder has struggled in the average department so far this season, but his power numbers are still decent. Four homers and 19 RBI aren't ideal Fielder numbers, but they're also not numbers that give fantasy owners fits. Still, he needs to improve on the .247 average.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 5/2, 8:53 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 1-for-3 with a single and notched the Brewers' lone RBI in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Arizona at Miller Park.

Our View: Fielder has gone seven games without a home run, but chipped in two RBI over the three games against the Diamondbacks.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 4/27, 10:46 PM CT
Prince Fielder was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, a walk and a strikeout in the Brewers 10-5 win over the Pirates on Monday.

Our View: Fielder has at least one triple in each of the past four years. Normally that may not be worth mentioning, but for a man of his girth, we find it impressive.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/25, 10:36 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a walk, three runs scored, three RBI, and two strikeouts as the Brewers beat Houston 9-8 in 11 innings on Saturday. His second home run was a two-run shot in the ninth off of closer Jose Valverde.

Our View: Fielder already has 21 strikeouts and 11 walks through 60 at bats this season. Despite a slow start, he has seven hits and seven RBI in his last four games. He appears to be breaking out of the slump.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/23, 3:25 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Thursday's 6-1 win at the Phillies. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Fielder did not register an RBI over his first two games in the series against the Phillies, but made up for it with three in today's win.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 4/12, 11:15 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Reed Johnson robbed Prince Fielder of a potential grand slam in Sunday's 8-5 Cubs win. Fielder finished the game 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk, and a strikeout.

Our View: Unfortunately for Fielder's owners and the Brewers, Johnson is a very strong defensive outfielder. After the first week, the first baseman is hitting .250 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBI. He has also drawn six walks against eight strike outs.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/11, 10:37 PM CT
Prince Fielder doubled and homered in a losing effort for the Brewers on Saturday as they fell to the Cubs 6-5. He drove in two and drew a pair of walks as well.

Our View: It probably seemed a lot longer than four games for Fielder to hit his first home run of the season, but that's all it was. People who snagged him in the first round are sweating bullets and praying for more production soon. Don't worry, it will come.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 3/30, 7:49 PM CT
Prince Fielder was 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, a run scored, and a strikeout in Monday's 9-7 win over the Mariners.

Our View: This was his fifth home run of the spring and he is hitting .274. Prince finished last season in a flurry, and there's a good chance that he improves on his 34 home runs and 102 RBI in 2009.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 3/25, 7:06 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Brewers beat the Dodgers 12-8 on Wednesday.

Our View: He will frustrate you with his streaks but wow you with his power numbers and drive up your point totals again this year. He will strike out a lot but if he can stay consistent for a good Brewers lineup he could have an even better year this season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 3/16, 6:05 PM CT
Prince Fielder was 1-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored as the Brewers beat the Cubs 9-6 on Monday.

Our View: Fielder actually logged two triples in 2008, which should shock you. The big fella has slugged well this spring and if he remains as focused as he was last September, he could be in line for a breakout season. However it's a long season, and Fielder is prone to slumps - and hot streaks.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 3/15, 10:20 PM CT
Prince Fielder was 1-for-2 with a solo home run in the Brewers 6-3 win over the Indians on Sunday. It was his third home run in 28 spring at-bats.

Our View: This is a nice pace for the slugger. He seems to be a good bet to at least reach the 34 home run mark he met last season, but he could be in line to increase that total. Although overshadowed by Ryan Howard, Fielder slugged over .600 last September under a great deal of pressure.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 3/13, 7:11 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his second home run of Cactus League play Friday against Zack Greinke of the Royals. He finished the Brewers' win 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Our View: Fielder hit his second homer in as many days and now looks to be separating from the funk that has gripped him so far in exhibition play.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 3/12, 10:07 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his first home run of spring on Thursday, a two-run shot in the seventh inning against San Diego.

Our View: While he's been a paltry 5-for-23 (.217 batting average) thus far, he has drawn five walks, helping to account for a .438 on-base percentage. Hopefully the home run will help jump-start the power.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 2/28, 8:11 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-of-3 in Saturday's spring game with an RBI.

Our View: Fielder is only hitting .222 so far in the Cactus League, but as long as his power stroke starts to make appearances, the Brewers will be fine.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 1/24, 2:50 PM CT
Brewers.com reports that the deal between the Brewers and first baseman Prince Fielder has become official.

Our View: There has been a number of different numbers thrown out, but the deal is for a total of $18 million: $6.5 million in 2009 and $11.5 million in 2010 - plus a $1 million signing bonus.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 1/24, 7:25 AM CT
The Denver Post reports that the contract Prince Fielder signed with the Brewers is for two years with a $1 million signing bonus and $6.5 million in salary this season and $10.5 million next.

Our View: Fielder also has incentives in his deal for certain performances, though some are unlikely to happen. For example, he gets $50,000 should he win the Gold Glove.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 1/22, 9:07 PM CT
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Prince Fielder has passed his physical making his two-year extension official. It is believed he will make $7 million next season and $11 million in 2010.

Our View: Fielder hit .276 with 34 home runs and 102 RBI last season while appearing in 159 games. Similar production could be expected this season, although he did hit 50 homers in 2007.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 1/22, 3:10 PM CT
Prince Fielder has agreed to a two-year deal with the Brewers worth $18 million, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The new deal is pending a physical.

Our View: Fielder will have his last arbitration year in 2011, after which he'll be eligible for free agency. Fielder has crushed 112 homers over his last three campaigns with Milwaukee, with a high of 50 coming in 2007.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 1/21, 7:27 PM CT
The Brewers are reportedly working on a two-year deal with Prince Fielder, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It would likely be worth between $18-20 million.

Our View: Fielder expressed his frustration with his contract just being renewed before the 2008 season, so the fact that he's trying to avoid a year-to-year basis with the Brewers isn't surprising. We'll keep you posted as the situation develops.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 1/20, 11:18 AM CT
Prince Fielder is not likely to be dealt and is expected to be the Brewers' starting first baseman in 2009, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. GM Doug Melvin shot down the rumors that the club was looking to trade Fielder, as Melvin said, "I have never talked to clubs about trading Prince, no team has called me about Prince."

Our View: The slugger is under contract with the Brewers for the next three seasons, but seems likely to test free agency as he turned down a $60 million, five-year offer last season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 1/12, 5:59 PM CT
The Brewers are looking at re-establishing a Latin American academy in the Dominican Republic, according to the Brewers' official site.

Our View: Milwaukee is currently the only major league club without a permanent academy in Latin America, which has been a very productive source of prospects for big league clubs, especially in recent years.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 1/9, 9:03 AM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports suggests that the Brewers could deal Prince Fielder for a top pitcher, and then replace Fielder's bat with Adam Dunn.

Our View: This is purely speculation, but the Brewers really do need to upgrade their rotation with the losses of CC Sabathia and likely Ben Sheets.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 1/5, 4:25 PM CT
It will be difficult for the Brewers to avoid an arbitration hearing with Prince Fielder, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Fielder expressed irritation last year after having his contract renewed opposed to being signed to a long-term deal, so it would be hard to see Fielder settling for anything other than a long-term deal before an arbitration hearing.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 1/1, 2:28 PM CT
The Nationals are interested in Prince Fielder as they're still searching for a left-handed power hitter, according to MLB.com.

Our View: It's doubtful that the Brewers would trade Fielder unless they could get a package which absolutely blows them away. He's one of the biggest left-handed power threats in the National League.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 12/12, 6:59 PM CT
Prince Fielder will be tendered a contract by the Brewers, as will J.J. Hardy, Cory Hart, Rickie Weeks, Dave Bush, and Seth McClung, according to the Brewers' official website.

Our View: Fielder will likely stay put now that J.J. Putz, a Brewers trade target, has been dealt to the Mets.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 12/9, 6:48 PM CT
Prince Fielder could get traded to the Mariners in a multi-player deal to bring closer J.J. Putz in return, according to ESPN.

Our View: Fielder could be the power hitter that the Mariners have been looking for since the departure of Alex Rodriguez and the Brewers' bullpen nearly cost them a post-season berth with how unstable it was last season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 12/2, 10:54 PM CT
The Brewers are thought to be open to the idea of trading Prince Fielder to add pitching depth to the starting rotation or to land an established closer, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Even though the Brewers say they would trade Fielder, it would have to be the perfect deal for them to trade the power-hitting first baseman.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 11/2, 1:18 PM CT
The Milwaukee Brewers have decided to keep Dale Sveum on as hitting coach after he was named the team's interim manager last year, according to the ESPN.com.

Our View: Sveum got the team in the playoffs, but they lost in the first round to the eventual world champion Phillies.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 10/29, 3:36 PM CT
The Brewers have alerted teams that they are willing to listen to offers for Prince Fielder, according to the New York Post.

Our View: The Brewers aren't likely to move Fielder, as it would take a great packaged to acquire him.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 10/20, 7:34 PM CT
The Brewers aren't expected to name their new manager until after the World Series, possibly due to the commissioner's orders not to make big announcements during the festivities. At this point, the top options appear to be Ken Macha and Bob Brenly, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

Our View: We're all for whichever manager allows Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun to hit the most homers. Yes, we're joking. Sort of.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 10/17, 8:40 PM CT
The Brewers will be bringing back GM Doug Melvin though interim manager Dale Sveum will not return in '09, at least as the manager, according to the Associated Press. “Dale is a solid baseball man,” Melvin said. “He is a loyal and hard-working individual who will get a high recommendation from me to our new manager to remain on the coaching staff.”

Our View: The Brewers went 7-5 under Sveum to make the playoffs before they lost to the eventual NL Champion Phillies. Given the way this played out, we would be shocked to see Sveum remain withe the Brewers so look for him to be on someone other teams bench in 2009.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 10/5, 3:45 PM CT
Prince Fielder got his only hit of the NLDS on Sunday, a home run off of Joe Blanton.

Our View: He finished the series only 1-for-14.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 10/1, 5:01 PM CT
Prince Fielder struck out three times in four at bats in Game 1 of the NLDS on Wednesday.

Our View: No strikeout was more critical than in the ninth inning with a runner on second down two with one out. Unfortunately, the big fella just didn't have it going today against some excellent Phillies pitching.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 9/27, 6:00 PM CT
Prince Fielder was 2-for-4 in the Brewers' 7-3 loss to the Cubs. But with his two hits he extended his hitting streak to 17 games.

Our View: If the Brewers are able to make it to the playoffs, Fielder will be a big reason for that. Since starting the season off slowly, it has been another big year for the first baseman.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/23, 10:23 PM CT
Prince Fielder is doing his best to carry the Brewers to the postseason. The rotund first baseman hit a walkoff two-run homer Tuesday to lead the team to a 7-5 win over the Pirates.

Our View: Prince is one of the few members of the Brew Crew that is still hitting during their recent slide.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 9/22, 2:27 PM CT
Prince Fielder has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to the AP. Fielder led the NL with 27 total bases and tied for the league lead with 12 hits, six doubles and 11 RBI. He also batted .462 with three homers and scored six runs.

Our View: He is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak. Teammate J.J. Hardy was also a nominee for the award, as was Florida’s Alfredo Amezaga, John Baker, Jorge Cantu, Mike Jacobs and Cameron Maybin.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/21, 3:33 PM CT
With two hits in four at-bats, including a home run and a double, Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder contributed heavily to his team's 8-1 win over Cincinnati.

Our View: Fielder now has a 12-game hitting streak, and is burning up in the month of September, hitting .319 with with five home runs and 17 RBI for fantasy owners.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 9/20, 8:07 AM CT
Rumors are heating up that the Milwaukee Brewers may trade first baseman Prince Fielder and shortstop J.J. Hardy for San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Our View: That would be an interesting deal, and shows just how high the cost of pitching is. Whether this deal actually happens or not is anyone's guess, but it certainly won't be anytime soon.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 9/17, 10:29 PM CT
The Brewers are in a tail-spin but Prince Fielder is doing everything he can to keep them alive. In Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Cubs, he was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI.

Our View: In the past three games, Fielder has driven in seven runs and with seven more RBI he will reach the century mark for the second straight year. It took Fielder 14 games at the beginning of the year to hit his first home run but you wouldn't know that when you see he has hit 32 homers. Fantasy owners might have been disappointed early but they have forgotten about the early season power slump.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/16, 10:21 PM CT
Prince Fielder did his best to lead the Brewers to a win Tuesday, belting a pair of homers while adding a double. He didn't come through at the end, though, taking a called third strike with the tying run on third in the ninth.

Our View: Fantasy owners will give Prince a pass on the last at-bat. He has 32 homers and 90 RBI on the year.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/14, 10:03 PM CT
Prince Fielder had one of only two Brewers hits against Brett Myers on Sunday night, though his hit was his 30th home run of the season.

Our View: Fielder, who exploded for 50 home runs and 119 RBI last season, will fall well short of both numbers this season (he has 87 RBI). As the Brewers are struggling for wins, so is Fielder struggling for hits at the plate with just a .238 average in 42 September at-bats.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/4, 4:04 PM CT
Even though the Brewers are facing another lefty tonight in Shawn Estes, Prince Fielder will be back in the lineup after a day off yesterday. Fielder has struggled mightily against lefties recently going 3-25 and has not homered in nearly three weeks, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.

Our View: Even though Fielder has struggled lately it is tough to keep him out of your lineup.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/4, 12:33 PM CT
The Milwaukee Brewers will listen to trade offers for hefty first baseman Prince Fielder during the offseason, reports Jayson Stark of ESPN.com. He also reported that the team would listen to offers for Bill Hall, Rickie Weeks and J.J. Hardy.

Our View: Fielder has his shortcomings, as he cannot hit left-handed pitching all that well, and his fielding leaves something to be desired. That said, he could be an intriguing chip for a team who wants power from the left side.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/4, 9:24 AM CT
Prince Fielder got a day of rest on Wednesday, in part because the Brewers have been seeing a rash of left-handed pitchers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Fielder has just three hits in has last 25 at-bats, and with his .220 average against left-handed hurlers, he needed a break.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/12, 11:52 PM CT
Prince Fielder his his 27th home run of the season and drove in three runs in the Brewers victory over the Padres.

Our View: Fielder has hit five home runs on the month, and has provided 11 RBI. He is a top fantasy option at the position, and would rank even higher if he could push that average near the .300 mark.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/5, 4:36 PM CT
Prince Fielder apologized on Tuesday "for the way it went down" on Monday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The first baseman scuffled with pitcher Manny Parra during a loss to the Reds. "We had a little disagreement, obviously," Fielder says. "I'm not going to go into the depths of what it was over... That's just something that happened in the moment. I can't take it back. I could have handled it better. But I don't apologize for the full meaning behind it and the fire."

Our View: Neither Fielder nor Parra is expected to be suspended or fined for their altercation, and fantasy owners can safely employ the rotund first baseman.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 8/4, 9:08 PM CT
Prince Fielder went after Brewers hurler Manny Parra in the dugout during the team's loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Fielder pushed Parra, who promptly sat down, and Fielder pushed Parra again before teammates came in to intervene.

Our View: It wasn't much of a scuffle. Fielder obviously didn't really want to fight, as his two weak shoves would attest to. He started barking again when teammates pulled him off. His immaturity got him kicked ejected from a game against Chicago, and it continues as the Brewers seem to be unraveling once again.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 8/2, 5:44 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 2-for-3 with three RBI as he led the Brewers to a 4-2 win over the Braves on Saturday. Both of his hits were home runs.

Our View: Fielder has impressively homered in four straight games, and has 25 for the season.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 8/1, 10:27 PM CT
Prince Fielder struck out three times and left four men on base on Friday night, but he also hit his 23rd home run of the season for the Brewers.

Our View: This was the third straight game in which Fielder has belted a solo bomb, this after a stretch of 10 games without a home run. He continues to be a bit too streaky for our liking, but he is still on pace for well over 30 home runs.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 7/30, 10:55 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his 21st home run of the season on Wednesday knocking in his 60th run of the year.

Our View: Fielder is viewed as the big bopper in Milwaukee, and while might be true if you looked as his belt size, the big home run hitter this season has been Ryan Braun who has 29 taters on the year. Still, Fielder certainly isn't a bad fall back option.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/21, 2:58 PM CT
Prince Fielder's home run on Saturday against the Giants was his 20th of the season and the 100th of his career.

Our View: It took him 450 games to reach the milestone, with half of his homers coming in 2007 when he broke out with 50. Fielder is also currently riding a five-game hitting streak, with three homers and three multi-hit efforts over the span.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 7/19, 12:08 AM CT
Prince Fielder hit his nineteenth home run of the season as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI while scoring a run in the Brewers victory on Friday.

Our View: Fielder now has hits in 10 of his last 11 games and home runs in two of his last three. This could signal the beginning of a hot streak for the rotund slugger.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 7/12, 10:56 PM CT
Only first baseman Prince Fielder showed up at the plate tonight in support of the Brewers' 8-2 loss to the Reds, going 2-for-3 with one walk and his 18th homer of the season, posting two RBIs and one run scored.

Our View: Only three other players earned hits on the night, though it's no surprise for Fielder, touting hits in eight of his last nine games.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 7/3, 11:10 AM CT
Prince Fielder is just 2-for-31 in his last nine games.

Our View: He may not bust out very soon. July was his worst month in 2007 when he hit just three home runs and produced only 10 RBI.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 7/1, 7:23 PM CT
Reports from Milwaukee indicate first baseman Prince Fielder is not in the starting lineup this evening.

Our View: We have no official sources giving us reason why Fielder is not on the field, but he's not in the lineup. We will update as news comes forth.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 6/27, 7:08 PM CT
Prince Fielder is serving as the Brewers' DH tonight in their inter-league contest against the Twins in Minnesota, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Fielder will try to slow down a Twins' team that has won nine-straight games, and is 12-3 against the NL.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 6/22, 6:41 PM CT
Prince Fielder continued to flex his muscles as he went deep twice on Sunday giving him a total of six home runs in his last 10 games.

Our View: Fielder is now hitting .292 on the year thanks to a blazing stretch of .341 with 11 home runs over his last 36 games. So much for his early season struggles.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 6/20, 10:48 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit a home run for the second straight game and the fourth time in eight games for the Brewers.

Our View: Fielder has virtually no shot at matching last years total of 50 bombs, hut he is still within hailing distance of his average over the past two years of 39 which would be a quite an accomplishment considering how slowly he started the year.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/19, 4:51 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit the second inside-the-park homer of his career as the Brewers scored an 8-7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon.

Our View: Watching Fielder run the bases during an inside-the-park home run should be a pay-per-view event. It's that good.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 6/18, 10:02 AM CT
Prince Fielder rarely has trouble with opposing pitchers, but he may have found an opponent he can't swing at. The first baseman owes the IRS $409,149 in unpaid taxes, the Detroit News reports. The IRS filed the lien on October 6, 2005. Fielder owes the money from 2003, a year after he inked his first contract and received a $2.4 million bonus.

Our View: We don't know if Prince is in danger of going to jail, but he probably hasn't gotten a new credit card lately.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 6/14, 10:02 PM CT
They needed 12 innings to settle their differences, but the Twins found the 9-4 win with a late surge to put the Brewers in the loss column. The Brewers spread the wealth with 11 total hits but only two batters posting more than one, including first baseman Prince Fielder , going 2-for-5 with a triple.

Our View: Fielder is now hitting .286, hitting .333 through June.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 6/2, 10:08 PM CT
Prince Fielder continues to flex his muscles. He went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two runs, and a stolen base on Monday. Fielder has gone deep in three of the last four games.

Our View: Finally! Fantasy owners are beginning to be rewarded for their patience with the portly slugger.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 5/31, 9:57 PM CT
Prince Fielder went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 4-1 win over Houston.

Our View: That was his eighth homer of the season, and has now hit one in back-to-back games. Hopefully he can carry this momentum into June, and put together a strong month. He ended May with only nine RBI, after racking up 20 in April.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 5/10, 6:26 PM CT
Milwaukee 1B Prince Fielder his his fifth home run of the season today, but his efforts weren't enough as his Brewers fell 5-3 to the St. Louis Cardinals. Fielder went 1-for-5 overall.

Our View: Though he failed to collect a single strike out, Fielder stranded three runners on base, a tough reality in a tight-fought battle that ended in a loss.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/1, 4:40 PM CT
Prince Fielder had another 0-for outing on Thursday as he went 0-for-4 to drop his average to .240.

Our View: Fielder has three home runs and eight RBI in his last eight games, this after one and 12 in his first 20 games so he has certainly heated up. Still, his SLG is below .450 and he clearly is still searching for his stroke. Pity the pitchers when he finds it.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/23, 10:15 PM CT
Prince Fielder entered action on Wednesday with one home run and he excited it with three after hitting two, two-run home runs off of Cole Hamels. Fielder also had four RBI on the night.

Our View: After a horrific start, Fielder now has 16 RBI through 21 games and the average has also started to climb with five hits the past two games. Fielder will get his and by the end of the year we will all have forgotten about his slow start.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/22, 7:28 PM CT
Prince Fielder put his best foot forward in the Brewers' 8-9 win over the Cardinals today, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two walks, a sacrifice fly, and his 12th RBI of the season.

Our View: Fielder has struggled to get the bat where he (and fantasy owners) might like it, but today shows he is moving in the right direction.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/19, 3:44 PM CT
Prince Fielder enjoyed a productive day at the plate in Milwaukee's 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Fielder went 1-for-3 at the plate with two walks and two runs scored, including his fifth double of the season.

Our View: Fielder has struggled more often than not this season, touting just one homer and 11 RBIs on the season. Anything (like today) to help get him going must be a welcome change.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/17, 3:59 PM CT
Prince Fielder hit his first home run of the season on Thursday as he went 2-for-5 with three RBI on the day.

Our View: We all knew this would happen, and so it did, but of bigger concern with Fielder is what does he do moving forward since he is still batting just .241 on the year. He only has nine K on the year, so for the most part he has managed to make consistent contact.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/16, 10:27 PM CT
Prince Fielder had one hit and one RBI on Monday night as he extended his streak to 49 AB without a home run to start the season.

Our View: So much for a 50-HR season follow-up. It's certainly early, but 49 AB without a home run marks Fielder as a hitter who will really have to get going to push even 40-HR this season. He could still go nuts and we could be laughing about this in four months, but no one is laughing right now.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/15, 11:13 PM CT
Prince Fielder failed to gain a single at-bat in tonight's 1-6 loss for the Brewers against the Cardinals.

Our View: He played the entire game, but he walked in each of his four visits to the plate. That doubles Fielder's TOTAL walks this season coming into this game.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 4/13, 12:30 PM CT
The Milwaukee Brewers will carry the same roster to the field against the Mets today, but the batting order will change, according to MLB.com. Manager Ned Yost has reportedly heeded the request of his players and will move LF Ryan Braun to the spot in the order while 1B Prince Fielder will be put back in the hole.

Our View: Both players have been struggling, Bran hitting just .229 coming into Sunday and Fielder with a fat zero in the homer column on the stat sheet thus far. This order reflects the status quo from 2007, a lineup in which both players shined, and now the team hopes it yields results once more. If the fortunes of these players are not reversed, Yost suggests the lineup will be changed back.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 4/11, 5:14 PM CT
Prince Fielder has gone 33 AB without a home run this season, and he is not happy about it, this according to MLB.com. "I just want to hit the ball hard first," Fielder said. "You can't worry about hitting home runs when you can't make solid contact. I'll just try to hit the ball hard and see what happens." Fielder will be fine, everyone knows that, it's just that slumps early in the year are magnified because of the small sample size available to review. If he goes 33 AB with a HR in July, would anyone even notice?
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/10, 4:00 PM CT
Prince Fielder had a tough day at the plate against Cincinnati on Thursday, as he went 0-for-4 in a 4-1 loss. He only has eight hits over 33 at-bats so far, and is yet to hit his first homer. Hopefully he will come around soon.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 4/4, 11:44 AM CT
The Brewers continue to have "ongoing discussions" with Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun about contract extensions, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. Owner Mark Attanasio says the club has also extended multi-year offers to some other young players, although he didn't disclose any names.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 3/29, 2:41 PM CT
Prince Fielder was a late scratch from the Brewers' final exhibition game Saturday due to a touch of illness, according to MLB.com. "I'm a little nervous, hoping it's not flu-like aches and pains," manager Ned Yost said. "He's gone hard all spring training. He's going to sign his autographs and then go home and take it easy and be back tomorrow. It's more of a precautionary thing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that getting him home, he'll be fine. He's a tough one." The flu has worked its way through the Brewers' locker room this spring, so let's hope that Fielder will avoid a nasty bout with it and be ready to roll when the season kicks off next week.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 3/2, 2:42 PM CT
The Brewers renewed the contracts of Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun and Corey Hart on Sunday after failing to come to terms on new deals. Fielder is not thrilled about it, either, according to MLB.com. "I'm not happy about it at all," Fielder said. "The fact I've had to be renewed two years in a row. I'm not happy about it because there's a lot of guys who have the same amount of [major league service] time that I do, who have done a lot less and are getting paid a lot more. But my time is going to come. It's going to come quick, too." Fielder, who became the youngest player ever to hit 50 home runs in a season last year, will be eligible for salary arbitration next offseason. If he comes anywhere near the same type of production in 2008, he's correct in claiming that his time to get a big contract will come soon.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/30, 2:01 PM CT

Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 3/2, 12:40 AM CT
Prince Fielder was a late scratch for Thursday's game against the A's due to tightness in his right quad, according to the AP. He's expected to miss Friday's game, as well. The Brewers consider him day-to-day.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/31, 10:22 PM CT
As expected, slumping first baseman Prince Fielder was held out of the starting lineup again Thursday. However, he entered the game after Jeff Cirillo was ejected in the first inning. Fielder, who entered the game hitless in his past 17 at-bats connected for a homer in the eighth. He finished the game 2-for-3.
Prince Fielder, 1B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/31, 8:39 AM CT
Prince Fielder was held out of the lineup yesterday and probably will get another day off today, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The rookie is slumping hard, going hitless in his past 17 at-bats. "He needs some mental cleansing," said manager Ned Yost.
