Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsTuesday 9/8, 3:34 PM CT
Jorge Sosa has been designated for assignment by the Nationals, according to MLBlogs.com. Sosa had a 6.45 ERA with the team this season.

Our View: Sosa was used late in games, but he had trouble getting guys out and really struggled with the long ball. He did have a 2-1 record for the team, but overall he was not a very good pitcher for the Nats.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsSaturday 8/1, 9:41 AM CT
The Nationals have purchased the contract of reliever Jorge Sosa.

Our View: Sosa will fill Joe Beimel's spot on the roster, but he won't inherit the key bullpen role. There is no reason to own Sosa in fantasy leagues.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsSunday 4/5, 11:12 AM CT
Jorge Sosa has finally been granted his visa from the Dominican Republic, meaning he can now travel to the United States and join Washington's camp, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Given his time away from the team, there's no chance that Sosa will be a past of the Nationals' Opening Day roster. He'll open the season in the minors, and while he could certainly factor into Washington's bullpen at some point this season, it's tough to imagine him gaining any fantasy value.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsTuesday 3/3, 10:16 AM CT
Jorge Sosa remains absent from camp with the Nationals due to visa problems, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Sosa is not expected to be effective enough to hold fantasy value as a middle reliever if he manages to make the Nationals' roster.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsSunday 12/21, 2:47 PM CT
The Nationals have inked pitcher Jorge Sosa, according to CardinalsBestNews.com. Contract details were not disclosed.

Our View: Sosa made the headlines when he was suspended for 50 games for testing positive for amphetamines. He held a poor 1.89 WHIP over 21.2 innings with the Mets in 2008, and won't hold any value if he makes the Nationals as a middle-reliever.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsThursday 8/21, 8:36 PM CT
Jorge Sosa has tested positive for amphetamines and has been suspended for 50 games, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Sosa had been playing for Seattle's Triple-A club. His 50-game suspension will carry over into next season.

Pitcher Jorge Sosa has signed with the Seattle Mariners, and will start out in Triple-A, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View: Sosa was horrid in his time in the bigs this season, with a 7.06 and frightening WHIP of 1.89.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsWednesday 5/28, 5:07 PM CT
The Astros signed Jorge Sosa to a minor-league deal Wednesday. Sosa was released by the Mets last week after posting a 7.06 ERA in 20 relief outings.

Our View: Sosa managed to vulture four wins out of the Mets pen, but his other numbers were terrible. He'll start out at Triple-A Round Rock but figures to be up with the big club at some point.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsFriday 5/23, 8:46 AM CT
Jorge Sosa was released on Thursday, the New York Post confirms. The reliever declined a Triple-A assignment, and the Mets did not agree to any trades.

Our View: Someone will likely give the enigmatic Sosa a shot at making their major league club, but he obviously has no fantasy value.
Jorge Sosa, P, Washington NationalsWednesday 5/14, 7:51 AM CT
The Mets designated Jorge Sosa for assignment on Tuesday night. The reliever owned a 7.06 ERA and 1.89 WHIP. If he's not traded within 10 days, Sosa could become a free agent or accept a gig at Triple-A New Orleans.

Our View: Sosa seems likely to cut his ties with the Mets and try his hand elsewhere.

A wild pitch in the 14th inning allowed the New York Mets to beat the Washington Nationals 3-2 Thursday night. Six Mets relievers combined to throw seven scoreless innings with Jorge Sosa getting six outs to earn the win.
