Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/16, 8:29 PM CT
Bill Hall (quad) is considered day-to-day by the Mariners, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: He left Tuesday's game with supposedly only cramps, but was sore and unable to play on Wednesday. He will likely return sometime this weekend. In 21 games since coming to Seattle, he is hitting .244 with one home run and eight RBI.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/11, 12:30 AM CT
Bill Hall had a fine day at the plate despite the final score of the game. He went 3-for-3 in the Mariners' 3-0 loss to the Angels.

Our View: Hall was the lone bright spot Thursday and provided 60 percent of his team's total hits. Still, while he's been better with the M's than the Brewers, he's not consistent enough to merit any fantasy consideration.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/4, 12:04 AM CT
Bill Hall was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored on Thursday in the Mariners' 7-4 win over the A's.

Our View: Hall has come up big over the last two days for his new team, but he is still far from a good fantasy play. He has fallen a long way this season, and there is no reason to think he will put up numbers consistently in September.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/2, 8:32 PM CT
Bill Hall played second base for the Mariners on Wednesday and not only made two dazzling defensive plays, but doubled in the game winning run in the seventh inning of the Mariners 3-0 win.

Our View: Hall finished the day 1-for-4, but certainly made an impact Wednesday. Still, he's hitting below .230 with his new club, and while that's an improvement from what he did in Milwaukee, he should be avoided in all fantasy formats.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 8/21, 3:56 PM CT
Bill Hall is in the Mariners' lineup for their Friday night game against the Indians. Hall is hitting sixth and playing left field.

Our View: Kind of surprising that Hall is in left tonight, but manager Don Wakamatsu said he will use Hall all over the field. We still expect that most of his time will be at third base until Adrian Beltre returns, but he can pretty much play anywhere.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 8/21, 10:24 AM CT
MLB.com is reporting that new Mariner Bill Hall will likely see his first action with the team on Friday. Hall was acquired by the team in a trade with the Brewers on Wednesday.

Our View: It seems likely that Hall will see most of his time at third base while Adrian Beltre is on the DL, but he should get some experience at several different positions. Perhaps some new scenery will help Hall resurrect his awful 2009 season, but it's not worth the risk for fantasy owners to take that chance on him.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 8/20, 10:56 AM CT
According to the Seattle Times, the Mariners plan to play new acquisition Bill Hall at multiple positions once he proves he's up to the challenge.

Our View: Hall gets a second chance in Seattle after putting together a miserable season with the Brewers (.201/.265/.341). Known for his versatility, he'll move around the infield as the Mariners need him and has experience in the outfield as well. The bulk of his starts will likely come at third base, at least for the time being while Adrian Beltre is on the DL with an injured testicle.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/19, 5:07 PM CT
Bill Hall has been shipped from Milwaukee to Seattle, according to the Seattle Times. It is believed that the Brewers will get minor league pitcher Ruben Flores in the deal.

Our View: Hall has been struggling in Milwaukee, but may not benefit from a fresh start in Seattle, especially while playing his home games at pitcher-friendly Safeco Field.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 8/18, 4:52 PM CT
According to MLBlogs.com, the Brewers are planning to move recently DFAed utility player Bill Hall.

Our View: GM Doug Melvin says that he's working on a cooking up a deal for Hall, and so far he's gotten interest from some teams (who shall remain nameless). Designated for assignment last week, the Brewers have until Friday to do something will the slumping infielder. They will have to trade or release him and absorb the $10+ million on his contract.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/12, 11:41 AM CT
Bill Hall has been designated for assignment by the Brewers, according to the Twitter page of Tyler Barnes, the team's VP of communications. In a corresponding move, the team purchased the contract of Jason Bourgeois.

Our View: Hall is having an absolutely abysmal season, and it looks like the Brewers have finally given up on him. The talent is still there, but until he shows he can put it together, Hall will have trouble winning a major league job.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 8/3, 4:17 PM CT
Bill Hall has been recalled by the Brewers from Triple-A Nashville, according to TSN. Corey Hart (appendicitis) was placed on the DL as the adjoining move.

Our View: Hall could see time in the outfield while Hart is out, but Hall's fantasy stock remains low, as he held a dismal .201 batting average prior to being sent down to the minors.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/30, 5:40 PM CT
Bill Hall has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: He holds an anemic .201 batting average, and agreed to his demotion to the minors to work on his hitting. He should not be missed in fantasy leagues.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/27, 3:05 PM CT
According to MLBlogs.com, struggling utility man Bill Hall gets the start at third base for Saturday's contest.

Our View: Hall is hitting just .259 with five homers this year, but gets the nod against the Giants' Barry Zito. Craig Counsell gets the day off and Casey McGehee takes over the duties as second base. Owners shouldn't rush to get Hall in for today's fantasy lineup.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 6/11, 11:43 AM CT
Bill Hall is not in the Brewers starting lineup today against the Rockies as manager Ken Macha is giving him and other slumping players the day off according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: Hall has only one hit in the month of June, and is batting just .213 for the year. He should not be on your fantasy team.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/14, 2:57 PM CT
Bill Hall went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-3 win over Florida at Miller Park.

Our View: He collected his fourth homer of the season, with two coming at Miller Park. Hall realizes he needs to perform well with top prospect Mat Gamel recalled from the minors to push him for playing time at third base.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/7, 7:35 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Bill Hall returned to the Brewers' lineup on Thursday. Hall had missed the last two games with cramps in his right hamstring.

Our View: Hall is batting seventh in the order tonight, and he says that he is 100% healthy. He should be good to go in the future.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/6, 3:35 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Bill Hall is not in tonight's lineup at Cincinnati, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: He will be missing his second straight game with a hamstring cramp. It was previously expected that he would return tonight. Craig Counsell will cover third base in Hall's absence.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/6, 1:19 PM CT
Bill Hall is expected to return to the diamond tonight at Cincinnati after missing Tuesday's game with a right hamstring cramp, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Hall should be safe to consider for fantasy lineups. Hall hit 18 home runs over 285 career at-bats against the Reds.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/5, 3:39 PM CT
Bill Hall is out of Tuesday's lineup after suffering a slight hamstring strain Monday, according to the Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel.

Our View: Hall was hurt making a diving catch in left field while filling in for Braun, who is returning to the lineup today. Consider him day-to-day.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 5/4, 7:07 PM CT
Bill Hall made his first career start in left field on Monday, but it didn't last long as he left in the second inning after injuring himself diving for a ball.

Our View: No word on how severe the injury is, but it appears to be a hamstring cramp which would not be serious. We will keep you updated on his condition.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 4/25, 10:40 PM CT
Bill Hall went 3-for-6 with a home run, a stolen base, four RBI, and a run scored as the Brewers beat the Astros 9-8 in 11 innings on Saturday.

Our View: Hall more than doubled his RBI total tonight and now stands at seven on the season. He has 13 strikeouts and three walks on the season, pointing to the fact that his batting eye has not improved and continues to hinder his production.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 3/18, 6:21 PM CT
Bill Hall was 1-for-3 in Wednesday's 4-1 victory, but left four runners stranded on the base paths. He is hitting .300 this spring.

Our View: Last season Hall was a huge disappointment, and his trouble with right handed pitching has been his demise. Once a promising fantasy IF/OF Hall has dropped to the bottom of drafts boards, if not completely off.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 3/11, 6:56 PM CT
Third baseman Bill Hall could play this weekend for the first time this spring. He took batting practice and played catch on Wednesday as he works his way back from a torn calf muscle.

Our View: Hall has been a disappointment most of the past two seasons, and if he proves he can't hit righties soon, he will not be more than a platoon player for the remainder of his career.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 3/4, 12:04 PM CT
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Bill Hall's injured calf is steadily improving. He has participated in hitting and fielding drills and has graduated to some light running.

Our View: The Brewers aren't rushing Hall back any time soon, but he'll definitely see some action during spring training.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 2/20, 3:14 PM CT
Bill Hall is improving in his recovery from a partially torn calf, but is doubtful to be ready to participate in Cactus League games next week, according to MLB.com. He said, "I suppose there is always a possibility. But head athletic trainer Roger Caplinger does not want me to rush back in. We have got a lot of games down here, and if I miss one week, I do not think it is going to be that detrimental." He was able to take swings in the batting cage today, which went well.

Our View: Hall has pop in his bat, but has been inconsistent, which forced him into a platoon twice last season. Hall could land on the bench this season, namely if Mat Gamel is ready to take over at third.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 2/15, 3:57 PM CT
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Bill Hall hopes to be back from a partially torn calf within a couple of weeks. It was orignially prognosticated that he would miss four to six weeks.

Our View: Hall would be wise to let his injury properly heal, as it is the type of thing that would just become easier and easier to re-injure if it's not 100 percent.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 2/13, 7:16 PM CT
As expected, Brewers third baseman Bill Hall is expected to miss four weeks with a partial tear in his left calf muscle, the Associated Press reports. Hall could be out as long as six weeks.

Our View: Recently acquired Mike Lamb, who finalized a one-year deal with Milwaukee in December, could end up seeing a majority of the reps at third during the spring and may end up platooning with Hall there during the season.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 2/13, 2:04 PM CT
Bill Hall suffered a partial tear of the left calf muscle and will be on the shelf during spring training for at least four weeks, according to the Sports Network. He was injured during conditioning.

Our View: Hall has power, but his low batting average and OBP leave a bit to be desired. The injury looks to hurt his bid to be the Brewers' starting third baseman for opening day.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 12/11, 9:47 AM CT
The Yankees like Bill Hall as well as Mike Cameron, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: The Yankees would like to enrich their trade for Mike Cameron to include Hall. The club would add Hall to provide a right-handed bat who can back up Alex Rodriguez at third base. The Brewers are said to be getting Melky Cabrera in the deal, but the Yankees may not be willing to give up Ian Kennedy.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/20, 4:12 PM CT
Bill Hall did not contribute offensively to the Brewers 5-2 win over Houston on Wednesday. Instead, he went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts, earning him the dreaded golden sombrero.

Our View: For the month of August, Hall has struck out 15 times in 29 at-bats, or 52 percent of the time. That's really all fantasy owners need to know at this point.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 7/29, 4:32 PM CT
Bill Hall is out of the lineup tonight for the Milwaukee Brewers as he is hitting just .184 against Chicago Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Hall has a decent amount of home runs with 14 on the year, but his batting average overall is .230, so he probably should not be on fantasy rosters, but if he is, make the appropriate changes.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 7/22, 9:48 PM CT
Bill Hall hit his second game-winning home run in as many nights against the Cardinals on Tuesday. It was his only hit in four at-bats.

Our View: Hall is crushing the ball in July. His average is up to .370 on the month to go with four home runs, 13 RBI and 11 runs scored.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/11, 10:31 PM CT
Bill Hall filled in as a pinch-hitter on Friday and finished the game 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored.

Our View: Hall and Russell Branyan seem to be in an unofficial platoon at this point. Hall's terrible June won't be repeated if he only sees lefties.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/9, 10:59 PM CT
The Brewers suffered the the 8-3 loss this evening against Colorado, though third baseman Bill Hall tried his best to reverse their fortunes. Hall went 2-for-4 at the dish with his 16th double and 12th homer of the season, totaling one RBI and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Hall hit just .164 through 55 June at-bats, though his six homers with 15 RBIs was of great benefit for fantasy owners and the Brewers alike. Through 24 July at-bats, he's hitting .417 with two homers and nine RBIs, well on pace to exceed those numbers last month.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 7/5, 5:02 PM CT
Bill Hall will be in the lineup on Saturday as the Brewers are facing left-hander Paul Maholm, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: Hall, who continues to split time at the hot corner with Russell Branyan, has been hideous versus right handers (.154 with a .510 OPS), but dynamic against lefties (.360/1.057).
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/28, 3:49 PM CT
Regular first baseman Prince Fielder will once again be filling designated hitter duties for Milwaukee in interleague action against Minnesota today, but putting Russell Branyan at first base has surprised local reporters, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: The move also puts Bill Hall at third base, potentially the driving force behind the changes. Hall is 3-for-10 versus Minnesota star Livan Hernandez and will hit seventh in the order.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/13, 6:35 PM CT
Bill Hall is getting another start at second base in Friday's first game of a three-game series against the American League Twins. Hall is hitting seventh in the batting order.

Our View: Hall hasn't been effective against right-handed pitching but he's in the lineup against Minnesota's Kevin Slowey.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/11, 6:17 PM CT
Bill Hall will not be in the Brewers lineup on Wednesday as he will be replaced in the starting lineup by Craig Counsell, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: With Rickie Weeks out of action with an injured knee, the Brewers made some lineup changes including putting Hall at second base. However, Hall will only play when the matchup is best, with Counsell and Joe Dillon likely seeing the majority of time.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/10, 8:36 PM CT
Milwaukee manager Ned Yost was forced to make a few changes to the Brewers starting lineup this evening, according to MLB.com.

Our View: With second baseman Rickie Weeks on the disabled list with a left knee injury, Yost moved right fielder Corey Hart up to the leadoff hole and used Bill Hall at second base for the first time this season. Yost also dropped outfielder Mike Cameron from the two-hole and replaced him with shortstop J.J. Hardy, who had success in that spot last season batting in front of No. 3 hitter Ryan Braun.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/3, 7:38 AM CT
Bill Hall reportedly wants out of Milwaukee, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Terry Bross (his agent) stated that it would be in the best interest of Hall and the Brewers to deal him to another team where he can play regularly.

Our View: Hall was irritated when the team called up Russell Branyan from Triple-A Nashville on May 24, reducing Hall to a platoon role at third base. Hall has nine homers over 185 at-bats, but holds a low .227 average. You cannot fault the Brewers for bringing in Branyan.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/27, 6:24 PM CT
Bill Hall has found himself in a platoon at third base because of his inability to hit righties, and he's not happy. "Obviously, they're not happy with me hitting off righties. I'm not happy with me hitting off righties," Hall said. "(But) I'm not the only one that's struggling with right-handed pitching—or pitching in general." Manager Ned Yost didn't mind Hall being upset. "If Bill Hall was happy about it, I wouldn't want him on this team," Yost said.

Our View: Russell Branyan is starting at third tonight with the right-handed Tim Hudson on the mound, and Craig Counsell will also see significant action there in the future.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/21, 6:18 PM CT
Manager Ned Yost told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Bill Hall is likely to sit more often against right-handers in favor of Craig Counsell. Hall is ripping lefties to the tune of a .371 average but has managed just a .163 clip against righties.

Our View: Hall has nine homers on the year but is batting just .207, making him a risky play in mixed leagues.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/13, 10:14 PM CT
Bill Hall powered his ninth ball into the seats on Tuesday for the Brew Crew as he upped his average to .200.

Our View: Nine home runs and 21 RBI are nice, but that .200 average has more than equalized that production. Hall continues to strikeout out at an alarming rate, he has 40 in 39 games, and will need to make better contact to provide solid overall value this season.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 4/27, 5:40 PM CT
Bill Hall hit his seventh home run of the year off Florida Taylor Tankersley in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as the Brewers lost their 11 game against 14 win on Sunday against Florida.

Our View: Hall, who is hitting a soft .223 on the season, has been an all or nothing bat this season, either going long or striking out. Seven of Hall's 21 hits are home runs and he's struck out 26 times in 94 at-bats this season.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 4/19, 3:43 PM CT
Bill Hall did most of the heavy lifting on offense for the Brewers today as Milwaukee put the Cincinnati Reds to bed by a score of 5-3. Hall was 2-for-5 at the plate, hitting his third double of the season with three RBIs on the day.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 4/18, 9:24 PM CT
Bill Hall went deep for the sixth time on Friday night as he also knocked in his 12th and 13th runs of the season.

Our View: Hall still is hitting a poor .210, and he picked up two more K tonight giving him 20 in 16 games, so until he puts the bat on the ball with more frequency his average figures to be below par.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 4/17, 1:47 PM CT
Bill Hall has gone back to wearing contacts after choosing not to wear them the past three years, this according to MLB.com. "Now, when I take my contacts out at night I'm like, 'Why did I ever not wear them?'" Hall said. "Maybe that was my problem last year."

Our View: Ya think? It always amazes us, the stupidity of some players. If you go to the eye doctor and they tell you that you need correction to see better, why not listen to them? Hall has five HR in the early going but he has has 18 K and just one BB, so maybe the contacts aren't helping that much after all.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 4/4, 5:06 PM CT
Bill Hall had a career day Friday, belting a pair of homers while driving in six runs in a 13-4 spanking of the Giants. Hall will gain back third base eligibility in the majority of leagues shortly, which will increase his fantasy value.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 3/28, 9:00 PM CT
Bill Hall will bat fifth at the beginning of the year for the Brewers, with Corey Hart hitting sixth, manager Ned Yost told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "They're close," said Yost. "Billy has had some really good at-bats in spring training." The spring numbers would seem to favor Hart (.234-3-13) over Hall (.268-0-3, with 24 strikeouts in 64 at-bats), but regardless, Hall should be better this year than he was last year no matter where he hits.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 2/28, 7:03 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, not only are Bill Hall and his injured finger OK, he was actually in the Brewers starting lineup on Thursday and had a single in his first AB proving his toughness and determination to make the switch to third base this season. Hall had a disappointing 2007 with only 59 runs, 14 HR and four SB, so look for him to try and build on those numbers in a very deep Brewers lineup this season.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 2/28, 2:36 PM CT
Following up on an earlier report that Bill Hall went to a local Phoenix hospital for X-rays; the news from JS Online says the tests were negative on his injured right ring finger. Hall didn't suffer a fracture. The report notes that the early diagnosis is a lacerated nail bed. Hall returned to the stadium and started for the Brewers in their Cactus league opener.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 2/28, 2:12 PM CT
Bill Hall injured his right ring finger during team drills on Thursday morning, this according to JS Online. Hall was taken to a Phoenix hospital for x-rays. The report notes that Hall was fielding grounders at third base and a ball took a bad hop and hit his throwing hand. Manager Ned Yost said there was a little blood but said the severity of the injury wouldn't be known until X-rays are taken.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 2/26, 2:08 PM CT
Bill Hall had a shaky first day Monday as he tried to get re-acclimated to the infield, but he was much better on Tuesday at the hot corner. "He looks great, no joke," manager Ned Yost said in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "He looks very good, very smooth at third base." Hall is moving back to the infield after spending the 2007 season in center field. Hopefully the move will let him focus more on offense, as his production at the plate dipped big time last year.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/12, 11:38 AM CT
Bill Hall was not in the starting lineup Tuesday for the second straight night and the sixth time in the last eight games. Manager Ned Yost has been playing Corey Hart in center and Gabe Gross in right against right-handed pitching. "I think Billy understands that you can win a game last just as easily as you can starting a game," Yost said in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "He's willing to do whatever it takes to help this team win, too. There's no room for selfishness this time of the year. There's not. Billy's done a great job of being there supporting everybody and doing what he can do any given day to help this team win."
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 8/30, 4:44 AM CT
Bill Hall, in a 4-for-24 slump, was held out of Wednesday's lineup. He picked up a late at-bat in the game, lining out in the ninth.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/25, 4:22 PM CT
The Brewers activated Bill Hall from the DL on Wednesday, according to Sports Ticker. He had been out since July 6 with a high ankle sprain. Hall, who is hitting .271 with nine homers and 38 RBI on the year, will go back to manning center field for the Brewers.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 7/23, 12:04 AM CT

Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 7/22, 8:29 AM CT
Bill Hall is slated to head out Sunday to begin a brief rehab assignment. He'll play with the Brewers' Arizona Rookie League club on Monday and Tuesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. If all goes well with his sprianed ankle, Hall will be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/19, 12:45 PM CT
Bill Hall, who is battling a sprained right ankle, took fly balls in the outfield during batting practice Wednesday and is doing more running, including making turns, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Hall is expected to take some batting practice on Thursday for the first time since his injury. He is on pace to return next week.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/18, 2:24 AM CT
Bill Hall (ankle) worked on lateral movements Tuesday, the Brewers official site reports. He is eligible to return from the DL on Friday but conceded that is unlikely; Hall expects to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big club.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/13, 9:31 AM CT
Bill Hall believes he'll be able to return to action next weekend. "I might be a little bit ahead of schedule, I hope," Hall tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I'm not looking at four to six (weeks). I'm looking when I come off the DL next Friday I'll be playing." He sprained his right ankle on July 5.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 7/7, 8:49 AM CT
The Brewers placed Bill Hall on the disabled list prior to Friday's game due to his ankle injury. Manager Ned Yost said he expected Hall to miss 2-6 weeks of action, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Hall has a high-ankle sprain, an injury that can linger for quite a while, though some players can make a quick recovery. Odds are he won't be back until at least late July.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/6, 10:02 AM CT
Bill Hall likely won't be back on the field for a few weeks. He suffered a high right ankle sprain on Thursday afternoon. X-rays showed no fractures, and he will undergo an MRI soon. "I'll have to wait and see how much swelling there is," Hall tells the AP. "Hopefully I'm a quick healer." He has no timetable for his return.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/5, 3:15 PM CT
Bill Hall left Thursday's game in the bottom of the second inning after injuring his right ankle. Hall twisted his ankle when attempting to rob Pirates catcher Ryan Doumit of a home run. He limped off the field with help from the trainers, the AP reports.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 4/16, 10:13 PM CT
Bill Hall broke out of his 1-for-22 slump Monday by smashing his first career grand slam. Hall's been off to a rough start this season, as his lone hit in four at-bats in the game raised his average to .179.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 4/14, 8:17 AM CT
Before last night's game was rained out, Brewers manager Ned Yost had planned to give Bill Hall his second straight game off, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "It gives Billy a chance to regroup and get back on track," Yost said. Hall is hitting just .194 this season.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 4/10, 11:05 AM CT
Bill Hall not only is off to a 5-for-24 start at the plate, but he's also had some troubles in center field, his new position, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. Hall's worst game of the year was probably Monday night, as he went 0-for-3 and had a miscue on the bases and in the field. "We're still going through some growing pains out there," manager Ned Yost said. "At shortstop, you don't go tremendous long distances for balls. You've got to stay up on your toes so your head stays smooth." The Brewers skipper didn't seem long-term concerned about Hall's defense, though. "Billy's going to be fine. He'll work through it."
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 3/7, 11:59 PM CT
Bill Hall hit his second homer of the spring Wednesday, the AP reports. Just as important was his play on defense, as he made a few impressive running catches in his new position, center field.
Bill Hall, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 2/15, 9:15 AM CT
Manager Ned Yost confirmed Tuesday what had been everyone's inkling, that Bill Hall will be the Brewers' starting centerfielder in 2007, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I'm going to put Billy in center," confirmed Yost. "When we start out, we're going to send Billy to center field and probably put Corey Hart in right." Some had thought that the Brewers may try Hall at one of the corner outfield spots.

Bill Hall signed a four-year, $24 million deal with the Brewers Monday, according to the AP. The deal includes a $9.25 team option for 2011. "The timing was just right," Hall told the newspaper in a telephone interview from Phoenix. "I always wanted to stay in Milwaukee. We've got a good thing going there. Now, I know I'll be there for a long time." Hall is slated to play center field for Milwaukee this season.

The Brewers are believed to be working on a long-term deal with Bill Hall, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "We've had some conversations about that, but I don't want to get into the details of it," said Melvin, who spoke Wednesday with Hall's agent, Gregg Clifton. "I'd like to keep that quiet." The club is apparently interested in buying out all three of Hall's arbitration years and possibly a year of free agency. Hall will move to the outfield in 2007, and it appears as though the tentative plan is to put him in center field.

Brewers GM Doug Melvin said that the team will not move Bill Hall back to third base even if Corey Koskie is unable to play at the start of the season, according to the Appleton Post-Crescent. Since prospect Ryan Braun is expected to be ready to take over third base no later than 2008, the Brewers don't want to put Hall in a situation where he'll have to change positions again.

Although most of the speculation has Bill Hall playing left field next season, it sounds like he might play center. In an online chat on the team's website, Brewers GM Doug Melvin said "Billy Hall also has a chance to be an above-average offensive player for a center fielder."

The Brewers' signing of Craig Counsell all but confirms that Bill Hall will move to the outfield next season. He will most likely play left field, though it's possible he could get a shot in center.
