Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 9/29, 8:09 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Cody Ross was able to swing a bat on Tuesday and is targeting this weekend as his return to the lineup.

Our View: Ross has been out since last Saturday with a bruised wrist and had issues with swelling and movement, but it appears the wrist is improving. Owners in the final playoff round of head to head leagues would like to get Ross' bat back in the lineup for a few more games down the stretch. He's popped 24 homers and driven in 90 this season with the Marlins.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsMonday 9/28, 4:36 PM CT
Cody Ross is out of tonight's lineup at Atlanta while dealing with a bruised left wrist, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: The slugger is day-to-day, but it is possible he is done for 2009 with just a handful of games left on the slate. Brett Carroll will roam in right field in his absence.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 9/27, 11:33 PM CT
According to the Miami Herald, the pain in Cody Ross' injured wrist has worsened and he may miss the remainder of the season.

Our View: Ross' wrist was bandaged while he sat on the bench on Sunday, but he has problems with swelling and mobility and can't turn his hand over. The MRI revealed no break, but if it hurts too much to move it he's not going to be able to swing a bat. Consider him day-to-day, but those days could add up to the rest of the season.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 9/26, 7:34 PM CT
Cody Ross left Saturday's game against the Mets in the fourth inning after getting hit on the left hand by a pitch.

Our View: No report on the seriousness of the injury, but he should be considered day-to-day for now. Ross was replaced in center field by Cameron Maybin.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 9/16, 4:33 PM CT
Cody Ross went 3-for-4 with two RBI on Wednesday, helping the Marlins beat the Cardinals 5-2 and take two out of three games in St. Louis.

Our View: With 87 RBI and 16 games left, Ross has an outside chance at his first 100-RBI campaign if he can get hot down the stretch.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 9/9, 9:02 PM CT
Cody Ross delivered the big blow on Wednesday night, jacking a three-run first inning home run, as the Marlins won 7-3 at Citi Field.

Our View: The home run was Ross' first since August 8th, a span of 28 games. On the season, he is batting .267 with 21 homers and 79 RBI.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 8/16, 7:53 PM CT
Cody Ross went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the second game of a doubleheader with the Rockies on Sunday. The 7-3 Rockies win resulted in a split.

Our View: Ross went 4-for-5 with an RBI in the first game Sunday, giving him a 6-for-9, two-RBI performance for the day. Not bad production for one day of baseball.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 8/14, 8:01 AM CT
According to the Palm Beach Post, Cody Ross left Thursday's game in the seventh inning due to tightness in his back.

Our View: The Marlins don't feel the injury is serious and Ross is expected to be back in the lineup on Friday. The outfielder is hot right now and should be fine to keep in fantasy lineups for the weekend.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 8/2, 8:49 PM CT
Cody Ross belted a pair of home runs against the Cubs on Sunday. The second was a walk-off shot against Chicago closer Kevin Gregg and gave the Marlins a 3-2 win.

Our View: Ross now has 17 homers on the season and one would have to think that Sunday's second blast was the biggest. He only homered twice in the entire month of July, so matching that total two days into August bodes well for Ross and his owners.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsThursday 7/30, 10:02 PM CT
Cody Ross went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Javier Vazquez in tonight's 6-3 loss to Atlanta at home.

Our View: Ross snapped a 21-game drought without a homer, and has 15 for the season. Hopefully fantasy owners won't have to wait long for his next dinger.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 7/18, 10:57 PM CT
Cody Ross missed Saturday's game while battling the flu, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: He played through the illness Friday, but was held out tonight as he was not feeling better. The Marlins are hopeful he will return in a day or two.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 7/7, 11:36 PM CT
Cody Ross had one of only four Marlins hits on Tuesday night, as Barry Zito flashed his old Cy Young form in 8.1 dominant innings, leading the Giants to a 3-0 victory.

Our View: Ross has developed into a consistent power threat for the Marlins, and is worth a look as a third or fourth outfielder in most formats.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 7/1, 4:17 PM CT
First, Cody Ross homered in the seventh inning of the Marlins game against the Nationals on Wednesday to tie it, then he singled in another run in the eighth to complete the Marlins come-from-behind 5-3 victory.

Our View: The Marlins are now 9-0 against the Nationals in 2009, and have come from behind to win an astonishing seven straight times against their hapless division rivals.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 6/24, 11:08 PM CT
Cody Ross carried the Marlins offensively in tonight's 5-2 win over the Orioles, as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI. He hit two doubles and a single.

Our View: Ross ranks second on the Marlins behind Jorge Cantu (45) with 43 RBI. He also extended his hitting streak to five games, with three hits coming in each of his last two. Keep him active in fantasy leagues while he is swinging a hot stick.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 6/21, 7:48 PM CT
Cody Ross went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Brett Tomko in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees at home.

Our View: Ross collected his 12th homer of the season, and ranks second on the Marlins behind Dan Uggla (13). Ross has a homer in two of his last three games, and has five so far this month.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 6/19, 9:56 PM CT
Cody Ross went 1-for-3 with a solo homer off Andy Pettitte in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Yankees at home.

Our View: Ross is only hitting .265, but remains a nice source for power in fantasy leagues with 11 homers. He has four homers so far in June.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 6/13, 3:39 PM CT
Cody Ross had a monster day on Saturday in the Marlins' 6-5 win over the Blue Jays. Ross went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two runs, and two RBI in the game.

Our View: Nice day for Ross this afternoon. All three of his hits were for extra bases, and he played a large role in the Marlins' win. Ross has some power, and he could be an option in NL-only leagues. Don't expect the average to be great, but he can drive in runs.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 6/12, 10:36 PM CT
Cody Ross went 1-for-4 with a grand slam off reliever Brandon League in Friday's 7-3 win at Toronto.

Our View: Ross ended an eight-game skid without a homer, and now has nine for the season.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 6/3, 5:30 PM CT
Cody Ross is not in the starting lineup for the Marlins on Wednesday, according to the Miami Herald. He is getting the night off and will be replaced by Alejandro De Aza in center field.

Our View: Ross hit a grand slam and recorded five RBI on Tuesday. He has eight home runs and 33 RBI on the season. However, he has 42 strikeouts compared to only 11 walks. Expect him back in the lineup on Thursday.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 6/2, 9:23 PM CT
Cody Ross led the Marlins in Tuesday's 10-1 win over the Brewers, as he went 2-for-5 with five RBI. He hit a single and a grand slam.

Our View: Ross remains a solid source for power in NL-only leagues as he swatted his eighth homer.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 5/27, 9:17 PM CT
Cody Ross was 3-for-4 with a homer, a pair of RBI and three runs scored in the Marlins' 6-2 win over the Phillies on Wednesday.

Our View: Ross is starting to get hot at the plate. He has six hits in last two games and boosted his average from .239 to .263. The Marlins could use more contributions from him with Hanley Ramirez on the shelf.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 5/26, 10:08 PM CT
Cody Ross went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Phillies.

Our View: Ross is now hitting .252 with six homers and 26 RBI and is a good option in NL-only leagues. He's a decent play in mixed leagues if you need outfield help.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 5/17, 3:51 PM CT
Cody Ross went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 12-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Our View: Ross is only hitting .225, but has been a good source for power in NL-only leagues with six home runs. He has a hit in three straight games, with two homers over the span.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 5/15, 11:38 PM CT
Cody Ross hit a home run and drove in two in the Marlins' 6-4 loss to the Dodgers. Ross was 1-for-3 on the day.

Our View: Ross is still hitting an abysmal .210, but he has shown the ability to hit for some power. His fantasy value is low even in NL-only leagues right now, so don't play him unless it is completely necessary.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 5/2, 2:58 PM CT
Outfielder Cody Ross went 1-for-3 with a solo homer on Saturday. It was his fifth home run of the season.

Our View: Ross has been cold lately, and he had gone 10 games without smacking a homer. He tends to be very streaky, and fantasy owners simply have to deal with it if they need his power.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 4/26, 2:46 PM CT
Outfielder Cody Ross went 3-for-4 with a run in Sunday's loss to the Phillies. He also pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit.

Our View: Ross was just about the only Marlin to show up and play well on Sunday. NL-only owners can spend their Mondays lobbying to get this scoreless inning into their pitching stats.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 4/22, 2:57 PM CT
Cody Ross went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's 7-4 loss at Pittsburgh. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Ross recorded his third multi-hit game of the season, and snapped a two-game skid without a hit.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 4/19, 4:42 PM CT
Cody Ross went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and five RBI as the Marlins came back to beat the Nationals 7-4.

Our View: Ross has homered in three of his last four games and has 10 RBI in that stretch. He is a streaky hitter and is clearly on fire at the moment.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 4/17, 10:25 PM CT
Outfielder Cody Ross only went 1-for-5 on Friday night, but his one hit was a solo homer. He has gone yard in two straight games. Ross also struck out twice and left five men on base against the Nationals.

Our View: This night is Ross in a nutshell. He has a lot of raw power, but he also strikes out a lot and isn't terribly reliable. If you can take the bad average, the homers will come.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsThursday 4/16, 2:07 PM CT
Cody Ross snapped out of his slump in a big way in Thursday's 6-2 win over Atlanta. The outfielder finished 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and a run scored.

Our View: Ross had just three hits and one RBI entering the game, so those owners that were holding onto him still were certainly relieved to see today's performance. He will continue to struggle with his average, but he has serious power and is a fairly regular starter this season in Florida.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 4/14, 3:09 PM CT
Cody Ross will ride the pine for Tuesday's game at Atlanta, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: Alfredo Amezaga will start in right field in his place. Ross is off to a poor start with just two hits over his first 22 at-bats, with five strikeouts.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 3/20, 3:20 PM CT
Cody Ross went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI in Friday's 8-6 win over Atlanta. He hit a single and a double, and drew one walk.

Our View: Ross hit 22 homers in 2008, and should remain a viable source for power in 2009, especially with Josh Willingham out of the outfield mix.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsMonday 3/16, 12:23 PM CT
Cody Ross has been scratched from today's lineup while dealing with a tight left calf, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Our View: Ross looks to get regular at-bats in 2009 following the departure of Josh Willingham to Washington. He has solid power and would be worth a look in NL-only leagues if healthy.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 3/8, 4:42 PM CT
Cody Ross was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI Sunday in Florida's 9-8 win over St. Louis.

Our View: Ross was an effective part of the Marlins' offense a season ago hitting 22 home runs with 73 RBI in only 461 AB. He figures to once again be a valuable, yet underrated, option in the outfield in NL-only leagues.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 2/20, 12:21 PM CT
Cody Ross has left camp with the Marlins to attend to his wife Summer, who gave birth to a girl Thursday, according to FishStripes.com.

Our View: Ross is expected to return to camp on Saturday. Ross is expected to start in right field this season, and should provide fantasy owners a solid source for homers, if willing to deal with his high strikeout-rate and hot-and-cold streaks.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 1/20, 11:59 AM CT
Cody Ross avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.225 million deal on Tuesday, the Miami Herald reports.

Our View: Ross is coming off a breakout season that included 22 homers and 73 RBI, and he is slated to start in right field this season. The power is real, but there's also a real good reason Cody didn't find an every-day gig until 2008. His bat tends to run very hot and very cold, and he carries risk for fantasy teams.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 8/26, 10:09 PM CT
Cody Ross had three hits, including his 19th homer, in the Marlins' 10-9 loss Tuesday. He drove in four runs on the night.

Our View: Ross has had a decent year, but his .262 average is low enough that his so-so power really helps in only NL-only leagues.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 8/22, 11:46 PM CT
Cody Ross broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning with his 18th home run of the season, which led the Marlins to a 5-4 win over Arizona. Ross was 3-for-4 on the night, with two RBI.

Our View: Ross has good power numbers, but his OBP of .317 leaves a lot to be desired, and makes him a candidate only for NL-only leagues.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 8/16, 5:22 PM CT
Cody Ross will bat second in Saturday's tilt against the Cubs, the Palm Beach Post notes. The outfielder has spent most of the season hitting either sixth or seventh.

Our View: Marlins No. 2 hitters have batted .244 this year, which ranks 28th in the majors. Ross seems like an unlikely cure, but it's interesting to know that he'll have the opportunity. The No. 2 spot could be very productive.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsThursday 8/14, 2:38 PM CT
Cody Ross is out of Thursday's lineup due to an arm injury, according to the Miami Herald. Ross took a Russ Springer fastball on the left arm in the sixth inning of Tuesday's win over St. Louis and refused to come out of the game despite being in pain. He said, "It's a little swollen and a little bruised so they decided to give me a little rest. It flared up right away. I was trying to throw in the outfield and I had a little problem doing that. But I wanted to stay in for defensive reasons. That was a big game for us. I didn't want to come out. But it was getting worse. It really tightened up on me."

Our View: Consider him day-to-day. Ross has been a favorable source of power for NL-only leagues as he blasted 17 homers so far this season.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsMonday 8/11, 9:56 PM CT
Cody Ross went deep for the 17th time on Monday night, a solo shot that produced his 55th RBI of the year for the Marlins.

Our View: Ross has slowed of late hitting an anemic .180 without a home run in 19 games, but his blast tonight leaves him three short of his first 20-HR season and gives him 29 HR and 94 RBI over his last 494 AB dating back to the start of last season.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 7/16, 5:34 PM CT
Cody Ross, Hanley Ramirez, Dan Uggla, Mike Jacobs and Jorge Cantu are all on pace to hit at least 25 home runs this season for the Marlins, according to MLB.com. "Because we have a lot of power guys, we are going to drive the ball," Jacobs said. "That's going to account for a lot of doubles and a lot of home runs. I just think by the way we are, we're going to have big power numbers, up and down our lineup

Our View: Ramirez, Uggla and Jacobs figured to reach that mark this season, but Ross and Cantu have been huge for the Marlins and represent two of the better waiver wire pickups this season. Ross, in particular, might still be available in some mixed leagues, and if he is you might want to look his way since he is hitting .373 with 19 RBI in his last 19 games.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 7/13, 11:23 AM CT
Cody Ross changed his approach at the plate to concentrate less on power, and he now has a 16-game hitting streak, and has hit in 21 of his past 22 games, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: Ross' performance should be registering with fantasy owners. His power has decreased somewhat as his approach changed, but his average has skyrocketed. This isn't likely to last, but it wouldn't hurt to grab him off the waiver wire if he is available.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 7/6, 6:35 PM CT
Cody Ross has an incredible four straight 3-for-5 games. On Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, he collected five RBI and his 15th home run of the season.

Our View: Unbelievable. Ross has 15 RBI in his last four games. He has raised his average from .232 to .266 in a matter of days. It's hard to believe he can keep this up. If you started him over this stretch, you, my friend, deserve a solid gold trophy.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 7/5, 10:33 PM CT
Cody Ross ripped his 14th home run leading to three hits, two runs and four RBI for the Marlins.

Our View: Over his last three starts Ross has nine hits and 10 RBI as he has boosted his average to .258. Ross has carved out a niche for himself in the Marlins lineup and doesn't appear to want to give it up anytime soon.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 7/4, 11:24 PM CT
Cody Ross went 3-for-5 with five RBI in Friday's 18-17 loss in a slugfest against the Rockies at Coors Field. He hit a double and two singles. He has recorded three hits in back-to-back games against Colorado.

Our View: He extended his hitting streak to eight games, with nine RBI over the span. He is worth starting in NL-only leagues while he is hot.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 6/7, 10:12 PM CT
Cody Ross hit his 11th home run in the ninth innings against the Reds to finish up a 2-for-4 day with three RBI. He also stole his fourth base of the season in the game.

Our View: Ross has now gone deep five times in his last 10 games with 12 RBI marking himself as a terrific pick up if you are looking to play the hot hand.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 5/28, 10:00 PM CT
The Marlins somehow managed to push the Mets to 12 innings despite posting just five total hits in the game, but in the end it was the Mets who prevailed with the win, 7-6. Outfielder Cody Ross was the top man on offense for the Marlins, going 2-for-5 with two homers, four RBIs, and two runs scored.

Our View: Ross now touts seven RBIs over his last three games.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 5/16, 7:41 PM CT
Cody Ross is working his way into what could be a full-time role as the leadoff hitter and center fielder for the Marlins, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Apparently manager Fredi Gonzalez commented he might give Ross five straight starts, which has set this whole thing in motion. Since he hit .335 in 173 AB last year, that might be a good idea. Still, he doesn't figure to be more than a very low end mixed league option.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 5/14, 10:08 PM CT
The battle lasted lasted 10 inning, but the Cincinnati Reds emerged victorious, winning 7-6 over the Florida Marlins. For the Marlins, it was newly-crowned leadoff man CF Cody Ross getting the job done on offense. Ross went 1-for-4, making the one hit good for a three-run homer in the 9th inning to help Florida surge with six total runs to tie it up late.

Our View: Ross has been sharing time in the field but got the call tonight thanks to his hot bat, now sitting at 6-for-20 with four homers in the month of May.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 5/14, 7:35 PM CT
The Florida Marlins are seeking ways to keep their offense fresh and their first step came this evening as OF Cody Ross has been moved into the leadoff position in the batting order, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Ross has been platooning with switch-hitting Alfredo Amezaga, but Amezaga has failed to hit as hoped and now Ross is getting his chance to shine, getting the start this evening and looking to improve on his 3-for-11 numbers as the leadoff man thus far.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 5/10, 11:03 PM CT
Florida OF Cody Ross is one of few members of the Marlins lineup struggling to hit, but tonight he got it going in the right direction as the Marlins put an 11-0 whooping on the Washington Nationals. Ross went 1-for-3 with two walks, adding his second homer of the season total three runs scored and one RBI.

Our View: Both of Ross' homers come in the month of May as do all four of his RBIs.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 5/9, 6:35 PM CT
Cody Ross, who hit .146 with one run scored and two RBI during April, is in the starting lineup on Friday night against right-hander Tim Redding. Switch-hitter Alfredo Amezaga is on the bench tonight.

Our View: Starting the right-handed Ross is somewhat of a surprise considering in Redding's last start against the Fish he struck out 10 batters.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsThursday 5/1, 2:47 PM CT
Cody Ross went 1-for-3 and blasted a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers. That was his first home run of the season.

Our View: Ross is platooning with Alfredo Amezega in center field, and this was a good day for him in his bid to earn more playing time. He was only hitting .146 heading into today's contest.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsTuesday 4/1, 6:06 PM CT
Cody Ross and Alfredo Amezega will platoon in center field for the time being, with Ross starting against lefties and Amezega against righties. However, it's possible Ross could eventually win the everyday job. "I'm not opposed to Cody being the every day guy as soon as his legs are built up," manager Fredi Gonzalez said on MLB.com. Ross dealt with a knee injury in spring training. He's talented enough to be a viable mixed league option if he plays every day.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsMonday 3/31, 11:26 AM CT
Cody Ross will get the opening day start in CF, according to the AP. Ross gets the start against Santana, while Amazaga will start on Tuesday. A platoon seems imminent this season.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 3/28, 6:04 PM CT
Cody Ross, who is recovering from a bone bruise on his knee, played in a minor-league game Friday. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said that Ross should be ready for opening day and that the outfielder would likely get the start in center field against Mets' lefty Johan Santana, according to MLB.com. Ross could be worthy of a mixed league pick if he was playing every day, but he will share time with Alejandro De Aza, at least initially.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 3/26, 2:26 PM CT
Cody Ross took some batting practice swings and jogged on Wednesday, MLB.com reports. He is dealing with a bone bruise on his left knee and is aiming to be ready for opening day. Ross will platoon with Alejandro De Aza until Cameron Maybin is ready to take over in center.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsWednesday 3/26, 7:45 AM CT
An MRI taken on Monday confirmed that Cody Ross has a bone bruise on the outside of his left knee. He is expected to be ready for opening day, the Miami Herald reports. Ross could find himself watching Alejandro De Aza starting in center on that day, though.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 3/21, 4:56 PM CT
Cody Ross says that the injury he suffered on Friday to his knee is minor and that it has nothing to do with the hamstring issues he experienced last season, this according to MLB.com. "I'm going to ice it today, and see how it feels," Ross said. "If it feels good tomorrow, I'll continue on with the activities. If it is sore, I'll just treat it day by day. I don't see this being at all a problem." Ross is batting for playing time on a team that has been beset by injuries in the OF, though he is nothing more than an NL Only play at the moment.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsFriday 3/21, 2:57 PM CT
Cody Ross had to leave Friday's game in the fifth inning, as he pulled up limping on an attempted steal of second, according to the Miami Herald. Ross missed a good chunk of last season with hamstring problems, but he was hoping an offseason procedure would correct the problem. His injury could open the door for Cameron Maybin to make the team.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 2/17, 4:52 PM CT
Cody Ross had a new medical procedure this off-season on his injured hamstring and the results appear to be very positive for team's leading returning hitter (.335) according to MLB.com. Ross will likely battle for the Marlins fifth OF spot, but if Cameron Maybin isn't ready to take over in CF, there is a chance that Ross could open the year in the starting lineup.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 9/22, 12:13 AM CT
Cody Ross left Friday's game against the Mets with tightness in his left hamstring, according to the AP. The severity of the injury is unclear at this time.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsThursday 7/19, 9:02 PM CT

Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 7/7, 7:31 AM CT
Cody Ross is close to beginning a rehab assignment, according to the Miami Herald. He's recovering from a strained left hamstring and probably won't be activated from the disabled list until the middle of the month.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 6/30, 7:12 AM CT
Cody Ross is showing some improvement in the condition of his strained left hamstring. He is now taking batting practice and should come off the disabled list in 2-2.5 weeks, according to the Miami Herald. You'll need to check in for updates, but if he doesn't have a setback, Ross should be back by mid July.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 6/9, 7:27 AM CT
Cody Ross won't return to action for quite a while. He suffered another setback in his recovery from a strained left hamstring this week, according to the Sun-Sentinel. It looks like even if all goes well from here on out, Ross won't come off the disabed list until late in June.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsMonday 5/21, 7:02 AM CT
Don't look for Cody Ross to come off the disabled list when eligible on Tuesday. Ross was testing his strained hamstring by running and hitting early last week, but he suffered a setback and has been shut down since, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Consider Ross week-to-week until he's able to do more with his injured leg.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSunday 5/6, 2:14 PM CT
The Marlins placed Cody Ross on the disabled list Sunday with a left hamstring injury, according to the AP. He suffered he injury during Saturday's contest. "Right before I hit third, I felt it," Ross said. "It kind of grabbed and something popped. It took all I had to get to home. My first thought was to go to the ground, but we needed that run." Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said it's uncertain whether Ross will be sidelined longer than two weeks.
Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 5/5, 9:45 PM CT

Cody Ross, CF, Florida MarlinsSaturday 3/31, 6:49 AM CT

Cody Ross had been bidding for the regular center field job with his great play, but a big slump (4-for-36) since July 28 has him spending most of his time on the bench, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Despite the great play of Cody Ross lately, manager Joe Girardi isn't ready to name him his starter in center field yet, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Ross, who has started the last six games, is hitting .417 (10-for-24) with four homers and six RBI over his last eight games. "He's going to play a lot. Look at his outs, they are bullets. He played very good defense, too," Girardi said.
