Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsWednesday 9/16, 9:11 PM CT
Willie Harris went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base out of the leadoff spot on Wednesday night, but that would be just about all the offensive production the Nationals could muster in a 6-1 loss to the Phillies.

Our View: Harris also drew two walks. While batting just .231 on the season, he has on-base percentage that is above .370. Still, he is obviously not an option in almost every format.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsTuesday 9/8, 9:18 PM CT
Willie Harris went 2-for-3 with a home run on Tuesday night, while also getting hit by two pitches, but it wasn't enough, as Washington lost 5-3 to the Phillies at home.

Our View: Harris has now homered in consecutive contests, but is still hitting just .230 on the season.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsSunday 6/28, 4:28 PM CT
Willie Harris had a nice afternoon at the plate for the Nationals in their 5-3 win over the Orioles. Harris went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, a run scored, and an RBI in the game.

Our View: Harris has had a very nice last couple of weeks, and he has pulled his average up to a respectable .248. After a very slow start to the season, it is starting to look like he could contribute in a fantasy setting. There are better options out there, but he could be worth a look if you are desperate in NL-only leagues.

Willie Harris pounded a walk-off two-run homer in the 12th inning on Saturday to give the Nationals a 5-3 win over the Blue Jays. Harris was 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, two RBI, and two runs scored in the game.

Our View: Harris was the unlikely hero tonight, but the Nats will take it from whoever they can get it from. Harris has no fantasy value as he is hitting only .228, but still a nice performance tonight.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsSaturday 6/6, 3:40 PM CT
According to the Washington Post, Willie Harris will play center field and hit sixth against the Mets on Saturday.

Our View: Austin Kearns gets the night off to make room for Harris, who is hitting .269 with a homer and nine RBI this season. He doesn't play enough to merit any legitimate fantasy consideration.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsTuesday 4/28, 12:15 PM CT
Willie Harris has been activated from the DL following his recovery from a pulled left oblique, according to TSN. The Nationals sent Justin Maxwell to the minors as the adjoining move.

Our View: The 30-year-old vet is a career .248 hitter, and does not hold much fantasy value as a reserve infielder.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsMonday 4/27, 8:11 PM CT
MLB.com reports that the Nationals will activate Willie Harris from the DL following Monday's game. He will serve as an extra outfielder for Washington. Manager Manny Acta hinted that Justin Maxwell will likely head back to Triple-A.

Our View: Harris holds no fantasy value as a reserve in Washington.

MASN reports that Willie Harris went to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday to begin his rehab assignment. He was placed on the DL on April 13 with a left oblique strain.

According to TSN, the Washington Nationals have placed second baseman Willie Harris on the 15- day DL with a left oblique strain.

Our View: Anderson Hernandez was removed from the DL and will start today at second with Harris and Ronnie Belliard both injured.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsSunday 4/12, 1:53 PM CT
Willie Harris exited Sunday's game against Atlanta in the third inning with a leg injury, according to the Sports Network.

Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsFriday 12/12, 5:09 PM CT
Willie Harris signed a two-year deal to remain with the Nationals on Friday, according to the Associated Press. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View: Harris batted .251 with 13 home runs and 43 RBI in 140 games in 2008.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsTuesday 9/2, 11:20 PM CT
Willie Harris was awful for the Nationals, going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in the Phillies 4-0 win against Washington.

Our View: Harris has been one of the few Nationals to have any fantasy value this season, and even then it was likely in NL-only leagues.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsFriday 8/22, 5:25 PM CT
Willie Harris had a huge day for Washington, hitting two home runs, scoring three times and knocking home six as the Nationals demolished the Cubs 13-5.

Our View: This was easily Harris' best performance of the year, so not too much should be read into it. Nonetheless, he could be of service to fantasy owners in NL-only leagues, as he has 12 home runs and eight stolen bases on the year.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsTuesday 8/19, 9:04 PM CT
The Nats and Phillies brought their sticks to the yard this evening as the hometown heroes, Philadelphia, emerged victorious, 5-4. The top fantasy man for Washington was outfielder Willie Harris, going 2-for-5 with his 10th homer of the season to total one RBI and two runs scored.

Our View: After hitting .291 last month with four homers and 15 RBIs, Harris has hit just .275 in August with three homers and eight RBIs. He still has time to improve, but we had hoped to see a significant level of progress.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsThursday 7/31, 9:21 PM CT
Willie Harris went 0-for-5 against the Phillies, but he still wound up hitting .291 for the month of July, and won a Player of the Week award.

Our View: Harris is a decent fantasy option, but only in deeper NL-only leagues.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsMonday 7/21, 3:35 PM CT
Willie Harris has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to the AP. Harris hit .583 (7-for-12) with one home run and seven RBI during the short week with the All-Star break.

Our View: Harris should remain active in fantasy lineups while he is hot. He has registered multiple hits in five of his last six games, with two homers and eight RBI over the span.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsSunday 7/20, 6:23 PM CT
The Nationals enjoyed an outstanding team effort on offense today, turning 17 hits into 15 runs to get the win over Atlanta, 15-6. The effort got started on the right foot bay leadoff hitter Willie Harris , going 2-for-3 with three walks and his sixth homer of the season, totaling a whopping five RBIs and one runs scored.

Our View: That's a huge day for any fantasy owner lucky enough to have Harris in the lineup, gifts he's been giving all month long. Harris is hitting .333 for the month of July, touting seven hits over his last three games with seven RBIs to match.
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsSaturday 7/12, 9:25 PM CT
The Nats suffered through the offensive drought through the roster this evening to earn the 6-4 loss against Houston, led by the leadoff bat of outfielder Willie Harris. Harris went 2-for-4 with his fourth double and fifth homer of the season, totaling one RBI and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: After hitting .293 last month, Harris has struggled through July, hitting just .233 with two RBIs coming into tonight. The Nats hope to see more from the top man in their order, especially considering his lack of basepath production this month (five stolen bases in June, none in July).
Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsFriday 5/30, 11:30 PM CT
Willie Harris went 1-for-5 and hit a three-run homer in Friday's 7-4 win over Arizona.

Our View: That was only his second homer and seventh RBI over 44 games this season, and his average stands at .172.

The move was needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Omar Infante and Will Ohman, two players that Atlanta acquired via trade from the Cubs. Willie Harris, CF, Washington NationalsFriday 8/10, 5:32 AM CT
Willie Harris had two important plays in the outfield Thursday, including a game-saving catch in the ninth inning that took a home run away from Carlos Delgado. Harris has been surprisingly useful for the Braves on offense, as well, hitting .328 along with 27 walks in 241 at-bats. His 16 steals also help fantasy teams, even if he's hurting the club there (he's been caught 10 times).

Willie Harris had four hits 5 in Saturday's win over Pittsburgh, making him 14-for-30 since joining the team at the end of April. Harris hasn't been playing against left-handed pitching, but he figures to start Sunday against Pittsburgh righty Ian Snell.
