Mike Rivera, C, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 8/14, 10:32 PM CT
A night after driving in five runs, reserve catcher Mike Rivera got on base four times, as the Brewers routed the Astros 11-2 at home.

Our View: With a .246 average and 11 RBI, he's still not someone to keep an eye on, but is someone to be happy for.

Backup catcher Mike Rivera's huge game helped the Brewers outlast the Padres on Thursday. The 32-year-old backstop belted two runs and drove in five runs as Milwaukee won 12-9 at home.

Our View: Rivera nearly doubled his season RBI total in the process. He entered the day with six and now has 11.

Mike Rivera has been activated from the 15-day DL following his recovery from a sprained left ankle, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Carlos Corporan has been sent down to Triple-A Nashville as the adjoining move.

Our View: Rivera will get starts as Dave Bush's personal catcher, but will not hold much fantasy value as a backup.

Mike Rivera is set to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville Monday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He is recovering from a sprained left ankle.

Our View: He is expected to play three games during his stint, and could be activated from the DL as early as Thursday. Rivera will get playing time while serving as Dave Bush's personal catcher, but his fantasy value will be limited as a reserve.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that Mike Rivera wll begin sprint and baserunning drills on Sunday. He has been on the DL since April 29 with a sprained ankle.

Our View: Rivera doesn't hold much value in fantasy circles, but it will be a nice boost for the Brewers when he comes back. He is Dave Bush's personal catcher, so Bush will be especially happy when Rivera returns.

Updating a previous report, backup catcher Mike Rivera has been placed on the 15-day DL with a sprained ankle, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He suffered the injury in a play at the plate on Tuesday.

Our View: Rivera doesn't see a whole lot of action behind Jason Kendall and has no fantasy value. Casey McGehee will serve as Kendall's backup until Rivera returns.

Catcher Mike Rivera has been initially diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain (least severe) of his left ankle, but he is away from the team on Wednesday in order to meet with doctors, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. Third baseman Casey McGehee will be the top backup to starter Jason Kendall.

Our View: The Brewers probably won't hesitate to place Rivera on the DL if it sounds like he will miss more than a game or three.

Catcher Mike Rivera sprained his left ankle on Tuesday night, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel notes.

Our View: Like us, the paper is waiting for an update. Rivera is a backup without fantasy value.

It appears as if Mike Rivera is going to be used as Dave Bush's personal catcher this season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Rivera is catching Bush for the second consecutive time tonight.

Our View: Rivera is not a fantasy option considering he will only play about every five days or so, but this does have a slight effect on Jason Kendall, who is losing some at-bats. Rivera was 2-for-4 in his only other appearance of the season, but he also struck out twice.

With Damian Miller suffering from many aches and pains, Mike Rivera started all four games of the San Francisco series over the weekend, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The Brewers haven't said how many games Rivera will play in in the final week. Rivera is hitting .281 with five homers and 20 RBI since being recalled in early July.
