David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 3/13, 4:27 PM CT
David Wright went 1-for-3 with a solo homer off Ryan Perry in Saturday's 9-1 win over Detroit in the Grapefruit League.

Our View: Wright is having a strong spring training so far, with three homers and six RBI. He failed to perform up to high expectations in 2009, but looks to be primed to regain his stud status among fantasy third baseman in 2010. Draft Wright with confidence.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 2/9, 5:57 PM CT
Citi Field's center field wall will be eight feet tall in 2010, according to New York Daily News. That's eight feet shorter than its height of 16 feet in 2009.

Our View: Maybe now David Wright will start hitting some home runs again. Seeing as the height-reduction is in center field, however, it shouldn't benefit him, or any other Mets hitter, a great deal.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 10/25, 2:19 PM CT
Via the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post's Bart Hubbuch believes the Mets will cut their payroll "substantially" this offseason.

Our View: This is even after it was revealed last week that not only did Bernie Madoff not bankrupt the Mets, he actually made them money. It looks like the Amazins' arduous 2009 campaign might have just been a pre-cursor to more bad times, and not an aberration.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 10/5, 12:01 PM CT
Mets executive Fred Wilpon promised on Monday that the team's 2010 payroll will not be reduced, according to MetsBlog.com.

Our View: He said the payroll will be "what Omar needs," and that there is no limit. This dampens some conspiracy theorists' claims that Bernie Madoff stole all the Mets money, but does not show that they have grown any more adept at building a complete, winning ball club. All the money they've thrown at their lineup holes the past three seasons have brought exactly zero playoff wins, but instead of focusing on rebuilding their decimated farm system it looks as if they'll keep spending freely, hoping something sticks. Whatever figure they raise their 2010 payroll to, it will still include the $36 million they gave Oliver Perez last offseason.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 10/3, 9:57 AM CT
David Wright is not in the Mets lineup on Saturday, according to Newsday. Fernando Tatis is taking his spot at third.

Our View: It is being labeled as just a routine day off by the team. But with there being just two days left in the season, could it really be a routine day off?
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 9/30, 7:54 PM CT
Despite David Wright not striking out for the first time in six games, Wednesday ended up being another nightmare of a night for the Mets in a nightmarish 2009 season. Given a 4-2 lead entering the ninth inning, closer Francisco Rodriguez allowed five runs, including a walk-off grand slam, as New York lost 7-4 to the Nationals.

Our View: After having his average climb as high as .326 on September 5, Wright is now hitting just .304, and is in danger of finishing with a sub-.300 average for the first time since his rookie season of 2004 (just 69 games played).
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 9/27, 11:48 AM CT
David Wright is not the Mets' lineup on Sunday against the Marlins.

Our View: Fernando Tatis is manning third base in his absence. It is just a day of rest for Wright, who is not hurt.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 9/26, 5:55 PM CT
Updating a previous report, David Wright will play in Saturday's game against the Marlins, according to Metsblog.com.

Our View: Manager Jerry Manuel said that Wright would have the day off today, but must have decided against it. He will hit third and man the hot corner as the Mets appear to be stacking the lineup with righties to go against Marlins lefty Sean West.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 9/26, 3:29 PM CT
David Wright will receive a scheduled day off on Sunday, according to Mets field reporter Kevin Burkhardt.

Our View: Burkhardt also notes that, after last night's four-strikeout performance, Wright has now whiffed 30 times in 23 games since coming off the DL. Sit him tomorrow if you can make the daily change, but plug him right back into your lineup for the final week of the season.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 9/16, 11:52 PM CT
David Wright went 3-for-5 with his 67th RBI on Wednesday night, but the Mets blew it late again, losing 6-5 to the Braves in Atlanta.

Our View: It was Wright's third three-hit game of the month. He is still well on his way to setting career lows (for full seasons) in home runs and RBI, however, as well as a career-high in strikeouts.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 9/13, 10:32 PM CT
David Wright managed to hit a double off of the electric Pedro Martinez on Thursday, but he also whiffed three times in a 1-for-4 effort. The Mets ended up falling 1-0 and could have used some more offense from their franchise player.

Our View: Wright is hitting just .229 since coming off the DL on September 1st and has only managed four extra base hits. However, he has driven in 11 runs this month, so at least the few hits he's mustered were productive.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 9/12, 6:44 PM CT
David Wright had his best game of the season on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI. His second home run, a two-run shot in the ninth, proved to be a game-winner, as New York beat the Phillies 10-9 in Philadelphia.

Our View: It was Wright's first multi-homer game of the season. The two bombs also got him to ten on the season, ensuring him of a double-digit total in the category - something that looked very much in doubt for almost all of 2009.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 9/5, 3:29 PM CT
David Wright went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Saturday in the Mets' 5-3 loss to the Cubs, but also struck out three times, bringing his season total to 113, just three off his career high.

Our View: Wright's current .326 average would also be a career high, however. Take the bad with the good.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 9/3, 5:43 PM CT
David Wright looked good on Thursday as the Mets dealt a blow to the Rockies' playoff chances by winning 8-3. Wright went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBI in the win.

Our View: Wright looked just fine today, and it looks like he isn't suffering any lingering effects from being hit in the head. Wright owners should be very pleased that he decided to return this season, as he should be able to help out any fantasy squad down the stretch.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 9/3, 11:24 AM CT
The Mets do not plan on altering the dimensions of the deep and tall fences at Citi Field for 2010, according to ESPN.

Our View: Strange as it might sound, this could forever alter David Wright's fantasy value. The fence was clearly in his head this season, and the new approach he adopted - spraying doubles to the gaps - also decreased his road home run total, as well. While it is unlikely that Wright will have only eight home runs, as he does now, next September 3, it's much more likely that he won't be anywhere near his September 3, 2008 total of 27. Ryan Zimmerman and Mark Reynolds look like they will be the National League's top fantasy third baseman at the beginning of 2010.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 9/1, 11:14 PM CT
In his return to the lineup on Tuesday, David Wright went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in an 8-3 loss to the Rockies.

Our View: Wright missed the full 15-days of his DL stint after being plunked in the head, but responded well in his first game back. He should be safe to employ in lineups from here on out.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 9/1, 5:05 PM CT
According to Ben Shpigel on Twitter, David Wright is back in the starting lineup for the Mets. He'll hit third and play third against the Rockies Tuesday.

Our View: This is a nice surprise for the Mets and Wright owners alike. There were reports that he could miss the rest of the season with post concussion syndrome, but he made it back from the DL when first eligible. Make sure to get him back in your lineup prior to tonight's game.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 8/29, 11:36 AM CT
David Wright is progressing well in his recovery from post-concussion symptoms, according to the New York Post.

Our View: The elite third baseman will join the Mets for workouts Saturday and Sunday prior to coming off the DL as soon as he is eligible Tuesday at Coors Field. This is good news, but skipper Jerry Manuel still intends to limit Wright's playing time down the stretch, as a precaution.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 8/24, 8:25 AM CT
The New York Daily News is reporting that Mets' third baseman David Wright has started to lightly run and is on schedule to be activated from the DL when eligible. Wright has been sidelined with post-concussion symptoms since being hit in the head with a pitch.

Our View: Wright has said all along that he will return to the lineup when eligible, and we have no reason to think otherwise. He should be close to 100 percent when he comes back, so fantasy owners should make sure to get him back in the lineup.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 8/19, 6:06 PM CT
According to the New York Daily News, Mets' third baseman David Wright plans to see a doctor in the next few days with the hope of being cleared for physical activity. Wright still hopes to be activated when he is eligible to come off the DL.

Our View: Wright has said that he has every intention of returning to the field when he is eligible, and we fully expect him to do so. Wright owners should feel confident that he will be back soon, so check back in the coming weeks.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 8/17, 3:38 PM CT
David Wright says he is "embarrassed" about being placed on the disabled list in the wake of getting hit in the head by a Matt Cain fastball last Saturday, according to the New York Post's Bart Hubbuch.

Our View: Wright says the only post-concussion symptom he had was a slight headache that has since subsided. He also said he fully intends to be activated after the minimum 15-days he is required to stay on the disabled list.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 8/17, 8:01 AM CT
David Wright has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with post concussion symptoms.

Our View: Mets manager Jerry Manuel has warned that Wright could miss the rest of the season, but Wright himself expects to be ready after the allotted 15 days. If he has any lingering symptoms in two weeks, though, expect him to stay on the disabled list. Fernando Tatis will start in his place at third base.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 8/16, 10:17 AM CT
David Wright has been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and has been released from the hospital, according to the Twitter page of Mets' beat wirter David Lennon.

Our View: The Mets have no set a timetable for Wright's return, but with the team out of it you would think they will give him plenty of time. PCS is not something to mess around with, but it could have been worse for Wright so he should consider himself lucky.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 8/16, 9:58 AM CT
David Lennon is reporting on his Twitter page that David Wright is feeling better but has not been released from the hospital. Wright is being evaluated by doctors after being hit in the head Saturday night by Matt Cain.

Our View: The incident last night was scary, but it sounds like Wright will be fine. He is stil bein evaluated by doctors, but expect him to be released soon and hopefully he can return to the feld befre long.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 8/15, 4:27 PM CT
David Wright exited Saturday's game against San Francisco after being struck in the head by a Matt Cain pitch, according to Ben Shpigel's twitter page.

Our View: His helmet was knocked off, and he was assisted off the field. The severity of Wright's injury is yet to be disclosed.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 8/12, 8:20 PM CT
In addition to a "stomach ailment," David Wright is now also dealing with a right knee strain, according to the New York Post.

Our View: Goodness gracious. Who did the Mets anger with powers beyond this world? Wright says the injury is "no big deal," but in Mets terms that almost certainly means "painful" and "sure to linger." Stay tuned.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 8/11, 6:29 PM CT
David Wright, suffering from a "stomach ailment," could also miss the team's game on Wednesday, according to the New York Post's Bart Hubbuch.

Our View: So expect the Mets to announce tomorrow that Wright has suffered a "mild stroke" and will be out "probably" only three or four days, before his return is dragged out for three or four weeks and he is finally declared unable to go for the rest of the season. In all seriousness, though, don't believe that he's back in the Mets lineup until you see it with your own eyes. Stay tuned.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 8/11, 7:59 AM CT
The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that Mets' manager Jerry Manuel plans to sit third baseman David Wright on Tuesday. Wright has played in 111 of the team's 112 games this season, so he is getting a night off tonight.

Our View: Not only has Wright played in every game but one this season, but he has shouldered all of the pressures of performing in New York alone while the rest of the team's stars have been on the DL. If anyone deserves a day off, it's Wright, but expect him to be right back in there tomorrow.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 8/8, 12:29 AM CT
David Wright went 3-for-4 and collected his 55th RBI on Friday night, but watched helplessly in the ninth inning as Francisco Rodriguez systematically gave away the Mets' 2-1 lead. The Amazins would end up losing 6-2 to the Padres.

Our View: Wright's 55 RBI have him on pace to collect well fewer than 100, which would make this the first season since 2004 he did not reach that number.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 8/5, 3:32 PM CT
David Wright went 3-for-4 and blasted his eighth home run of the season in the Mets' 9-0 rout of the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Our View: Wright's two-run shot in the first inning proved to be the game winner as the Cardinals were held in check by a patchwork quilt of Mets' starters. Wright was 5-for-7 in the two-game series with three walks and a pair of runs scored.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 7/31, 10:15 PM CT
David Wright was productive in tonight's 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks at Citi Field, as he went 1-for-2 with a solo homer off Doug Davis. He drew two walks.

Our View: Wright closes out July with a 10-game hitting streak, with two homers over the span.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 7/30, 9:40 PM CT
David Wright went 2-for-4 with a run scored in tonight's 4-2 loss to the Rockies at Citi Field. He hit a single and a double, and also swiped a base.

Our View: Wright raised his team-leading batting average to .325, and extended his hitting streak to nine games.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 7/30, 1:50 PM CT
David Wright hit for the eighth straight game on Thursday, and also knocked in two, as the Mets beat the Rockies 7-0 at Citi Field.

Our View: Wright is still driving in runs at a much slower pace than he had in recent seasons, but appears to finally be getting hot, so an RBI surge might not be far behind.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 7/26, 4:59 PM CT
David Wright drove in two runs in a game for the first time since June 30 on Sunday, as the Mets routed the Astros 8-3 in Houston.

Our View: After homering for the first time since June 30 on Saturday, Wright looks like he might finally be getting on track offensively.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 7/18, 8:15 PM CT
David Wright rolled his ankle during Saturday's battle at Atlanta, but is believed to be fine, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View: As of now, Wright should remain active in fantasy lineups. We will keep you posted if his ankle ailment turns out to be worse.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 7/8, 10:13 PM CT
David Wright went 2-for-4 with two runs and a RBI on Wednesday night, as the Mets beat the Dodgers 5-4, snapping a four game losing streak.

Our View: And he didn't even strike out. Wright's 2009 woes are well-documented, but he is still having an overall good season, and remains an elite option at third base. You might be able to grab him for cheap if his owner is frustrated with his lack of power.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 7/3, 10:50 PM CT
David Wright went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Phillies.

Our View: Wright has been scheduled for a much needed day off, but seems to find a way to keep sneaking back into the lineup. He is now just one for his last 13 at bats.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 7/2, 10:41 AM CT
According to Newsday, David Wright is once again in the starting lineup for the Mets on Thursday.

Our View: Manager Jerry Manuel keeps insisting that he's going to give Wright a day off, but he is the only imposing presence in the Mets' lineup right now and they desperately need wins. Not to mention Wright is a gamer and he fights to get in there every day. Unfortunately he is fatigued and his swing is lengthening, causing him to slump a bit. He'll get a day off soon, it just won't be today. Make sure he's in your lineup.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 7/1, 11:28 AM CT
According to the New York Daily News David Wright will be in Wednesday's starting lineup despite prior reports to the contrary.

Our View: With the team mired in a five-game losing streak and Johan Santana on the mound, Manager Jerry Manuel changed his mind about Wright's off day to try and give the team every possible chance to earn a much needed victory.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 7/1, 8:55 AM CT
The New York Daily News reports that David Wright will be given a day off on Wednesday.

Our View: This is just a move to give Wright some extra rest as the team has noticed his swing "getting longer", which is a sign of fatigue. Fernando Tatis will get the start at third in his place, but Wright should be ready for the next game. Adjust your lineups accordingly.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 6/30, 10:13 PM CT
David Wright was productive in tonight's 6-3 loss at Milwaukee, as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. He hit two singles and a two-run homer.

Our View: Wright raised his team-leading batting average to .345, and ended a 19-game drought without a homer.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 6/22, 8:31 AM CT
Speculation is growing that former Mets manager Bobby Valentine could return to his old job next season, or possibly even later this season, if the team continues to struggle, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Valentine is due to be fired from his job as manager of the Chiba Lotte Marines once the Japaneses team's season ends later this summer. He is 1117-1052 as a major league manager in 15 seasons.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 6/16, 9:28 PM CT
David Wright collected two more hits and another stolen base in the Mets 6-4 win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

Our View: The beat goes on for the Mets all-world third baseman. Despite decreased power numbers this season, Wright is near the top of the National League in average, steals and hits. He is a premier fantasy player.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 6/12, 12:35 PM CT
A man claiming to be a Philadelphia Phillies fan who worked as a foreman during the construction of Citi Field is saying he buried three Phillies jerseys in the stadium according to the Newark Star-Leger.

Our View: So that's why the Mets are so bad in 2009. They might be best served not to dig up the jerseys if they are actually there, however. The Yankees made sure to dig up that David Ortiz jersey and we've all seen how well that worked out.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 6/10, 10:37 PM CT
David Wright was 3-for-5 with a run scored, a walk, and two stolen bases as the Mets fell to the Phillies 5-4 on Wednesday.

Our View: Don't look now, but Wright is second in the National League with 16 stolen bases and he ranks first in OBP with a .454 mark. He has 14 hits and six walks during his current six-game hitting streak.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 6/9, 10:24 PM CT
David Wright went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a double in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Phillies at Citi Field.

Our View: Wright has a five-game hitting streak, with 11 hits and five RBI over the span. He is hitting .458 so far in June.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 6/7, 4:36 PM CT
David Wright went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two walks as the Mets pounded the Nationals 7-0 on Sunday.

Our View: Wright is hitting .345 this season with 34 RBI, but hasn't shown his usual power stroke. He has just three homers on the year, but, despite his lack of pop, is still a valuable fantasy option.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 6/5, 9:42 PM CT
David Wright carried the Mets in Friday's 3-1 win at Washington, as he went 4-for-5 with two RBI. He had two doubles and two singles.

Our View: Wright has six hits and three RBI over his last two games, and the elite third baseman continues to hit well in June after hitting .378 in May.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSaturday 5/30, 9:49 AM CT
The Daily News reports that David Wright is getting the day off on Saturday against the Mets.

Our View: I suppose this is really only good news if you're a Josh Johnson owner, who's throwing against the Mets today. Wright was 0-for-5 in Friday night's 2-1 win.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 5/26, 9:45 PM CT
David Wright was 2-for-5 with an run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Nationals.

Our View: Wright continues his hot hitting in May and is batting an All Star caliber .349 on the season. The power isn't quite there yet, but they'll start flying over the wall soon enough.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 5/24, 6:36 PM CT
David Wright was 1-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 12-5 loss to the Red Sox. The tally gave him 30 on the season.

Our View: Wright is hitting .350 this season and is tearing the cover off the ball in May after struggling in April. His average for the month is .423, and although he only has three homers, he still finds a way to drive runners in. Plus, the homers will come. You'll see.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 5/20, 12:19 AM CT
David Wright was 1-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and two walks in the Mets' 5-3 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Our View: Wright is now hitting .361 on the season and is looking like the first round selection drafters were expecting. He's only gone deep three times, but has driven in 28 and we're sure the power outage won't last long. He's already swiped ten bags as well.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 5/19, 1:11 AM CT
David Wright was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored in Monday's extra-innings loss to the Dodgers. Fernando Tatis and Ramon Martinez combined to go 0-for-10 behind him in the order.

Our View: Wright once again did his part to put the Mets in position for a win, but the offense around him failed to come through. He has 20 hits and 12 RBI over the course of his current 10-game hitting streak.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 5/15, 1:29 AM CT
David Wright had another huge night on Thursday, going 3-for-3 with a run and two RBI. He also managed to swipe four bases in the game.

Our View: Wright is still lacking in the power department, but if he gets three hits and steals bases every night then fantasy owners won't care. That won't happen, but neither will Wright not hitting for power all year.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 5/7, 10:10 PM CT
David Wright was nearly perfect at the plate on Thursday, gong 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs, and two RBI. He now has three home runs on the year.

Our View: Wright hasn't shown much power so far, so the homer tonight is a good sign. His average is up over .300, so the power numbers should come as the season wears on. He is still an elite fantasy player, so treat him as such even though the power hasn't been there yet.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsWednesday 5/6, 9:08 PM CT
David Wright was 0-for-2 with a walk as the Mets beat the Phillies 1-0 on Wednesday. He was caught stealing for the fifth time this season.

Our View: Wright has been incredibly aggressive on the base paths to start the season. Unfortunately, he has not been very effective. He has already been caught as many times in 2009 as he was in 2007 when he stole 34 bags. Wright's green light may be in danger of going yellow.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 5/3, 10:45 AM CT
The game between the Mets and Phillies on Sunday has been rained out, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: No word yet on a make-up date, but these two teams will see quite a bit more of each other throughout the season, so it shouldn't be a problem to get one scheduled.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 5/1, 10:51 PM CT
David Wright was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI as the Mets beat the Phillies on Friday. Wright is now hitting .291 on the season.

Our View: Wright hasn't shown much power so far this season, but it will come. His strikeout total is far too high at 27, but he is still an elite player. Owners need to be patient because it's still early. When he gets hot, he is still one of the best.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 4/27, 9:47 PM CT
David Wright was 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI as the Mets beat the Marlins 7-1 on Monday.

Our View: Wright doesn't figure to hit too many triples, but he should be hitting more home runs. Perhaps the bigger stadium in New York is having some effect on him, but he has just one home run to start the season.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsSunday 4/26, 3:23 PM CT
Third baseman David Wright went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Nationals on Sunday. He is up to 23 whiffs over 18 games this season.

Our View: The stud third baseman clearly isn't seeing the ball too well right now, but we're not worried. He'll turn it around soon.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsMonday 4/13, 9:29 PM CT
David Wright went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and a run scored as the Mets lost their home opener 6-5 to the Padres on Monday.

Our View: Wright did his part but the rest of his teammates made their fair share of errors in the close battle. Expect more of the same from Wright as he remains the best third baseman in the National League.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsFriday 3/27, 10:50 AM CT
David Wright, who had been resting since Team USA's exit from the World Baseball Classic with a cracked toenail from a foul ball, will return to action for the Mets against Washington on Friday, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Our View: Wright's banged up toe was never expected to be an issue by the start of the season, and his inclusion in the Mets' lineup on Friday will confirm that. He remains a sure-fire top-four overall pick with his elite five-tool skill set.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 3/19, 7:49 AM CT
David Wright was banged up in Wednesday's WBC battle with Venezuela, according to the NY Times. He was in significant pain after fouling a ball off his left foot in the first inning, but he was able to stay in the game. He said, "There is a difference between being hurt and being banged up. This is banged up."

Our View: His X-rays taken were negative, and he only suffered a bruised toe and a cracked nail. Team USA plays again Sunday, and Wright stated that he does not expect to miss the game. The elite third baseman looks to be fine.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsTuesday 3/17, 10:48 PM CT
David Wright drove in two runs in the 9th inning giving Team USA a walk-off win in the WBC. He was 3-for-4 on the day and the US advanced to the semi-finals due to his two-run single. He also scored a run and stole a base.

Our View: Wright has been picking it up as of late and is hitting .348 in the tournament. He is still waiting for that power stroke to arrive this spring, but it's only a matter of time as he is a sure-fire first rounder in fantasy baseball drafts.
David Wright, 3B, New York MetsThursday 1/15, 8:06 PM CT
Updating a previous report, MetsBlog.com reports that David Wright was not on the plane that crash landed in the Hudson River on Thursday.

Our View: He will likely start at third base ahead of Chipper Jones. Wright hit .302 last year with 33 home runs and 124 RBIs. Alex Rodriguez elected to play for the Dominican Republic after playing with U.S. team last time. Our View: Wright has a seven-game hitting streak going, so one of these trends will come to a halt. Fantasy owners should keep him in their lineup, but don't be surprised if he has a difficult time of it this evening.

Our View: Wright is hitting a sickly .262, though don't forget that he was hitting .246 on this date last year before going on a tear to hit .325. Given that, he's a lock to bat .340 this year right?

Our View: Just 10 games ago Wright was hitting .359, but since then he has gone 6-for-35 (.171). He will obviously pull out of this soon, but since you can't bench him given his potential to explode at any time, you just have to hope the slump is nearing its end.
