Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 10/2, 3:48 PM CT
Tigers' pitcher Jeremy Bonderman has been suspended for three games by the league for throwing at a Twins' hitter on Thursday, according to ESPN.

Our View: Bonderman doesn't figure to be on the postseason roster since he wasn't on the roster prior to September 1, so he could be done for the year. With three games left in the season, he should just serve the suspension now so he doesn't have to worry about it next season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/29, 10:58 AM CT
The Detroit News reports that Jeremy Bonderman will be given a shot to rejoin the Tigers rotation next season. He has been pitching out of the bullpen since September 1.

Our View: Bonderman cannot be on the postseason roster because he was not a part of the team prior to September 1. The 26-year-old has allowed four runs in six innings of relief this month.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/1, 11:49 AM CT
Thanks to roster expansion, the Detroit Tigers have recalled pitchers Jeremy Bonderman, Casey Fien, Eddie Bonine, catcher Dusty Ryan, infielder Brent Dlugach, and outfielder Wilkin Ramirez, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The pitchers should add some depth to the bullpen, and the position players will do the same for the team's bench. Nothing of fantasy note here, as the team has already said that Bonderman will pitch exclusively out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 8/31, 10:40 AM CT
ESPN.com is confirming that the Tigers will recall pitcher Jeremy Bonderman when rosters expand on Tuesday. Manager Jim Leyland also confirmed that there is "no chance" that Bonderman will be used as a starter this season.

Our View: Bonderman has been throwing hard in the minors, but his results haven't been anything to get excited over. He won't have any fantasy value coming out of the bullpen for the team, especially considering he will struggle to find innings with the expanded rosters.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 8/25, 9:40 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) hit 95 MPH on the radar gun on Monday while throwing two scoreless innings for Triple-A Toledo, according to MLive.com.

Our View: The outing came in relief, allowing Bonderman to pick up a save as well. He is still on track to rejoin the Tigers when rosters expand on September 1, and will likely pitch out of the bullpen.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/5, 8:11 AM CT
According to the Detroit Free Press, Jeremy Bonderman pitched one perfect inning of relief during a rehab appearance on Tuesday.

Our View: Bonderman is scheduled to have two more rehab outings to test his shoulder and then will work out of Triple-A Toledo's bullpen. Barring any setbacks he'll like rejoin the team when rosters expand September 1st and join the Tigers' bullpen.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 8/1, 10:42 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman threw a simulated game on Friday. He will be re-evaluated on Saturday, and if the check-up is positive, he could begin a rehab assignment next week, MLB.com reports. Bonderman is recovering from thoracic outlet surgery.

Our View: The goal is to bring Bonderman back to the majors when the rosters expand on September 1. He will likely work in relief this year and spend the winter trying to stretch back into a starter's role.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 7/27, 1:47 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that injured Tigers' pitcher Jeremy Bonderman may be nearing a return to the team. Bonderman threw a side session on Saturday, and he is scheduled to throw a simulated game next weekend. He is expected to join the bullpen when he is able to rejoin the team.

Our View: Assuming Bonderman doesn't suffer a setback, the Tigers feel he could be back with the team soon. He won't need to be stretched out much during his rehab stint since he is joining the bullpen, so look for a return in August. He won't be much of a fantasy player when he does return, but he could help out the Tigers' bullpen quite a bit.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 7/24, 12:26 PM CT
mLive.com is reporting that the Tigers may use pitcher Jeremy Bonderman out of the bullpen at some point this season. Bonderman has pitched only four innings with the team this year as he attempts to recover from thoracic outlet surgery.

Our View: Bonderman's velocity is said to be up, and the Tigers feel like he could be an option out of the bullpen before the season is out. It remains to be seen how strong his arm will be, but if he only throws one inning at a time he could be a nice addition. His fantasy worth with be nothing, even if he does return to the bullpen.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/22, 9:21 AM CT
According to MLive.com, Jeremy Bonderman threw off a mound briefly on Tuesday.

Our View: Bonderman only threw for about five minutes in his continued attempt to return from thoracic outlet surgery. His velocity is down about five mph, but he insists that his arm feels better and freer. He will attempt to throw again on Thursday and is eying a September return.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 7/7, 7:53 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman has resumed throwing this week, but that does not mean he will be returning to Detroit anytime in the near future, according to MLB.com. He personally gives himself a 50/50 chance to returning this season.

Our View: Bonderman played catch from around 60 feet Tuesday for the second straight day, and felt fine without any issues regarding his ailing shoulder. This is encouraging, but the better challenge will be whether or not he feels the same once he progresses further and starts throwing at full strength off a mound. If he does manage to return to the Tigers this season, it would likely be in a relief role, hence limiting his fantasy value.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 7/6, 9:32 AM CT
MLive.com is reporting that Tigers' pitcher Jeremy Bonderman is scheduled to begin a throwing program on Monday. Bonderman is still trying to come back from his thoracic outlet surgery.

Our View: The throwing program is said to be a shoulder strengthening routine developed by trainer Kevin Rand specifically for Bonderman. When he does return, he will likely join the bullpen, meaning he will have little fantasy value for this season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/1, 11:20 AM CT
According to MLive.com, Jeremy Bonderman is expected to begin a throwing program early next week to try and recover from his thoracic outlet surgery.

Our View: It sounds like Bonderman is still a ways off from rejoining the Tigers and he will like have a glut of rehab starts once he is able to return to a mound.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/13, 7:29 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman is hopeful of returning to the Tigers by September after being placed on the 15-day DL to resume his rehab from thoracic outlet surgery, according to MLive.com. He said, "I need to rehab and strengthen the back posterior of my shoulder and hopefully get stronger. That will probably not be in the next month. But my goal is before September. It will be a long process, and it has been a tough year."

Our View: Bonderman was roughed up in his lone start of 2009, and the Tigers decided to place him on the DL rather than let him work in the bullpen. He is only worth holding in deeper AL-only leagues at this point.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 6/12, 2:28 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that the Tigers have placed pitcher Jeremy Bonderman back on the DL as he continues his rehabilitation from thoracic outlet compression syndrome. The team recalled Ryan Perry to take his place on the roster.

Our View: Bonderman was bad in his 2009 debut, and the team feels like he would be better served to continue his rehab than to pitch out of the bullpen. Expect Bonderman to take the two weeks to get stronger, but don't be shocked if he spends more time on the DL.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 6/10, 5:39 PM CT
The Detroit Free Press reports that Jeremy Bonderman has been moved to the bullpen following a poor outing against the White Sox this past Monday. Dontrelle Willis will make the start on Sunday.

Our View: Bonderman's long-term role is still up in the air, but it appears that his shelling on Monday was enough to move him out of the discussion for now. It will probably take some poor outings by Willis or Armando Galarraga before he sees another start.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/9, 7:30 PM CT
The Tigers are uncertain when Jeremy Bonderman will make another start in the rotation after getting rocked for six earned runs over a mere four innings in his 2009 debut Monday at Chicago, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Bonderman's next scheduled start would be Sunday, but skipper Jim Leyland noted that the starter is yet to be determined.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 6/8, 9:49 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman struggled in his first start of the season, as he allowed six earned runs on eight hits over a mere four innings in Monday's 6-1 loss at Chicago in the second game of their doubleheader. He had three walks and one strikeout, and gave up three homers.

Our View: Bonderman is coming off shoulder surgery, and should not be considered for fantasy lineups for his next start following tonight's rough outing.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 6/8, 6:09 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder surgery) has been activated from the DL, according to MLB.com. The Tigers sent down Ryan Perry to Triple-A Toledo as the adjoining move.

Our View: Bonderman returns to start the second game of tonight's doubleheader at Chicago. Bonderman will be making his first start of 2009, and is worth holding out of fantasy lineups until he proves to be effective.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 6/5, 5:11 PM CT
Recently activated pitcher Jeremy Bonderman has officially been given a start on Monday night. He will pitch in the second game of a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox according to The Detroit News.

Our View: Bonderman hasn't pitched since June of last year, so expectations should be tempered for the time being. But as he builds up his strength and stamina, and starts shedding some of the rust, odds are he will be a decent fantasy option. Keep him on your radar.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 6/4, 11:36 AM CT
According to FoxSports.com, the Tigers are likely to activate pitcher Jeremy Bonderman to start on Monday. Bonderman has been recovering from surgery to repair a blood clot in his axillary vein.

Our View: Bonderman was excellent in his last minor league start, and apparently the Tigers have seen enough from him to get him back in the rotation. AL-only owners may want to take a flier on him, and mixed leaguers would be wise to monitor him over his first few starts.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 5/31, 11:02 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman was spectacular for Triple-A Toledo during his rehab start on Sunday, throwing eight scoreless innings. He allowed six hits and fanned five without allowing a walk.

Our View: This could be the type of performance the Tigers needed to see before giving him a rotation spot. Of course, the Charlotte lineup doesn't have much quality major league talent.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/28, 4:43 PM CT
The Detroit News is reporting that Jeremy Bonderman will make his fourth rehab start on Sunday for Toledo. His arm strength is not where the Tigers want it to be yet, so he will get at least one more start.

Our View: The Tigers don't seem to be in any hurry to bring Bonderman up, but they will have to make a decision on him at some point. He could be worth a flier in AL-only leagues, but right now he may have trouble cracking the Tigers' rotation.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/28, 8:53 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) allowed two earned runs on seven hits and three walks against Norfolk in his third rehab start (with Triple-A Toledo), according to the Detroit News. Skipper Jim Leyland did not offer much regarding Bonderman's next step as he said, "When he is ready, we will think about Jeremy Bonderman."

Our View: His fastball hit 90 mph, which is still below where his velocity used to be. Boderman is confident his velocity will go back up however. He shall remain stashed as a flier for deeper fantasy leagues.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 5/26, 9:21 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) is set to make his third rehab start tonight with Triple-A Toledo, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Manager Jim Leyland previously stated that a decision regarding Bonderman will be made after this start. Leyland did not speculate what he may do with Bonderman though, and may decide he needs to continue building up his arm strength.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/21, 12:00 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) is set to make his second rehab start tonight with Triple-A Toledo, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Bonderman is worth stashing as a flier for deeper leagues as he fared well in his first rehab outing, but the Tigers are yet to decide if he will work in the rotation or bullpen upon his return.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 5/17, 11:03 PM CT
MLive.com reports that Jeremy Bonderman may work out of the bullpen once he finishes his rehab assignment. Bonderman is recovering from a June shoulder surgery that developed circulation complications. He is currently throwing 89 mph. Before the surgery, he was at 92-93 mph. However, his slider is reportedly "nasty."

Our View: Bonderman looked strong in his first rehab start on Saturday, and he may only need another one or two before returning. At this point, Dontrelle Willis is probably the weakest starter in the mix at this point, but it's too early to give up on him.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 5/16, 11:07 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman was impressive in his first rehab start on Saturday as he went seven innings and struck out four while walking one, according to MLB.com. He threw 94 pitches, 64 of them for strikes.

Our View: Bonderman looks close to returning to the Tigers' rotation. He was strong today, and he showed good control. He may need one more rehab start, but should be back in the rotation in the next few weeks.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 5/13, 12:48 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) is ready to begin his minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Single-A West Michigan, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Bonderman fared fine in his bullpen session today, and the Tigers have been pleased with his progress. Barring a setback, Bonderman could return to Detroit at some point in early June. He shall remain stashed in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues as a flier.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 5/8, 10:48 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) is almost ready to start a minor league rehab assignment, according to MLive.com. Tigers' president Dave Dombrowski said, "He is stretched out to 70 pitches and throwing well. He will pitch again (in an extended spring training game) Monday, and we will go from there."

Our View: Skipper Jim Leyland noted that he has been pleased with Bonderman's progress, and likes the idea of having six starters if things go well. Bonderman is worth stashing in deeper AL-only leagues.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/22, 10:54 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman pitched a simulated game Tuesday and was not pleased with his performance, according to the Detroit News. Manager Jim Leyland said, "Bonderman was not very happy with himself. He felt great, but was not satisfied with the way the ball was coming out of his hand."

Our View: Bonderman could return to Detroit in mid-May, and is still worth stashing in deeper AL-only leagues. The Tigers have been playing fairly well, and are currently in a three-way tie for the AL Central lead at 7-6.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/8, 10:38 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman, who is rehabbing from thoracic outlet compression syndrome surgery, is expected to throw Monday in Lakeland at the spring training complex, according to MLive.com. Team trainer Kevin Rand said, "As we ramp up his throwing, we are being very cognizant of Jeremy having good flexibility in the shoulder. That is why we used this week to have him work on stretching and full range of motion. He should be ready to start throwing again Monday in Lakeland. He will play catch, stretch out the next day, and then get back on the mound."

Our View: Bonderman could return to the Tigers' rotation if healthy, but is only worth a look for deeper AL-only leagues. He won't return until at least late April.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 3/31, 10:43 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman has been placed on the 15-day DL by the Tigers, according to the Sports Network. The move is retroactive to March 30.

Our View: He is still rehabbing from thoracic outlet compression syndrome surgery. If Bonderman returns healthy, he could pitch in the Tigers' rotation, but should be left for deeper AL-only leagues.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 3/30, 7:35 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Jeremy Bonderman is likely to start the season on the DL. He has been trying all spring to work out the tightness in his right shoulder.

Our View: In his last outing, he needed more than 50 pitches to get four outs, while also giving up back-to-back home runs. A previous MRI revealed no structural damage, and Bonderman believes if he just keeps throwing, he will eventually relieve the tightness and regain his velocity. We are not willing to bet on it happening any time soon.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/27, 7:26 PM CT
According to MLB.com, Jeremy Bonderman is scheduled to start Sunday against the Braves. He is recovering from shoulder surgery.

Our View: The Tigers would love it if Bonderman came back strong, but he is still too risky for fantasy owners to gamble on.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/20, 9:06 AM CT
Skipper Jim Leyland commented on Jeremy Bonderman after he threw two scoreless innings against the Braves Thursday, according to the Detroit News. Bonderman is trying to bounce back from shoulder surgery, and Leyland said, "It is a start. I will be more pleased tomorrow if everything is fine. But it is a start. As we speak right now, it is positive. We will see how it plays out."

Our View: Bonderman is capable of solid production if healthy, but he remains a risky fantasy prospect, and should only be considered as a late-round flier.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 3/19, 9:44 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman made his first appearance in a game on Thursday as the Tigers fell to the Braves 5-2. He threw two innings of shutout baseball while allowing two hits and two walks.

Our View: Assuming there are no setbacks, Bonderman stands a good chance to be part of the Tigers maligned rotation. The 26-year-old had shoulder surgery after just 12 starts last season. If he can return to his 2006 form, when he tallied 202 strikeouts, he would be a very valuable fantasy commodity. However, that seems a bit optimistic.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 3/14, 11:46 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman, who has been dealing with problems with his right shoulder, threw 30 pitches in a simulated game this morning, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: Skipper Jim Leyland indicated that if Bonderman threw OK and felt fine today, he would be slated for his first exhibition-game start on Thursday. If Bonderman does not suffer any more setbacks, he could be ready for the start of the season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 3/10, 10:21 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman, who has not pitched in a game since last May following thoracic surgery, is slated to pitch in an intrasquad game on Saturday, according to the Detroit News. Bonderman felt great after a bullpen session last Sunday.

Our View: This is encouraging news, but Bonderman remains a question mark to hold a spot in the middle of the Tigers' rotation.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 3/8, 9:46 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman reported no pain after his second session of playing catch since his shoulder was examined, according to the Detroit News. He said, "Everything went well. I threw at 60 feet last time, at 90 feet this time. No pain at all."

Our View: He will next throw in the bullpen either today or Monday. He could be scheduled for his first spring start if he fares well during a pen session or two. This is encouraging news, but Bonderman remains a question mark to hold a spot in the middle of the Tigers' rotation.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/6, 11:26 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman indicated that his ailing shoulder has responded well to light catch, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: He hopes to resume throwing soon, but it remains uncertain as to when he will start a game. Bonderman is a question mark to hold a spot in the middle of the Tigers' rotation as of now.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 3/3, 11:55 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman could miss the start of the regular season with his injured right (throwing) shoulder, reports the Detroit News.

Our View: Bonderman had surgery on the shoulder to correct a condition that caused a blood clot in his arm last season, and has been trying to get healthy since. Consider him undraftable until he can show some relative health.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 3/2, 6:04 PM CT
The AP reports that Tigers manager Jim Leyland says pitcher Jeremy Bonderman is fine, but won't likely be back to his normal throwing program for two weeks. He had been sent back to Detroit to have the stiffness in his shoulder examined.

Our View: Bonderman only threw 71.1 innings a season ago due to a circulatory problem that required surgery. He is not likely a long shot to win the fifth starter's job among a talented group.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 3/2, 12:13 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman left Florida Monday morning and headed back to Detroit to have his aching right shoulder examined by team doctors, according to MLive.com. He is expected to begin throwing again later in the week, but the timetable for his next start remains unknown.

Our View: Bonderman hasn't been a great fantasy performer for a couple of seasons now, and the nagging shoulder injury is no reason to think otherwise.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 2/26, 12:13 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman has been scratched from his scheduled start for Saturday due to stiffness in his throwing shoulder, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Skipper Jim Leyland did not speculate when Bonderman may appear in a spring game. He remains a risky fantasy prospect due to his health.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 2/14, 1:41 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman, who missed the final four months of last season with a circulation problem, threw off a mound for the fourth time yesterday since arriving at camp, according to the Detroit Free Press. He said, "I feel like I am letting it go. I am not airing it out, but I feel good. I am fine. I am ready to go. I have been trying to make sure I am ready to go when camp starts, and I am."

Our View: If healthy, Bonderman should hold a spot in the Tigers' rotation. He will be a risky fantasy prospect, but is worth drafting as a late-round flier based on his once-high potential.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 2/1, 8:22 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman will take to the mound for the first time in eight months on Monday, according to MLive.com. He has been working out hard this season since undergoing multiple surgeries to take care of a circulatory problem.

Our View: Keep an eye on Bonderman this spring, as he should be able to pitch his way back into the Tigers rotation. He will have plenty of competition though.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 9/26, 8:49 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman, whose season ended early due to thoracic outlet syndrome, plans to be be ready for the start of the 2009 campaign, according to MLB.com. Bonderman hopes to start playing in the next month or two and start throwing with more authority as the range of motion in his pitching shoulder loosens up. Bonderman believes he's getting close to that, and he's optimistic enough that he plans on heading to the team's Spring Training facility in Lakeland, Florida, right after Christmas. He said, "I think I'll be all right. From the last time I was in Texas with the Tigers in August to now, I've improved tremendously. I'm just a little bit away."

Our View: Bonderman should pitch better in 2009, but is still yet to win more than 14 games in a season, or hold an ERA below 4.08.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/20, 10:19 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman, who is out for the year due to thoracic outlet syndrome, believes he will be back at 100 percent strength for training camp next season, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: Hopefully he will have better luck in 2009, as he went 3-4 over 12 starts this season, with a poor 1.56 WHIP.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 6/30, 8:26 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman underwent surgery Monday to correct a condition that caused a blood clot in his pitching arm, this according to the Detroit Free Press. Bonderman was 3-4 with a 4.29 ERA in 12 starts before being placed on the disabled list on June 7th.

Our View: The team has not put a timetable on Bonderman’s return to the mound, but his season is officially over though the team hopes he will be able to pitch at the start of the 2009 season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/17, 10:52 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman will undergo potentially season-ending surgery on June 30 to repair thoracic outlet syndrome, according to MLB.com. The Tigers will wait until after the surgery to give a timetable for a potential return for the righty.

Our View: It's pretty safe to go ahead and cut Jeremy loose. It's not as if he was providing much fantasy value while he was healthy, anyway.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 6/11, 7:10 PM CT
The Tigers report RHP Jeremy Bonderman will be examined by a specialist next week to determine the cause of a blood clot that kept him off the mound last weekend, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Bonderman will be examined on Tuesday in Dallas. The clot is believed to have been caused by a rib, and if doctors determine that to be true, Bonderman may require surgery to have the rib removed, resulting in an end to his season. We will update as news becomes available.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/7, 12:47 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman could miss the remainder of the season after undergoing medical procedures pertaining to a blood clot, according to the AP. Bonderman was examined Friday at the Detroit Medical Center, and it was revealed he has a blood clot of the axillary vein due to thoracic outlet compression syndrome. He has been placed on the 15-day DL, and will undergo further exams later.

Our View: The Tigers can now keep Dontrelle Willis and Armando Galarrago in the rotation. Bonderman was only 3-4 over 12 starts, with a 4.29 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 6/6, 10:46 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman went to see a doctor Friday after reporting some discomfort around his right shoulder, according to CBSsports.com. Two club sources told CBS that he would be checked for a possible circulation problem in the shoulder. The Tigers have yet to comment directly on the Bonderman, but the righty isn't expected to make his scheduled start Sunday and will likely be placed on the DL.

Our View: The Tigers were trying to figure out how to keep both Dontrelle Willis and Armando Galarraga in the rotation, but now it looks like they won't have to worry about it. We'll let you know the results of Bonderman's exam when we get them.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/1, 8:08 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman allowed a career-high 12 hits but only three earned runs in seven innings of work. The right-hander was not involved in the decision on Sunday as the Tigers scratched out four runs in the ninth inning to win their 24th game of the season.

Our View: Bonderman managed to strand nine baserunners from the second through the seventh. He still has only one win in his last six starts.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 5/28, 12:04 AM CT
In need of a win, Detroit RHP Jeremy Bonderman failed not from the mound but from bad luck, failing to garner the offensive support needed to retain a 2-0 lead as the Tigers fell in late innings, 3-2, to the Angels. Bonderman pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing just two runs (both earned) on six hits, walking one and striking out seven.

Our View: Essentially, Bonderman couldn't solve Garret Anderson and the rest was history. Bonderman stays at 3-4 of the season despite his best performance of the season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/22, 3:28 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman claimed his third win of the season on Thursday, as Detroit prevailed 9-2 over Seattle. Bonderman allowed two runs on eight hits over six innings, with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: He was averaging four earned runs allowed over his previous three starts, and this was a very good outing for him. Hopefully he can remain consistent in his next start.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 5/5, 10:30 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings of work on Monday night, walking two and striking out four.

Our View: Bonderman lost is third-game of the season, but showed much better command in the loss than he did in most of his April starts.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 5/5, 11:07 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman has been suffering with control problems so far this season and will look to get on track tonight when the Tigers host the Red Sox, according to MLB.com. Bonderman has allowed 23 walks over 35 innings, with a dismal 1.60 WHIP.

Our View: He is 4-4 lifetime against Boston, while going 3-1 at home. While he has a good track record at home against Boston, he is best left on your bench until he fixes his control issues, especially with another match-up against the Yankees this week.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/30, 10:28 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman evened his record at 2-2 by defeating the Yankees on Wednesday night. Bonderman only struck out one batter on the night, but he held the Yanks to only five hits and two runs over 7.2 innings.

Our View: Bonderman showed some progress tonight in cutting down his walks, but he still isn't locating his pitches as the single K attests to. Still, he held a pretty potent lineup in check which is encouraging.

Jeremy Bonderman had some control issues in today's no decision against Texas. He allowed two runs on only two hits over 4.2 innings of work, but registered seven walks (and seven strikeouts).

Our View: Bonderman has now served up 21 walks over 29.1 innings pitched. He already had a dismal 1.76 WHIP prior to today's outing as well. Keep him on your bench until he finds his control on the mound.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 4/24, 8:17 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman will be looking to bounce back when the Tigers host the Rangers today, according to MLB.com. In his last outing (against Toronto), Bonderman walked six batters and needed 108 pitches to get through five innings of work. On the positive side, he holds a 3.86 ERA over his last three starts.

Our View: Bonderman is capable of dominating on any given day, but he remains one of the most erratic high profile pitchers in the fantasy world. He is 1-2 with a team-killing 1.76 WHIP, and he is worth benching if you are deep at the position.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 4/19, 3:28 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman struggled with control once again today, picking up his second loss of the season, 2-3, to the Toronto Blue Jays. Bonderman lasted just five innings, throwing a whopping 108 pitches (60 for strikes) and allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits.

Our View: More than anything, Bonderman's six walks allowed (versus just two strike outs) is the major worry.

Jeremy Bonderman surrendered four runs on eight hits (two home runs) over 6.1 innings of work in a 4-1 loss to Kansas City on Thursday, with two walks and one strikeout. This appeared to be a good week for Detroit pitchers as they were facing Kansas City, but that gravely was not the case as the Tigers were swept in the three-game series.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 3/23, 8:11 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman pitched seven innings against Detroit's Double-A squad Sunday morning. The right-hander allowed five hits and no runs while throwing 71 pitches. Bonderman continues to lower his spring ERA and is building his pitch count for the opening series against the Kansas City, a good matchup in Week 1 for all of the Detroit fantasy options.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 3/18, 6:38 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman is trusting his changeup more and insists that he finally will add it to his pitching repertoire this season, according to the AP. "I'm getting to where I am comfortable with it," Bonderman said. "In previous springs, I was trying to find a grip. Now, I have a changeup and I believe in it." Bonderman lowered his spring ERA to 5.09 after allowing two runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out three over 4 2/3 innings of work Tuesday. If he can really get a hold his changeup, maybe we'll finally see Bonderman become an elite option this season -- or at least improve upon last year's disappointing campaign.

Jeremy Bonderman had control issues on Thursday as he allowed three runs on six hits over four innings. Bonderman has a 5.54 ERA for the spring.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 3/4, 10:16 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman is using a new changeup grip this year, and he thinks it will really help him improve upon a pitch that's been very inconsistent for him in the past. "This year is different for me," he said in the Detroit Free Press. "I feel comfortable throwing it." Manager Jim Leyland thinks a better changeup is the only thing that's keeping Bonderman from becoming a star. "He'll go from really good to outstanding if he masters that," Leyland said. Bonderman is trying to rebound from a subpar 2007 campaign. It remains to be seen if he'll ever take that step to the next level.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 3/3, 7:33 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman tossed three scoreless innings in his second start of the spring, but the Tigers fell to the Rays 10-9 on Monday afternoon. The Tigers right-hander allowed two hits and struck out a pair. Bonderman was overvalued in most fantasy drafts a year ago and disappointed overall. His 11-9 record and 5.01 ERA didn't equate to a top-10 pitching option, which is where he was drafted in most formats.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 3/3, 1:30 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman worked three scoreless innings against the Rays regulars on Monday. He allowed two hits, walked none, and struck out two. We're not sure if the Tigers allowed Bonderman to use his slider this time out, as they are still being cautious about his elbow. Either way, this line is promising.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 2/27, 7:09 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman allowed four hits, a walk and two runs on Wednesday, but he was limited to just fastballs and changeups in the 59 degree weather, according to a report on the AP. The team wants to make sure that his arm is healthy after he collapsed in the second half last season when he went 2-8 with a 7.38 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in his last 68.1 innings, so don't be surprised if he his babied a bit in the early going.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 2/24, 4:56 PM CT
Jeremy Bonderman will get the ball Wednesday in the Tigers' first spring training game, according to the AP. The right-hander is trying to bounce back from a sub-par 2007 season. He could end up providing good fantasy value for where he will be taken.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersFriday 2/15, 8:48 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman is feeling healthy now after dealing with a strained elbow at the end of last season. "I feel good," Bonderman told the Detroit News. "I've thrown off the mound three times this week. I've let it go. And I feel good. I'm just going to get ready (for the regular season) and not rush things. I'll be ready when we break camp." The right-hander has a new changeup that he hopes is more effective than his previous version of the pitch. "It's like a four-seam change-up," he said. "I get the feeling of the ball coming off my hands. Maybe that's all I needed." Bonderman will be trying to bounce back from a disappointing 2007 season that saw his ERA shoot up over 5.00. He'll be slotted into the No.2 spot in the rotation behind Justin Verlander.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 9/24, 8:08 AM CT
On Saturday, Jeremy Bonderman tossed what manager Jim Leyland called an excellent bullpen session. However, the pitcher reported soreness in his elbow Sunday, so the Tigers have thrown in the towel on his season, according to the Detroit Free Press. "It doesn't make sense to pitch him," Leyland said. "But don't put any red flag up, because there is none. He's fine." Testing revealed no structural damage, so it appears the Tigers are just playing it safely now, so he'll be set for next season.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 9/22, 12:28 AM CT
If Jeremy Bonderman's elbow responds well to his side session on Saturday, he could start for the Tigers on Tuesday, according to the AP. "We'll see how it feels," he said. "We're still just taking it day by day." If Bonderman doesn't start, Yorman Bazardo is expected to get the nod.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/18, 10:41 AM CT
Jeremy Bonderman felt no pain in his right elbow after playing catch before Monday's game, and he was encouraged enough to think that he may be able to make a start before the end of the season, according to the Detroit News. "I didn't throw off the mound, I just played catch," he said, "but the pain was gone. I have to throw a few more times before anything gets decided, but I was definitely encouraged." Even with this news, there's no reason for Bonderman to be owned right now outside of keeper leagues.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersMonday 9/10, 11:31 PM CT
An MRI exam of Tigers righthander Jeremy Bonderman 's sore right elbow showed pinched cartilage, which will not require surgery, according to the Associated Press. Bonderman is not expected to pitch again in 2007.

Our View: Despite the good news regarding surgery, Bonderman has logged a lot of innings at a young age, so he’ll head into 2008 as an injury concern for the Tigers and fantasy owners alike.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersSunday 9/9, 6:45 PM CT
We may have seen the last of Jeremy Bonderman this season. Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Sunday that Bonderman probably will be shut down due to a nagging elbow injury, according to the AP. A final decision should come after he's examined further on Monday, but it sounds like the Tigers will be cautious and end his season now.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersThursday 9/6, 10:23 AM CT
There have been rumors that Jeremy Bonderman is going through elbow problems, but manager Jim Leyland insists that it's not a big deal. "His elbow is barking a little bit - it's nothing significant," Leyland said in the Detroit Free Press. "This is stuff that a lot of pitchers go through." Bonderman expects to make his next scheduled start on Sunday.
Jeremy Bonderman, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/26, 9:18 AM CT

Bonderman had also won eight decisions in a row after staring the season with five consecutive no-decisions.

He developed two blisters in spring training, but said the latest injury to the tip of his middle finger is more of a cut than a blister. When camp starts, I'm sure I'll talk with (pitching coach Chuck Hernandez) and come up with a plan." Bonderman throws a change-up on occasion, but he doesn't have much confidence in the pitch and often goes entire games without throwing it.

Bonderman is on pace for 223 innings, 34 more than his previous career high, and he's posted a 4.97 ERA in his last four starts. The Tigers don't have another off day until August 28, but the upcoming return of Mike Maroth could help space out the starters, or the Tigers could give Wil Ledezma another spot start.
