Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 3/18, 5:50 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers gave up two earned runs on three hits over two innings in today's Cactus League game versus Cincinnati. He had no walks or strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers has been dealing with left shoulder inflammation, which is likely why he only worked two innings. He is expected to begin the regular season on the disabled list.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 3/15, 7:07 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers will begin the regular season on the disabled list, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: Sowers is being hindered by left shoulder inflammation, which crushed his bid for a rotation spot. He does not currently merit fantasy attention.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 3/6, 8:31 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers is no longer in the race to win a rotation spot in Cleveland, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Sowers was taken out of the running due to left shoulder inflammation. That improves David Huff and Aaron Laffey's odds of claiming the No. 5 starting spot.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 2/23, 4:34 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers fired 25 pitches off a mound Tuesday, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: Sowers was pain-free, but will still have a lot of catching up to do in his bid to win a rotation spot with Cleveland. He has been slowed by shoulder inflammation.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 10/2, 10:03 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was tagged for four earned runs on four hits over a mere three innings in Friday's 6-2 loss at Boston. He had two walks and one strikeout.

Our View: Sowers gave up four or more earned runs in each of his last three starts, and fell to 6-11 for the season.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 9/26, 10:39 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers struggled on Saturday but his team came out ahead. He lasted just five innings after allowing five runs on six hits and four walks, but the Indians emerged with a 9-8 win over the Orioles.

Our View: Sowers has been beaten up lately, allowing 11 runs in his last six innings. He's also surrendered 15 hits and five walks over that stretch.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 9/19, 7:17 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers recorded exactly three outs in his start on Saturday. In the time it took him to do that the A's jumped on him for six runs, nine hits and a walk. He got a well deserved loss as the Tribe fell 8-4.

Our View: Sowers falls to 6-10 after Saturday's miserable outing. It was easily his worst start of the season and oddly came on the heels of a brilliant seven-shutout-inning performance against the Twins. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 9/14, 11:34 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers only surrendered six hits over seven scoreless innings in Monday's 6-3 loss at Minnesota. He had two walks with two strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers pitched very well tonight, and it is a shame he was forced to settle for a no-decision. He is hot, as he allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last three starts.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 9/4, 9:05 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers only allowed two earned runs on six hits over six innings in Friday's 5-2 win over the Twins at Progressive Field. He had no walks with one strikeout.

Our View: Sowers improved his record to 6-9, and issued two earned runs in each of his last two starts. He has not taken a loss over his last three starts as well.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 8/29, 11:40 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers came within one out of qualifying for his sixth win on the season on Saturday, but couldn't make it, taking a no-decision in Cleveland's 5-3 win over the Orioles.

Our View: Sowers is now 2-2 with a 4.42 ERA in the month of August.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 8/24, 10:30 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was rocked for five earned runs on six hits over seven innings in Monday's 10-6 win at Kansas City. He had two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers had a tough outing on the hill, but was handed his fifth win of 2009 as the Indians had a strong night offensively. He snapped a two-game losing streak, but his ERA climbs to 4.93.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 8/19, 9:19 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers gave up three earned runs on four hits over 6.2 innings in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Angels at Progressive Field. He issued five walks with two strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers falls to 4-9, and tied his season-worst with five free passes tonight. He is just an option for deeper AL-only leagues.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 8/13, 2:55 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers fell to 4-8 on Thursday as the Indians lost to the Rangers by a score of 4-1. Sowers went 5.1 innings and allowed four runs on eight hits while walking one and not striking out a batter.

Our View: Sowers had been pitching pretty well, but he wasn't all that sharp today. He doesn't strike guys out, so unless he really shuts the other team down, he is not a good fantasy pitcher. Deeper AL-only leagues could maybe employ him, but everyone else should stay away.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 8/7, 10:02 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers only allowed two earned runs on six hits over seven innings in Friday's 6-2 win at Chicago. He had two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers has allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last three starts, and has two wins over the span. He is worth employing in AL-only leagues for his next trip to the hill.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 8/1, 10:10 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers only surrendered two earned runs on four hits over six innings in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Tigers at Progressive Field. He issued four walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers had a solid outing despite the four free passes, but had to settle for a no-decision due to a lack of run support from his teammates. He fired seven scoreless innings in his previous start at Seattle, and merits fantasy consideration in AL-only leagues for his next trip to the mound.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/25, 7:56 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers shutout the Mariners for seven innings on Saturday. He allowed just four hits and two walks and earned his third win of the season in the Indians' 10-3 victory.

Our View: Fresh from the minors, Sowers tossed a gem Saturday. Chances are he won't have many starts like this, but he's still an upgrade over Tomo Ohka.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/25, 11:58 AM CT
The Sports Network is reporting that the Cleveland Indians have recalled pitcher Jeremy Sowers from Triple-A to start on Saturday. Sowers will take the empty roster spot vacated by the trade of Rafael Betancourt.

Our View: Sowers is taking over for Tomo Ohka in the rotation, and he doesn't figure to be much better. Sowers has a 5.77 ERA in ten starts this season, and he should not be viewed as a serious fantasy candidate unless he puts together a few solid starts in a row.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/22, 6:26 PM CT
Manager Eric Wedge indicated that Jeremy Sowers will be recalled from Triple-A to start Saturday's game against Seattle, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Sowers will replace the struggling Tomo Ohka in the rotation. Sowers will get another chance to prove his worth to the Indians, but should only be considered for AL-only leagues, as he holds a 5.77 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 11 games (10 starts).
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 7/9, 8:22 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus by the Indians, according to the Twitter page of The Sports Network's Chris Ruddick. This is a corresponding move to the activation of Rafael Betancourt. Sowers is 2-7 on the season with the team.

Our View: Sowers just hasn't been able to put it together with the Tribe so far this year, and he is probably a better fit for the Triple-A squad. He has an ERA of 5.77 this season, and he held no fantasy value prior to his demotion.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 7/7, 10:22 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was tagged for four earned runs on five hits over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 10-6 loss at division rival Chicago. He had two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers falls to 2-7, and his ERA rises to 5.77. He has given up four or more earned runs in three of his last four starts, and should remain an unstable fantasy option with Cleveland.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/1, 9:19 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was rocked for five earned runs on 11 hits over six innings in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the division rival White Sox at Progressive Field. He had one walk and two strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers only has one win over his last seven starts, and allowed two or less earned runs four times over the span. His fantasy stock would likely be higher if he played for a better team than the Indians (31-49).
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 6/26, 9:16 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers allowed two earned runs on six hits over seven innings in Friday's 9-2 win over the Reds at Progressive Field. He had one walk and fired six strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers snapped a five-game skid without a win, and bounced back well from his last outing when he was lit up for six runs against the Cubs. He is worth a look for deeper AL-only leagues for his next start.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 6/21, 4:59 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was tagged for six earned runs on seven hits over a mere 4.1 innings in Sunday's 6-2 loss at the Cubs. He issued four walks with one strikeout.

Our View: Sowers has gone five straight starts without a win, and has a 4.97 ERA in June. He should only be considered for deeper AL-only leagues for his next outing.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 6/16, 9:41 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers allowed three earned runs on five hits over five innings in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Brewers at Progressive Field. He had two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: He has gone four straight starts without a win, with two losses over the span. He allowed two or less earned runs in four of his last five starts, but his fantasy stock is hindered while pitching for the struggling Indians.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 6/11, 9:51 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers pitched well in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Royals at Progressive Field, as he only allowed two runs on six hits over five innings. He had one walk and two strikeouts.

Our View: The Royals led the game 2-1 when Sowers exited, so he was dealt a no-decision rather than a win. He has allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last four starts, but only has one win over the span. His fantasy value would likely be higher if he played with a better club.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 6/6, 6:22 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was hit with the loss on Saturday as the Indians fell to the White Sox by a score of 4-2. Sowers went six innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits while walking two and striking out five. He is now 1-2 on the year.

Our View: Sowers pitched pretty well today, but his offense was unable to bail him out. Both of his starts this week were solid, so AL-only and deeper mixed league managers should take notice, as he could be a nice pickup to plug into your rotation.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 6/1, 9:49 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers only allowed one earned run on three hits over five innings in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees at Progressive Field. He issued five walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Other than the five free passes, it was a strong outing for Sowers. He replaced Zach Johnson in the rotation, and Sowers is worth targeting if still dangling on the waiver wire in deeper leagues.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/25, 9:23 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers threw the final five innings in Monday's 11-10 come from behind win over the Rays. He did not allow a run while giving up three hits and a walk.

Our View: After two short outings as a starter, Sowers was moved back to the bullpen. He was excellent tonight against a formidable opponent and there's a good chance that he rejoins the rotation in the near future. The Indians do not have many other options as both Anthony Reyes and Aaron Laffey both went down with serious injuries last week.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 5/23, 11:33 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers has been recalled by the Indians from Triple-A Columbus, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Aaron Laffey (oblique) was placed on the 15-day DL as the adjoining move.

Our View: Anthony Reyes also landed on the DL, and Sowers looks to be in line for spot starts until Reyes returns. Sowers allowed 14 hits, six walks and 12 earned runs over two starts (nine innings) with Cleveland this season however, and is only worth targeting in deeper leagues.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/14, 9:42 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus by the Indians, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The team signed reliever Luis Vizcaino as the corresponding move.

Our View: Sowers allowed 12 earned runs and six walks over two starts (nine innings) this season, and was not useful for fantasy leagues prior to his demotion.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 5/12, 9:40 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers was awful in his first start of the season and wasn't much better in his second on Tuesday. He allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks over just four innings and took the loss as the Indians fell to the White Sox 7-4.

Our View: Sowers has been miserable so far this season. He won't gain any fantasy attention if his struggles continue and he may lose his job as Aaron Laffey could come out of the bullpen and replace him.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/7, 9:09 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers' first start of the season was a forgettable one as he allowed seven runs in five innings of work. He gave up seven hits and three walks as the Red Sox prevailed 13-3 on Thursday.

Our View: Sowers had gotten off to a good start in Triple-A, but it did not translate against the Red Sox. His spot in the rotation is anything but guaranteed, but he figures to get another chance. Aaron Laffey is in the bullpen and could be called upon to replace Sowers if he continues to struggle.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 5/6, 6:34 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers has been recalled to start for the Indians on Thursday as the team has decided to move Aaron Laffey to the bullpen, according to The Plain Dealer.

Our View: The Indians bullpen has been a mess, they lead the AL in blown saves and home runs allowed, so they made a series of moves to address this situation on Wednesday (demoting Rafael Perez and recalling Matt Herges). Laffey will move to the pen because he can warm up quickly. As for Sowers he was 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA at Triple-A this year, but he lacks an "out pitch" and is nothing more than AL-only material.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 4/28, 11:24 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers lowered his ERA to 2.25 after allowing one run on five hits in seven innings for Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Our View: The southpaw doesn't have much more to prove at Triple-A, but it still remains to be seen if he has the stuff to be a major league pitcher. With the way that Fausto Carmona, Anthony Reyes and Carl Pavano have pitched thus far, Sowers will likely find himself in the Indians' rotation again very soon.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 3/24, 12:02 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus by the Indians, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: Sowers was unable to nail down the fifth spot in the Indians' rotation. The spot looks to go to Aaron Laffey.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 3/17, 10:08 AM CT
Manager Eric Wedge commented on Jeremy Sowers after allowing only one earned run over four innings in Monday's loss to Seattle, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Wedge said, "Jeremy was good again. He has had a couple outings back to back where he has been more aggressive with his fastball and had a lot on it. He commanded it well. He continues to be more consistent with his change up. All good things."

Our View: Sowers remains in the mix for the fifth spot in the Indians' rotation. He should be left for AL-only leagues if he does win the spot, as he held a 1.49 WHIP over 121 innings in 2008, with only 64 strikeouts.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 3/16, 9:08 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers allowed three hits, a walk, and one earned run over four innings as the Indians fell to Cleveland 4-1 on Monday. He recorded two strikeouts in his second start of the spring.

Our View: The 26-year-old is battling for a spot in the Indians rotation this spring. He was hit pretty hard in 22 starts a season ago and he boasts little fantasy upside.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 3/16, 11:06 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers will be making his fifth appearance and second start in the Cactus League today against Seattle, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: He needs a solid outing while competing for a spot in the Indians' rotation, as he has allowed three earned runs on 11 hits over eight innings so far, with four walks and only three strikeouts.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 2/25, 8:51 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers is set to start today's preseason opener against the Giants, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Manager Eric Wedge said, "He has had his ups and downs early in camp. He is still a young player and he is still working to find what he needs to do to be successful. It still goes back to commanding his fastball and throwing it where he wants to throw it. I would still like to see him get a little better feel for his change up to work off the fastball. It is in there, we just have to keep trying to help him bring it out on a more consistent basis."

Our View: Sowers is expected to earn a spot near the back of the Indians' rotation, but is not going to be a good source for strikeouts, and his ERA and WHIP are both likely to be too high to be useful in fantasy leagues.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 9/20, 9:56 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers only allowed one earned run on five hits over six innings in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Tigers, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers looks to finish the season strong as two of his four wins have been earned in September, and he has only lost once in the month.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 9/14, 4:31 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers lasted only three innings on Sunday as he was hit hard by the Royals to the tune of five hits and three runs in a no-decision.

Our View: Sowers escaped with a no-decision, but he continues to be the AL version of Bary Zito, that is a solid pitcher when he is "on" but scary to the ratios when things are less than 100%.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 9/9, 9:13 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers produced his best line of the season on Tuesday night. He held the Orioles to four hits and one run over eight innings. The southpaw mixed in one walk and seven strikeouts as he improved to 3-8.

Our View: The 25-year-old southpaw has had a rough season, but the Indians keep trotting him out there and hoping the Sowers of 2006 can emerge. Fantasy owners shouldn't trust him at this point. Maybe he can string something together late and try to build confidence for 2009.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 9/3, 2:41 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers surrendered four earned runs on six hits over 5.1 innings in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox, with one walk and five strikeouts. He gave up two homers in the game, a solo shot to Nick Swisher and a two-run bomb to Alexei Ramirez.

Our View: Sowers falls to 2-8 for the season and his ERA climbs to 5.97. He only won once over six starts in August, and could not get off to a good start in September.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 8/17, 3:14 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers allowed two earned runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings of work in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Angels, with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: He improves to 2-6, and ended a four-game drought without a win. He should only be considered in larger AL-only leagues down the stretch.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 8/12, 9:28 PM CT
The Indians needed a late surge of offense to get the job done, leaving starting LHP Jeremy Sowers with a performance unrewarded. Sowers pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Sowers walks with no decision and has not registered a win since July 19th. He continues to give up the long ball and now sports a 5.07 ERA.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 8/6, 3:37 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers issued three earned runs on six hits over six innings in Wednesday's 10-7 loss to the Rays, with three walks and two strikeouts. He exited the game with a 6-4 lead, and was handed a no decision.

Our View: Sowers holds a 1-6 record over 13 starts, and should remain a fantasy non-factor.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 8/1, 11:25 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers lasted 6.2 innings on Friday night as he surrendered only six base runners to the Twins. Too bad for Sowers four of those runners scored in his sixth loss of the year.

Our View: Sowers just can't seem to get over the hump this season as he has alternated good and bad performances over his last six outings. He is a hurler to watch, but not one that should be in your lineup right now.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 7/27, 3:13 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers pitched well in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Twins, as he only allowed two earned runs on three hits over eight innings, with one walk and five strikeouts.

Our View: He exited the game tied 2-2, so he was dealt a no-decision. Sowers is 1-4 over his last seven starts.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 7/13, 3:32 PM CT
The good news for Jeremy Sowers is that he struck out eight Tampa Bay Rays. The bad news is that he only worked four innings because he walked seven hitters, and did not qualify for the win.

Our View: Sowers' ERA is 7.51, and though this bout of wildness was uncharacteristic of him, he still holds no fantasy value.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 6/30, 11:37 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers allowed eight runs on six hits, walked two and struck out two helping the White Sox win their fifth straight game. Sowers was out of sorts from his first pitch allowing three first inning runs.

Our View: This effort raised Sowers 5.97 ERA to a monstrous 7.53 on the season and likely a trip back to Triple-A.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 6/25, 8:56 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers lost his third game of the season but he allowed only three runs over seven innings against the Giants.

Our View: Sowers held the Giants to three runs while putting 14 runners on base, not doing his fantasy owners any favors.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 6/19, 10:56 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers recorded a quality start, but it wasn't enough as the Rockies defeated the Indians 6-3 on Thursday night. Sowers allowed three runs on 10 hits, walked none and struck out four.

Our View: The 10 hits that Sowers surrendered included three infield hits and two bloopers. The lefty improved on his last start and given the circumstances the kid pitched well enough to win. The Indians bullpen, specifically Masahide Kobayashi, surrendered the lead in the seventh inning and the Rockies cruised to their third straight win and 31st of the season.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 6/19, 6:02 PM CT
While most believe that Jeremy Sowers is in the Cleveland rotation because of injuries, the left-hander deserves the chance and is much better than his 0-1 record, 7.23 ERA and 1.77 WHIP. Sowers will be a capable No. 4 or 5 starter for years to come, and will likely be even better when he's had more experience and time to develop at the big league level.

Our View: Remember in the 2006 season when everyone thought that the Cleveland Indians lefty was a superstar in the making after throwing back-to-back shutouts? It's amazing how quickly fans, and the fantasy nation, turn on a player, especially a pitcher. Sowers faces a Colorado Rockies lineup today that has no first hand experience against the young southpaw. Advantage Sowers tonight.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 6/19, 1:18 PM CT
Jeremy Sowers will be looking for his first win of 2008 when he takes the hill against the Rockies today at Coors Field, according to MLB.com. Sowers is 0-1 over four starts, with a 7.23 ERA and 1.77 WHIP.

Our View: Sowers should not be considered for your lineups, especially against a potent Rockies' lineup at Coors. Sowers is having trouble putting away hitters, and blew a 3-0 lead in his last outing on June 13, as Cleveland fell 9-5. He has given up nine earned runs over his last two starts, with only three strikeouts over the span.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 6/8, 10:37 AM CT
The Indians recalled Jeremy Sowers from Triple-A Buffalo Sunday. Sowers will start today's game for the Tribe. He holds a 2.08 ERA in 10 starts with Buffalo this year.

Our View: Sowers has made a couple spot starts already for the Indians this season, but with Fausto Carmona still on the DL and Jake Westbrook out for the year, he has a chance to stick around a while if he performs.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 5/17, 10:52 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo, according to MLB.com. The team recalled infielder Michael Aubrey from Triple-A, and Sowers was seen as expendable to open a roster spot.

Our View: As expected, Sowers was brought up to make just one start against the Reds. He held a poor 5.23 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 10.1 brief innings this season.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 5/16, 11:52 AM CT
The Indians recalled Jeremy Sowers from Triple-A Buffalo Friday. The lefty will make a spot start for the Tribe Saturday against the Reds. Jason Tyner was demoted to make room on the roster.

Our View: Sowers is expected to make just one start and then be sent back down. He's not a recommended play at Great American Ballpark.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/12, 7:41 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Jeremy Sowers will indeed make a spot start for the Indians on Friday when they take on the Reds, according to MLB.com. This move was necessitated when their game was rained out on Sunday forcing a Monday doubleheader.

Our View: Sowers is a soft tosser that needs to be on with his control to have success, and given that he will be pitching in Great American Ball Park it might be wise not to expect a very good outing from the Tribes youngster.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/12, 9:46 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers is the leading candidate to start on Friday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. With no scheduled off days until May 19, Manager Eric Wedge will need a starter Friday at Cincinnati

Our View: Sowers allowed three runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings in his lone start of this season, with one walk and three strikeouts. He is worth starting in inter-league play with the state rival Reds on Friday.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 5/7, 2:09 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers threw seven scoreless innings to improve his record to 2-2 for Triple-A Buffalo. He allowed three hits, two walks and struck out two.

Our View: Sowers has lost out on the fifth rotation spot to Aaron Laffey while Jake Westbrook is on the mend, but we should still be encouraged by his resurgence. Sowers has a 2.21 ERA at Triple-A and was not terrible in his lone major league start this season. We will almost certainly see him back in the majors at some point this season, though not necessarily as a starter.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 4/27, 11:43 AM CT
The Indians have optioned LHP Jeremy Sowers to Triple-A Buffalo, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Sowers got the start for the Indians on Saturday, allowing three runs (all earned) on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings. Sowers struck out three batters and walked just one, but walked away with no decision.

Our View: The move is motivated by the injury to Grady Sizemore as the Indians have recalled OF Brad Snyder from Buffalo to fill in as a reserve on the bench, thus Sowers suffered as the casualty of the events on Saturday night. Don't expect Sowers to spend too much time in the minors. The strong-armed hurler is expected to contribute to Cleveland's effort this season and showed well on Saturday. Once Sizemore is healthy, he could be back in the fold for the Indians. Stay tuned.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 4/26, 11:25 AM CT
Jeremy Sowers was recalled from the minors today to start against the Yankees, according to the AP. Sowers was 0-2 with a 3.18 ERA in four starts at Triple-A Buffalo, and lost out of Cliff Lee for the fifth rotation spot out of spring training. He is making a start in place of the injured Jake Westbrook.

Our View: Sowers went 1-6 over 13 starts with the Indians before getting sent down in 2007. He held a 1.56 WHIP over 67.1 innings, with only 24 strikeouts, and isn't worth fantasy consideration.
Jeremy Sowers, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 4/23, 7:46 PM CT
Updating an earlier report from CBSSports.com, the Indians have announced the team will recall LHP Jeremy Sowers from Triple-A Buffalo, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Sowers will get his first start with the Indians on Saturday as Cleveland welcomes the New York Yankees to town. Sowers will be taking the spot vacated by RHP Jake Westbrook, recent placed on the disabled list with a strained intercostal muscle on his left side. Sowers was 0-2 with an ERA of 3.18 in four starts for Buffalo.
