Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 9/17, 7:19 PM CT
Gavin Floyd will miss his next scheduled start on Monday as he deals with hip inflammation, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View: There is a chance he could even be shut-down. For now, the soon-to-be-activated Jake Peavy will slide into his rotation spot.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 9/16, 11:40 PM CT
Gavin Floyd gave up three earned runs on four hits over a mere three innings in Wednesday's 4-1 loss at Seattle. He had one walk with one strikeout.

Our View: Floyd was dealt a loss for his short outing, and is now 11-11 for 2009. He is 1-4 over his last six starts, and allowed three or more earned runs four times over the span.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 9/12, 12:04 AM CT
Gavin Floyd was tagged for five earned runs on six hits over five innings in Friday's 7-1 loss at the Angels. He had two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd was dealt his 10th loss of 2009 following his poor performance from the hill. He was a disappointment after only allowing one earned run over eight innings in his last start against Boston at U.S. Cellular Field.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 9/5, 6:01 PM CT
Gavin Floyd only surrendered one earned run on three hits over eight innings in Saturday's 5-1 win over Boston at U.S. Cellular Field. He issued no walks and racked up 11 strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd had a strong outing as he attempts to keep the Sox in the pennant race. He collected his 11th win, and set a new game-high for 2009 with 11 strikeouts.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 8/31, 10:05 PM CT
Gavin Floyd gave up three earned runs on nine hits over six innings in Monday's 4-1 loss at Minnesota. He had no walks and four strikeouts, and allowed two homers.

Our View: It was another disappointing night for the White Sox, and Floyd falls to 10-9 for the season. He is winless over his last three starts, and went 2-3 over six starts in August.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 8/26, 9:15 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed two earned runs on five hits over six innings in Wednesday's 3-2 loss at Boston. He had one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: Chicago tied the game at 2-2 in the eighth inning, so Floyd ends the night with a no-decision rather than a loss. He bounced back from his last outing, when he gave up four earned runs over 7.1 innings against Baltimore.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 8/15, 6:07 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was in control from the hill in Saturday's 8-1 win at Oakland, as he only issued one earned run on eight hits over seven innings. He had two walks and fired eight strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd bounced back well from his last outing when he was rocked for five earned runs over 5.2 innings at Seattle, and collected his 10th win of 2009. He has only allowed one earned in four of his last five starts.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 8/11, 12:04 AM CT
Gavin Floyd was lit up for five earned runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings in Monday's 6-4 loss at Seattle. He had three walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd was a disappointment tonight after only allowing one earned run in each of his last three starts. He should be able to get back on track, and should remain active in fantasy leagues for his next battle from the bump.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 8/5, 9:53 PM CT
Gavin Floyd only surrendered two runs (one earned) on six hits over eight innings in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Angels at U.S. Cellular Field. He had one walk and fired six strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd had a strong outing as he earned his team-leading ninth win of the season. He is in the zone right now as he only allowed one earned run in each of his last three starts.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 7/30, 11:14 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was excellent on Thursday, but he did not factor into the decision as the White Sox beat the Yankees 3-2. Floyd went 7.2 innings and allowed one run on four hits while walking one and striking out ten.

Our View: It is unfortunate that Floyd didn't get the win tonight, because he was absolutely outstanding on the hill for the Sox. That makes two straight no decisions fo Floyd in games that he should have won, but as long as he keeps pitching well the wins should show up.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 7/25, 7:06 PM CT
Gavin Floyd scattered six hits and three walks over over 6.2 innings on Saturday, but didn't earn a decision as the White Sox fell to the Tigers ten innings. He allowed just one earned run and struck out seven.

Our View: Floyd pitched well enough to win, but his bullpen collapsed and the run support wasn't there. He now has put together back to back quality starts after allowing five earned runs in each of his previous two.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 7/20, 10:45 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was solid, improving to 8-6, despite giving up three home runs to the Rays on Monday. Floyd failed to give up any other hits over seven innings and walked just two while logging seven strikeouts.

Our View: He'll have to limit the long ball, but it was still nice to see him get back on track after two rough outings. Floyd is a streaky pitcher, so you will probably be safe playing him in his next turn.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 7/11, 10:21 PM CT
Gavin Floyd gave up five earned runs on eight hits over 7.2 innings in Saturday's 8-7 win at Minnesota. He had no walks and fired seven strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd did not pitch very well tonight, but the Sox provided enough run support for him to collect his seventh win of the season. He allowed five earned runs in each of his last two starts, and his ERA climbed to 4.44.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 7/4, 5:03 PM CT
Gavin Floyd failed to pitch at least six innings for the first time since May 17 on Saturday, and took the loss as the Royals beat Chicago 6-4 on the Fourth of July.

Our View: Floyd has really turned things around since a rocky start, and is worth an own in every format.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 6/29, 9:21 PM CT
Gavin Floyd only surrendered five hits over 7.2 scoreless innings in Monday's 6-3 win at Cleveland. He issued two walks with five strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd continues to pitch great, as he allowed one or less earned runs in each of his last five starts, and is 3-0 over the span. He shall remain active in fantasy leagues.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 6/24, 10:47 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed three runs (only one earned) on six hits over six innings in Wednesday's 10-7 win over the Dodgers at U.S. Cellular Field. He had two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd evens his season record to 5-5, and only issued one earned run in each of his last four starts. Keep him active in fantasy leagues.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 6/18, 4:17 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was solid in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the cross-town rival Cubs at Wrigley Field, as he only allowed one earned run on four hits over seven innings. He had three walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: The Sox led 3-1 when Floyd exited, but he was unfortunately forced to take a no-decision as the Cubs rallied to score five runs over the last innings of the game to pull out a win. Floyd left with a 3-1 lead in his last outing against the Tigers as well. On the bright side, he trimmed his ERA down to 4.65 today.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 6/11, 6:49 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was in control in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Tigers at U.S. Cellular Field, as he only allowed one earned run on five hits over eight innings. He had no walks and fired five strikeouts.

Our View: He left the game with a 3-1 lead, but Curtis Granderson launched a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to tie the game 3-3, leaving Floyd with a no-decision rather than a win. He is pitching very well right now, as he allowed two or less earned runs in each of his three starts so far in June.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 6/6, 6:11 PM CT
Gavin Floyd produced his second straight good outing on Saturday as the White Sox beat the Indians 4-2. Floyd went 6.2 innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Our View: Floyd has been inconsistent all season, but today he looked like the pitcher most thought he would be this year. Floyd produced two very solid starts this week, so maybe he has turned the corner. Floyd owners should keep him in the lineup, but don't be shocked if he has a poor outing in his next few starts.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 6/1, 10:17 PM CT
Gavin Floyd pitched well in Monday's 6-2 win over Oakland at U.S. Cellular Field, as he only allowed two earned runs on four hits over seven innings. He had three walks and fired eight strikeouts.

Our View: He exited the game tied at 2-2, and it is a shame he was dealt a no-decision rather than a win. Bartolo Colon was originally supposed to go tonight, and he will now start Tuesday's game.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 6/1, 1:04 PM CT
Gavin Floyd will take the mound Monday when the White Sox play the A's instead of scheduled starter Bartolo Colon according to the Chicago Tribune. Colon will start Tuesday.

Our View: It's unclear why the switch was made, but be sure to change your lineup accordingly.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 5/27, 11:32 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was the tough luck loser for the White Sox on Wednesday as his team fell to the Angels 3-1. Floyd went eight innings and allowed three runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out eight.

Our View: Floyd was good tonight, but he was outdueled by Angels' pitcher Jared Weaver. Floyd has been very inconsistent this season, but his last two starts have been very impressive. Hopefully he can build on these starts and produce every time out, but until he proves it his fantasy value is still high risk.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 5/22, 11:09 PM CT
Gavin Floyd threw eight shutout innings in Friday's 2-0 win over the Pirates. He allowed just four base runners while striking out eight in his best performance of the season.

Our View: Floyd's last five starts have been terrible, so this was a big relief for Sox fans. He was a strong fantasy option for most of last season, but we would be hesitant to jump back on his bandwagon following a strong outing against the Pirates.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 5/17, 3:10 PM CT
Gavin Floyd was lit up for six earned runs on seven hits over five innings of work at Toronto. He had two walks with four strikeouts.

Our View: The Sox have lost their fourth straight game this season. Floyd has gone five straight starts without a win. His last win came on April 19 against Tampa Bay.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 5/11, 10:25 PM CT
Gavin Floyd continued to add upon his terrible start to the 2009 season with his worst performance yet, allowing eight runs off 11 hits and three walks with three strikeouts over five innings in a loss to Cleveland.

Our View: Floyd had a breakout year with Chicago last season and opened 2009 with nice starts in two of his first three outings but has been downright awful in his past four. He's still worth holding on to in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues, but he clearly cannot be entrusted with a start at this point and it wouldn't be crazy to drop him in shallow to mid-level leagues.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 5/5, 11:57 PM CT
Gavin Floyd struggled again on Tuesday against th Royals, lasting only five innings and allowing six runs on six hits while walking two and striking out two. Floyd did not factor into the decision.

Our View: Floyd has been pretty bad lately, and the young hurler is starting to lose his fantasy value. He has two wins, but his ERA is now at 6.29 and his WHIP is far too high. It may not be time to give up on him just yet, but watch him closely and play him only in good matchups for the next few starts.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 4/24, 11:04 PM CT
Gavin Floyd struggled mightily in his start on Friday, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits in 4.1 innings. He walked five and also struck out five. He is now 2-2 on the season.

Our View: Floyd walked five hitters in this outing, a problem that has plagued him in other starts this year. When he throws strikes he is pretty good, but when he puts people on base he is in trouble.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 4/19, 5:40 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed two runs over seven innings of work as the White Sox beat the Rays 12-2 on Sunday. He struck out seven while giving up six hits and no walks.

Our View: Perhaps the best news from this start was that he did not walk anybody. In his last outing against the Tigers, he posted seven free passes.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 4/13, 3:35 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed six earned runs on five hits over five innings in Monday's 10-6 win at Detroit. He issued seven walks, fired two strikeouts, and surrendered a three-run homer to Ramon Santiago.

Our View: It was a very sloppy outing for Floyd, but he was handed his first win of the season as his teammates offered plenty of offensive support. He is now 5-0 over 10 career starts against Detroit.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 4/13, 9:58 AM CT
Gavin Floyd is set for his second start of the season today against the Tigers at Comerica Park, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Floyd is 4-0 over nine career starts against Detroit, with a 3.23 ERA. The Sox have won two straight games, and trail Detroit by a half game for the AL Central lead.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 4/8, 11:15 PM CT
Gavin Floyd struck out nine batters in seven innings of work as the White Sox fell 2-0 to the Royals on Wednesday. He allowed both runs while giving up six hits and two walks.

Our View: It's an unfortunate loss for Floyd as he pitched pretty well. He only wasted 96 pitches through seven innings and generated twice as many ground balls as fly balls. That was not the case last season when he gave up 30 home runs.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 3/28, 6:00 PM CT
Gavin Floyd threw six innings, allowing seven hits and no runs while striking out seven in Chicago's 6-1 win over the Dodgers.

Our View: Floyd's spring ERA is now at 2.57. Some fantasy owners are not believers in Floyd, despite his 17 win performance from last season, but his start this spring should at least be mild encouragement.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 3/22, 2:42 PM CT
The Chicago Tribune reports that the White Sox have signed starter Gavin Floyd to a four-year contract extension.

Our View: Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is believed that a club option for 2013 will push the total north of $25 million.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 3/18, 6:06 PM CT
Gavin Floyd got knocked around a bit in his start on Wednesday, allowing three runs in five innings. He was victimized by two home runs, but struck out six against only one walk.

Our View: Floyd will be trying to build off a strong 2008 campaign where he won 17 games and recorded a 3.84 ERA in the tough AL Central. He's well on his way with a 3.60 ERA this spring.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 2/26, 8:23 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed a run on two hits in two innings Thursday as the White Sox took down the Rockies 4-1.

Our View: It may be too much to ask, but we'd like to think Floyd can improve upon a 2008 season in which he set career-highs in starts, innings pitched, wins, and strikeouts. The 82 percent of fantasy owners that laid claim to his services last season would surely argue he's capable.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 2/25, 11:55 PM CT
Gavin Floyd signed a one-year, $520,000 deal with the White Sox on Wednesday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Floyd started 33 games for Chicago last season, recording a very impressive 17-8 record with a 3.84 ERA. He didn't pitch well in his lone postseason start, but having that experience should make him a better pitcher for the future.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 10/6, 8:42 PM CT
Gavin Floyd lasted just three innings on Monday night as he allowed the Rays to scored four runs as the White Sox were eliminated from the playoffs.

Our View: Floyd was taken deep by B.J. Upton twice in the outing as he regressed to the merely average hurler he was for most of the month of September before that great final outing against the Tigers. Floyd just didn't have it tonight, but that doesn't detract from a truly solid campaign (17 wins, 3.84 ERA, 1.26 WHIP).
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 9/29, 7:35 PM CT
Gavin Floyd pitched well in a must-win game against the Detroit Tigers on Monday. He earned the win after throwing six innings, striking out eight and allowing just one earned run.

Our View: The young pitcher was throwing on just three-days rest and earned his 17th win of the season. He finishes the regular season with a 3.84 ERA and could be a fantasy force for many years to come.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 9/28, 10:01 PM CT
Gavin Floyd will start in a must-win game for the White Sox on Monday according to the AP. They will be facing the Tigers in a makeup game and if they win, they will be tied with Minnesota for first place in the AL Central.

Our View: Floyd has not been very sharp in September. His last start against the Tigers was on August 5th and lasted just four innings. He gave up five runs on eight hits including two home runs to Placido Polance and Curtis Granderson. He avoided the loss. For his career, he is 3-0 with a 3.45 ERA in eight starts against the Tigers.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 9/25, 12:08 PM CT
As the White Sox and Twins battle for the AL Central crown, Chicago will send hurler Gavin Floyd to the mound, which might mean off nights for Twins cornerstones Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer. Combined, they have hit just .212 (7-for-33) off the lefty.

Our View: Chicago needs this game in the worst way, as they have lost the first two games of the series and will fall back to second place with another loss. If Floyd can contain Morneau and Mauer, the Sox will obviously have a much better chance of success.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 9/20, 9:44 PM CT
Gavin Floyd issued five earned runs on eight hits over 6.1 innings in Saturday's disappointing 5-2 loss to the Royals, with no walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd was pitching on short rest (three days) as the Sox were lining up their starters for next week's showdown with the AL Central rival Twins. He falls to 16-8 following the loss, and has pitched 194.2 innings, which is higher than his total innings over his previous four seasons in the majors (178.2).
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 9/19, 12:35 PM CT
Gavin Floyd is expected to pitch on short rest (three days) against the Royals on Saturday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: It is necessary as the Sox are trying to line up their starters for next week's crucial showdown with the AL Central rival Twins. Floyd would pitch the final contest of the three-game set. The Sox hope they can get by using Javier Vazquez, Mark Buehrle and Floyd on three days rest before they revert to their normal four-day break before the Twins series. Floyd is currently at 188.1 innings pitched, and would reach the 200 mark with two solid outings.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 9/16, 9:23 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed two runs on nine hits while striking out four over seven innings Tuesday. He picked up his 16th win of the year in the 6-2 win over the Yankees.

Our View: Who would've guessed before the year that Floyd would notch 16 wins? The former first-round pick has been quite consistent, so we can't chalk up his success this year as a fluke.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 9/11, 10:33 PM CT
Gavin Floyd fell to 15-7 after allowing four runs in 7.1 innings to the Jays on Thursday night. He only permitted eight base runners in the game, but half of them came around to score (all in the eighth inning).

Our View: This was Floyd first loss in six decisions though he hasn't looked terribly sharp in his last two outings as he has posted a 5.65 ERA in that time. Still, he has been tremendous this year with those 15 wins and an ERA below four (3.77) in what has to be classified as a breakout campaign.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 9/11, 5:11 PM CT
Gavin Floyd has won his last five decisions, and the White Sox have won seven of his last eight starts. The right-hander pitched a perfect inning of relief against the Blue Jays, his opponent tonight, in his lone appearance against them in 2007.

Our View: Give the early inning advantage to Floyd when facing the Blue Jays lineup, few of the Toronto hitters have faced the Chicago starter.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 8/31, 3:38 PM CT
Gavin Floyd won his 15th game of the season by surrendering just one run in 6.2 innings on seven hits in the White Sox 4-2 win over Boston.

Our View: Floyd has been putting up solid numbers across the board. His August had been shaky, but he ended it with two solid performances, restoring the confidence of fantasy owners .
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 8/26, 9:19 PM CT
Chicago RHP Gavin Floyd had his way with the Baltimore Orioles this evening, pushing his White Sox to a dominating 8-3 win. Floyd pitched eight innings, allowing two runs (both earned) on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd moves to 14-6 on the seasn with a 3.70 ERA. Since June 1st, Floyd has gone 9-3, going 3-0 on five starts this month (though the 16 earned runs allowed are a bit worrisome).
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 8/20, 4:20 PM CT
Gavin Floyd threw six solid innings, striking out seven Mariners and allowing three runs in the White Sox 15-3 demolition of Seattle.

Our View: This makes two solid starts in a row for Floyd, who had been regressing a bit.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 8/10, 4:30 PM CT
Gavin Floyd won his 12th game of the season, though it was not one of his better efforts. In 5.1 innings against Boston, Floyd surrendered five earned runs on seven hits.

Our View: Floyd has been a solid performer for fantasy owners this season, with a nice win total, ERA and WHIP.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 7/30, 10:21 PM CT
Chicago RHP Gavin Floyd continues to enjoy a breakthrough season with the White Sox, tonight picking up his 11th win of the season by leading his White Sox to the 8-3 trouncing of the Twins. Floyd pitched 7 2/3 innings, allowing just one run on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd is unlikely to accept praise, but his rise this season has been fun to watch. After going 4-1 in June he is now even at 2-2 through July despite allowing just 11 earned runs over that same span.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 7/25, 9:23 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed 12 baserunners as he battled through six tough innings in the White Sox 6-5 victory over Detroit. Floyd gave up three earned runs, but walked three and allowed nine hits.

Our View: This is the fourth consecutive start Floyd has walked at least three batters. He'll need to improve on that if he wants to continue his fine season.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 7/11, 10:17 PM CT
Gavin Floyd gave up six runs, seven walks and five hits in just 2.2 innings to the Rangers on Friday.

Our View: This was Floyd's worst start of the season and he continues to struggle away from Chicago.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 7/5, 9:02 PM CT
Gavin Floyd picked up his 10th win of the season on Saturday by holding the Athletics scoreless over 7.1 innings.

Our View: Floyd is 6-1 in his last seven decisions and he continues to have a high level of success for a guy who is barely striking out six batters per nine innings. The ratios don't figure to hold up, but it's obvious that Floyd has been a difference maker so far.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxMonday 6/30, 11:34 PM CT
Gavin Floyd allowed four runs on seven hits, walked two and recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts over six innings and the White Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians 9-7 on Monday night.

Our View: Floyd won his ninth game against four losses in Chicago's 47th victory of the season.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxWednesday 6/25, 11:40 PM CT
Gavin Floyd lost his fourth game of the season on Wednesday as he was hit for five runs, four earned, in 5.1 innings against the Dodgers.

Our View: Floyd's 3.39 ERA is the highest it has been since his firs start, but he continues to give the Sox a chance to win in almost every start. He rarely dominates, but more often than not he gets the job done.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 6/19, 5:29 PM CT
It wasn't Gavin Floyd best effort this year, but the White Sox right-hander won his fourth straight decision, allowing seven runs (one earned) on six hits, walked two and struck out six as Chicago defeated Pittsburgh 13-8 on Thursday afternoon.

Our View: Floyd improved his record to 8-3 and his ERA dipped 11 points from 3.30 to 3.19.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 6/13, 11:36 PM CT
The Rockies Ian Stewart hit two solo home runs and Willy Tavares and Brad Hawpe added solo shots, the only hits Chicago's Gavin Floyd allowed in 6 1/3 innings of his no-decision on Friday night.

Our View: Floyd allowed more than one homer in a game this season for the first time. He Last gave up four homers in a game Sept. 7 against the Twins.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 6/8, 6:27 PM CT
Chicago RHP Gavin Floyd picked up his seventh win of the season today as his White Sox brought a crate full of offense in support of his arm, winning 12-2 over the Twins. Floyd sent seven innings to allow two runs (both earned) on six hits with one walk and a dominating nine strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd now sits at 7-3 with an ERA of 3.10 on the season. He has three consecutive wins, touting seven earned runs allowed with one walk and 20 strikeouts during that span.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxFriday 5/23, 9:43 PM CT
Gavin Floyd had one bad inning Friday, and it cost him a win. The righty allowed a homer, two walks, a single and hit two batters en route to giving up three runs in the fifth inning. He faced just two over the minimum over the rest of the night in a complete game effort. The Angels won the game 3-1.

Our View: Floyd has been a pleasant surprise this year, holding a 2.93 ERA in nine starts. That 25/27 K/BB rate sure is ugly, though.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSaturday 5/17, 7:27 AM CT
Gavin Floyd threw six scoreless innings in Friday's 2-0 win over the Giants. He only allowed four hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Floyd is now 4-2 with a 2.92 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. He is pitching well this season, and is worthy of your starting rotation if you don't mind his low strikeout totals (has 22 over 49.1 innings).
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxSunday 5/11, 8:29 PM CT
Gavin Floyd, who has toyed with no-hitters and been one of the toughest pitchers to hit this season, allowed five runs on nine hits in only 3.2 innings of work Sunday in a loss to the Mariners.

Our View: Floyd entered with a major league-leading opponent batting average of .149. He carried a no-hitter into the ninth Tuesday against Minnesota and into the seventh April 12 against Detroit.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 5/6, 9:52 PM CT
Gavin Floyd toyed with no-hitter on Tuesday night. He didn't allow a hit until Joe Mauer doubled in the ninth inning. Floyd finished with one hit and one unearned run allowed over 8.1 innings. He walked three and struck out four.

Our View: Back on April 12, Floyd took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against the Tigers. This 25-year-old right-hander has taken a long time to find his comfort zone at the major league level, but it looks like fantasy owners can start believing.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 5/6, 3:54 PM CT
Gavin Floyd will take the mound when the White Sox host the division rival Twins tonight, according to MLB.com. Floyd is yet to beat the Twins in his career, as he is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA.

Our View: Floyd is 2-1 over five starts this season, with a 3.16 ERA and a solid 1.09 WHIP. Floyd has allowed eight runs over his last two starts (12 innings), and remains an erratic fantasy option (despite his WHIP). He has also given up a home run in three straight starts, and the Twins are well stocked with guys who can take it out of the yard, like Justin Morneau.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxTuesday 4/29, 2:52 PM CT
Gavin Floyd will take the mound tonight against the Twins, according to MLB.com. Floyd is 2-0 this season with a 2.84 ERA, but is 0-2 over two career starts against Minnesota, while allowing 10 earned runs on 15 hits over 11.1 innings, with five of those hits going for homers.

Our View: Floyd also holds a solid 1.03 WHIP this season, and will have a good chance to change his luck against the Twins.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 4/17, 9:33 PM CT
The strong performance by Gavin Floyd on Thursday resulted in a no-decision after closer Bobby Jenks blew a two run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning. Floyd threw six strong innings allowing two runs (both unearned) on two hits, walking two and striking out four.

Our View: Floyd appears to have arrived, and just in time as far as the White Sox are concerned. Tonight's loss was a blow to the division leaders.
Gavin Floyd, P, Chicago White SoxThursday 4/17, 8:26 PM CT
For the second straight game Gavin Floyd flirted with a no-hitter. While his second start wasn't as impressive as his first when he took a no-no into the eighth inning, the White Sox starter retired the first 12 batters before Kevin Millar led off the fifth inning with a single off Joe Crede's glove.

Our View: Floyd has simply been outstanding this year. Coming into Thursday's game the right-hander was 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA.

Gavin Floyd lost his bid for a no hitter in the eighth inning today, but improved to 2-0 for the season, as he only allowed the one hit over 7.1 innings of work against the Tigers, with four walks and four strikeouts.

Gavin Floyd had a rough day from the bump against Milwaukee on Wednesday as he allowed six runs on nine hits over five innings of work, but salvaged his outing with seven strikeouts and no walks. Regardless of today's performance, he should still have a firm grip on a rotation spot.

An outing gone bad for Gavin Floyd shouldn’t be weighted too heavily, according to MLB.com. Floyd surrendered five hits and four runs through four innings as the White Sox fell 5-6 to Arizona. Floyd suffered through three walks, somewhat balanced by three strike outs, but the box score won’t show the weather: Rain, cold, wind. Floyd has all but secured the fifth spot in Chicago’s starting rotation, but his work throughout spring training has been as solid as ever and the work done in that fourth inning (one walk, two strikeouts, a weak grounder to 2B Juan Uribe) may be a better indicator of things to come.

Gavin Floyd stepped to the mound fresh off a win over the flu and pitched four solid innings, giving up two runs and three hits with a walk and two strike outs in the White Sox's 5-7 loss to the Texas Rangers in the cactus League today, according to the Associated Press. Floyd is considered the favorite for the 5th spot in Chicago's starting rotation, thanks in large part to performances such as this. Last year, Floyd posted an ERA of 7.07 in his first four starts but improved dramatically as the season moved along, improving to a 3.41 ERA over his final six starts. He has a ton of upside and may just now be starting to fulfill his potential.

Gavin Floyd impressed manager Ozzie Guillen during his bullpen session Monday. "Outstanding," Guillen said in the Chicago Sun-Times of Floyd's session. "There's one thing about Gavin Floyd: The problem was not the stuff he has. The problem was he didn't have any confidence. But if this kid comes around and has confidence he can pitch on this level, I don't see why he can't be a real good one - not just a third or fourth guy. He has the stuff to be a No. 2 or No. 1 guy." Floyd will compete for a rotation spot this spring. His big league track record is ugly (6.30 ERA in 178 2/3 innings), but he turned 25 just last month and still has a shot to develop into a decent starter.
