Wilson Valdez, SS, New York MetsTuesday 8/18, 5:11 PM CT
According to TSN.com, the Mets have purchased the contract of infielder Wilson Valdez.

Our View: He will replace Alex Cora on the roster, who needs surgery on both thumbs. In 11 games with the Mets this season Valdez hit .208 with three RBI. He holds no fantasy value.

Wilson Valdez has been designated for assignment by the Mets, according to Bart Hubbuch's (New York Post) twitter page.

Our View: The 31-year-old infielder failed to prove his worth to the Mets, as he only hit .208 (with no homers) over 24 at-bats. Valdez should continue to be ignored in fantasy leagues.
Wilson Valdez, SS, New York MetsMonday 6/1, 9:34 PM CT
Wilson Valdez was productive in Monday's 8-5 loss at Pittsburgh, as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. He hit a double and a triple.

Our View: He made a fielding error, but the Mets should still be pleased with his performance at the plate. The 31-year-old vet is filling in at shortstop while Jose Reyes is on the shelf, and Valdez is worth a look in deeper NL-only leagues following tonight's outing.

The New York Daily News reports that the Mets have acquired infielder Wilson Valdez from the Indians for cash considerations.

Our View: The Mets needed another infielder with Jose Reyes landing on the DL and he will likely be used in defensive situations. He joins the active roster instantly, but is not a fantasy worthy performer in any format.

Wilson Valdez has signed with the Indians, according to Scout.com.

Our View: The 30-year-old infielder has the versatility to play multiple positions, but holds a dismal .211 average over 256 career at-bats (111 games) in the majors.
