Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 3/11, 5:58 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 0-for-1 with three walks, a steal and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Giants.

Our View: Figgins has yet to get a hit in spring training, but is still managing to impress his new teammates with his batting eye and his legs. He'll need to hit eventually, but as long as he's drawing walks, swiping bags and scoring runs at the top of the lineup the M's shouldn't have a lot of complaints right now.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 12/8, 4:42 PM CT
Chone Figgins has finalized his four-year deal with the Mariners worth $36MM, according to the Associated Press. There is also a vesting option for 2014 that could make the contract worth $45MM.

Our View: Figgins led the AL with 101 walks in 2009, and also posted a career-high .395 on-base percentage. He should make a solid replacement for Adrian Beltre at third base, and should also form a nice tandem with Ichiro Suzuki at the top of the batting order.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 12/6, 6:24 PM CT
Chone Figgins will take a physical with Seattle's team doctors on Monday after which, assuming he passes, his four-year, $36 million deal with the Mariners will be officially announced, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: Assuming there isn't anything here that nobody currently knows about, Figgins will pass the physical and be Seattle's third baseman and likely leadoff hitter next season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 12/4, 9:05 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Chone Figgins has reportedly agreed on a four-year deal with the Mariners worth $36MM, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: There is also believed to be a vesting option for a fifth year, but the Mariners have yet to announce the signing. With Ichiro and Figgins at the top of the lineup, the Mariners will cause lots of trouble for opposing teams with their feet.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 12/4, 1:55 PM CT
Updating an earlier item, the Mariners are on the "verge" of signing utility fielder Chone Figgins, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Our View: The potential deal is rumored to be for four seasons at around $36 million. Stay tuned.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 12/4, 9:00 AM CT
Fox Sports reports that the Mariners are the "clear frontrunners" to sign infielder/outfielder Chone Figgins.

Our View: The two sides reportedly engaged in serious discussions on Thursday, and could reportedly agree to a four-year deal in just a few days time. The Angels reportedly want to keep their long-time spark plug, but don't want to give him a contract longer than three years. Stay tuned.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 12/3, 6:15 PM CT
Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated tweeted that Chone Figgins is now on the Mariners' radar.

Our View: The Mariners would have to give draft pick compensation to the Angels if they sign Figgins. The Angels offered the Type A free agent salary arbitration. The Mets are among the teams also interested in Figgins.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 12/1, 7:28 PM CT
Chone Figgins has been offered salary arbitration from the Angels, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View: Figgins is a Type A free agent, so the Angels would receive two top draft picks as compensation if he inks with another team. The Phillies are believed to be interested in the speedy Figgins if he rejects his arbitration offer.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 11/10, 5:16 PM CT
Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated tweeted that the Phillies are seriously considering Chone Figgins.

Our View: The addition would give the Phillies more speed, and three leadoff-types, joining Shane Victorino and Jimmy Rollins. He would be a nice upgrade over Pedro Feliz at third base.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/30, 11:37 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in tonight's 5-0 win over the Rangers at Angel Stadium. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Figgins bounced back after going hitless over his previous three games (nine at-bats). He continues to lead the AL with 114 runs scored.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/23, 7:05 PM CT
Chone Figgins was productive in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Yankees at Angel Stadium, as he went 3-for-4 with a double and two singles.

Our View: Figgins collected three hits in each of his last two games, but is only batting .250 in September.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/2, 8:36 PM CT
Chone Figgins' 2-for-3 effort on Wednesday represented half of the Angels total hits in their 3-0 loss to the Mariners.

Our View: Figgins has hit over .300 in every month this season since April ended and has his overall average up to .310. The LA speedster has also swiped 39 bases this season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 8/16, 5:40 PM CT
Chone Figgins wreaked havoc on the Orioles Sunday. He went 4-for-7 with three doubles, three runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base in the Angels' 17-8, 13-inning win.

Our View: Figgins has been leading the charge in the top spot for the Angels all season. To go along with his .312 average he's also swiped 37 bases. He's not much in the power department (just one extra-base hit in August coming into Sunday's game), but more than makes up for it in other categories.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 8/15, 9:49 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 3-for-4 with a run scored in tonight's 5-1 win at Baltimore. He hit a double and two singles, and also swiped two bases.

Our View: Figgins has a five-game hitting streak, and raised his batting average to .308. He leads the AL with 89 runs scored, and paces the Angels with 36 stolen bags.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/12, 6:18 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in the Angels' 10-5 win over the Rays Wednesday.

Our View: Figgins now has 34 steals and has his average above .300 for the season. He looks to have delivered on the whole "bounce-back season" thing in 2009.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 7/25, 8:34 PM CT
Chone Figgins wreaked havoc on the basepaths Saturday. He went 2-for-4 with three runs score, a pair of RBI and swiped three bags in the Angels' 11-5 win over the Twins.

Our View: Figgins now has 31 thefts this season and is continuing his fine bounce back campaign. The speedster has bumped up his RBI production this month as well, driving in 16 after totaling just 12 in April and May combined.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 7/14, 12:25 PM CT
According to the Twitter page of ESPN's Amy K. Nelson, Angels' infielder Chone Figgins has been added to the American League All-Star team. He will replace the injured Evan Longoria on the roster.

Our View: Many people thought Figgy deserved to be on the team to begin with, and now he gets his chance. This is his first All-Star nod, and it is just unfortunate that he didn't get to experience the rest of the All-Star festivities like the Home Run Derby last night.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 7/5, 2:48 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Angels' infielder Chone Figgins is on the ballot for the final All-Star spot voted by the fans. He is joined by third baseman Brandon Inge of the Tigers, second baseman Ian Kinsler of the Rangers, designated hitter Adam Lind of the Blue Jays and first baseman Carlos Pena of the Rays.

Our View: The fans get to vote one of these players onto the team, and it looks wide open at this point. All five are deserving, so vote for your favorite at MLB.com.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/17, 5:43 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored in the Angels 4-3 win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Our View: Figgins' 48 runs scored this season ranks third in the American League. It is just June 17 and Figgins already has nine multi-hit games this month.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/3, 9:00 PM CT
Chone Figgins was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI in Wednesday's 8-1 win over Toronto.

Our View: Figgins is hitting over .300 for the first time since April 17. This was his seventh three-hit game since May 1.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/31, 9:01 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs and his 20th stolen base of the season on Sunday.

Our View: Figgins became the third player to reach 20 stolen bases this season, after Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury. While his lack of power is a bit of an annoyance coming from third base, he's more than made up for it with his elite speed this season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 5/23, 12:53 AM CT
Chone Figgins was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBI, a walk, and a stolen base in Friday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers. He now has 19 stolen bases on the season.

Our View: This was the sixth three-hit game of the month for Figgins. Not only is he hitting and stealing bags at an excellent rate, but he has already drawn 21 walks against just 25 strikeouts. He should be in line for a ton of stolen base and run scoring opportunities all season long.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 5/9, 11:56 PM CT
Chone Figgins is the man who delivered Zack Greinke his first loss of the season. His Sac fly in the third inning held up as the only run of the game and the Angels topped the Royals 1-0 on Saturday.

Our View: Figgins has been pretty much what we expected this season. He has a .262 average with zero homers, six RBI and 12 steals. He's a good source of speed, but until he gets the average up he doesn't hold much value outside of AL-only leagues.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/7, 11:50 PM CT
Chone Figgins was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two stolen bases in Thursday's 6-1 win over Toronto.

Our View: Figgins has three three-hit games in his last four starts and he has raised his average from .226 to .280 in that short span. His OBP is up to .381 and he has gotten himself into plenty of stolen base situations. He is 12-for-14 in steal attempts this season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 4/30, 9:31 PM CT
Chone Figgins was 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored as the Angels fell to the Yankees 7-4 on Thursday.

Our View: Figgins has struggled throughout April, but he does have nine stolen bases. Tonight was his first triple of the year, and he only had four all of last season. We still like his chances of getting hot and being a productive player, but he is starting to test our patience.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 4/17, 11:49 PM CT
Third baseman Chone Figgins went 3-for-5 with two runs and a steal in Friday's loss to the Twins.

Our View: Figgins has already swiped six bags (on seven attempts), and the Angels will need him to keep setting the table if they plan to score well while Vlad Guerrero is out. Chone is an excellent source of speed when healthy, and fantasy owners obviously hope the injury bug doesn't bite again as it did in 2006 and 2007.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 4/16, 8:02 AM CT
FoxSports reports that Chone Figgins could be trade bait by the deadline this season. The third baseman is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and prospect Brandon Wood will be out of minor league options.

Our View: The team would rather move Juan Rivera and keep Figgins as a left fielder. However, there does not figure to be much interest in Rivera and Figgins may be too expensive to hold onto. He's off to a good start this season with a .459 OBP and five stolen bases through eight games.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 3/31, 6:30 PM CT
Chone Figgins was 2-for-3 with two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored on Tuesday. He's now hitting .419 and has driven in 10 this spring.

Our View: Figgins has never been a power threat, but he's still a solid option at third base. Last year's under achievements seem to be behind him, as he's having a fantastic spring. Expect lots of doubles, triples, runs and steals. He might get that average back to the .300 plateau as well.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 3/30, 6:08 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, a triple, a walk, a strikeout, and a stolen base as the Angels beat the White Sox 13-3 on Monday. He raised his spring average to .407 in the process.

Our View: Figgins fell off last season as he managed just one triple while hitting .276. However, things are looking good this spring and he already has eight stolen bases to go with two triples. He no longer holds the multi-position eligibility of the past, but he should still be given strong consideration given this year's crop of third basemen.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 3/28, 6:38 PM CT
In the Angels 16-9 win over the Mariners, L.A.'s Chone Figgins went 3-for-4, and stole his seventh base of the spring.

Our View: Figgins is hitting .385 on the spring. By this point, fantasy owners should know what he is and what he brings to the table - no power, few RBI, decent average, good stolen base total.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 3/18, 5:59 PM CT
Chone Figgins hit his first home run of the spring in a 1-for-3 effort on Wednesday. It was a two-run shot.

Our View: Figgins is very light in the power department, but his value lies in stolen bases. He's coming off a down year in 2008 and fantasy owners are hoping for a rebound. He's batting .364 this spring, so that's a start.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 3/14, 7:24 PM CT
Chone Figgins was 2-for-3 with two doubles in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Cubs.

Our View: The two doubles were his first extra base hits of the spring. Figgins had only 16 extra base hits out of 125 last season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 3/9, 5:37 PM CT
Chone Figgins had a good day for the Angels on Monday, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Our View: Figgins is hitting .273 so far this spring for Anaheim. If he can stay healthy, he could be a valuable contributor to fantasy teams due to his speed.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 3/8, 10:39 PM CT
Chone Figgins stole his second base of the spring and scored a run Sunday as the Angels beat up on the Giants 8-1.

Our View: Figgins should once again be one of the top base stealers in all of the AL. He finished sixth in the league in 2008, and given he exceeds his 116 games played last season, he should top that number as the Angels continue to excel at a NL brand of baseball.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 1/14, 7:53 PM CT
The AP reports that the Los Angeles Angels avoided arbitration with Chone Figgins by agreeing to a one-year, $5.8 million contract on Wednesday.

Our View: The 3o-year-old posted 41 triples over four seasons before notching only one last season. He did still manage 34 stolen bases in 116 games, but all of his power numbers fell off, as evidenced by his career-low .318 slugging percentage. He has traditionally been eligible for multiple positions, but he will be available only at third base in most leagues.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 1/13, 7:48 AM CT
The Chicago White Sox are interested in acquiring the services of Angels speedster Chone Figgins, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View: The teams are talking about a Jermaine Dye for Figgins swap. Figgins can play third base, second base and in the outfield, and the White Sox could use a player at all three positions.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 1/5, 5:02 PM CT
The Angels have signed manager Mike Scioscia to an extension, according to Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports. Details of the contract are unknown, but the extension is believed to go through 2012.

Our View: Scioscia has been managing the Angels since 2000. He has won the AL West four times in nine years and won the wild card, World Series, and AL Manager of the Year in 2002, so it's not hard to see why they want to keep him around.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 12/10, 10:59 PM CT
The L.A. Times reports The Chicago Cubs have made trade inquiries about third baseman Chone Figgins, but it will be difficult for the Angels to figure out what they might even ask for in return until they determine whether they can retain free-agent first baseman Mark Teixeira.

Our View: If the Cubs could possibly pull the trigger on a Jake Peavy deal, they may be position to offer one of their starting pitchers. Figgins, a switch-hitting super utility player who has started at six different positions, would be a nice fit for the Cubs, who could also use a good leadoff hitter.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 11/9, 3:16 PM CT
If the Angels acquire third baseman Garrett Atkins from the Rockies, Chone Figgins may be moved to left field to replace Garret Anderson.

Our View: Figgins has proved to be extremely versatile for the Angels in years past, and his speed may be a plus in the outfield for the Angels.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 10/5, 6:15 PM CT
Chone Figgins will look to stir things up for the Angels in their attempt to extend their season with a victory against the Red Sox in Game 3 of the ALDS, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Mark Teixeira, Vladimir Guerrero and Torii Hunter are hitting .609 through two games while the rest of the offense is a sickly 6-for-50 (.120). If Figgins and the others in the lineup don't get going, it will be a long night against Josh Beckett and the Sox.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 10/4, 12:47 AM CT
Chone Figgins was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox. His triple was the Halos first and only extra base hit of the season and he scored on a Mark Teixeira sac fly to tie the game in the eighth.

Our View: Remarkably, Chone had just one triple in 116 regular season game. The Angels will need more performances like this from their leadoff hitter if they want to get back into this series.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/21, 2:20 PM CT
Chone Figgins is back in the Angels lineup, leading off and playing third base, according to the Orange County Register.

Our View: Figgins had been out since early in the week with a bruised triceps. Fantasy owners can feel free to put him back in their lineup, and hopefully he'll resume thieving bases.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/19, 8:32 PM CT
MLB.com reports that the results from Chone Figgins' MRI and CT scan revealed a deep contusion of the triceps tendon in his right elbow. "It's just a bruised triceps," manager Mike Scioscia said. "He's feeling better. It's a relief for us. When he's ready, we'll put him back at third base."

Our View: The last bit Scioscia had to say was particularly interesting, because there had been speculation that Figgins might shift over to play second base because regular second baseman Howie Kendrick still is on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. Consider Figgins day-to-day, but he may miss the entire weekend series with the Rangers.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/14, 6:07 PM CT
Chone Figgins stole his 32nd base of the year on Sunday as he also produced two hits, scored a run and knocked one in for the Angels.

Our View: Figgins has endured a terribly frustrating season this year with his lowest stolen base mark since 2003 and his lowest runs scored total (68) since that same 2003 season. Toss in a .277 average and his effort has fallen well short of the draft day cost of this speedster.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/12, 10:07 AM CT
Chone Figgins had been battling elbow soreness but could be cleared for tonight's game, according to the LA Times. He has been out of action since getting hit by a pitch Monday.

Our View: The Angels have already clinched a spot in the playoffs, so there is no need to rush him back and risk further aggravating the injury, but it appears that he will be back at some point during the weekend, if not tonight.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/10, 4:36 PM CT
Chone Figgins was not in the Angels lineup on Wednesday as he was still experiencing soreness in his right elbow, according to the Orange County Register. “Figgy’s elbow is still to the point where he couldn’t throw and it affects his swing,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. “We’re just going to let this heal up and give him a couple days.”

Our View: Figgins had x-rays which were negative, but as you just read he simply isn't able to do what is needed to be in the lineup right now. Given the cushion the Angels enjoy in the AL West, the club will clearly take its time with Figgins to make sure he is healthy for the post-season, so there is no reason to think he will be back before the weekend at the earliest.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 9/9, 10:58 PM CT
Chone Figgins was unable to start on Tuesday night due to a sore right elbow. He was hit on Monday. "We’re going to give him a day see how this thing works itself out," manager Mike Scioscia tells the Orange County Register. Robb Quinlan started in his place.

Our View: Fantasy owners with daily lineup changes might want to plan on using another option on Wednesday, too.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 9/6, 10:31 PM CT
Chone Figgins hit his first home run in over 400 at bats this season on Saturday. He also doubled and scored twice for the Angels.

Our View: Figgins had been in a slight slump and it appears he has found his slump-buster. The Angels would like for him to heat up as the playoffs approach.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 9/2, 9:38 PM CT
Chone Figgins was on base three times with a hit and two walks, and wound up stealing three bases in the Angels 5-4 win over Detroit.

Our View: Seeing as how Figgins has no power and drives in few runners, fantasy owners are counting on him to steal bags, so Tuesday was a good night.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 8/29, 12:02 AM CT
Chone Figgins had two hits and stole his 26th base of the season for the Angels (he was also caught for the 11th time).

Our View: With all the injuries to the team's infielders, the Angels desperately need a healthy and productive Figgins to come to the for. If he doesn't, they could be in some trouble on offense.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/27, 7:47 PM CT
Third baseman Chone Figgins is not in the Angels’ lineup on Wednesday because an irritated big toe on his left foot, the result of a bad step during a run-down play in the seventh inning of a 5-1 victory over Oakland a day earlier, according to the Orange County Register.

Our View: Figgins had X-rays taken, which were normal. With Figgins out, Robb Quinlan will start at third base against the A’s.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 8/25, 11:39 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 2-for-4 but was picked off of first base, the tenth time he has been caught stealing this season, in the Angels 2-1 loss to Oakland.

Our View: Figgins is still a solid fantasy option, but he needs to pick it up a little bit in the average department (.284), and it would be nice to see a bit more consistency in his all-around game as well.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/20, 10:01 PM CT
The Angels needed a bit of late-inning magic to get it done, but tonight they pulled the 5-4 win over the Rays with an assist from the bat of third baseman Chone Figgins. Figgins went 2-for-4 at the dish with his 12th double of the season, totaling one RBI and one run scored.

Our View: Figgins has struggled on offense all season long, and this month has been no different. He has gathered just three stolen bases this month, is hitting just .232, and he has yet to hit a home run this season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 8/10, 6:05 PM CT
Chone Figgins singled off Mariano Rivera in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game for the Angels, 4-3 over the Yankees. He was 2-for-5 overall on the day.

Our View: Figgins is having a difficult August, but maybe he'll be sparked by today's heroics. He still provides fantasy owners with plenty of stolen bases and a solid OBP.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 8/9, 6:14 PM CT
Angels leadoff man Chone Figgins was up and running today, supporting the 11-4 win over the Yankees in grand style. Figgins went 2-for-5 at the plate, stealing two bases on the day to total one RBI and one run scored.

Our View: Figgins now touts 24 stolen bases on the season, swiping one in each of his last four games in July and three over his last three this month.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 8/5, 9:02 AM CT
Baltimore closer George Sherrill walked Chone Figgins with two outs in the ninth inning Monday to force in the winning run, as the Angels beat the Orioles 6-5.

Our View: Figgins should continue to be a force hitting atop the potent Angels lineup. Look for him to be a great source of runs, stolen bases, and average.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/30, 9:57 PM CT
The Angels put a 9-2 whooping on the Red Sox tonight, ending the series in a three-game sweep of the defending World Series champ. Leadoff man Chone Figgins did his part, going 3-for-5 at the plate with one run scored and his 20th stolen base of the season.

Our View: That's three stolen bases over his last three games, though hitting .217 through July is disappointing.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 7/27, 9:29 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 0-for-4 on Sunday. His batting average in July has sunk to .206 (16-for-77). Since June 22, when he was hitting .315, his batting average has dropped 47 points, to .268 and his on-base percentage has fallen to .371 from .422.

Our View: Figgins is as cold as he can get right now. The Angels may try to acquire another bat at the deadline and relegate Figgins to a utility role rather than an everyday starter. He has just one triple and 17 stolen bases this season.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/18, 10:54 AM CT
Chone Figgins returned from Florida in time for Thursday's workout and will be activated off the bereavement list tonight, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Figgins' father, Charles, who suffered a major stroke in 2006, was hospitalized last week because of a seizure, but he was released Saturday and is doing better, according to Figgins. He should return to your lineups for the new fantasy week.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 7/13, 11:15 AM CT
Chone Figgins has been put on the bereavement list and will not rejoin the team until Friday, according to the Los Angeles Times. His father suffered a stroke, and he went to Florida to attend to him.

Our View: Figgins will only miss a couple of games, but be sure to make the appropriate lineup changes to fill in for him while he is gone.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 7/12, 8:29 AM CT
Chone Figgins' father has suffered a stroke and the Angels' star will head home Saturday to attend to his family, according to the OC Register.

Our View: It is uncertain, but Figgins could potentially be away from the team through the weekend. Adjust your lineups accordingly.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 7/12, 12:05 AM CT
Chone Figgins went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and an RBI on Friday. His lone hit was his first triple of the season.

Our View: First?! It appears that turning 30 has slowed Figgins down quite a bit as he has taken a hit in the stolen base category as well. He is sitting on 16 stolen bases.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 7/5, 11:10 PM CT
Chone Figgins had three hits on Saturday night breaking a stretch of 2-for-25 since June 25th.

Our View: Figgins is just trying to get healthy since it's tough enough to play this game when your at 100%. He is line to have a big second half if he can stay out of the doctors office.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/27, 8:17 PM CT
Chone Figgins was scratched from Friday's lineup because of a cut on his knee that is showing signs of infection, according to the OC Register.

Our View: Figgins was prescribed antibiotics on Thursday, but skipper Mike Scioscia said it did not look good when he came to the ball park for the start of the three-game set against the Dodgers.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/13, 11:47 PM CT
Chone Figgins, who missed 33 of the Angels' previous 34 games because of an injured right hamstring, went 1-for-2 with two walks in his first game back from his second stint on the disabled list.

Our View: Figgins lead off and played third base in his return to the starting lineup.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/13, 7:59 PM CT
Chone Figgins, who was activated from the disabled list today, is in the starting lineup tonight when the Angels host the Atlanta Braves.

Our View: Figgins was 2-for-10 during his rehab assignment and should be safe to activate for Fantasy Week 12.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/13, 11:25 AM CT
Chone Figgins has been activated from the DL, according to ESPN.com. Brandon Wood was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake as an adjoining move.

Our View: He will be placed back into the Angels' lineup, and should return to your roto-lineups as well. Hopefully he can put his hamstring issues behind him this time.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 6/12, 2:23 PM CT
Chone Figgins is expected to be activated from the DL on Friday, according to the AP. Brandon Wood is set to be optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake to make room on the roster.

Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/11, 4:30 PM CT
Angels infielder Chone Figgins may return from the disabled list on Friday, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Angels currently have Figgins working on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake with the third game of that work being played tonight. If things go well and Figgins experiences no setbacks, the Angels intend to activate him on Friday. Figgins is on the disabled list for the second time this season as he tries to recover from a strained right hamstring. The third baseman initially suffered the injury May 3 while sliding into home against the Orioles. He was activated from the DL on May 21 in Toronto without going out on a rehab assignment, played one game and ultimately returned to the DL on May 30.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/10, 7:44 PM CT
Chone Figgins will play seven innings in a Triple-A rehab game on Tuesday night, the Orange County Register notes. The third baseman is on his way back from a sore right hamstring and could be back on Friday.

Our View: It's a good start. We won't exhale until Figgins actually makes it through three games unharmed. Keep in mind that Chone already came back once from this injury.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 6/9, 8:26 AM CT
Manager Mike Sciosca stated that Chone Figgins will play a minimum of three games during his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake, according to the LA Times. Figgins said, "I'm ready to play. I'm tired of this, man. Eating hamburgers and hot dogs and watching games, it's killing me." He is recovering from right hamstring irritation.

Our View: Figgins will start with five innings at third base tonight and will work his way up to eight or nine innings Wednesday. He could return by the end of the week, barring a setback.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 6/8, 8:24 AM CT
Chone Figgins on Saturday repeated his baserunning workout from Friday, going from first to third and first to home aggressively, according to the LA Times. Figgins, who is recovering from right hamstring irritation, will probably begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Our View: You always worry about a guy who relies so much on his legs how he'll come back from a hamstring injury, though Figgy has said he'll go all out once he returns.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/7, 8:30 PM CT
Chone Figgins (hamstring) will likely begin his minor league rehab assignment on Monday for Triple-A Salt Lake City, according to MLB.com. "Figgy worked out early today," Scioscia said. "He ran the bases, did different workouts. He feels good. If he comes out of it OK, he'll be ready for a rehab assignment on Monday. Izzy will go to Salt Lake."

Our View: The Angels offense has been greatly hindered by injuries to Figgins, Vlad Guerrero and Howie Kendrick limiting their overall effectiveness. It will be interesting to see if Figgins curtails his running once he is activated, hopefully by the end of next week.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/6, 11:22 PM CT
Chone Figgins ran the bases for the second time Friday and "didn't feel anything," according to MLB.com. "There was no pain today," Figgins said. "It felt good. Tuesday when I ran [in Seattle] it felt a little sore -- sometimes when I ran." Manager Mike Scioscia said Figgins wasn't quite ready to play in rehab games but thinks that could happen "early next week -- and he'll probably start at [Class A] Rancho [Cucamonga], since it's closer." Figgins is coming back from a right hamstring injury.

Our View: The Halos haven't been missing Figgy lately with Maicer Izturis' play, but they'll certainly welcome the speedster back to the lineup.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/4, 3:08 PM CT
Chone Figgins, who is battling right hamstring irritation, is not expected to begin his rehab assignment this weekend, according to the Orange County Register. Figgins said he ran the bases before Tuesday’s game and was a little sore in the ailing area of his hamstring. Coach Mike Sciosca said, "He’s probably not progressing enough to be in games this weekend but he’s definitely moving in the right direction."

Our View: Figgins wants to get the soreness out before he plays again. He doesn't want to resume playing, just to have to sit out some more due to soreness. Fantasy owners shall remain patient.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/3, 8:04 AM CT
Chone Figgins, who is slowly recovering from his right hamstring ailment, ran on Monday for the first time in more than a week, and could start a minor league rehab assignment as soon as this weekend, according to the LA Times. Figgins said, "It's a little sore, but I want to see if that's from not doing anything for a while or from the injury."

Our View: Figgins is eligible to return from the DL on June 6. This was a good step for him, and hopefully he won't regress from here.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 5/30, 7:55 PM CT
Chone Figgins has landed back on the 15-day DL due to irritation in his ailing right hamstring, according to the AP. Manager Mike Sciosca said, "He’s feeling much better, but he’s not ready to run yet. Hopefully during the weekend, we’ll get to the point where he can get out there and run, and that will be the first step toward getting him back into baseball activities." To fill his spot on the roster, the team activated Howie Kendrick from the DL.

Our View: The move is retroactive to May 22, meaning he will be eligible to return June 6.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/29, 1:35 PM CT
Chone Figgins missed his seventh straight game on Wednesday due to his ailing hamstring, and manager Mike Scioscia stated the Angels will make a decision by Friday whether to place him back on the DL, according to CBSsports.com.

Our View: If he does go back on the shelf, the move would be retroactive to May 22, meaning he would be eligible to return June 6. We will keep you posted on his status.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/27, 8:32 AM CT
Chone Figgins may go back on the DL, according to the LA Times. Figgins played one game before aggravating his right hamstring injury, and he has not played in the five games since. That missed time would count if the Angels put him back on the DL, so they could activate him as early as June 6. Manager Mike Sciosca said, "We're going to have to make a decision in the next couple days. He's making progress, but we're into day five now, so he'd have to make some significant progress in the next couple days."

Our View: Figgins was more concerned about getting healthy for good than about a possible return to the DL. He noted that the artificial turf in Toronto in the one game he played irritated the hamstring, and that he did not know when he might return. Figgins has never had a hamstring injury before now.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 5/26, 9:26 AM CT
Chone Figgins is expected to miss several more games due to soreness in his right leg, according to the LA Times. Manager Mike Sciosca said, "He's getting better, but he's still not where he needs to be." Figgins added, "Tests in Toronto and Chicago showed that the strength is still good, it's just tender."

Our View: He missed his fourth straight game on Sunday and did not play over the weekend, as was previously expected.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 5/24, 6:28 PM CT
Chone Figgins missed his third straight game Saturday because of a strained right hamstring, according to the AP.

Our View: Figgins was expected to play at some point this weekend. Well, there's only one day left, so we'll see if he's back in there Sunday.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 5/23, 10:41 PM CT
Chone Figgins was out of the lineup Friday for the second straight day after his right hamstring flared up on him in the series against the Blue Jays, according to the AP. He is expected to play at some point this weekend.

Our View: Robb Quinlan started at the hot corner in place of Figgy and went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 5/23, 9:03 AM CT
Chone Figgins blamed the Rogers Centre turf on his right leg soreness. The third baseman was unable to play on Thursday, although it was a scheduled day off. "That turf did a little deal on me," Figgins tells the Los Angeles Times. "It doesn't give. At home, when I was running, it wasn't sore at all." He recently completed a DL stint due to a sore right hamstring.

Our View: Figgins isn't headed back to the DL or even necessarily slated to sit on Friday, but fantasy owners may need to wonder every time the Angels head to a stadium with turf.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/22, 7:16 PM CT
Angels third baseman Chone Figgins is out of the starting lineup tonight at LA faces the Toronto Blue Jays, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Figgins is feeling soreness in his right leg. The team believes he has not re-injured the hamstring injury and expects Figgins back in the lineup on Friday.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/21, 4:31 PM CT
The Angels activated Chone Figgins from the DL today to replace the injured Erick Aybar on the roster.

Our View: Robb Quinlan and Matt Brown, who played third most of the time while Figgins was out, will go back to bench duty.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/21, 10:06 AM CT
Chone Figgins could be on the Chicago White Sox radar, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. A source close to the situation said that Chicago GM Kenny Williams started sending out feelers more than two weeks ago to teams that had leadoff hitters also capable of playing second base, and speculation is that his interest in Figgins has grown. Williams said, "Figgins? That's an interesting name. I'm talking about the guys that will ultimately be available, and I don't know if they will be any better than what we already got. Again, the key phrase being that they will ultimately be available. Not that I can't sit here and play the fantasy game. Hell, I can play that game and come up with a bunch of people. Reality, that's the game I have to deal in."

Our View: Further evidence that Figgins could be expendable is that while the Sox were in Los Angeles playing the Angels last week, there was whispers that the Angels would make a hard push for free agent-to-be Joe Crede when the season ends. Figgins would add more speed to Chicago's lineup as he had 11 stolen bases over 32 games before getting hurt.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/20, 9:30 PM CT
Chone Figgins worked out with his teammates before Tuesday's game against Toronto and is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday.

Our View: Figgins has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring strain.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 5/19, 8:04 AM CT
The Angels are expected to activate Chone Figgins later this week from the disabled list. His hamstring is reportedly close to 100 percent.

Our View: Figgins probably won't rejoin the team until next weekend, and when he does don't expect to see him off and running at his normal pace. Keep him out of your Week 8 lineup and be prepared to insert him next Monday, for Week 9.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 5/17, 8:27 AM CT
Chone Figgins reportedly ran the bases at a good pace on Friday, according to the LA Daily News. He continued to test his strained right hamstring, and Manager Mike Sciosca commented, "Figgy ran the bases at a good pace and felt no indications of where he was. We'll see how long it's going to be when he's going to be able to run at 100 percent and see how he responds. Two weeks is not bad for somebody to be out where you can put him right back in. When you start getting close to three weeks, then there will probably be some things that we need to do."

Our View: Figgins is on the DL retroactive to May 4, and would be eligible to return to the lineup when the Angels begin a three-game set in Toronto on Tuesday. It remains unclear if he'll be ready to play by then or if he'll need to go on a rehab assignment before returning to the Angels.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/11, 9:07 AM CT
The Angels placed Chone Figgins on the 15-day DL on Saturday. He hasn't played since May 3 due to a strained right hamstring. "He's making progress. But not enough to where you're going to project him to play any time next week," manager Mike Scioscia explains to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View: The Angels will continue to patch together their infield while Figgins, Maicer Izturis, and Howie Kendrick are out. It's a golden opportunity for Brandon Wood and Sean Rodriguez. We'll update Figgins' status when more is known, but fantasy owners should obviously bench him for the week ahead.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/8, 9:17 AM CT
Chone Figgins is healing slower than expected, according to the LA Times. He still hasn't been able to run since straining his right hamstring while sliding at the plate against Baltimore. Figgins has resumed some baseball activities, but with the Angels off today, he won't run until Friday at the earliest. Manager Mike Sciosca said, "We'll get a little better idea after the off day where he is. He's got to get in some physical activity first before we can evaluate him. And he's not quite there yet."

Our View: Figgins was off to a strong start as he registered eight RBI, 11 stolen bases, and 18 runs over 34 games before going down. He maintained a .302 average as well. While it is disappointing that he hasn't returned yet, he will be worth the wait when he does. We will keep you posted on his status.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/6, 9:58 AM CT
Chone Figgins, who is nursing a mild hamstring strain, is expected to start running again today, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Mike Scioscia said Figgins might be available in an emergency situation Wednesday, but the manager would prefer to wait until after the off day on Thursday, putting Figgins back on the field Friday against the Rays.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 5/5, 9:13 AM CT
Chone Figgins avoided the 15-day DL Sunday, an MRI test on the infielder's right hamstring showing a mild strain, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Figgins said his hamstring felt "a lot better" on Sunday than it did Saturday. Figgins took Sunday off and probably won't test the hamstring until today or Tuesday in Kansas City. Manager Mike Sciosca said, "Within 48 hours, we should have a better idea of what direction this is going." This is good news he is not going on the DL, and fantasy owners shouldn't mind if he sits out another day or two.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/4, 2:06 PM CT
Chone Figgins will have his injured hamstring re-evaluated on Monday but said he was feeling a lot better, according to the OC Register. He said, "It’s not pulled. It’s just a slight strain."

Our View: The team recalled Sean Rodriguez from Triple-A Salt Lake to provide depth in the infield, as Maicer Izturis and Howie Kendrick are also currently out of action. We will keep you posted on Figgins' status, but his injury doesn't appear to be serious.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/4, 10:11 AM CT
Chone Figgins left Saturday's game in the eighth inning because of an apparent right hamstring injury, according to the OC Register. Figgins seemed to limp as he walked away from the plate and was replaced defensively after that inning. Figgins left the stadium immediately after the game to undergo an MRI exam. Manager Mike Sciosca commented, "With hamstrings, you're always concerned. We don't know what degree this is. We'll wait and see. Obviously we'll be cautious."

Our View: The Angels already have infielders Howie Kendrick and Maicer Izturis on the DL, and the team is likely to reach down to Triple-A Salt Lake for either Sean Rodriguez or Matt Brown. Both have already spent time with the Angels this season. We will keep you posted on Figgins' MRI results and his playing status.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 4/13, 8:05 PM CT
Chone Figgins went 2-for-5 with one run, one RBI, and two stolen bases on Sunday. He has already attempted nine steals through 13 games.

Our View: Figgins is hitting .404 and has an OBP of over .530, so he has created ample opportunity for a green light. He won't be able to keep up this pace, of course, but he's looking like a threat for over 50 steals.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 4/12, 12:36 AM CT
Chone Figgins went 1-for-2 with three walks on Friday night and he also stole his fourth base of the year (though he was also caught for the third time). Figgins has and OBP well over .500 at the moment as he continues to find a way to get on base in front of the big boppers.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 3/31, 10:59 PM CT
Chone Figgins was 2-for-4 with a double in the Angels Monday night loss to the Twins. Figgins added an RBI with a two out single in the fifth inning.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 3/25, 4:56 PM CT
Chone Figgins was held out of Tuesday's exhibition game due to some slight cramping of the muscles between the fingers of his left hand, according to the LA Times. "[Figgins] could have played today, but we'll give him a day, and he'll be ready to go Thursday," said manager Mike Scioscia. It appears it's a minor ailment that shouldn't affect his draft or auction value.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 2/16, 10:35 AM CT
Chone Figgins arrived at camp on Friday, and he is still working through a bit of rehab with his left wrist. He had surgery to remove the hook of the hamate bone in late October. "It's full go," Figgins tells MLB.com. "I didn't get my normal work in, but I've been hitting for about a month. I still get some soreness, but nothing like before."
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 10/31, 11:27 AM CT
Chone Figgins recently had surgery to remove the hamate bone from his left wrist, and his recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks, according to the LA Times. The wrist injury forced Figgins to miss two weeks in August and September. The Angels expect Figgins to be fully recovered by January 1, so there's no reason he shouldn't be ready to go when spring training opens.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/21, 10:58 AM CT
Chone Figgins took batting practice on the field from the right side Thursday for the first time since injuring his left wrist in late August, according to the LA Times. Manager Mike Scioscia said Figgins could possibly start tonight against left-hander Jarrod Washburn.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/21, 5:48 AM CT
Chone Figgins didn't play Thursday, resting his sore left wrist, the AP reports. He did take batting practice right-handed, however, and he might play Friday against Seattle lefty Jarrod Washburn.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/12, 11:38 AM CT
Chone Figgins took batting practice from the right side Tuesday for the first time since suffering a bruised left wrist, which sidelined him from Aug. 22 to Sept. 5, according to the LA Times. He also batted from the right side in the eighth inning Tuesday and reached on a bunt single. It's unclear if he's feeling well enough to start against left-handed pitchers, but if he's not, he should be very close.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/9, 6:51 AM CT
Chone Figgins returned to action Friday but was held out of the lineup on Saturday. The switch-hitter is not yet comfortable batting against left-handed pitchers, which is what the Angels faced Saturday, according to the LA Times. They have another matchup with a lefty starter Sunday, so he will remain out of the lineup again. He plans to test his sprained left wrist from the right side of the plate with batting practice Tuesday, so hopefully he'll be ready for full-time duty sometime next week.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/7, 10:05 PM CT
Chone Figgins was in the starting lineup Friday night for the first time since spraining his left wrist August 21. Figgins is still reporting some pain in the wrist, and says that he has less pain batting left handed than right handed, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Figgins was leading off and playing third base for the Angels in the game. Watch him over the weekend to see if he can play regularly again before inserting him into the lineup next week.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 9/5, 11:16 AM CT

Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/29, 4:38 AM CT

Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 8/28, 10:30 AM CT
Chone Figgins, who has missed the last five games with a wrist injury, took groundballs Monday but is still unable to swing a bat, according to the LA Times. It doesn't appear as though Figgins will be ready to return to the starting lineup until next week, although he could be used as a pinch-runner before then.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 8/27, 10:31 PM CT
Chone Figgins was out of the lineup for the fifth consecutive game on Monday after suffering a bone bruise of the wrist on a check swing Aug. 21. "Every day it feels better. "I'm now able to backhand ground balls," Figgins told the AP. "The next step is for me to swing left-handed."

Our View: He could be back as soon as this weekend. Figgins has hit safely in 32 of his past 36 games.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 8/26, 7:06 AM CT
Chone Figgins hasn't played since Tuesday due to a sore wrist. He tried to play catch on Friday but felt discomfort in the joint, according to the LA Times. Figgins had hoped to get back in the mix Monday, but that doesn't appear to be likely now.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 8/24, 10:04 AM CT
Chone Figgins' wrist is still bothering him, but he only feels pain when he hits from the right side, according to the LA Times. "It's just from not swinging much right-handed, because we don't face a lot of lefties," Figgins said. "You can do exercises, but there's a big difference when you get into games and you're swinging with real force, as I've found out." Figgins won't play this weekend, but he's hoping to return to the lineup on Monday against Seattle.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 8/23, 11:21 AM CT
Chone Figgins, who didn't play on Wednesday due to a bone bruise on his left wrist, could miss several more games with the injury, according to the LA Times. "Figgy's a tough kid, and if he winces like that, you know he feels it," Scioscia said. "He plays banged up and doesn't show it. So when he does, you're concerned." Fantasy owners should be prepared to bench the speedster until perhaps early next week.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 8/23, 4:33 AM CT

Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 6/15, 12:52 AM CT
Chone Figgins went 1-for-5 with a run scored Thursday, extending his hitting streak to 13 games. Figgins is batting .466 over the last two weeks, an encouraging run given how he struggled when he first came off the disabled list.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/31, 11:10 PM CT
Chone Figgins returned to the starting lineup Thursday after two days off. He came into the game hitting .133 and had made five errors in 25 games. "We haven't given up on Figgy as our long-term third baseman," manager Mike Scioscia told the the AP. "Right now, he just isn't into his game. We'll see if he can relax and play baseball the way he can."
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/31, 10:25 AM CT
Chone Figgins' starting job could be in jeopardy. Figgins, who's hitting just .133 on the year, got a second straight night off Wednesday, and manager Mike Scioscia didn't rule out the possibility of Erick Aybar taking over for Figgins at third base, according to the LA Times. "We still feel like Figgy has a lot to offer, and we're not going to give up on that," Scioscia said. "But we've seen what Erick can do, and if he adds depth at third base, it will only make us better." Figgins will be back in the lineup tonight.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/31, 1:36 AM CT
Chone Figgins was on the bench for the second straight game Wednesday, with Eric Aybar getting the start. Figgins has been having problems both at the plate (.133) and in the field since returning from the DL. Aybar, for what it's worth, went 0-for-3 Wednesday.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/29, 11:05 AM CT
Erick Aybar took grounders at third before Monday's game, which could mean Chone Figgins might be losing the grip on his starting job at third. Figgins is hitting just .133 (12-for-90) since returning from the DL. "We're just trying to establish more depth at third," manager Mike Scioscia said in the LA Times. "We're confident Figgy will do what he's capable of, but if we need a game or two out of Erick there, we want him to be comfortable."
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/20, 4:28 AM CT
Chone Figgins went 0-for-3 Saturday and is now in a 0-for-22 slump. He's 7-for-65 since coming off the disabled list.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/17, 11:56 PM CT
The Angels played without Chone Figgins in the lineup on Thursday. Manager Mike Scioscia said he was just resting Figgins, but he added that the third baseman was struggling right now, especially defensively on his throws, according to the AP. His offense isn't any better, as he's hit just .121 since returning from two broken fingers. Figgins may still be dealing with the digits, but at least he's still swiped a few bags.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/13, 2:17 AM CT
Chone Figgins went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Rangers. Figgins has picked up his game over the last three days, going 4-for-11 with a pair of steals; prior to that, he was mired in a 3-for-32 slump since coming off the disabled list.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 5/10, 11:47 AM CT
Chone Figgins is off to a 3-for-32 start with no stolen bases since returning to the Angels off two broken fingers, the Los Angeles Times reports. Figgins says his struggles were not a result of an insufficient minor league rehabilitation assignment or any lingering pain in his fingers. "The doctor said it's going to be sore," Figgins said. "He said you're just going to have play through it. But it feels good enough to play, for me to go out there and compete at a high level."
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 4/30, 10:10 PM CT
Chone Figgins, who has been sidelined all year with two broken fingers, was back in the lineup for the Angels on Monday against the Royals, started at third base and batting ninth. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in his return.
Chone Figgins, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 4/29, 8:34 PM CT
