Jimmy Gobble, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 3/11, 6:02 PM CT
According to the Denver Post, Jimmy Gobble exited Thursday's game with an oblique injury.

Our View: Gobble was trying to finish the ninth inning when he called for medical attention on the mound. No word on the seriousness of the injury, but this likely means Gobble, already a long-shot, won't earn a spot on the Rockies' roster this season.

Free agent reliever Jimmy Gobble has signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies.

Our View: After posting an incredibly bad 8.81 ERA in 31.2 innings for the Royals in 2008, he wasn't much better in 2009, posting a 7.50 one in 12 innings for the White Sox. His chances of making the Rockies appear slim.

The Indians are believed to be interested in reliever Jimmy Gobble, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Gobble was designated for assignment by the division rival White Sox earlier in the week. If signed by Cleveland, his fantasy value would not likely improve. He holds a 7.50 ERA and 1.75 WHIP over 12 innings of relief with Chicago.

The Northwest Herald is reporting that the White Sox have designated pitcher Jimmy Gobble for assignment. Gobble pitched 12 innings for the Sox this season, compiling a 7.50 ERA in the process.

Our View: The White Sox signed Gobble to a minor league deal after his release from Texas, but he didn't show the team enough to keep him around on the roster. He will have no fantasy value this season, and he will most likely never be a fantasy relevant pitcher in this league.

Jimmy Gobble has been recalled from Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox, according to the Chicago Tribune. Jose Contreras was sent down to Charlotte as the corresponding move.

Our View: Clayton Richard will replace Contreras in the rotation for Wednesday's start against the Indians, and Gobble will provide depth in the bullpen. Gobble should not be considered for fantasy rosters.

Jimmy Gobble, who was released by Texas earlier in the week, signed a minor league deal with the White Sox on Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Gobble, 27, will open the season in Triple-A Charlotte but could find himself up in the big leagues at some point this year if Chicago find itself in need of a left-handed arm out of the bullpen.

The Rangers have released Jimmy Gobble from his minor league contract, according to MLB-Blogs.com.

Our View: The club simply did not have room for another lefty in their pen with Eddie Guardado and C.J. Wilson.

MLB.com reports that the Rangers have signed pitcher Jimmy Gobble to a minor-league contract.

Our View: Gobble, who was recently released by Kansas City, where he compiled a 0-2 record and 8.81 ERA in 39 games in 2008, is expected to compete for a bullpen spot in Texas.

Jimmy Gobble has been cut by the Royals, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View: The move allows the Royals to save more than $1.1MM even if the 27-year-old hurler goes unclaimed through waivers.

The Kansas City Star reports that the Royals avoided arbitration with pitcher Jimmy Gobble on Monday. The left-handed reliever signed a one-year contract.

Our View: Despite holding left-handed hitters to a .200 average, Gobble posted an 8.81 ERA over 31.2 innings last season. He finished the year strong with seven shutout appearances. He holds no fantasy value

Royals pitcher Jimmy Gobble will be called up from his rehab assignment when the team resumes play on Tuesday, according to the Kansas City Star. Also to be recalled is pitcher John Bale and first baseman Ryan Shealy.

Our View: Gobble has been horrendous in his 24.2 innings of relief, sporting a ghastly 11.31 ERA and 2.27 WHIP. Putting him on a fantasy roster may be just a bit unwise.

Jimmy Gobble, who is recovering from a strained lower back, allowed five runs in just 1.2 innings of work Saturday in a rehab start for Triple-A Omaha at Oklahoma, according to the KC Star. He issued four walks, and only threw 28 strikes out of 58 pitches.

Our View: Gobble struggled with 31 earned runs and 22 walks allowed over 24.2 innings with the Royals this season, and is not worth waiting for as a middle reliever.

The Royals placed reliever Jimmy Gobble on the disabled list before Tuesday’s game against Detroit because of a strained lower back, reports the Kansas City Star.

Our View: The Royals replaced Gobble by recalling reliever Joel Peralta from Class AAA Omaha.

Jimmy Gobble posted one of the ugliest lines of the season on Monday. He served up seven hits and 10 runs over one inning of work against the Tigers. Gobble walked four batters and threw 45 pitches.

Our View: Gobble has been awful since the middle of May, but he took it to another level on Monday night. Would you believe that his last 17 appearances have all come in Royals' losses? Maybe that's not a coincidence.
