Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 9/27, 3:02 PM CT
Brian Tallet kept the Blue Jays in the game on Sunday, pitching seven innings of three-run ball, as Toronto rallied late for a 5-4 win over Seattle.

Our View: It was the first time Tallet had pitched seven innings since June 9. At age 32 with a 5.32 ERA, he likely doesn't figure into Toronto's 2010 plans.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 9/22, 9:43 PM CT
Brian Tallet was roughed up for five earned runs on 11 hits over 6.1 innings in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Orioles at the Rogers Centre. He had no walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Tallet was handed a no-decision for his poor performance. He has allowed four or more earned runs in three of his five starts this month.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 9/16, 9:27 PM CT
Brian Tallet exited tonight's start against the Yankees after getting struck on the foot by a comebacker from Robinson Cano, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Tallet sustained a bruised foot, and was replaced on the hill by Shawn Camp.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 9/11, 9:40 PM CT
Brian Tallet gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits over 6.1 innings in Friday's 6-4 win at Toronto. He had two walks and fired seven strikeouts.

Our View: This was a solid performance for Tallet, as he improved his record to 7-9. He bounced back well after giving up four or more earned runs in each of his last two starts this month.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 9/6, 5:06 PM CT
Brian Tallet wasn't sharp on Sunday, allowing five runs in five innings, but got handed 12 runs of early run support, as the Blue Jays beat the Yankees 14-8 at home.

Our View: Tallet, at 6-9 with a 5.31 ERA, is not a good spot-starting option in mixed leagues.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 9/1, 10:46 PM CT
Brian Tallet was tagged for four earned runs on six hits over five innings in Tuesday's 5-2 loss at Texas in the nightcap of their doubleheader. He had four walks and four strikeouts, and gave up two homers.

Our View: Tallet was dealt a loss for his poor outing, and falls to 5-9 with a 5.17 ERA. He has not earned a win since June 23, when he fired six scoreless innings in interleague play against the Reds.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 8/15, 10:52 PM CT
Brian Tallet was rocked for five earned runs on 10 hits over 5.2 innings in Saturday's 8-3 loss at Tampa Bay. He had two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Tallet suffered his seventh loss of 2009 while making a spot-start in place of the injured Brett Cecil (knee). He should move back to his role in the bullpen, especially following tonight's poor performance.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 8/15, 5:03 PM CT
Brian Tallet is slated to make a spot-start in place of the ailing Brett Cecil (knee) tonight at Tampa Bay, according to TSN.

Our View: Tallet has a 4.85 ERA over 118.2 innings (18 starts) with the Jays this season, and has a 13.00 ERA over two starts against the Rays. He is only an option for deeper fantasy leagues.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 8/8, 3:57 PM CT
Brian Tallet took over for the injured Brett Cecil in the fifth inning Saturday, but he did not factor into the decision in the Jays' 3-2, ten inning win. Tallet went five innings and did not allow a run while walking one and striking out four.

Our View: Tallet was excellent today in his five innings of relief, and the Jays wouldn't have won if it wasn't for him. Tallet may be in line to rejoin the rotation if Cecil is forced to miss a start, and he might be worth an add in AL-only leagues if he does.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 7/8, 10:32 PM CT
Brian Tallet got destroyed by the Rays on Wednesday. He allowed eight runs on 11 hits and two walks before getting yanked after just three innings of work. He didn't factor in the decision though as the Rays won the game in walk off fashion 10-9.

Our View: Tallet has been decent this season, but his stats have been marred by two outings (Wednesday's game included) where he allowed eight runs in just three innings.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 7/6, 10:51 AM CT
According to Jon Paul Morosi of FoxSports.com, the Blue Jays may look to trade pitcher Brian Tallet if they fall out of contention before the trade deadline. Tallet is 5-6 with a 4.38 ERA this season.

Our View: The Jays seem to be in excellent shape regarding their rotation next season, considering they have three potential starters who are currently on the DL that are expected back in 2010. The team may try to get something for Tallet while they can, because it is unlikely he will return as a starter next season.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 7/3, 3:41 PM CT
Brian Tallet was decent on Friday afternoon, but he was hit with the loss as the Jays fell to the Yankees 4-2. Tallet went six innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking four and striking out three.

Our View: Tallet didn't dominate today, but he was pretty good. Unfortunately, A.J. Burnett was better. Tallet has been decently solid this season, and he is a good AL-only option.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 6/28, 3:45 PM CT
Brian Tallet allowed 14 base runners in six innings on Sunday and took the loss as the Blue Jays fell to the Phillies 5-4.

Our View: Tallet gave up eight hits and walked a stomach-turning six batters. He allowed four earned runs, fell to 5-5 on the season and raised his ERA to 4.47. There are likely more stable fantasy options available on the waiver wire in most leagues.

Brian Tallet was dominant in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Reds at the Rogers Centre, as he only allowed three hits over six scoreless innings. He issued one walk and fired seven strikeouts.

Our View: Tallet now has a winning record at 5-4, and only gave up one earned run over his last two starts (11 innings). He is worth employing in fantasy lineups for his next trip to the mound.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 6/19, 10:40 PM CT
Brian Tallet only allowed one earned run on five hits over five innings in Friday's 2-1 loss at Washington. He issued three walks with no strikeouts.

Our View: Tallet pitched well tonight, but unfortunately had to settle for a no-decision due to poor run support from his teammates. His record remains even a 4-4.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 6/9, 11:39 PM CT
Brian Tallet only allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings in Tuesday's 9-0 win at Texas. He had two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: He earned his fourth win and bounced back well from his previous outing in which he gave up five runs to the Angels.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 6/4, 2:50 PM CT
Brian Tallet struggled on Thursday in the Blue Jays' 6-5 loss to the Angels. Tallet went six innings and allowed five runs on six hits while walking three and striking out six. He did not factor into the decision.

Our View: Tallet escaped a loss today thanks to his offense. He left the game with his team trailing 5-1, but they managed to tie it up at five before losing in the ninth. Tallet has been consistent but unremarkable so far this season, and his fantasy value is average at best.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 5/30, 3:11 PM CT
Brian Tallet improved to 3-3 as the Blue Jays beat the Red Sox 5-3 on Saturday. He gave up three runs on three hits and four walks, while striking out six.

Our View: This turned out better than perhaps it should have. Not only did he walk four batters, but he gave up 11 fly balls against just three groundballs. However, he does a fairly good job of limiting the damage. In nine of his 10 starts he has allowed three runs or less. The left-hander's consistency should keep him in the rotation throughout the season.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 5/25, 3:45 PM CT
Brian Tallet allowed two earned runs on seven hits over six innings of work in Monday's 4-1 loss at Baltimore. He issued two walks with five strikeouts.

Our View: It was a solid outing for Tallet, but he was unfortunately dealt a loss due to poor run support from his teammates. He now has a losing record at 2-3, and is winless over his last three starts.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 5/19, 8:54 PM CT
Brian Tallet's bad luck continued on Tuesday as he took the loss in the Blue Jays' 2-1 defeat. Tallet went six innings and allowed two runs on four hits while walking two and striking out five.

Our View: This guy can't buy a break at this point. He keeps putting up good starts, but he can't seem to get himself a win. He is worth a look in AL-only leagues for sure, and if you pick him up just keep hoping his luck changes.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 5/14, 9:49 PM CT
Brian Tallet pitched well again for the Blue Jays on Thursday, but once again he did not factor into the decision as the Jays fell to the Yankees 3-2. Tallet went sic innings and allowed two runs on four hits with five walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Tallet has been hit with some tough luck lately, and it contiuned tonight. He hasn't been dominant, but he has been pretty good. It is probably worth the chance to take a look at him in AL-only leagues, as you have to think his luck will change.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 5/4, 11:16 PM CT
Brian Tallet was pretty good on Monday, going 7 innings and allowing three runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out five, but his bullpen couldn't finish the game off.

Our View: Tallet was good tonight and he should have had a win. He has been average this season, but if he stays in the rotation he has value in AL-only leagues.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 4/29, 11:21 PM CT
Brian Tallet was rocked for 11 hits, three walks, and 10 earned runs as the Blue Jays fell 11-3 to the Royals on Wednesday.

Our View: With Zach Greinke tossing for the Royals and Tallet going for the Blue Jays, there was likely a lot of smart money on the Royals tonight. Tallet may be the first pitcher removed from the rotation once other starters start coming of the DL.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 4/24, 10:43 PM CT
Brian Tallet picked up his first win of the season on Friday, going 5.2 innings of shutout ball. He gave up four hits while walking three and striking out five.

Our View: Tallet is still in the rotation after a slew of injuries to the Jays' rotation, nd he did his job tonight. It didn't hurt that his team gave him 14 runs of support. Tallet may have some value in AL-only leagues if he stays in the rotation for an extended period of time.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 4/18, 4:57 PM CT
Brian Tallet scattered four hits and a walk over 5.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on Saturday in the Blue Jay's 4-2, extra-inning victory.

Our View: Tallet got the emergency start in place of the injured Jesse Litsch. He fared well, but likely won't be used much after today. He has no real fantasy value.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 4/14, 2:21 PM CT
Sportsnet.ca reports that reliever Brian Tallet will get a spot start in Saturday's game against the A's. The spot is open after the Jays placed Jesse Litsch on the DL on Tuesday.

Our View: Tallet is starting on Saturday, but it will probably be a one time deal. No real fantasy impact here.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 2/5, 10:04 AM CT
The Jays have avoided salary arbitration with Brian Tallet by signing the reliever to a one-year deal worth $1.015MM, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: The 31-year-old vet held a 1.31 WHIP over 56.1 innings of relief in 2008, with 47 strikeouts. He holds value in deeper leagues that feature middle men.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 8/15, 11:50 PM CT
The Blue Jays activated Brian Tallet from the DL Friday. He had been out with a fractured toe.

Our View: Scott Richmond was sent down to make room for Tallet.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 7/28, 11:22 AM CT
Brian Tallet has been placed on the 15-day DL due to a fractured toe, according to the AP. The team recalled Scott Richmond from Triple-A Syracuse as the corresponding move.

Our View: Tallet held little fantasy value this season as he maintained a 3.03 ERA over 38.2 innings of relief.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 7/9, 8:54 PM CT
Rototimes sources report that Brian Tallet will replace Dustin McGowan in the Blue Jays starting rotation. Tallet will start Sunday versus the New York Yankees.

Our View: Tallet has made 32 appearances this year. In 35 innings of work the left-hander has allowed 11 earned runs on 32 hits, walked 15 and struck out 30. All of his work has been in relief.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 5/22, 1:44 PM CT
Brian Tallet is quietly pitching great as he has not allowed an earned run over his last 11 innings of work, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Tallet holds a solid 1.22 WHIP and a 1.27 ERA over 21.1 innings, with 20 strikeouts. He is yet to notch any wins or saves, but is a valuable contributor to the Jays' bullpen. His fantasy value remains limited, however.
Brian Tallet, P, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 3/19, 6:01 PM CT
Brian Tallet nailed down a spot in the Jay's bullpen, according to MLB.com. He threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts on Wednesday and Manager Gibbons commented, "He's not going anywhere. Oh, yeah. He's here. He's not going anywhere. He's earned it."
