Tyler Walker, P, Washington NationalsMonday 1/25, 4:39 PM CT
Tyler Walker has signed a one-year deal with the Nationals, according to Ken Rosenthal's (FOX Sports) twitter page. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the deal is pending a physical.

Our View: The 33-year-old reliever holds a career 4.32 ERA in the majors. He will add some depth to Washington's bullpen, but his fantasy value will remain low.

Tyler Walker has been recalled by the Phillies from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, according to the Associated Press. J.C. Romero was placed on the DL as the adjoining move.

Our View: The 33-year-old reliever holds a career 4.39 ERA, but has a 1.64 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 11 innings with the Phillies in 2009. He is worth a look for deeper fantasy leagues that feature middle men.

Tyler Walker has cleared waivers and accepted an assignment to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.

Our View: Walker actually pitched pretty well in nine appearances for the Phils this season, posting a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings. He only struck out five batters, though, and didn't record any holds, severely limiting his value in leagues with middle relievers.

According to MLB.com writer Todd Zolecki's Twitter page, the Phillies have designated reliever Tyler Walker for assignment.

Our View: Walker was cleared to make room for Clay Condrey, but the reliever had a 1.64 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP over 11 innings with the big club. He shined in Triple-A as well, so there's no reason to think someone won't be interested in his services.

The Phillies called up Tyler Walker from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday to take the roster spot of Sergio Escalona according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Walker has yet to pitch in 2009 and is not a fantasy option at this time.

Our View: Walker held a 1.28 WHIP over 53.1 innings with the Giants last season, and the 32-year-old vet could see action in the Phillies' bullpen at some point this season, depending on injuries.

Tyler Walker has been released by the Mariners, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View: He allowed three earned runs over 5.2 spring innings, and he was unable to earn a spot in the Mariners' bullpen. He was hindered by pain in his upper right side.

Reliever Tyler Walker is scheduled to take the mound when the Mariners play on Thursday, MLB.com reports. Walker has been out due to pain in his upper right side. He suffered the injury when he coughed. Walker was cleared after a solid bullpen session on Monday.

Our View: Walker would have been a candidate for the wide-open closer's role if he had pitcher well this spring, but that hasn't been the case. This injury was minor, but it was enough to seemingly kick him out of that race. He now needs to come out and solidify a roster spot.

The AP reports that Tyler Walker is a strong candidate for the closer's job in Seattle. He threw a scoreless inning on Monday against the White Sox.

Our View: Walker is huge - like 262 pounds huge - and he knows how to strike out hitters. The 33-year-old saw a lot of setup work with the Giants last season, and that's probably what he is destined for this season in Seattle.

Tyler Walker returned from a sore right knee on Friday and gave up a three-run shot to the Cubs' Aramis Ramirez at Wrigley. The hit allowed Walker to take his fifth loss of the season.

Our View: Although he is a decent source of holds, Walker's home run rate causes him to be ineffective even in deep league formats that count the stat. His ERA has now ballooned to an even 5.00.

Tyler Walker's MRI results on his right knee revealed inflammation and no structural damage, according to the SF Chronicle. He said, "I feel a lot better about things."

Tyler Walker was removed from the Giants versus Dodgers game on Saturday night as he appeared to re-aggravate his a troublesome groin injury.

Our View: The Giants post-game radio wrap up said that Walker tweaked his knee, but either way he could be headed to the DL as the Giants need arms in the pen right now.

Our View: The San Francisco club is also rumored to be seeking offers from Erick Threets and Brad Hennessey, working in the minors, but are wanting to retain Brian Wilson as the team's closer. We will update if more news comes of this scenario.
