Terrmel Sledge is heading east. Really, really far east. The outfielder agreed to a two-year, $2.85 million deal with the Nippon Ham Fighters of the Japan Pacific League. Sledge hit .210 with seven homers and 23 RBI in 200 at-bats with the Padres in 2007. "I'm going to miss the San Diego Padres," Sledge said in the San Diego Union-Tribune. "That's a great organization from top to bottom." Sledge said he hopes to come back to the majors in a few years.
