Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 1/6, 9:33 AM CT
The San Diego Padres are not expected to add any big pieces this offseason, and will instead focus on cheaper, more under-the-radar type players, according to MLB.com

Our View: So in other words, everything is normal in San Diego this offsesaon. The club is said to covet infielder/outfielder Jerry Hairston Jr. and outfielder Randy Winn. While neither have a ton of pop, they are both proven hitters with solid all-around games (speed, defense, plate discipline). They won't change the landscape of the National League west, but they could help 2010 from being an embarrassment for the Friars.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 1/4, 9:02 AM CT
Padres general managed Jed Hoyer recently reiterated that the team has no plans to trade star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez this offseason, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Any speculation you hear on the matter for the rest of the winter is likely just wishful thinking on behalf of the Boston media. Don't expect trade talks for San Diego's franchise first baseman to heat up again until next summer.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 12/31, 1:55 PM CT
ESPN.com reports that the Padres are likely to trade Adrian Gonzalez at next season's trade deadline. He will command an impressive package of players and the more teams that are eyeing the playoffs, the better possible deal.

Our View: The Padres are wise to wait, assuming that Gonzalez plays up to his standards to start next season. There are too many free-agent bats available now that have teams holding back their best possible offers.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 12/30, 10:36 AM CT
Despite all the trade rumors, the Padres have actually had preliminary discussions with first baseman Adrian Gonzalez about a contract extension, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

Our View: However, Olney doesn't consider an extension with the Pads very likely. Gonzalez is locked up in San Diego through 2011.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 12/25, 9:18 AM CT
It would be "virtually impossible" for the Padres to trade star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez before July, according to Peter Gammons on WEEI.

Our View: Most believe the Pads could get considerably more at next summer's trading deadline for Gonzalez than they could in the relative calm of the offseason. Stay tuned.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 12/20, 3:10 PM CT
FOXsports.com indicates that the Padres would be able to get more in return for Adrian Gonzalez at July's trade deadline rather than this offseason.

Our View: The article writes that now interested GMs have the option of adding first basemen via free agency so they don't feel as desperate to part with their top prospects in return for Gonzalez. The Padres seem reluctant to part with him this winter and they would be wise to hold onto him until July.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 12/19, 4:27 PM CT
GM Jed Hoyer won't "never say never" regarding moving Adrian Gonzalez, according to the Padres' official twitter page.

Our View: MLB writer Corey Brock does not believe the elite first baseman will be traded though, as it would likely take a significant deal to ship him out of San Diego.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 12/17, 4:38 PM CT
Padres owner Jeff Moorad says "there's nothing active, there's nothing on the table," in regards to Adrian Gonzalez trade talks, according to Corey Brock of MLB.com.

Our View: Much of the Gonzalez trade talk has seemed to be the wishful thinking on behalf of the Boston media, and while A-Gone may indeed one day be traded, with him being under contract for two more very cheap years, it will likely be somewhere further down the line.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 12/16, 11:05 PM CT
The Orioles have apparently thrown their hat into the Adrian Gonzalez sweepstakes, according to Gordon Edes of ESPN.

Our View: They made a "pretty good run at him" during the winter meetings, Edes says. Recent reports have suggested the Pads aren't inclined to deal him, but if they were, it would most likely be to the Red Sox. Stay tuned.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 12/16, 12:24 PM CT
A source close to Adrian Gonzalez believes the Padres slugger will be headed to Boston within the next 10 days, according to ESPN's Jorge Arangure.

Our View: The Red Sox have already signed Mike Cameron and made an even bigger splash by landing John Lackey, and a potential acquisition of Gonzalez would put the icing on the cake on their offseason activity. A trade between Boston and San Diego is still far from actually happening, but this potential deal does seem to be picking up some momentum, so stay tuned. It's unknown exactly what pieces Boston would include in the deal, though Clay Buchholz would likely be involved.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 12/16, 9:24 AM CT
Boston's front office continues to work hard to try and work out a deal for Adrian Gonzalez, according to Fox Sports.

Our View: The interest is clearly there on Boston's side, though no deal is imminent at the moment. Stay tuned, as Gonzalez could be in line for a major boost in value if he indeed leaves San Diego's spacious home ball park and weak lineup to be surrounded by Boston's loaded supporting cast.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 12/14, 7:51 PM CT
As of now, talks between the Padres and Red Sox regarding Adrian Gonzalez are not progressing, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: San Diego desires Clay Buchholz and pitching prospect Casey Kelly or outfielder Ryan Westmoreland in exchange for the star first baseman - but Boston is not willing to part with those players.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 12/10, 11:59 AM CT
Updating an earlier item, ESPN's Jayson Stark says that while the Padres will "listen" to any offer for star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, they have shown "no motivation to trade him."

Our View: Sounds about right. Gonzalez is still young, productive and affordable, making him a perfect small market player. The team may be forced to deal him eventually, but his market should only continue to increase in size, so there is no need for a sense of urgency.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 12/10, 11:19 AM CT
The Mariners have entered the Adrian Gonzalez sweepstakes, according to Fox Sports.

Our View: However, just in an exploratory fashion. Talks are currently not "advancing toward a deal." While Gonzalez is still said to be available "in the right deal," his most likely 2010 destination is the one he is already at.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 12/6, 2:05 PM CT
Corey Brock of MLB.com does not believe that Adrian Gonzalez will get traded at baseball's annual winter meetings this week.

Our View: Good news for Padres fans, and he says he believes it's unlikely he'll get traded at all this offseason. He does expect the Pads to make some moves this week, however, and did not rule Heath Bell getting moved. Stay tuned.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 12/6, 9:41 AM CT
The Chicago Tribune reports that both Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and closer Heath Bell could both be traded at this week's winter meetings.

Our View: A flurry of activity is expected in Indianapolis, and there should be a frenzy over San Diego's affordable, franchise first baseman if he is truly avaialble. Expect many more updates as the week ambles on.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 11/27, 9:14 AM CT
Chad Finn of the Boston Globe predics that Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez will be playing first and batting third for the Red Sox on opening day in 2010.

Our View: This is certainly a story that refuses to die, likely lending credence to the old cliche "where there's smoke, there's fire." Like an only child with rich, loving parents, what Boston wants, Boston usually gets, so if they decide this offseason that A-Gone is theirs, then he will be theirs.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 11/8, 10:49 AM CT
It would take a knockout offer to entice the Padres to trade Adrian Gonzalez this offseason, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Our View: Rosenthal says it would probably take major league players, and not just prospects. With Gonzalez having two extremely affordable years left on his contract, it's highly unlikely he'll be moved this winter.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 10/4, 12:04 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Padres 2-0 win over the Giants on Saturday.

Our View: A-Gon now has 99 RBI this season and needs one tally in tomorrow's regular season finale to reach his third consecutive season with 100.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 9/27, 8:16 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez cracked his 40th home run of the season in a 7-4 loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday. He finished the day 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Our View: The 40-homer campaign is the first of the young slugger's career and he is just two RBI away from his third straight season of reaching the century mark.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 9/27, 12:00 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks in the Padres 8-5 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Our View: Gonzalez is enjoying a fine month of September to cap another solid season in San Diego. With one more home run and four more RBI he'll reach the 40-100 mark for the first time in his impressive young career. He also reached the 100-walk plateau for the first time in 2009 with 110.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 9/25, 11:41 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI in tonight's 4-0 win at Arizona.

Our View: Gonzalez has 19 RBI this month, and continues to lead the Padres with 95. He is trying to reach 100 RBI for the third straight season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 9/22, 11:41 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI in the Padres 11-10 nail-biting loss to the Rockies on Tuesday.

Our View: A-Gon is finishing the season on a high note. He's already driven in 17 this month, popped five homers and scored 12 runs. Not bad for the lone soldier in San Diego's offense.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 9/21, 10:19 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer off Daniel McCutchen in Monday's 11-6 win at Pittsburgh. The battle lasted 12 innings.

Our View: Gonzalez swatted his fifth homer of September, and his 39th of 2009. He is on the verge of reaching 40 homers in a season for the first time in his career.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 9/18, 9:25 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 0-for-3 with an RBI in tonight's 5-1 loss at Pittsburgh. His RBI came on a sacrifice fly.

Our View: The Padres only mustered six hits, and the star first baseman was their lone source of scoring. He has 12 RBI this month, and leads San Diego with 89.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/16, 6:29 PM CT
Pinch hitting in the ninth inning of his day off on Wednesday, Adrian Gonzalez delivered a game-tying two run homer, spurring the Padres to a 6-5 ten-inning win over Arizona at home.

Our View: The homer upped his career-high 2009 total to 38, while the two RBI leave him 12 short of his third straight 100-RBI campaign with 15 games to go.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/16, 3:56 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez got the day off on Wednesday for the Padres. Gonzalez is dealing with some soreness in his shoulder, but he is expected to be fine for the team's next game.

Our View: Nothing to worry about here. The team is off tomorrow, so they took advantage by giving their best player the day off today as well. He should be in the lineup Friday, so make sure he is in your lineup.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 9/13, 7:03 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-5 in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Rockies. He recorded a single, double and triple, but was missing the home run for the always entertaining cycle.

Our View: Gonzalez is hitting .317 this month and has hit three homers while driving in nine. He's up to 86 RBI on the season and needs just 14 more for his third straight campaign with 100.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 9/13, 12:16 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with his 86th RBI on Saturday night, helping San Diego to a 3-2, ten inning win over a red-hot Colorado team.

Our View: Gonzalez now needs 14 RBI in the team's final 19 games to post his third straight 100-RBI season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/9, 5:49 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez homered and drove in three on Wednesday, helping the Padres beat a fading Giants club 4-2 on the road.

Our View: The homer was his 37th of the season, establishing a new career high. With 21 games to go, he is 15 RBI shy of his third straight 100-RBI campaign.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 9/7, 7:25 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Brad Penny in Monday's 9-4 loss at San Francisco.

Our View: Gonzalez collected his 36th homer, tying his season output of 2008. He homered in each of his last two games.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 9/6, 10:26 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit his 35th home run of the season on Sunday night, helping the Padres beat the Dodgers 4-3 in Los Angeles.

Our View: The home run was his first in nine games at Dodger Stadium this year. With 35 home runs, he is just one off of his career high he set last season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 9/5, 12:15 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the Padres' 2-0 win over the Dodgers on Friday. Gonzalez is still hitting .271 on the season.

Our View: Not a great night for A-Gone tonight, but he had a tough matchup against lefty-starter Clayton Kershaw. Gonzalez has been hot as of late for the most part, so tonight should be a performance we won't see much more.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/2, 5:40 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a pair of RBI in the Padres 7-0 win over the Nationals.

Our View: A-Gon has now driven in 19 runs since August 2nd and turned his season around with last month's red hot performance (.362 average). Owners are hoping he stays hot down the stretch regardless of the Padres hopeless postseason chances.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 8/31, 10:57 AM CT
The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Padres' first baseman Adrian Gonzalez has been out of the starting lineup for the last two games with a biceps injury. He pinch-hit on Sunday, and he expects to return to the lineup this week.

Our View: Gonzalez is one of the iron men of the sport, and he had played in 314 consecutive games before sitting out Saturday. He should be fine to return in the next few days, and we will keep you updated on his status for tonight's game against the Nats.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/26, 10:03 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with two RBI on Wednesday, as the Padres romped over the Braves 12-5 on the road.

Our View: A-Gone now has 17 RBI in August after posting just 12 in July. With 77 on the season, he's good bet to post third straight 100-RBI year.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/19, 12:03 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit his 33rd home run of the season in the Padres' 6-3 win over the Cubs on Tuesday. It was his only hit in three at-bats.

Our View: Gonzalez is in a groove right now. The slugging first baseman has three homers in his last four games and is hitting well over .400 for the month.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 8/17, 5:10 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to TSN. Gonzalez earned the honor by leading the majors with a .633 batting average, 10 runs scored, 33 total bases, a 1.100 slugging percentage and a .645 OBP. He also generated three homers and eight RBI.

Our View: Gonzalez has been named the player of the week twice this season, and three times in his career.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 8/16, 7:28 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez mashed his 32nd home run Sunday as part of a 4-for-5 day at the plate. He had a third of the Padres hits in their 7-5 loss to the Cardinals.

Our View: A-Gon is white hot right now. He's homered in back to back contests and finished the three game set with the Cardinals with eight hits. The Padres' slugger is raking at a .470 clip this month.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 8/15, 10:27 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 7-3 loss at St. Louis. He hit two singles and a solo homer off Joel Pineiro.

Our View: Gonzalez hit a homer in two of his last three games, and currently ranks third in the NL with 31. He is riding a seven-game hitting streak as well.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 8/13, 4:52 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez stayed hot on Thursday, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI, but the Padres got outslugged 12-9 in Milwaukee.

Our View: Gonzalez has 11 hits and six RBI in his last three games, all in Milwaukee, and has raised his average from .251 to .268. Too bad for his fantasy owners that he won't be able to feast on Brewers pitching anymore.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 8/11, 11:01 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went a career best 6-for-6 on Tuesday night, driving in three runs in the process, as the Padres embarrassed the Brewers 13-6 at home.

Our View: Since ending his consecutive games played streak at 314 on August 4 because of tired legs, Gonzalez has gone 10-for-15 (.667) with one home run and six RBI. It looks safe to say the day of rest did him some good.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 8/7, 12:02 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez continued his resurgence on Thursday, hitting a third inning home run, and driving in three total, as the Padres beat the Mets 8-3.

Our View: After hitting zero home runs between June 23 and July 20, the slugging first baseman has rediscovered his stroke and hit four. Look for him finish up the season in the neighborhood of 40 home runs and 100 RBI.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/31, 2:00 PM CT
Ken Rosenthal, via MLB Network, reports that the Dodgers are talking with the Padres regarding Adrian Gonzalez and possibly closer Heath Bell. Any deal would include James Loney and a number of other talented players.

Our View: This would be a blockbuster for sure as the Dodgers are lacking in the power department. It's not certain why they would be pursuing Bell as their bullpen has generally been effective all season and they acquired George Sherrill yesterday. We'll keep you posted.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/31, 7:52 AM CT
The Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox and Padres are expected to discuss a deal for Adrian Gonzalez up until the trade deadline on Friday. The Padres are asking for a mix of Clay Buchholz, Lars Anderson, Jed Lowrie, and Justin Masterson.

Our View: It's impossible to imagine how bad the Padres would be without Gonzalez, but if they can get an impressive enough package for him then this deal could get done. If the Red Sox could acquire him, they would likely shift Kevin Youkilis to third base and make Mike Lowell a reserve.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 7/30, 4:31 PM CT
The Red Sox remain interested in Adrian Gonzalez and talked to the Padres Wednesday night, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.

Our View: Trade talks for the star first baseman are expected to continue today. Adam LaRoche and Mike Lowell would see less action down the stretch if Gonzalez is acquired by Boston.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/29, 9:24 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez continued to get back on track Wednesday night, homering for the third straight game, as the Padres won 7-1 in Cincinnati.

Our View: A-Gone had just one home run since June 23 before his recent outburst. In case you were amazingly deep at first base and had been benching him, by all means, get him back in your lineup ASAP.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 7/27, 9:14 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a double in tonight's 6-4 loss at Cincinnati.

Our View: Gonzalez hit his third homer this month, and his team-leading 26th of the season, which also now ties him for second in the NL with Raul Ibanez and Mark Reynolds.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 7/27, 8:13 AM CT
After initially being given the day off on Sunday, Adrian Gonzalez came in for defensive purposes in the seventh inning, and set the Padres consecutive games played record, at 306, in the process, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: Gonzalez's streak is also the current longest one in the majors. After a huge start in 2009, he has tailed off considerably, as his Pads teammates have been able to provide little protection for him. After hitting his 24th home run on June 23, he has hit just one, and collected only eight RBI.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 7/26, 11:40 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez is not in the Padres' lineup for the Sunday afternoon game against the Nationals. He will be replaced by Oscar Salazar at first base.

Our View: This looks to be a routine day off for Gonzalez, as no injury has been reported. He has been struggling mightily in July, so maybe this is just a rest day to get him going again. He still has 25 homers, and he is a good enough hitter to break out of this slump and finish strong.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 7/23, 6:21 PM CT
The Red Sox would reportedly like to acquire Padres' star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View: Apparently the Sox are not done targeting corner infielders after getting Adam LaRoche from Pittsburgh. The Sox inquired about Gonzalez, but their offers have been turned down so far. The Padres did not state that they have desire to move Gonzalez, who is the cornerstone of their offense.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 7/20, 12:32 PM CT
The Boston Globe is suggesting that Padres' first baseman Adrian Gonzalez would be a good fit with the Red Sox. The team could use a first baseman, thus allowing Kevin Youkilis to shift to third to make up for the loss of the injured Mike Lowell.

Our View: The lefty Gonzalez could enjoy driving the ball the other way in Boston, but it seems highly unlikely the Padres will move him. His contract is affordable, and right now he is the only reason people in San Diego come to the park. Look for Gonzalez to stay put unless someone absolutely blows the Padres away with a trade offer.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/17, 10:05 AM CT
MLB.com reports that Padres' slugger Adrian Gonzalez will be given random off days in the second half of the season.

Our View: This move is likely designed to keep Gonzalez from getting hurt, but could also be related to the fact that he's slumped significantly since June 1st. The big first baseman is the most important hitter on the team and is also the Padres' most valuable trade chip. He has started 297 consecutive games, but that streak will come to a close soon as the organization wants to play it safe with him. He has just six hits in July, hasn't homered since June 23rd and has seen his average dip from .285 to .248 since June 19th. Looks like he could use a few days.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 7/11, 11:50 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with a single in tonight's 2-1 loss at San Francisco.

Our View: The Padres only had seven hits in the game, and left 13 men on base. Gonzalez has now gone 18 games without a homer, and holds a dismal .143 average over 42 at-bats so far in July.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 7/6, 10:36 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez has lost some of his main protection in the lineup with the Padres trade of Scott Hairston.

Our View: Gonzalez has already seen his power numbers drop as fewer teams pitch to him, and now that Hairston and his team third best ten home runs will no longer be hitting near him in the lineup, he will likely see even fewer good pitches.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 7/5, 2:40 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez has been chosen as an All-Star reserve for the NL, according to MLB.com. He will be joined on the team by fellow infielders Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, Orlando Hudson, Freddy Sanchez, Miguel Tejada, and Ryan Zimmerman, outfielders Brad Hawpe, Hunter Pence, and Justin Upton, and catcher Brian McCann.

Our View: Gonzalez is one of four first baseman who will represent the NL in the midsummer classic. The competition at the position was the deepest in the league, but manager Charlie Manuel decided to bring all four players.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 7/4, 12:34 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the Padres 6-3 loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

Our View: A-Gon has been mired in a monster slump lately. He hasn't homered since June 23rd and hasn't had a multi-hit game since June 18th. He's seen his average fall all the way to .265, and one of the game's brightest stars the first two months of the season has considerably dwindled.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/1, 7:49 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez is in the lineup Wednesday night, one day after injuring his knee sliding into third base, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: He doesn't appear to have any lingering effects from the slide, and there is no reason to hold him out of your lineup tonight.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/1, 2:43 PM CT
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, slugger Adrian Gonzalez does not plan to have an MRI on his knee and may get into the lineup for Wednesday's game.

Our View: A-Gon injured his knee in Tuesday's game sliding into third base and was removed immediately after. He was sore today, but doesn't feel it's bad enough to keep him out of the lineup. We'll stay on top of his status, as right now it looks like he'll be a game-time decision.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 6/30, 10:59 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez exited tonight's battle against the Astros in the fourth inning with a right knee injury, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Rookie Kyle Blanks replaced him in the lineup. The severity of Gonzalez's injury is yet to be determined.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/24, 12:12 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit his 24th home run of the season on Tuesday, helping power the Padres to a 9-7 win over the Mariners.

Our View: Gonzalez has cooled since his off-the-charts May, but is likely due for another hot streak soon. If you are in a smaller league with ridiculous first base depth and haven't been starting him, now might be the time to reinsert into your lineup.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 6/18, 5:47 PM CT
The Padres Adrian Gonzalez snapped his twelve game homerless streak on Thursday and went 4-for-4 as the Padres beat the Mariners 4-3 in ten innings.

Our View: Since his late May home run explosion, Gonzalez hasn't seen many pitches to hit, but he hit every one he got on Thursday. He is now tied with Albert Pujols for the major league home run lead with 23.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 6/4, 12:21 PM CT
Padres first basemen Adrian Gonzalez did not homer for the first time in four games on Wednesday.

Our View: Gonzalez has been on an epic tear of late, homering in seven of his last 11 games. His major league leading total of 22 is made all the more impressive by the fact that he his hit only seven of them at home in the cavernous Petco Park. If Gonzalez played in a more homer friendly park, say the new Yankee Stadium, he might currently be on pace to break the single season record. Alas, he will probably have to settle for just leading the league in 2009.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/3, 12:21 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with a homer in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the Phillies at Petco Park. He drew three walks as well.

Our View: Gonzalez has homered in three straight games, and continues to lead the majors with 22.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 6/2, 12:08 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-3 loss to Philadelphia at Petco Park. He drew two walks as well.

Our View: Gonzalez hit his MLB-leading 21st homer of the season, with 15 coming away from pitcher-friendly Petco. He has homered in three straight games.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 6/1, 4:13 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez and Ryan Howard have been co-named the NL Player of the Week, according to the Sports Network. Both players tied for the league lead with four home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Our View: This marks the second time Gonzalez has earned the weekly honor, the last time coming in July 2006. Gonzalez became the first player in the majors to reach 20 homers this season, despite playing his home games at pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/31, 8:18 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez became the first player to reach 20 home runs in 2009, going 2-for-4 with a three-run shot in the third inning against Colorado on Sunday. He also added a walk and was caught stealing.

Our View: Gonzalez now has five home runs in his past nine games and continues to be one of the premier power hitters in the league. He jacked 24 home runs in 2006 and improved by six to 30 and then 36 in each of the following two years. At this pace, it looks like he could end up far above 42 and well into the 50s.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 5/30, 11:45 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Saturday's 8-7 loss at Colorado.

Our View: He hit his third homer over his last five games, and has 19 for the season - which currently leads the majors. 14 were launched away from pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 5/27, 11:40 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Padres.

Our View: A-Gon now has 18 bombs on the season and leads the majors in that category. He continues to produce in a hitter's graveyard, surrounded by nobody's in the lineup. Just imagine him in Texas or New York.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 5/27, 7:13 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against Arizona due to flu-like symptoms, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He was able to play in the game as he pinch hit in the eighth inning. Gonzalez, who co-leads the majors with 17 home runs, should not miss much time with the illness.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 5/25, 6:28 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez tied Raul Ibanez with his 17th home run of the season in Monday's 9-7 win over Arizona. He finished the game 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Our View: Gonzalez has been a monster in an impotent lineup this season. He ranks first in home runs, fifth in runs scored, but just 10th in RBI (all in the NL) despite hitting cleanup for San Diego.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 5/16, 8:34 AM CT
According to MLB.com, Adrian Gonzalez has homered in five consecutive games and is one shy of setting the franchise record.

Our View: A-Gon could tie current record holder, Graig Nettles, with a blast in today's game against the Reds. His 15 homers are currently the most in major league baseball.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 5/14, 4:44 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez continued his power onslaught on Thursday in the Padres' 11-3 loss to the Cubs. Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with his 14th homer of the season.

Our View: Gonzalez is simply pounding the ball so far in 2009. He already has 14 bombs, and the power doesn't appear to be going anywhere. He is one of the top first basemen in the league, and he should be considered as a top three option at the position.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 5/13, 11:32 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez belted two home runs in the Padres rain-shortened 6-4 loss to the Cubs on Wednesday. He was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the game.

Our View: A-Gon is now tied for the Major League lead in home runs (13) and is living up to his potential as one of the top fantasy first basemen. Surrounding lineup be damned. Gonzalez has a .307 average and 27 RBI to go along with his 13 bombs.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 5/12, 11:26 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with his 11th home run of the season on Tuesday. It was a two-run shot off Rich Harden, but that was all the runs the Padres could muster as they fell 6-2 to the Cubs.

Our View: Get used to days like this. Gonzalez was the only Padre to drive in a run or collect multiple hits. Such is life when you have no supporting cast. He will see more and more walks as the players around him struggle.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 5/8, 11:59 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 0-for-4 on Friday, stranding two runners in the Padres' 2-0 loss to the Astros.

Our View: Wandy Rodriguez had A-Gon's number in this one and the slugger had a rare O-fer. His average dipped to below .300, but it should shoot back up soon. Gonzalez is still a premier player at first base in all fantasy formats.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 4/29, 5:21 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with two home runs, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored as the Padres fell to the Rockies 7-5 on Wednesday. He now has nine home runs on the season.

Our View: It's fairly impressive that Gonzalez has only drawn 14 walks through 21 games. Chase Headley is "protecting" him in the lineup for now. Headley was 0-for-4 with a strikeout today. For now, pitchers continue to offer Gonzalez strikes for him to pound over the fences.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 4/26, 8:18 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez is keeping pace with Albert Pujols in the home run department. He blasted his seventh on Sunday, tying him for the league lead. He was 2-for-3 in the Padres' 8-3 loss.

Our View: Gonzalez is now hitting .323 with seven homers and 16 RBI this season. He's the only real threat in San Diego's lineup and although he won't see a lot of juicy pitches this season, he's making the most of his opportunities.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 4/19, 12:02 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went deep on Saturday night in San Diego's 8-5 win over the Phillies. He was 1-for-2 on the day, but drove in two, scored two runs and drew three walks.

Our View: The Padres main threat will have to get used to being pitched around this season (much like Albert Pujols in St. Louis), but he's making the most of it when gets to swing the bat. He now has four homers and ten RBI on the season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 4/15, 11:53 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit his third home run in the ninth inning of the Padres' 7-2 loss to the Mets on Wednesday. It was his only hit on the day.

Our View: The home run was meaningless for the Padres, but nice for fantasy owners. Gonzalez has decent numbers to start the year, but he the only true offensive threat on the Padres and will be pitched around much more than fantasy owners would like.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 4/1, 7:56 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's win over the White Sox. It was his third of the season.

Our View: Fantasy owners are expecting big things from Gonzalez this year. They only wish he had a better supporting cast. And more games away from spacious Petco Park, while we're wishing for things. Still, he will produce and is a great option at first base.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 3/25, 6:05 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Indians. He is hitting an impressive .375 on the spring season.

Our View: Gonzalez will most likely get pitched around quite a bit this year, as he is the only truly imposing bat in the Padres lineup, but he is an RBI machine and has steadily increased his home run totals the last three seasons. He is a solid fantasy option at first base.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 3/24, 6:09 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit his first official home run of the spring on Tuesday against the Angels. It was a two-run shot. Gonzalez swatted two long balls while playing for Mexico in the WBC.

Our View: Gonzalez, 26, has increased his home run total from 24 to 30 to 36 over the last three seasons, and he may have a 40-spot in his near future. We continue to wish the Padres had more talent around him, but Adrian is a safe, solid fantasy pick.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 2/5, 1:16 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez crushed three opposite field homers Wednesday night in the Caribbean World Series, according to the Orange County Register. He is playing for the Mazatlan Venados.

Our View: Gonzalez hit 36 homers with the Padres last season, and would have likely topped 40 if he didn't play his home games at pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 2/3, 5:03 PM CT
A group led by Jeff Moorad, the former CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks, has agreed to purchase 100 percent ownership of the San Diego Padres, according to SportsTicker.

Our View: Moorad is a former player agent, working with such players as Manny Ramirez, Will Clark, and Shawn Green.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 12/13, 8:48 AM CT
Despite the Angels inquiring about the availability of first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, the Padres have said they will retain him this season, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: One of the reasons San Diego is in no rush to part with Gonzalez is his relatively low $3 million salary. He remains a top fantasy option at first base, despite playing in the hitter's Death Valley that is Petco Park.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 11/8, 2:43 PM CT
The San Diego Padres will move the fences in at the spacious Petco Park sometime in the future, according to FoxSports.com.

Our View: Petco is where power goes to die, as it is an enormous advantage for pitchers. For example, Adrian Gonzalez hit .247 with 14 home runs and 49 RBI at home, but .308 with 22 home runs and 70 RBI on the road.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 10/19, 3:21 PM CT
GM Kevin Towers stated that he has no intention of trading star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, according to the NY Post. Towers said, "Adrian would be the most difficult guy for us to move. I don't see any circumstances in which we would do it. He is young, under control for three more years (at the incredible bargain total of $13.25 million), has plus offense and plus defense."

Our View: Gonzalez is also a San Diego native. The Padres struggled in 2008, but Gonzalez remained a rock of consistency, as he held a .361 on-base percentage, with 36 homers, 119 RBI, and 103 runs scored.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 9/29, 8:56 PM CT
The AP reports that Bud Black is coming back as manager of the San Diego Padres despite the club’s worst finish in 15 seasons. “We have the confidence and trust in Buddy to lead the club back to our winning ways,” general manager Kevin Towers said in a statement. “When we hired him before the 2007 season, the most important element to us was to bring in a manager who would continue to grow with the Padres organization.”

Our View: The Padres have to make changes somewhere so expect some roster moves to be made before the start of next season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 9/21, 4:00 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-3 and homered for the 35th time this season in San Diego's 6-2 victory over the Nationals.

Our View: Gonzalez has been a steady presence of offense for the Padres, and one of the only members of that team fantasy owners have been able to count on.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 9/20, 10:24 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over Washington. His hit was a single.

Our View: He collected his 115th RBI of the season, with 21 coming over 19 games in September.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 9/20, 12:03 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez was 3-for-8 with three RBI in Friday's five hour long game between the Padres and Nationals.

Our View: It's unknown whether Gonzalez was happier about his production at the plate or just the fact that this game, which featured 17 pitchers, is over.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 9/15, 10:43 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, two runs, and four RBI in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Our View: Gonzalez continues to be one of the few bright spots for the lowly Padres. He has proven his worth in fantasy leagues, and we can only hope his teammates help out more in 2009.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 9/11, 11:50 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit two bombs on Thursday night, he also added a single, and knocked in four runs for the Padres in their 11-3 victory over the Giants.

Our View: Gonzalez has 31 home runs and 103 RBI, pretty amazing totals for a player who calls Petco park home. This marks back-to-back season of 30-100 for Gonzalez who has clearly established himself as one of the top hitters in the game that call first base home.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 8/31, 12:14 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Rockies. His hit was a single.

Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Rockies. His hit was a single.

Our View: He ended a seven-game drought without an RBI, and has 93 for the season. Now he needs to end his homer-less streak, which stands at 17 games.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/20, 12:09 AM CT
The Padres suffered the 7-6 loss against Arizona, but not without a fight from first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. Gonzalez went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Gonzalez has fallen off his run production pace a bit, but he's still slamming homers, touting four homers last month and now carrying four through August, though he boasts just nine RBIs this month.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 8/19, 1:32 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez is scuffling in August, and it does not bode well for him that he has to go up against Arizona left-hander Doug Davis on Tuesday. Gonzalez has just four hits in 21 at-bats (.190) in his career against Davis, with four strikeouts and no walks.

Our View: The San Diego first baseman is hitting only .255 in August and has struck out in 25 percent of his at-bats, which is above his normal rate. Fantasy owners with other options at the position should think about using them.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 8/14, 5:19 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, but the Padres still managed to beat Milwaukee by a score of 3-2.

Our View: Gonzalez has struggled to a .239 August and went just 1-for-12 against the Brewers. He has hit three home runs on the month, which should ease the pain a little bit.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 8/7, 2:29 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Mets. The Padres only registered six hits today.

Our View: He ended the three-game set against the Mets with only two hits, but at least he registered two RBI and one of his knocks was a homer.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 8/2, 12:13 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit an opposite field home run, his 26th of the year, in the Padres extra inning loss to the Giants.

Our View: Adrian has 26 bombs and 83 RBI, staggering production for a batter who calls Petco Park home. If he played in a more offensively prone ballpark, the numbers could be huge.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/30, 12:03 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 0-for-4 and struck out three times against Doug Davis and the Arizona Diamondbacks in a losing effort.

Our View: This is not a typical Gonzalez performance, so we'll just chalk it up to a dominant outing by Davis.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 7/26, 9:02 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs in San Diego's victory over the Pirates. The home runs were number 24 and 25 for Gonzalez.

Our View: Gonzalez is the only true offensive threat for San Diego, and he now has 82 RBI on the season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/18, 5:44 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez is a .500 hitter off of tonight's starter for St. Louis, Braden Looper. Gonzalez is 5-for-10 with two home runs off the converted reliever.

Our View: Gonzalez is really the only offensive threat on the Padres, so the fact that he gets pitches to hit is somewhat surprising. He is only hitting .209 in July, but tonight is a good night for him to possibly break out of that slump.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/16, 7:46 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez is tied for fifth in the NL in home runs with 22 and he is fourth in RBI with 71, though that masks the fact that he has been terribly unproductive at the plate of late hitting just .175 with a single home runs over his last 63 AB.

Our View: It's really a surprise that it has taken teams this long to work around Gonzalez since he is just about the only valid power option in their lineup right now. Even with his recent struggles, his .276/.345/.503 line is nearly identical to his production from last season (.282/.347/.502).
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 6/22, 8:14 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went deep for the 21st time on Sunday as he took Justin Verlander deep in his first at-bat.

Our View: Gonzalez has hit at least five home runs each month this season, and over his last 49 games he has been a run producing machine with 34 runs and 46 RBI in what is shaping up to be one of the biggest offensive seasons in Padres history.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 6/12, 7:36 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez belted his 18th home run of the season while knocking in two runs to push his total to 60 on the year.

Our View: Gonzalez has hits in 6-straight games and hits in 12 of his last 14 outings to raise his average from .279 to .295. After a 30 home run, 100 RBI season, Gonzalez has clearly taken his game to a whole other level this season.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/4, 12:47 AM CT
The Padres suffered the 9-6 loss to the Cubs this evening, but first baseman Adrian Gonzalez continues to shine at the plate. Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with his 15th double of the season, finishing with one RBI on the night.

Our View: Gonzalez has been especially hot over the last week, going 12-for-22 over his last five games with two home runs and 11 RBIs.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 6/3, 12:11 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez didn't let Chase Utley take over the NL RBI lead for long. The Padres first baseman went 3-for-4 with a homer, two runs, and four RBI on Monday. His 54 runs batted in lead the NL.

Our View: Gonzalez is locked in right now and has 15 RBI over his last seven games. He tends to be a little streaky, but overall, Adrian is a solid fantasy first baseman.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 6/1, 9:07 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 in Sunday's win over the Giants recording two RBI and a run scored. One of his two hits was his 16th home run of the season.

Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 5/31, 6:29 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-5 and generated three RBI in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Giants.

Our View: He has 48 RBI over 57 games this season, with 29 coming in May.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/25, 9:21 PM CT
What can feel better than a walk-off home run? How about a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning? That would be the role filled by San Diego first baseman Adrian Gonzalez , putting his Padres in the win column after 18 innings this evening, 12-9. Gonzalez went 4-for-9 overall at the dish, hitting a double, a single, and his 14th home run of the season.

Our View: He left the field with four RBIs and the one hit that meant the most to everyone there, ending the affair with two men on and two outs in the bottom of the 18th.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 5/22, 11:58 PM CT
Continuing to produce as the team's only power threat, Adrian Gonzalez went deep for the 13th time this year on Thursday night as he pushed across two runs giving him 39 RBI on the year.

Our View: Gonzalez seems intent on producing his second straight 30 HR, 100 RBI season for the Padres as he seeks to established himself solidly on the second tier of power hitters at first base.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/11, 12:33 AM CT
The Padres managed to post just five hits on the evening, but the only hit that mattered was the three-run homer off the bat of 1B Adrian Gonzalez .

Our View: Gonzalez went 1-for-4 to his his 9th homer of the season, that proving to be the game-winning home run of the game.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 5/8, 4:51 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez pushed his average up to .307 on Thursday thanks to three hits in five at bats.

Our View: Gonzalez, who is now working on a 9-game hitting streak, is on almost the same pace that he was on last year when he hit .282-30-100. Gonzalez isn't a top option at first base, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't fit nicely on that second level of talented game-breaking hitters at the position.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/4, 3:42 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with one RBI and blasted his eighth home run in Sunday's 10-3 loss to Florida.

Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 5/1, 9:15 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez hit his sixth home run of the season off of Randy Wolf, and he now has 21 RBI on the year.

Our View: Gonzalez has now gone deep four times in the last 10 games for the Padres as he continues to be one of the only productive bats in the Padres lineup.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresSaturday 4/26, 8:13 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez drove in three runs for a team desperate for run production as San Diego defeated Arizona 8-7 on Saturday. The Padres entered the afternoon affair second to last in the majors in runs scored.

Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresMonday 4/7, 7:21 PM CT
Adrian Gonzalez beat out four hits on Monday which led to four runs scored and two RBI for the Padres. Thats more like it. Adrian started the year hitting .259 in 27 AB, but with today's effort his average now rests at .344. Gonzalez also hit in the third spot in the order where he should bat consistently despite being the team's best power-hitter.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresThursday 4/3, 12:07 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez had two hits and two RBI in the Padres loss to the Astros on Monday. Gonzalez improved his numbers across the board last season though he may be hard pressed to exceed his total of 30 HR and 100 RBI this season given the fact that he hits in the best pitcher's park in the National League.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, San Diego PadresTuesday 3/25, 11:16 AM CT
Adrian Gonzalez had a tough day at the plate against the Angels on Monday as he went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts, while leaving four men on base. His spring average remains solid at .359 and he should bounce back fine.
