| Since being optioned to Triple-A Tucson in early July, former closer Jose Valverde has posted a 3.06 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings, according to the Arizona Republic. In fact, he hasn't allowed a run in 11 of his past 12 appearances. He could be recalled when rosters expand next month. |
