Joe Dillon, 2B, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 8/13, 7:02 PM CT
Joe Dillon has been outrighted to the minors by the Rays, according to TSN.

Our View: He accepted a minor league assignment, and will report to Triple-A Durham. The 34-year-old vet hit .300 with one homer over 30 brief at-bats with the Rays this season.

According to Marc Lancaster of the Tampa Tribune, the Rays have designated infielder Joe Dillon for assignment.

Our View: Dillon hit .300 for the Rays in 30 at-bats this season, but the team needed to clear a roster spot for Russ Springer. He's 34 so it's not likely someone else will pick him up.

TSN is reporting that the Rays have selected the contract of Joe Dillon to replace shortstop Jason Bartlett, who was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday.

Our View: Dillon may see some playing time, but for the most part he should be used in more of a utility role. He has no fantasy value, but he should provide some much needed depth for the Rays on the infield.

Joe Dillon has been shipped from Oakland to Tampa Bay to complete the Adam Kennedy trade, according to TSN.

Our View: The 33-year-old vet is a career .257 hitter in the majors, and offers no speed or power. He is not expected to be fantasy-worthy with his new club.

Joe Dillon has been designated for assignment by the Athletics to make room for slugger Jason Giambi on the roster, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: The 33-year-old utility man holds a .257 average over 187 career at-bats in the majors.
Joe Dillon, 2B, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 10/31, 4:49 PM CT
Second baseman Joe Dillon has been claied off of waivers by the Oakland A's. He was with the Brewers orgainzation last season.

Our View: Dillon will probably fill a utility role for the A's as he can play multiple infield positions as well as the corner outfield spots. The 33-year-old hit .213/.337/.293 in 75 at-bats for the Brewers last season. His minor league numbers have usually been very good.
Joe Dillon, 2B, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 6/27, 7:05 PM CT
Joe Dillon is penciled in to start at first base in tonight's inter-league battle in Minnesota, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Prince Fielder is serving as the DH.

Our View: Dillon is only 13-for-53 (.245) this season, with no homers, and is not worth starting as a fantasy prospect.
Joe Dillon, 2B, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 5/17, 1:32 PM CT
Joe Dillon is going to start at first base today in inter-league play with the Red Sox at Fenway Park, according to the Boston Globe. Dillon will hit eighth in the order, between JJ Hardy and Bill Hall. Prince Fielder will serve as the DH.

Our View: Dillon is 5-for-20 (.250) with no homers or RBI while contributing in a utility role. He gets to start today, but against Boston ace hurler Daisuke Matsuzaka.
Joe Dillon, 2B, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 5/2, 9:31 AM CT
The Brewers recalled Joe Dillon from Triple-A Nashville Friday. Dillon had two hits in 10 at-bats with the Brewers earlier this year and hit .219 in 32 at-bats with the Sounds.

Our View: Dillon will play a utility role with the Brewers but doesn't figure to see a lot of playing time.
Joe Dillon, 2B, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 4/20, 10:15 AM CT
Joe Dillon is being sent down to Triple-A Nashville, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The team needs a roster spot for when Yovani Gallardo gets activated and makes his scheduled start against Cincinnati, and Dillon was seen as the most expendable.

Our View: He held no fantasy value, and the Brewers will notably have 14 pitchers on their 25 man roster when Gallardo is activated.
