Lee Gardner underwent right shoulder surgery on Tuesday, and his 2008 campaign is over, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery to repair a torn labrum and rotator cuff. Gardner is at no-throw status for six months. He held no fantasy value, as he allowed eight earned runs on 14 hits over 6.2 innings, with four walks.

Lee Gardner had a follow-up visit with Dr. James Andrews in Alabama, according to MLB.com. Gardner has right elbow inflammation as well as shoulder discomfort, and it is believed that Andrews is examining his shoulder.

Our View: Gardner fared well in 2007, but has not had the same success this season, as he allowed eight runs and 14 hits over 6.2 innings of work.

On the DL since April 18 with elbow inflammation, Lee Gardner is now experiencing shoulder discomfort, according to MLB.com. As a result, the reliever's throwing schedule has been put on the back burner.

Our View: Gardner was a very useful member of the Marlins' pen last year, but this year he's been dogged by injuries and ineffectiveness.

Lee Gardner recently underwent an MRI and is awaiting the results, the Miami Herald reports. The reliever has been out since April 18 due to right elbow inflammation.

Our View: We'll update Gardner's status when more is known. He was a very solid reliever for the Fish in 2007, but Lee has very little fantasy value at this point.

Our View: He will battle for playing time out of the Marlins' pen when he returns, and got rocked for eight earned runs on 14 hits over a mere 6.2 innings of work prior to getting hurt. He holds no fantasy value.
