John Parrish has been reassigned to minor league camp by the Orioles, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: The 31-year-old lefty may undergo arthroscopic surgery on his sore pitching shoulder.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesSaturday 3/21, 2:10 PM CT
John Parrish is likely going to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder to reveal the cause of his soreness, according to MASN Sports.

Our View: Parrish did not make any starts in spring training, and the 31-year-old lefty should not be considered for fantasy rosters.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesSaturday 3/14, 11:04 AM CT
John Parrish has left camp to have his left shoulder examined, according to the Baltimore Sun. Parrish said, "It is just a little pinch. It does not hurt that bad, but I can't pitch with it."

Our View: Parrish was a longshot to win a rotation spot, and is now expected to start the season on the DL. The 31-year-old lefty does not merit fantasy consideration.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesWednesday 2/4, 12:58 PM CT
John Parrish has agreed to terms on a minor league deal with the Orioles, according to MASN Sports. The contract includes an out-clause that would allow him to leave the franchise if he's not on the major league roster by April 3.

Our View: Parrish likes Baltimore and will get a chance to crack the starting rotation. The 31-year-old lefty could be worth a look for deeper AL-only leagues.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesWednesday 2/4, 9:05 AM CT
John Parrish is likely to sign a minor league deal with the Orioles, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: The 31-year-old lefty hurler was previously on the Tigers' radar, but they became less interested after reeling in Brandon Lyon. Parrish would be invited to big league camp, and have a fair chance to compete for a spot at the back of the Orioles' rotation.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesSunday 1/11, 7:38 PM CT
The Detroit Free-Press reports that the Tigers are interested in the services of left-handed reliever John Parrish.

Our View: Parrish only saw action in 13 games last season for Toronto, starting six of them. The Tigers would like him to be a situational lefty, which seems odd when considering hitters from that side of the plate pounded him last season to the tune of .305/.364/.525.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesSaturday 8/23, 1:23 PM CT
John Parrish has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse, according to the AP. He replaces Shaun Marcum on the roster, who has been sent down to Syracuse due to control issues with his pitches.

Our View: Parrish is slated to take Marcum's spot in the rotation, and his next start will be Thursday against the Rays. Parrish is worth consideration in larger AL-only leagues, as he holds a 1-0 record over seven games (four starts) with a 4.05 ERA and passable 1.39 WHIP.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesTuesday 8/12, 7:37 AM CT
The Blue Jays optioned John Parrish to Triple-A Syracuse Tuesday.

Our View: The Jays optioned Parrish to open a spot in the rotation for Jesse Litsch.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesMonday 7/21, 7:47 PM CT
The Blue Jays will stick with John Parrish in their rotation, for now. He allowed four hits and four runs over three innings in his July 20 outing, and he is scheduled to start on Friday. "We'll evaluate from there," general manager J.P. Ricciardi tells MLB.com. "The last one he struggled -- he'll be the first one to tell you that -- and the bullpen kind of saved us. In two out of three, he's given us a chance to win the game, so I think he's deserving of another start."

Our View: The Blue Jays want to eventually open up a spot for David Purcey, and Parrish is the one who could get booted. Of course, the Jays may also have an opening if they deal A.J. Burnett.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesThursday 7/10, 9:33 PM CT
John Parrish had a second quality start for the Jays as he held the Orioles to three runs over seven innings in a no-decision on Thursday.

Our View: Parish has given the Jays a 2.77 ERA over 13 innings, and with the recent injury to Dustin McGowan, Parrish should remain in the Jays starting rotation for a while as a viable AL only option.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesSaturday 6/28, 3:26 PM CT
Toronto LHP John Parrish earned his first win of the season today, helping his Blue Jays put the Atlanta Braves to rest, 9-5. Parrish pitched six innings to allow just one run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Parrish was called up to fill in for injured Shawn Marcum and performed nicely. Parrish was 10-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 15 starts at Triple-A and clearly deserves a shot hang in the majors and see if he can make the grade.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesSaturday 6/28, 10:20 AM CT
The Blue Jays welcome LHP John Parrish to the mound this evening in their interleague battle with the Atlanta Braves, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: Parrish, recently called up to replace injured Shawn Marcum, has shown well in Triple-A action, going 10-1 with a 2.74 ERA. Last year Parrish was strictly used out of the bullpen for the Blue Jays, but did not perform at a high level. In 53 appearances, the southpaw went 2-2 with a lackluster 5.71 ERA.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesThursday 6/26, 7:18 PM CT
As expected, John Parrish was called up from the minors in order to start for the Blue Jays on Saturday, according to MLB.com. Parrish will start in place of the injured Shaun Marcum.

Our View: Parrish was 10-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 15 starts at Triple-A and clearly deserves a shot in the majors to show if he can continue that run of dominance. Parrish is worth a look in AL Only leagues as it is still far from certain that Marcum will be back off the DL when eligible.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesMonday 6/23, 4:35 PM CT
John Parrish is a candidate to replace the injured Shaun Marcum in the Blue Jays rotation, according to MLB.com. The lefty, who has made 151 of his career 169 appearance in the majors in relief, is 10-0 with a 2.83 ERA at Triple-A Syracuse.

Our View: Parrish's move to the rotation has gone surprisingly well. His first outing would be Saturday. Other candidates for a promotion include David Purcey and Kane Davis.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesThursday 6/5, 12:15 AM CT
John Parrish improved his record to 8-0 for Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. He allowed one run on seven hits in 6.2 innings, walking one and fanning eight.

Our View: Parrish has been tried in just about every role in the majors, but he has usually failed to command his pitches. With a sub-3.00 ERA in Triple-A, we should expect him to be tried again this season. Most likely, it will be in short relief.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesThursday 8/23, 8:49 PM CT
The Mariners optioned John Parrish to Triple-A Tacoma Thursday and recalled Rick White. Parrish held a 8.44 ERA in four appearances for Seattle since coming over in a trade with Baltimore earlier this month.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesThursday 8/9, 5:34 PM CT
The Mariners acquired John Parrish from the Orioles for minor league outfielder Sebastien Boucher. Parrish holds a 5.45 ERA in 41 2/3 innings for the Orioles this year. To make room for Parrish on the roster, Mark Lowe was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.
John Parrish, P, Baltimore OriolesTuesday 11/21, 2:46 PM CT
The Orioles avoided arbitration with John Parrish by signing him to a one-year deal on Tuesday, according to SportsTicker. Parrish missed the entire 2006 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in July of 2005.
