Slam Sports reports that the Nationals have recalled right-hander Mike MacDougal from Triple-A.

Our View: Don't count on MacDougal holding much fantasy value unless the Nationals bullpen somehow winds up in worse shape than it is in now. Should that happen he may get a chance to close.
Mike MacDougal, P, Washington NationalsThursday 5/28, 11:10 AM CT
The Nationals have purchased Mike MacDougal's contract from the minors, according to TSN.

Our View: MacDougal has been erratic, and is not expected to pitch well enough to get a chance to close games. He allowed six earned runs and seven walks over 4.1 innings of relief with the White Sox this season.

According to MLB.com, the Nationals plan to purchase the contract of reliever Mike MacDougal on Friday.

Our View: The former Royals closer will get a shot in the Nats' bullpen, because, frankly, they have nothing to lose. Their pen has been atrocious this season and, while it's far from a certainty that MacDougal will help, he can't really make things worth at this point. If he starts strong out of the gate he could get a chance to close and is worth monitoring in fantasy leagues.
Mike MacDougal, P, Washington NationalsSunday 5/3, 12:34 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that the Nationals have signed Mike MacDougal to a minor league contract. MacDougal was released by the White Sox last week.

Our View: MacDougal has always been a guy with all the tools but has been unable to put it together and throw strikes. The Nats can afford to take a chance on him since their bullpen is horrendous, but his value will be nonexistent unless he somehow figures out how to throw strikes.
Mike MacDougal, P, Washington NationalsWednesday 4/29, 2:32 PM CT
The White Sox have requested waivers on Mike MacDougal with the intent of released the reliever, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Our View: The White Sox have spent nearly three years trying to get MacDougal to throw strikes, and they clearly hit their limit. The 32-year-old right-hander still throws very hard, so some curious team will likely come calling. That means you, Nationals.
Mike MacDougal, P, Washington NationalsTuesday 4/21, 1:15 PM CT
MLBTradeRumors.com is reporting that the White Sox have designated Mike MacDougal for assignment. MacDougal had five appearances for the Sox in 2009, compiling a 12.46 ERA in 4.1 innings of work.

Our View: MacDougal has electric stuff, but he just hasn't been able to put it together. He is an intriguing player, with a fastball in the mid to upper 90's, but he holds no fantasy value after this move.
Mike MacDougal, P, Washington NationalsFriday 11/14, 3:36 PM CT
Mike MacDougal has been outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: He did not allow a home run over 17 innings of relief for the Sox in 2008, but held a poor 1.65 WHIP.

Mike MacDougal recently got a vote of confidence from manager Ozzie Guillen, but Guillen's confidence appears to be waning. The White Sox are trying to trade him, but if that fails, he might be sent to the minors as soon as Monday, according to the Daily Southtown. MacDougal sports a 7.13 ERA and 2.21 WHIP, so no fantasy folk should have him on their rosters anyway.
