Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 12/18, 7:05 PM CT
The Rockies have re-signed reliever Juan Rincon to a minor-league deal, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Rincon, age 30, posted an ugly 6.87 ERA in 36.2 innings between the Rockies and Tigers last season. Expect him to garner nothing more than a few sporadic call-ups and appearances next season.

Juan Rincon picked up the slack for injured starter Jose Contreras on Thursday and was rewarded with a win as the Rockies downed the Reds 5-1.

Our View: Roncon pitched three scoreless innings of relief and allowed just two hits. He did not walk a man and struck out five Reds.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 8/26, 6:25 PM CT
Juan Rincon (elbow stiffness) has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.

Our View: Rincon has posted some of the worst numbers amongst major league relievers in 2009, compiling a 6.20 ERA in 24.2 innings between the Tigers and Rockies.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 8/1, 6:38 PM CT
Juan Rincon has been placed on the 15-day DL due to right elbow stiffness, according to TSN.

Our View: Rincon holds a poor 6.20 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 24.2 innings of relief this season, and should not be missed in fantasy leagues while on the shelf. The Rockies should be pleased that they were able to upgrade their pen with Joe Beimel.

According to the Denver Post, the Rockies have called up right-hander Juan Rincon from Triple-A.

Our View: The Rox recently lost setup man Manny Corpas, so Rincon was brought in for added bullpen depth. He was DFAed by the Tigers earlier this season, but has pitched very well in Triple-A for the Sky Sox, going 3-for-3 in save opportunities with a 1.04 ERA. He will likely see some action in the seventh and eighth innings (depending on match-ups) to bridge the gap to closer Houston Street.

Juan Rincon has inked a minor league deal with the Rockies, according to TSN. He recently refused a minor league assignment with the Tigers and became a free agent.

Our View: The 30-year-old vet could help the Rockies' bullpen if needed for depth, but does not garner fantasy attention. He holds a career 3.84 ERA.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/15, 4:40 PM CT
MLive.com is reporting that Juan Rincon did not accept his minor league assignment and instead chose to terminate the remainder of his contract with the Tigers. He will now become a free agent.

Our View: Rincon should catch on with someone, but he has no fantasy value regardless of where he goes. He struggled this season with the Tigers, but he did manage to strike out ten hitters in 10.1 innings pitched. There is an outside chance he could be an option for holds depending on where he catches on, but right now he should not be owned in any league.

Juan Rincon has been designated for assignment by the Tigers, according to the Detroit Free Press. Rincon was moved to make room for Dontrelle Willis on the roster.

Our View: Rincon inked a minor league deal back in January, and failed to keep his spot in the Tigers' bullpen as he allowed six earned runs and six walks over 10.1 innings of work.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 1/20, 10:33 AM CT
Juan Rincon has signed a minor league deal with the Tigers, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He held a poor 5.86 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 55.1 innings served between Cleveland and Minnesota in 2008, and doesn't look to hold much fantasy value if he manages to make the Tigers' roster.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 11/1, 5:51 PM CT
Juan Rincon has filed for free agency, according to MLB.com. He said, "I told them I don't want to be bouncing around. I hope we can work something out. I like the clubhouse and the atmosphere and my teammates here. They gave me a chance here, so why turn my back now? That's my feeling, but it's not up to me."

Our View: The Indians will have exclusive negotiating rights with him until November 13. Rincon pitched briefly with Triple-A Buffalo before joining the Indians in July. Over 23 outings, he went 1-1 with a 5.60 ERA, while striking out 19 and walking eight in 27.1 innings.

The Indians have purchased the minor league contract of pitcher Juan Rincon from Triple-A Buffalo, according to the AP. The move fills a roster spot that was created when ace hurler CC Sabathia was dealt to Milwaukee. Manager Eric Wedge commented, "He’s showing a good arm, a good slider. He has tremendous late-inning experience, and this is a good opportunity to get him in the mix."

Our View: He will work in middle relief out of the Indians' pen and holds no fantasy value in traditional leagues, especially since he maintained a 6.11 ERA and 1.75 WHIP over 28 innings this season.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 6/30, 11:58 AM CT
The Triple-A Bisons have activated Juan Rincon, according to the TribeTimeReport.com. The minor league club placed Ryan Mulhern on the DL, as a corresponding move.

Our View: The Indians believe that Rincon will return to their bullpen at some point this season, but he won't hold any fantasy value as he holds a 5.44 ERA over the last two years.

Juan Rincon, who was designated for assignment by the Twins last week, has signed a minor league deal with the Indians, according to MLB.com. He will report to Triple-A Buffalo.

Our View: He won't hold any fantasy value for this season, as he maintains a 5.44 ERA over the last two years.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 6/21, 10:07 PM CT
Juan Rincon has officially become a free agent, according to the AP. He was designated for assignment last week.

Our View: Rincon has sure fallen far over the last couple years. Someone will surely take a chance on him, though.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 6/14, 8:01 AM CT
Juan Rincon has turned down the chance to pitch for Triple-A Rochester, and the Twins have 10 days to trade or release him, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Our View: From 2003-06, Rincon was a solid setup man in the Twins bullpen, but fortunes can change quickly for relievers. The Twins will likely need to release him. Rincon should get a bullpen shot somewhere.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 6/12, 5:51 PM CT
Juan Rincon was outrighted to Triple-A on Thursday, according to The Sports Network. Rincon has three days to decide whether or not he wants to accept the assignment. Third baseman Brian Buscher was recalled to take the roster spot.

Our View: The Twins needed to reduce their staff from 13 pitchers, and given the fact that Rincon has been so ineffective this year, it's really no surprise that he was let go.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/11, 7:27 PM CT
Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters he still intends to cut the pitching staff from 13 members to 12 following tomorrow's game in Cleveland, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Gardenhire stopped short of naming which position player he will call up to fill that roster spot, though popular opinion has Brian Buscher as the likely candidate. Gardenhire has also held his decision of which pitcher will go. RHP Juan Rincon makes the most sense.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 6/7, 8:12 PM CT
The Twins need to cut down their roster from 13 pitches to 12, and it appears that the pitcher most likely to be released is Juan Rincon, according to MLB.com. "I wish I could make a better case [to stay] by pitching better, but if that's what it's going to be, it's what it's going to be," Rincon said.

Our View: Over his last eight appearances the once dominant setup man has an 8.68 ERA and would have to be placed on waivers in order to be sent to the minors. Whether or not anyone who claim him at this point is an unknown.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 3/8, 9:29 PM CT
With three runs already scored against Brian Duensing, reliever Juan Rincon pitched the Twins out of a bases-loaded, none-out situation in the fourth, striking out Nyjer Morgan and Jack Wilson, then getting Nate McLouth on a line drive to right in the Twins' 8-4 win over the Pirates in Grapefruit League action. Rincon is likely to be a strong force for Minnesota this year, working in relief of a starting rotation in flux. Their top starter, Johan Santana, is gone, leaving the bulk of the hope in the arms of unproven youth. Outings like this from Rincon provide a bit of relief looking forward.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 4/10, 9:04 AM CT
Juan Rincon threw in the bullpen before Monday's game and said he could have pitched if needed, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. He's coming back from a sore neck.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 4/9, 9:27 AM CT
The Twins are hoping to have Juan Rincon available for the start of the Yankees series Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He's dealing with a sore neck.
Juan Rincon, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 2/2, 4:43 PM CT
Juan Rincon and the Twins agreed to a one-year deal worth $2 million Friday, the AP reports. The sides avoided arbitration with the contract, and the salary landed in the middle of the two submissions.
