Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 7/10, 1:26 PM CT
Xavier Nady underwent successful Tommy John surgery earlier this week, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.

Our View: The Yankees believe he could be back by early next season, if he can come back at all that is. He shouldn't even be kept in keeper leagues at this point.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 7/1, 9:45 PM CT
Xavier Nady will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a partial tear in a ligament in his right elbow, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He is slated for surgery July 8, and will be headed for a lengthy recovery. This is unfortunate for Nady as he will become a free agent after the season.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 6/26, 6:10 PM CT
The New York Post is reporting that Xavier Nady will need to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery after suffering a setback in his minor league rehab assignment Thursday. He has been dealing with a partial tear in the ligament in his right elbow.

Our View: Skipper Joe Girardi noted that he is more disappointed for Nady than he is for the Yankees. The 32-year-old outfielder may miss a significant chunk of the 2010 campaign as well.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 6/25, 11:36 PM CT
Xavier Nady was forced to exit Thursday's minor league rehab game after injuring his right elbow on a throw from the outfield, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View: The 32-year-old outfielder will undergo tests Friday after suffering the setback, and he may be headed for Tommy John surgery. Nady has been trying to avoid surgery for a partial tear in the ligament in his right elbow.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 6/25, 9:45 AM CT
According to the Journal News, Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady played seven innings in right field for Triple-A Scranton on Wednesday. Nady went 1-for-3 with a double at the plate and did not see any action in right field.

Our View: The Yanks know Nady is capable of hitting, so they are probably a little disappointed that he didn't get any action in right field. It sounds like he is progressing well, so assuming things stay on course he could be back within the next week or so.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/22, 5:20 PM CT
Xavier Nady is set to start his minor league rehab assignment Wednesday, according to Tyler Kepner's twitter page. He is recovering from a partially torn elbow ligament.

Our View: Barring a setback, Nady could be ready to return to New York at some point next week. Nady has proven he is fit to roam the outfield again during an extended spring training game over the weekend.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 6/20, 7:28 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady played five innings in right field in Saturday's extended spring training game. The Yankees will make a decision on when Nady will begin a rehab assignment sometime in the next few days.

Our View: Now that Nady has proven that he is able to play the outfield, it seems likely that he will be able to begin a rehab assignment soon. He still needs to get a good deal of at-bats before he comes back, but he continues to get closer to a return.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 6/18, 9:13 AM CT
The Journal News is reporting that Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady is scheduled to play four innings in right field at extended spring training on Friday. Nady said his elbow is "probably 85, 90 percent throwing-wise. It continues to get better."

Our View: This is the first step in getting Nady back in the Yankees' lineup, as the team has required that he be able to play outfield upon his return. If all goes well tomorrow, Nady could be very close to a return to the team. Stay tuned, as it won't be long now.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 6/16, 3:03 PM CT
According to the Newark Star-Ledger, injured Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady spent some time throwing on Tuesday before the Yankees' game against the Nationals. Nady threw from about 100 feet and then moved to the outfield to do some throwing drills with coach Rob Thompson.

Our View: Nady is still rehabbing his sore elbow, and the Yankees have said they do not want to activate him until they feel comfortable with him being able to throw from the outfield. If today is any indication, it looks like he is pretty close. The report said he looked fine in all throwing drills from the outfield, so don't be shocked if Nady rejoins the Yanks in the near future.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 6/11, 9:34 AM CT
The Journal News reports that Xavier Nady could start his rehab assignment next week. His sore elbow is currently limiting him to swinging the bat. He will have to throw without pain and be able to play outfield prior to rejoining the Yankees.

Our View: Nady would give a powerful Yankees offense even more firepower. His left-handed bat should play very well in the new Yankee Stadium.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 6/9, 8:41 AM CT
According to the New York Daily News, Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk in an extended spring training game on Monday. Nady continues to throw at 75-90 feet, but the Yankees want him to be able to throw at 150 feet before they will activate him.

Our View: It sounds like Nady's bat is ready, but the Yankees aren't going to rush him back before he is able to throw. He is pain-free at 75-90 feet right now, but until he can go to 150 feet pain free he will stay away from the team. With a trip to national league parks in Florida, Atlanta, and New York (Mets) coming up, Nady will have to play the field before the Yanks can get him in the lineup.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/8, 9:23 AM CT
According to the Journal News, Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady will serve as the DH in a simulated game on Monday. Nady is attempting to return from a right elbow injury.

Our View: Nady is making solid progress in his comeback, and it is starting to look like he will be back with the Yanks sooner rather than later. Assuming all goes well today, it is likely that Nady will be very close to returning to the team.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 6/6, 1:56 PM CT
According to Bronx Baseball Daily, Xavier Nady threw from 75 and then went 1-for-4 with a double in a rehab game.

Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 6/5, 8:46 AM CT
The Journal News is reporting that Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady played catch for the third time on Thursday. Nady is prepared to start playing games as a DH, but the team wants him to be able to play the outfield before activating him.

Our View: It sounds like Nady is fairly close to a return. Playing catch is the first step, but if he is able to hit already then it seems like he is only one step away from rejoining the team. Assuming all goes well, expect him back within the next few weeks.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 6/2, 7:19 PM CT
Xavier Nady played catch Tuesday and felt better after feeling pain in his right elbow in his previous throwing session, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Nady will rest tomorrow and play catch again Thursday. This is encouraging news as Nady tries to avoid season-ending Tommy John surgery.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/1, 7:58 PM CT
Xavier Nady has suffered a setback in his rehab from a right elbow injury, according to MLB.com. Nady felt pain in his right elbow as he threw for the first time since he was hurt while making a return throw to the infield on April 14 against the Rays.

Our View: He is trying to avoid season-ending Tommy John surgery, and will attempt to resume throwing Tuesday. The Yankees were optimistic of having him return by the time they play in interleague games at NL parks starting June 19. The club is now less confident that will happen.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 5/30, 9:27 AM CT
Xavier Nady was 2-for-5 with a home run as a DH during an extended spring training game, according to the New York Post. He will not begin throwing until Monday, but could return to the Yankees as a DH before his elbow is 100 percent.

Our View: Once Nady does return, it will be hard for him to find an everyday job amongst a crowded outfield and DH spot. However, we expect him to see enough at bats to make a good impact in fantasy leagues.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 5/25, 1:49 PM CT
Xavier Nady, who is recovering from a partially-torn right elbow ligament, participated in a running session today, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Nady may work as a DH during a minor league game in the next few days. Nady could return to New York in mid-June, and shall remain stashed on fantasy rosters.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 5/21, 9:53 AM CT
Xavier Nady, who is recovering from a partially torn right elbow ligament, took batting practice Wednesday for the first time in over a month, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: He felt good after taking around 40 swings. He will continue to take batting practice for the next few days, and is optimistic of being ready to start a minor league rehab assignment next week.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSunday 5/10, 1:12 PM CT
Newsday is reporting that Xavier Nady is targeting a mid-June return from his partially torn right elbow ligament. Nady is expected to start swinging a bat sometime next weekend.

Our View: If things don't go well after Nady starts swinging, he may need Tommy John surgery which will sideline him for the rest of the year. If he comes back he could be a good pickup, but don't do anything until we find out what his status will be.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 4/21, 2:30 PM CT
SI.com is reporting that Xavier Nady has been diagnosed with a partially torn ligament in his right elbow and that he will avoid surgery. It had been thought that he would need season ending surgery to repair his elbow.

Our View: This is huge news for Nady and the Yankees. Nady will rehab his elbow and should only have to miss a few weeks, possibly a month. Club sources are saying he is feeling much better already. Nady could be a good pickup in most leagues since he was probably dropped when it was thought he was out for the year.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 4/17, 5:42 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that tests on Xavier Nady's elbow have raised more questions than answers. He will have another MRI on Saturday to try to determine the best course of action.

Our View: It appears as if doctors are at a loss as to what the problem is with Nady's elbow. Different tests have shown different things, but it is safe to say that Nady will be out of action for a very long time.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 4/16, 2:36 PM CT
Xavier Nady has officially been placed on the 15-day DL according to Slam! If the outfielder has to undergo Tommy John surgery as expected then he would miss the rest of the season. The Yankees called up pitcher David Robertson from Triple-A to fill his roster spot.

Our View: Nady's absence means that Nick Swisher will likely be the everyday right fielder and Hideki Matsui could see more at-bats than orginally anticipated.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 4/15, 1:35 PM CT
Updating a previous report, The Journal News is reporting that the MRI on Xavier Nady's elbow showed a tear and that surgery will be needed, causing him to be out for the season. Nady will see the team doctor in New York City on Thursday.

Our View: The news is as bad as we feared. Barring some sort of new news from the team doctor, Nady is no longer a fantasy contributor for the 2009 season. Nick Swisher will be the Yankees' new everyday center fielder.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 4/15, 12:20 PM CT
Newsday is reporting that Xavier Nady could be headed for a lengthy stay on the disabled list after feeling a sharp pain in his right elbow after making a throw in Tuesday's game.

Our View: This is terrible news for Nady owners, as it sounds as if surgery is a possibility. They will not know for sure until tests are done, so don't go dropping him yet, but stay tuned to his condition.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 4/3, 11:13 AM CT
The Giants like Xavier Nady, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated.

Our View: Nady was born in Carmel, California, and the Giants would not mind bringing him back to his native state at some point. If reeled in, he would add much needed power to the Giants' outfield.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 4/1, 11:55 AM CT
The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Xavier Nady was held out of Wednesday's game because of swelling in his elbow. He was hit by a pitch on Tuesday, but the Yankees are only calling the move precautionary. At this point, he should still be ready for opening day.

Our View: The Yanks will likely take a cautionary approach with Nady all season long as they look for more opportunities to get Nick Swisher in the lineup. Keep an eye on Nady as it is possible that the injury is worse than initially suspected.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 3/14, 7:16 PM CT
Xavier Nady went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Astros.

Our View: Nady is hitting a mere .200 this spring. He hit .305 last season, despite finishing the season ice cold. He will likely share right field duties with Nick Swisher this season.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 2/14, 7:15 AM CT
Xavier Nady is competing with Nick Swisher for the starting gig in right field, according to the NY Times. Skipper Joe Girardi said, "That is something we have to make a decision on in the next seven or eight weeks. If I were making the lineup today, would X be in it? Maybe. I cannot say for sure."

Our View: Swisher was going to work at first base until the club reeled in Mark Teixeira. Nady offers more offensively, and should win the spot in right. He is worth drafting as a fourth outfielder for mixed leagues.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 1/20, 2:06 PM CT
The Yankees have avoided salary arbitration with Xavier Nady by signing the outfielder to a one-year deal for $6.55 million, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Nady earned the solid payday for 2009 by hitting .305 in 2008, with 25 homers and 97 RBI.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 1/16, 9:02 AM CT
The Braves were unable to meet the Yankees' trade demands for outfielder Xavier Nady, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 1/12, 9:40 AM CT
According to the Boston Globe, the Mets are a possible suitor for Yankee outfielder Xavier Nady. Other teams mentioned are the Angels and Giants.

Our View: Other sources have reported that a trade among the New York teams involving Nady is unlikely since the Mets are seeking bolstering their rotation and the Yanks are seeking a fourth of fifth starter type in return for Nady.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 1/10, 6:05 PM CT
The Nationals are interested in Yankees outfielder Xavier Nady, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Nationals have been looking into improving their offense all offseason through free agency, but are starting to get desperate after being spurned by Mark Teixeira and Milton Bradley.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 1/8, 8:32 PM CT
Xavier Nady's name has come up as potential option for the Pirates, though a deal with the Yankees seems a bit far fetched, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View: Huh? Wasn't Nady already on the Pirates? In the bizarro world that is the Yankees anything is possible, but this doesn't seem like a good fit since the Pirates are unlikely to give up a hoard of prospects for Nady's bat.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 1/7, 5:30 PM CT
The Reds have held talks with the Yankees regarding Xavier Nady among other players, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View: Nady was somewhat of a disappointment after the Yankees acquired him from Pittsburgh last season. He finished the season with 25 home run and 97 RBI, while hitting .305.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesTuesday 1/6, 4:14 PM CT
According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.com, the Yankees recent acquisition of free-agent first baseman Mark Teixeira has created a log jam in the New York outfield, which now has the team possibly looking to shop the versatile Xavier Nady.

Our View: Nady, 30, who is a free agent after the 2009 season, has drawn interest from several teams because of ability to play both right and left field and first base. The names of the teams interested have not been released.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSunday 9/28, 5:24 PM CT
Xavier Nady hit his 12th home run as a Yankee on Sunday, this time off of Daisuke Matsuzaka. He was 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Our View: Nady was not the answer the Yankees were seeking at the dealine. While he hit .330 in 89 games with Pittsburgh, he hit just .268 with New York.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 9/15, 9:28 PM CT

Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 8/9, 12:12 AM CT
Xavier Nady had two more hits on Friday night as he improved to .370 since joining the Yankees.

Our View: Nady went deep for the fifth time on the night and has 13 RBI in just 13 games since going to the Bronx Zoo. Seems like all the attention hasn't gotten to him one bit.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 8/4, 2:54 PM CT
Yankees' outfielder Xavier Nady and Royals' shortstop Mike Aviles were named American League co-Players of the Week, according to the AP. Nady batted .526 (10-for-19) with three home runs and 10 RBI, and capped the week with a career-best six RBI in Sunday’s 14-9 win over the Angels. Aviles batted .577 (15-for-26) with two homers and five RBI last week, and registered a 1.000 slugging percentage and .583 on-base percentage.

Our View: This is Nady's second weekly honor this season, his last time coming in the NL with Pittsburgh.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSunday 8/3, 3:47 PM CT
For the Yankees, it was newly-acquired outfielder Xavier Nady's turn to shine, hitting a three-run homer as part of a six-run effort in the bottom of the seventh, coming from behind to beat the Angels 14-9. Nady went 4-for-5 on the day, including his 29th double of the season, totaling six RBIs and one run scored.

Our View: New York fans, meet what may be your most prized acquisition among many made at the deadline. Nady is now hitting an impressive .334 on the season, having hit .364 through July with five homers and 12 RBIs.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 8/1, 7:23 PM CT
Xavier Nady will be held out of the Yankees lineup on Friday because of an inflammed right quadriceps, according to the Associated Press. “You want to be smart and not lose him for an extended period,” manager Joe Girardi said.

Our View: Nady will be available to pinch hit, and this certainly doesn't appear to be a DL type injury at the moment.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSunday 7/27, 11:42 PM CT
Xavier Nady is still looking for his first hit as a Yankee. He is 0-for-8 since being traded from Pittsburgh to the Bronx. He left five runners on base in Sunday's 9-2 loss to the Red Sox.

Our View: Nady should put it together sooner or later but he will miss Pittsburgh. He had been playing well above his head there this year and you should not expect the same amount of production from him in a Yankees uniform. He is still a worthy starter though.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 7/26, 11:13 AM CT
The recently-completed trade for outfielder Xavier Nady may be in the process of minor revisions, according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.

Our View: The deal is pending a review of medical records, sources say. The Pirates were to receive a package of four minor-league players, expected to be Class AAA right-hander Ross Ohlendorf, Class AA left-hander Phil Coke and righty George Kontos and Class AA outfielder Jose Tabata. However, the teams have discussed substituting Class AAA right-handers Jeff Karstens and Daniel McCutchen for Kontos and Coke, according to a source familiar with the talks.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 7/25, 7:23 PM CT
The New York Yankees made a big move, acquiring outfielder Xavier Nady from the Pittsburgh Pirates in return for four prospects, according to SI.com.

Our View: Bad news for NL-only fantasy players with Nady on their roster, but great news for their AL-only counterparts. Nady has been a fantasy stalwart this year, hitting .330 with 13 home runs and 57 RBI.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 7/23, 5:02 PM CT
Xavier Nady extended his hitting streak to 12-games on Wednesday thanks to two hits. He also scored twice.

Our View: Nady is hitting a robust .328 with 56 RBI on the year, and with each passing day his cost in a trade seems to grow in proportion to his work on the diamond. If he is moved he shouldn't lose much value if any as he will certainly continue to operate as a starter wherever he ends up.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 7/23, 7:36 AM CT
The Phillies have joined the list of interested teams for Xavier Nady, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Phillies are also interested in reliever Damaso Marte.

Our View: Nady should be back in action by Saturday.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 7/16, 10:29 AM CT
The asking price for Xavier Nady appears to be extraordinarily high right now, according to ESPN's Buster Olney. Rival executives have a sense that the Pirates are not going to lower their demands before the trade deadline.

Our View: The Pirates are obviously going nowhere, and Nady will be arbitration-eligible this winter, so you can bet the team will do what they can to deal him.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSunday 7/13, 3:58 PM CT
Xavier Nady had three more hits today, as he continues to draw interest from contending teams. He went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, and is now hitting .321 with 56 RBI on the year.

Our View: Nady is a leading candidate to get traded near the deadline, and if he continues to perform like this, his price will only go up.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSunday 7/13, 8:26 AM CT
The New York Yankees are interested in Pirates outfielder Xavier Nady, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Tampa Bay and the New York Mets are also interested, according to the paper.

Our View: Nady would be a help to any of the big leagues teams mentioned above, and is helping fantasy owners with his overall good numbers. Losing him would be a blow to fantasy owners in NL-only leagues, but a boon for their counterparts in AL-only leagues.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 7/7, 10:10 PM CT
Xavier Nady went 2-for-5 with two RBI and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Houston Astros 10-7 on Monday night.

Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 7/2, 9:27 PM CT
The Pirates brought plenty of offense to the park this evening, beating up on the Cincinnati Reds 9-5. Outfielder Xavier Nady was the force of reckoning at the plate, going 3-for-5 with not one but two home runs (his 11th and 12th of the year) to total three RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Nady has been strong for Pitt this season, hitting .278 last month despite injury struggles. If he can get his run production back on track, he could make fantasy owners very happy.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesThursday 6/26, 10:17 AM CT
Xavier Nady, who has recovered from his bruised left shoulder, is expected to return to the Pirates' lineup Thursday against the Yankees, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Our View: He took full batting practice Wednesday for the second day in a row. He should return to fantasy lineups, despite a tough first game back against Mike Mussina, who is 10-5. Nady is hitting .314 with 10 homers and 49 RBI over 66 contests in 2008.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesWednesday 6/25, 8:07 AM CT
Xavier Nady, out since June 14 because of a bruised left shoulder, is expected to play tonight after working through a successful batting practice session on Tuesday.

Our View: Nady will be welcomed back by his teammates and fantasy owners, but faces off against the Yankees big right-hander, Joba Chamberlain, as the Pirates host the Yankees in a Wednesday evening tilt.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/23, 10:01 AM CT
Xavier Nady is not expected to play on Tuesday against the Yankees, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View: His bruised left shoulder still hurts when he swings, and remains a possibility to land on the DL. Nady will have a light workout and his first full batting practice Tuesday.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesFriday 6/20, 8:13 PM CT
Xavier Nady (shoulder) will miss the weekend series with the Blue Jays, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Nady has been able to swing the bat and even took BP on Friday, but he is still a way from returning. He will be reevaluated on Monday, and if he isn't ready to go by then, look for the team to finally place him on the DL.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/16, 2:17 PM CT
Xavier Nady's MRI results have revealed that he sustained a sprained left shoulder, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. There is no damage to the cuff or labrum.

Our View: The team will take the next two to three days to decide what to do next with Nady, and there is no plan to put him on the DL, as of now.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/16, 10:18 AM CT
Xavier Nady is scheduled for an MRI on his ailing left shoulder on Monday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Nady hopes he only sustained a bruise, and Manager John Russell added, "It's definitely not as bad as we initially thought it might be. Your first instinct is, 'Well, he's hurt pretty bad.' But we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves until after the MRI."

Our View: If the MRI checks out fine, Nady will fly to Chicago to join his team-mates, who have today off before beginning a three-game set against the White Sox Tuesday night. When he plays again won't be immediately known, however. The team will need to determine what he can handle when the pain subsides.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesSaturday 6/14, 11:04 PM CT
Pittsburgh outfielder Xavier Nady left tonight's loss versus Baltimore in the ninth innigns with what appears to be a left shoulder injury, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Nady was chasing a fly ball and ran into the wall in foul territory. He left the field under his own power and was replaced by Jason Michaels. The Pirates have announced nothing, but we expect Nady will be looked at by doctors and his status will be updated early tomorrow. We will bring that to you when it is put to the press.
Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/9, 3:46 PM CT
Xavier Nady returned to the Pirates' lineup and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 5-3 win over Arizona.

Xavier Nady, RF, New York YankeesMonday 6/9, 10:13 AM CT
Xavier Nady missed his second-straight game on Sunday due in inflammation above his left ankle, but the ailment is not believed to be serious, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He said, "I'll be all right. It's kept me from doing some things, but I'll just have to play through it."

Our View: He sustained the injury June 1 against the Cardinals. He iced down the ailment on Sunday, and walked without a limp afterward, and could have played if needed, but manager John Russell decided to hold him out. He could return Monday.
