Kyle Snyder, P, New York MetsTuesday 3/9, 11:54 PM CT
Kyle Snyder has signed a minor league contract with the Mets.

Our View: Snyder was in the Mets system in 2009, as well. He has thrown just 1.2 big league innings since the end of the 2007 season, and is simply being kept around for organizational depth purposes.

Kyle Snyder has been signed to a minor-league deal by the Mets and given an invitation to major league spring training, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Snyder only made two appearances in the majors last year, racking up a 21.60 ERA in 1.2 innings with the Red Sox. He won't have any fantasy value with the Mets.

The Red Sox have sent Kyle Snyder outright to Triple-A Pawtuckett, according to the Boston Herald. He was designated for assigment on April 6.

Our View: He was reportedly on the trading block prior to his designation, with the Tigers, Rays, and Phillies believed to be interested teams.

Kyle Snyder will be designated for assignment to make room for the activation of Josh Beckett, this according to the Boston Globe. This move hasn't been officially announced yet, but when it does it will mean that the Sox will lose Snyder who is out of options and cannot be sent to minors. As a result of this move, it would appear that David Aardsma will continue to hold a spot in the Red Sox bullpen.

The Red Sox have announced that Kyle Snyder will take the roster spot of the injured Tim Wakefield, according to the Boston Herald. Snyder, who posted a 3.81 ERA in 46 appearances this year, figures to be used in long relief.

Until Tim Wakefield returns to action, and it appears unclear exactly when that will be, Kyle Snyder will remain in the Red Sox rotation, according to the official team website. Snyder is 3-2 with a 5.35 ERA in 11 games (five starts) for Boston this season.
