Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 9/9, 12:29 AM CT
Aaron Rowand collected two hits and homered on Tuesday night, but couldn't prevent the Giants from losing a crucial game to the Padres 4-3 at home.

Our View: Rowand has been exhibit A for why the Giants offense has failed to deliver more victories this season, hitting just 14 home runs in 126 games.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 9/5, 6:30 PM CT
Aaron Rowand helped lead the Giants in Saturday's 3-2 win at Milwaukee, as he went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Our View: Rowand has a four-game hitting streak, with three RBI over the span.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 8/21, 11:57 PM CT
Aaron Rowand provided an offensive boost for the Giants in a Wild Card battle with the Rockies on Friday. He went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Giants' 6-3 win.

Our View: Rowand has been solid for the Giants this month, hitting .302 with a pair of homers and ten RBI. San Fran will need similar production out of him for the rest of the season if they're going to make a legit October push.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 8/17, 9:09 PM CT
Aaron Rowand had a solid outing in tonight's 10-1 win at the Mets, as he went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. He hit three singles and a solo homer off Livan Hernandez.

Our View: Rowand raised his batting average to .273, and snapped a 30-game drought without a homer. He was hitless over his last five games as well, and hopefully fantasy owners won't have to wait long for his next good performance.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 8/10, 5:52 PM CT
Aaron Rowand is out of Monday's lineup due to his strained hamstring, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Eugenio Velez will roam in center field in his place against the Dodgers. The Giants did not speculate when Rowand may be ready to return.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 8/3, 6:56 PM CT
Aaron Rowand is in Monday's lineup at Houston, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Rowand was struck on his elbow by a pitch on Saturday, but was deemed fit to return to action. He should be fine to return to fantasy lineups if he fares fine without any issues tonight.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 8/2, 8:48 AM CT
Aaron Rowand (elbow) is questionable for the Giants today in their game against the Phillies, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Rowand recently sat for 10 days after being hit in the right arm by Atlanta's Tommy Hanson and had to exit Saturday's contest after being belted in the elbow by Philadelphia's Joe Blanton. Still, X-rays of the elbow came back negative, and thus he may be able to give it a go today. Still, a fringe player when healthy, Rowand should not be played today with his availability up in the air.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 7/27, 10:45 PM CT
Aaron Rowand's MRI on his right forearm found a slight tear, according to the Mercury News.

Our View: Rowand will not be able to roam the outfield for a couple of days, but he could see action as a pinch-hitter. The Giants did not speculate if they believe a trip to the DL will be needed.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 7/25, 9:05 PM CT
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Aaron Rowand will undergo an MRI on Monday if he doesn't show improvement in his bruised forearm.

Our View: Rowand is out of the lineup again. He played catch before the game and reported some moderate improvement, but not enough to get him in the game. The team is concerned with his status and the MRI seems likely. Stay tuned as a DL stint may be looming.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 7/24, 7:58 PM CT
Aaron Rowand remains out of the Giants' lineup for tonight's game at Colorado while dealing with numbness in his forearm stemming from being struck by a Tommy Hanson fastball, according to the Mercury News.

Our View: Veteran Randy Winn will roam in center field in his place. The Giants do not expect Rowand to land on the DL.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 7/23, 12:28 PM CT
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Aaron Rowand (elbow) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Braves.

Our View: Rowand has now miss three consecutive starts with a sore elbow. He apparently tried to throw before the game, but was too sore and the Giants didn't want to risk further injury. Keep him on your bench until he's 100 percent.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 7/4, 5:46 PM CT
Aaron Rowand was 2-for-4 with two RBIs on the Fourth of July, as the Giants easily beat Houston 9-0.

Our View: Rowand doesn't provide a ton of power or an overwhelming amount of hits, but is still a decent outfield option in most deeper mixed or NL-only leagues.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 7/2, 9:02 PM CT
Aaron Rowand went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer off Todd Wellemeyer in tonight's 5-2 loss at St. Louis. He also struck out twice.

Our View: Rowand snapped a nine-game drought without a homer, and has nine for the season. Five of his home runs were hit away from pitcher-friendly AT&T Park.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 6/30, 9:22 AM CT
Aaron Rowand could sit out tonight after getting plunked on the left knee with a pitch in the Giants 10-0 win over St. Louis on Monday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Our View: The injury is not serious, but manager Bruce Bochy might be inclined to give him one day off. Be sure to check around game time tonight whether or not he is going.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 6/20, 11:58 PM CT
Aaron Rowand pounded a homer in the Giants' 2-1 extra innings win on Saturday. Rowand went 1-for-5 with the homer, a run scored, and an RBI in the win.

Our View: Both pitchers were excellent tonight, so Rowand provided much of the offense with his one swing. He is still a decent fantasy outfielder, but he will never be a top guy.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 6/12, 11:49 PM CT
Aaron Rowand went 1-for-4 with a single and two RBI in Friday's 3-0 win over the A's at AT&T Park.

Our View: Rowand has a four-game hitting streak, with three RBI over the span. Keep him employed in fantasy lineups while he is hitting well.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 6/11, 6:00 PM CT
Aaron Rowand collected two hits in the Giants 2-1 loss to Arizona on Thursday, and has now hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games.

Our View: Before this stretch started, Rowand was hitting only .246. He has collected 35 hits during the span and raised his average to .311. He is worth a roster spot in NL only or deeper mixed leagues.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 6/6, 10:40 PM CT
Aaron Rowand drove in two runs on Saturday in the Giants' 5-4 loss to the Florida Marlins. Rowand went 2-for-5 in the game, with both of his hits being singles.

Our View: Rowand is hitting a respectable .305 on the season, but his power is leaving something to be desired. He is an unspectacular fantasy player, but he can still provide solid production for any fantasy lineup. He is not a star, but he is a nice third outfielder in most mixed league formats.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 6/1, 10:59 AM CT
The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Giants' center fielder Aaron Rowand was lifted in the eighth inning of Sunday's game after rolling his ankle. Rowand will be re-evaluated when the team arrives in Washington, but he is expected to play Tuesday.

Our View: The injury looks minor, but Rowand owners will want to monitor the situation to make sure he stays in the lineup. Expect him to play Tuesday, but we will pass on any new information to the contrary should it arise.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 5/26, 11:50 PM CT
Aaron Rowand doubled and drove in two runs in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Braves. He was 1-for-4 on the night.

Our View: The gutsy Rowand is hitting .273 this season with five homers and 21 RBI, but he's more valuable to the Giants than he is on a fantasy roster. Plus, he's making a lot of money to put up average stats.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 5/16, 6:53 PM CT
Aaron Rowand had three hits on Saturday in the Giants' 9-6 loss to the Mets. Rowand was 3-for-4 with a home run, a run, and three RBI.

Our View: Rowand has had a slow start to the year, but he looked good at the dish today. Don't expect huge power numbers from Rowand this season, but he could be a decent option in NL-only leagues if he starts to pick it up at the plate.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 4/23, 7:06 AM CT
Andres Torres started in center field Wednesday because Aaron Rowand is dealing with a twisted ankle sustained on a relay throw in Tuesday's game, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Rowand's status for Friday's game at Arizona is yet to be determined. Nate Schierholtz is the only position player that has not made a start for the Giants, and skipper Bruce Bochy noted that he would like to change that soon.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 4/15, 4:33 PM CT
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the White Sox may be interested in Giants' outfielder Aaron Rowand, if the price is right.

Our View: The Giants are looking to unload Rowand and the $44 million left on his contract. The White Sox are a good fit, but GM Kenny Williams won't move an inch unless the Giants are prepared to eat a considerable amount of Rowand's salary.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 4/13, 7:13 AM CT
Aaron Rowand was held out of Sunday's game against San Diego as he is 0-for-10 over his career versus opposing hurler Chris Young, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Skipper Bruce Bochy also sat him to keep him healthier, namely to prevent another second-half collapse like in 2008. Bochy admitted that he wore Rowand down last season, and rarely rested him down the stretch.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 4/9, 12:34 AM CT
Aaron Rowand was 2-for-4 with a run scored on Wednesday as his Giants fell to the Brewers 4-2. He's hitting .571 so far this season.

Our View: Don't expect Rowand to put up the numbers he did in 2007. He's more like the .270-13-70 man he was last year. Expect a repeat of that.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 4/7, 7:19 PM CT
Aaron Rowand was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in the Giants' 10-6 win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Our View: Rowand's homer was arguably the biggest hit of the day for the Giants. Trailing 5-4 in the fourth, Rowand drove in the two runs that gave San Francisco a lead it would not relinquish.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 9/21, 8:05 PM CT
Aaron Rowand had two hits on Sunday, Eugenio Velez had three, while no other Giant had more than a single hit against the Dodgers.

Our View: For all that money, 5-years and $60 million, the Giants have gotten a .276-13-69-56-2 season out of Rowand who has but one extra base hit in 60 AB in September, and no, it wasn't a home run (it was a double). Rowand will likely improve a bit next season, but don't go looking to a .300-25 season anytime soon.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 9/16, 1:44 PM CT
Giants outfielder Aaron Rowand has not been hitting for power lately, and he does not have an extra-base hit in the month of September, covering 45 at-bats, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Our View: Rowand has been a disappointment this season for fantasy owners, who expected more of what he gave us last season. Instead, he has hit just 13 home runs, which is currently tied for the least amount he has had in a season with at least 140 at-bats.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 9/9, 7:28 AM CT
Aaron Rowand's fantasy football team has been hit hard by injuries as he drafted Tom Brady as his starter and Vince Young (knee injury) as his backup, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: We're here if you need us Mr. Rowand.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 8/15, 11:39 PM CT

Aaron Rowand sat out Friday's game, a day after exited a game with tightness in his back, according to MLB.com. "I feel a lot better today," said Rowand.

Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 8/14, 2:54 PM CT
Aaron Rowand left Thursday's game in the second inning against the Astros due to tightness in his lower back, according to the AP.

Our View: Rowand suffered the injury in the top of the first, when he flied out to right field. Fred Lewis replaced him in the lineup. We will keep you posted when more details are disclosed regarding Rowand's status.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 8/12, 10:26 PM CT
One night after striking out four times, Giants outfielder Aaron Rowand redeemed himself, going 2-for-4 with a home run, though it was not enough as San Francisco succumbed to the Astros.

Our View: Shockingly, Rowand leads the Giants with his 11 home runs. He's a decent fantasy play, but there isn't one thing that he excels at, instead offering average production in all phases.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 8/11, 10:23 PM CT
Aaron Rowand had a golden sombrero on Monday night as he came to the plate four times and went back to the dugout with four strikeouts.

Our View: Rowand continues to strike out a lot while not walking very often, with the result being a a poor 0.36 BB/K ratio. He clearly wont match his production from last season (.309-27-89), but he has still been solid this year (.285-10-61) without being someone to bank on.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 8/6, 6:03 PM CT
Aaron Rowand notched his 10th homer of the year and drove in all three runs for the Giants Wednesday in a 3-2 win over Atlanta.

Our View: Rowand's .282-10-60 line doesn't exactly scream $60 million, but did anyone think he'd end up being worthy of that contract?
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 7/26, 11:09 PM CT
Aaron Rowand went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Giants loss to Arizona. He raised his batting average to .292 with the performance.

Our View: Before today's game, Rowand's average had dropped more than 50 points since it was .340 on June 1. He won't make up that much ground the rest of the season, but his 55 RBI are solid enough to keep him in fantasy lineups.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 7/10, 3:33 PM CT
Aaron Rowand struck out twice in the Giants 7-3 loss to the New York Mets. In his last four games, he has gone 2-for-14.

Our View: Despite his mini-slump, Rowand is hitting nearly .300 with eight home runs and 47 RBI, so stick with him on your fantasy team.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 7/5, 11:22 PM CT
Aaron Rowand had two hits and an RBI in the Giants 5-2 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday night.

Our View: After seeing his average dip under .300 for a about a week he is now back up to .303 thanks to a run of seven hits in his last three games for the G-men.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 7/4, 6:51 PM CT
Aaron Rowand went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI in Friday's 10-7 loss to the Dodgers at home. He registered two singles and a double, his 25th of the season.

Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 6/8, 1:03 PM CT
Aaron Rowand is back in the lineup Sunday after missing Saturday's game with a sore right quadriceps. "He's good to go and feels 100 percent," manager Bruce Bochy said on MLB.com.

Our View: Rowand said he sat out yesterday just as a precaution, so it's not surprising to see him back in there today.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 6/7, 7:00 PM CT
Aaron Rowand was not in the Giants lineup on Saturday due to a sore right quadriceps, according to MLB.com. "[Manager Bruce Bochy's] just taking precaution," Rowand said. "It's tender, and he doesn't want to take a chance. We're just going to give it a day to calm down."

Our View: Rowand is said to be available to pinch hit, and he hopes to return to action on Sunday which is vital for a Giants offense that simply can't replace Rowand's bat (.328 average).
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 6/6, 11:26 PM CT
Aaron Rowand will be re-examined on Saturday after leaving Friday's game in the seventh inning with an injury to his right quad, according to the AP.

Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 6/6, 9:25 PM CT

Our View: We'll let you know more on Rowand's injury when info becomes available.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 5/31, 6:32 PM CT
Aaron Rowand went 1-for-4 and recorded the lone RBI for the Giants in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Padres.

Our View: Rowand is hitting .335 with 34 RBI over 52 games this season. He closed out May with 20 RBI.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 5/20, 11:24 PM CT
There was plenty of offense for those seeking to watch hitters hit, but it was the Giants prevailing 6-5 over the Colorado Rockies this evening in a game that saw two Giant hitters (infielder Rich Aurilia and catcher Benji Molina) go 3-for-4 at the plate while a third, outfielder Aaron Rowand , produced the runs. Rowand went 2-for-5 with two singles, but he managed to gather two RBIs on the evening.

Our View: Rowand enjoyed a hot April but has cooled a bit in May, going 21-for-65 with just three home runs and eight RBIs.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsFriday 5/16, 3:30 PM CT
Peter Magowan will officially step down from his spot as San Francisco Giants General Manager at the end of the year, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Macgowan, rumored to be on his way for about a week, will be replaced by William Neukon.

Our View: While this obviously isn't fantasy news, it is noteworthy for the fact that no man was more responsible for keeping the Giants in San Francisco. If Macgowan hadn't stepped up there would likely be no team in S.F., and the team in Tampa would be called the Tampa Bay Giants.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 5/15, 9:41 PM CT
Aaron Rowand continues to be a force in the middle of the Giants batting order as he had two hits and two RBI for the Giants.

Our View: Rowand is hitting .333 but only has 20 RBI on the year thanks to batting behind the lumbering Bengie Molina who can barely score on a home run. If Rowand continues to bat behind Molina, his RBI totals will likely lag behind his other numbers.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 5/15, 12:37 AM CT
CF Aaron Rowand was the voice of offense for the Giants in their 6-3 loss to the Houston Astros, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs earned on his fifth home run of the season.

Our View: Rowand continues to hit well in the month of May, but he still managed to strand three runners on base.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 5/10, 7:37 PM CT
Four different players picked up three or more hits for the Giants today as they romped over the Phillies, 8-2. One of those players was CF Aaron Rowand , going 3-for-4 with his fourth home run of the year. Rowand ended with two runs scored, one RBI, and one strikeout on the day.

Our View: You won't find a hotter bat on the left coast as Rowand has posted at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games, going 17-for-39 (.436) over that same span.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 5/6, 2:00 PM CT
Aaron Rowand is hot right now, as he is batting .383, with six doubles, three homers, and 11 RBI over his last 16 games, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Rowand is hitting .337 overall this season, and should remain in your lineups while he's hot, especially tonight against Pirates' hurler Zack Duke, who is 0-2 with a 4.79 ERA.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 4/30, 7:36 PM CT
San Francisco CF Aaron Rowand enjoyed a nice day at the park, helping his Giants to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. Rowand went 2-for-4 at the plate, hitting his second home run of the season in the 2nd inning off RHP Ubaldo Jimenez.

Our View: Rowand certainly enjoyed facing the Rockies these last few days, going a combined 6-for-11 with four RBIs and no strike outs.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 4/24, 1:03 AM CT
Aaron Rowand went 3-for-6 with an RBI on Wednesday night for the Giants who won in 13 innings.

Our View: Rowand has battled injury as he often does, but his bat is heating up as he is now up to .338 in the average category. Rowand isn't likely to pop another 27 home runs in San Francisco, but he will still be a useful hitter if he can stay on the field.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 4/19, 3:10 PM CT
The Giants dedicated big dollars to add free-agent outfielder Aaron Rowand to the club this offseason, and his performance today shows why. Rowand went 3-for-4 at the plate, hitting his first home run of the year off Joel Pineiro and collecting two RBI along the way.

Our View: Rowand was struggling a bit to start the season but appears to be findin his groove at the plate.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 4/13, 2:29 PM CT
San Francisco OF Aaron Rowand is expected to return to the field of play on Monday, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Hampered by sore ribs bruised while diving for a ball on April 2nd, Rowand has attempted to play through the pain but found it too painful to endure. Manager Bruce Bochy believes Rowand is dying to get back to action and suggests he’ll be back on the prowl tomorrow. “He would go out there. He wants to play,” said Bochy. “We’re going to give him an extra day. With that way [John] Bowker swung the bat, it allows you to do that. There’s no point in pushing it with Aaron.” Bowker started in relief of Rowand on Saturday and, in his first major league start ever, singled and homered. However, Rowand is all but set to return on Monday and reclaim his spot in center field.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 4/10, 11:19 AM CT
Aaron Rowand continues to play in pain, according to the Mercury News. The Giants determined two X-rays on Rowand's sore rib cage as "inconclusive," and Manager Bochy noted that MRI results did not show anything new. Aaron Rowand had a tough day at the plate against Seattle on Thursday, as he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, while leaving three men on base. His spring average still remains strong at .305 and he should enjoy a productive season with his new club by the bay.

Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 3/10, 10:54 AM CT
Aaron Rowand has urged the Giants to make a play for White Sox third baseman Joe Crede, according to the Chicago Tribune. Rowand stated that Crede would no doubt help the Giants and added that he's healthy now and could be in line for his best season. He also admits that he is biased, which is understandable since they enjoyed one of the most magical seasons ever with the Sox in 2005. While Crede is not likely to live up to Rowand's expectations, the fact remains that the Giants do need a third baseman.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 12/12, 3:11 PM CT
The Giants signed Aaron Rowand to a five-year contract Wednesday, according to the AP. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but he'll likely receive somewhere from $10-12 million per year. Rowand is coming off a career season, hitting .309 with 27 homers and 89 RBI, but he's unlikely to re-produce those numbers in 2008, especially since he won't be hitting in Citizens Bank Park.
