Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 2/23, 1:58 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson has signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Our View: Wilkerson last appeared in the major leagues in 2008 as a member of the Blue Jays. He hit just four home runs that season in 104 combined games between Toronto and Seattle. Consider him unlikely to make the Phillies.

The Providence Journal reports that Brad Wilkerson is retiring from baseball. He played two games at Triple-A Pawtucket this April.

Our View: Wilkerson was a solid pro for eight seasons, but he has not been much of a fantasy factor over the last four seasons. The 31-year-old endured multiple shulder injuries that robbed him of his once powerful bat.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 4/9, 8:19 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson will be in uniform for Triple-A Pawtucket's season opener Friday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Wilkerson struck out 18 times over 42 at-bats with the Red Sox in spring training, and could not beat Chris Carter for the final spot on the roster. Wilkerson holds no fantasy value for now.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 4/4, 11:06 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson has accepted an assignment to Triple-A Pawtucket, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: He will need to cut down on his strikeouts before the Red Sox will consider promoting him. For now, Wilkerson holds no fantasy value.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 3/29, 11:02 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson has at least temporarily left the Red Sox to consider his options, which suggests that he is out of the mix for a reserve role in the outfield, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: That would leave Jeff Bailey and Chris Carter duking it out for the final reserve role on the positional roster. Wilkerson would not have held much fantasy value if he hung on to make the Sox.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 3/5, 5:52 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson hit his first homerun of the spring against Puerto Rico on Thursday.

Our View: Wilkerson needs to continue to show off his power if he wants to make the Red Sox roster. Once a fantasy staple, he now has virtually no value as he's battling for a reserve spot.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 3/4, 9:33 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson is off to a slow start as he only hit a pair of singles in 10 at-bats in preseason action, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Wilkerson cannot afford to struggle at the plate, with Paul McAnulty, Jeff Bailey and Chris Carter battling him for a reserve roster spot.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 2/28, 10:40 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson had a huge day for the Red Sox on Saturday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs. His other hit was a double.

Our View: Wilkerson could be a great bench player for the Red Sox, but shouldn't have any fantasy value unless Boston suffers a rash of injuries.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 2/23, 9:19 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson was struck in the right shoulder by a fastball from Jon Lester Sunday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Other than a bruise, Wilkerson should be fine. He provides the versatility to play in the outfield as well as first base. He would be worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues if he makes the club out of spring training.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 2/3, 5:36 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Wilkerson is a bench player at best and will have a battle to make the Red Sox opening day roster. Wilkerson hit just .220 with four home runs and 28 RBI last season.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 2/2, 11:14 PM CT
MLBTradeRumors.com reports that the Red Sox have signed 31-year-old outfielder Brad Wilkerson to a minor-league deal.

Our View: Wilkerson's best seasons are behind him. He is a career .247 hitter and he has not hit better than .234 over the past three seasons.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 9/2, 1:29 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson has been activated from the DL following his bout with back spasms, according to the AP.

Our View: Wilkerson only hit .219 with three homers over 251 at-bats this season, and holds no fantasy value for the final month of the regular season.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 8/22, 5:43 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson has been put on the DL by the Toronto Blue Jays with back spasms, according to The Sports Network.

Our View: Wilkerson is hitting all of .219 with three home runs and has no fantasy value anywhere.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 5/24, 3:34 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson was 1-for-4 in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Royals. His one hit, a first inning Grand Slam off KC starter Luck Hochevar.

Our View: Wilkerson, who was recently picked up by the Jays after being released by the Mariners, was hitting .174 with one home run and three RBI in 13 games with Toronto.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 5/21, 5:18 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson will remain in the leadoff spot for the foreseeable future, according to the Toronto Globe and Mail. Manager John McLaren likes Wilkerson in the one hole, where he's started six of the last seven games.

Our View: And why shouldn't McLaren like Wilkerson in the spot? I mean, he's hit .184 with a pristine .262 OBP in 11 games since joining the Jays. Wilkerson draws some walks and has a bit of pop, but his dismal batting average makes him a poor fit for the leadoff spot, or for any other spot in the lineup for that matter.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 5/12, 5:10 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson started in right field and leadoff for the Blue Jays on Monday. The newly signed veteran was slotted at the top of the batting order with hitting Aaron Hill hitting second and Alex Rios batting third.

Our View: Rios, had been hitting at the top of the order since the injury to shortstop David Eckstein, but an injury to Vernon Wells (wrist/out 6-8 weeks) has forced the Jays to move what power they have left in the lineup out of the leadoff spot.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 5/9, 5:39 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson, who was acquired by the Blue Jays today, is in the starting lineup tonight against Cleveland. He is playing left field, replacing normal starter Shannon Stewart. It's worth noting that Toronto is desperately searching for a lineup that can produce. In the last 30 games, the Jays have sported the same lineup only twice.

Our View: The additions of Kevin Mench and Wilkerson make fantasy owners in AL-only formats cringe. It appears that the Jays are going to try platooning Wilkerson, Stewart, Mench and Matt Stairs. Wilkerson and Stairs will start against right-handers while Stewart and Mench find the lineup against southpaws. Tonight it appears the team has decided to give the two newbies (Wilkerson and Mench) starting assignments.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 5/9, 3:14 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson has been acquired by the Blue Jays, according to Fox Sports. He was recently cut by the Mariners.

Our View: Wilkerson was brought in as he is good against left-handed pitching, and the Jays are going to face three lefties in their current series against Cleveland. He will also provide them with flexibility to use him at first base, or in the outfield.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 5/9, 8:46 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson is on the Jays' radar, according to Globeandmail.com. Wilkerson is a left-handed batter who is statistically better against lefties than righties, and was recently designated for assignment by Seattle. The Blue Jays will open a four-game set on Friday against the Indians, and Jays' GM J.P. Ricciardi made clear Thursday that the team would likely add another bat before Friday night's game. Wilkerson has been pursued by the Jays at earlier times in his career, and Manager John Gibbons said, "We're facing three lefties in Cleveland, so we'd like a right-handed type bat, by that I mean a guy who can hit lefties."

Our View: This is only speculation at this point, but Wilkerson would provide Toronto with the bat they are looking for, and they won't have to sacrifice talent in their system to acquire him. He will also provide them flexibility to use him at first base, or in the outfield.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/30, 3:35 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson has been cut by the Mariners, according to the AP. The team called up catcher Jeff Clement from Triple-A Tacoma, and felt Wilkerson was expendable to free up a roster spot. The team has 10 days to trade Wilkerson, release him, or assign him to outright to the minor leagues.

Our View: Wilkerson was only hitting .232 with five RBI over 56 at-bats, with 15 strikeouts. He failed to generate any power either, as he didn't register a home run.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/23, 12:07 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson left Tuesday's game against the Twins in the fourth inning due to a tight right hamstring, the Seattle Times confirms. Willie Bloomquist took his place.

Our View: Bloomquist and Greg Norton are the only right field options currently on the club, but the Mariners might be able to dip into the minors and call up Wladimir Balentien. We'll have to wait and see on Wilkerson's status, though.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 2/26, 8:58 AM CT
Manager John McLaren doesn't plan on platooning anyone with the left-handed hitting Brad Wilkerson. "I want to see how Brad fits in," McLaren said in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Wilkerson has actually hit better in his career against lefties. He's faded big time over the last three years after a breakout 2004 campaign and will be looking to rebound this season in Seattle.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 1/31, 4:51 PM CT
The Mariners' official website reports that the team signed free-agent outfielder Brad Wilkerson to a one-year contract on Thursday, perhaps a prelude to the much-anticipated trade for left-hander Erik Bedard. Wilkerson spent the past two seasons with the Rangers, posting his third career 20-homer season in 2007 and driving in 62 runs while hitting just .234. "The addition of Brad to our club gives us a number of different options," Seattle GM Bill Bavasi said in a press release. "He is a solid left-handed bat who can play all three outfield positions and first base." The Mariners could play Wilkerson in left field full-time and move Raul Ibanez to right, or they could put him in some sort of right-field platoon. Time will tell.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 1/29, 11:04 AM CT
The Seattle Times reports that the Mariners have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with Brad Wilkerson that will be finalized as soon as the Erik Bedard trade goes down. The Mariners could play Wilkerson in left field full-time and move Raul Ibanez to right, or they could put him in some sort of right-field platoon, perhaps with prospect Wladimir Balentien if they feel Balentien is ready for the majors after hitting .291-24-84 with 15 steals last year at Triple-A Tacoma.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 1/21, 11:02 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson has received some interest from the Red Sox, according to the Boston Herald. The outfielder is reportedly asking for a three-year contract worth $21 million. Wilkerson would fill the role left by Eric Hinske, serving as a left-handed hitter off the bench who can play outfield and first base.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 6/9, 10:01 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson was activated off the disabled list Saturday and started against the Brewers. He'll see time at first base with Mark Teixeira moving to the disabled list. Wilkerson is coming back from a hamstring injury.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 5/31, 11:08 PM CT

Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 5/17, 10:57 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson won't need surgery on his right hamstring injury, but he's expected to be sidelined longer than the 15-day minimum. He is expected to be examined by team orthopedist Dr. Keith Meister when the club goes to Houston this weekend, according to the Dallas Morning News. "It's kind of the same as last year when I hurt my shoulder in May," he said. "I was just starting to swing the bat pretty well and stuff happened. It's disappointing, but it's something I can't really do anything about."
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 5/16, 3:39 PM CT

Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 5/15, 11:28 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson left Tuesday's game in the fifth inning after injuring his right hamstring, the AP reports. Wilkerson won't be available Wednesday, and it's likely he'll wind up on the disabled list. "It's not good," manager Ron Washington said. Should Wilkerson be out for an extended period, options include calling up outfielder Marlon Byrd from the minors or activating outfielder Frank Catalanotto from the disabled list.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 4/30, 9:11 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson is expected to start against Toronto Monday even as he's 1-for-15 in his career against Roy Halladay, the Dallas Morning News reports. "It's time for the tide to change," Ron Washington said of starting Wilkerson. "Maybe he's 1-for-15, but hopefully he'll come out of it 3-for-18 or so."
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/25, 9:28 AM CT
Although Brad Wilkerson was in Tuesday's lineup for the first time in eight days - rain ultimately washed the game out - he will not play Wednesday, the Dallas Morning News reports. Wilkerson is dealing with a sore left knee.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 4/23, 10:31 PM CT

Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 4/22, 8:13 AM CT
The Star-Telegram reports that Brad Wilkerson still was hobbling around on his sore left knee yesterday. Manager Ron Washington said the cortisone shot Wilkerson received Wednesday had yet to take effect. It's not clear when he'll return to action.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/18, 9:43 PM CT
Brad Wilkerson had what was described as a "small" cortisone shot in order to relieve the pain and discomfort in his left knee and avoid going on the disabled list, the Rangers official site reports. "In the next couple of days, if it doesn't get better, we might have to [go on the DL]," Wilkerson said. "But I'm not thinking about that right now. I'm hoping we caught this early." Wilkerson had the same problem in Spring Training and he let it linger for 7-10 days.
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/18, 9:57 AM CT
Brad Wilkerson left Tuesday's game in the top of the ninth inning after tweaking his left knee, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. He said the condition wasn't serious, but he didn't want to worsen it; he had a similar, but more painful, instance of the same problem in spring training that bothered him for 7-10 days. "There's something in there that just catches, and when it catches I feel like I can't even bend my knee for a second," Wilkerson said. "I didn't want to go back out there and do something stupid running after a ball.... It's nothing drastic, just something we've got to get calmed down."
Brad Wilkerson, RF, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 1/17, 9:43 AM CT
