Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 9/22, 10:17 PM CT
Adam Dunn provided the only offense for the Nationals on Tuesday as they were blown out by the Dodgers 14-2. Dunn's 38h homer, a two-run shot, was the only crooked number on the board for Washington.

Our View: Dunn has five straight seasons of 40 home runs and looks like a lock to make it six in 2009. His .279 average this season has been a nice surprise though, sitting 30 points above his career mark.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 9/11, 9:29 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer off Josh Johnson in Friday's 5-3 win at Florida.

Our View: Dunn homered in back-to-back games, and has 37 for 2009, currently tying him for fifth in the NL with Adrian Gonzalez. He is on pace to top 40 homers for the fifth time in his career.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 9/10, 11:02 AM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Nationals' manager Jim Riggleman plans to play his regular starters over the last month of the season. "I think that until the division and Wild Card is won, we have an obligation to the other contenders to put our best players out there against the top teams," Riggleman told the media.

Our View: With the Nats out of the playoff race, there was some thought that they would give some of the young prospects playing time in September, but Riggleman doesn't sound interested in the youngsters. This is great news for fantasy owners of players like Adam Dunn and Josh Willingham, as it looks like they will be in the lineup on a regular basis for the rest of the season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 9/9, 9:36 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 2-for-5 with two RBI on Wednesday, but hit into a rally-killing, game-ending double play in the ninth inning, as Washington lost 6-5 to the Phillies at home.

Our View: The RBI were 93rd and 94th of the season. He is within striking distance of his career high of 106.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 9/5, 10:21 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in tonight's 9-5 loss to the Marlins at Nationals Park. He also scored a run.

Our View: Dunn has five hits over his last two games, and raised his season average to .284. He has not homered over his last six games though.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 8/30, 6:26 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 0-for-1 in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Cardinals, but worked Redbird pitching for three walks.

Our View: Dunn has now drawn 100 walks on the season and now has six straight seasons with triple-digit free passes. He remains one of the best on base men in the game.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 8/29, 9:21 PM CT
Adam Dunn's 35th home run of the season was inconsequential on Saturday, as the Nationals lost 9-4 in St. Louis.

Our View: Dunn now has nine home runs in August, and is well on his way to his sixth straight 40-homer campaign.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 8/23, 4:07 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 with a single and a solo homer off Manny Parra in Sunday's 8-3 win over Milwaukee at Nationals Park.

Our View: Dunn collected his seventh homer of August, and his 33rd of the season, which is currently tied for third in the NL.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 8/21, 9:18 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a pair of walks in the Nationals' 7-3 loss to the Brewers on Friday.

Our View: Dunn is hitting almost .370 in August after batting .319 in July and is doing a great job this season of staying away from the Mendoza line. His home run totals haven't suffered as a result either. Friday's shot gave him 32 on the year.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 8/20, 9:33 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 and drove in the Nationals' only run on Thursday, as Washington lost to the Rockies 4-1 at home.

Our View: With 87 RBI on the season, Dunn is on pace to drive in well over 100 for the first time in his nine year career. His current career best is his 106 from 2007.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 8/15, 10:34 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 1-for-3 with a solo homer off Johnny Cueto in tonight's 10-6 win at Cincinnati.

Our View: Dunn crushed his 31st homer of 2009 at the Great American Ballpark, where he used to call home. Tonight's blast was also the 309th of his career.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 8/12, 9:03 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 2-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday night, but the Nationals lost 6-2 to the Braves, starting a losing streak after reeling off eight straight wins.

Our View: Dunn is well on his way to his obligatory 40 home runs and 100 RBI, and may actually drive in well-beyond 100 this year (he currently has 85 RBI). His .281 average is also 30 points higher than his career average.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 8/4, 9:33 PM CT
Adam Dunn launched a two-run home run for the Nats on Tuesday as they defeated the Marlins by a score of 6-4. Dunn went 1-for-4 in the game with a run scored and two RBI.

Our View: This is how Adam Dunn works most of the time, with one hit, that being a home run, in four at-bats. By now fantasy owners should know what to expect from Dunn, and as long as he keeps the power coming he will remain a solid fantasy play.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 8/3, 9:45 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in tonight's 8-4 win at Pittsburgh. He had a single, double and a three-run homer off Charlie Morton.

Our View: Dunn crushed his 27th homer of the season, currently ranking him fourth in the NL. He should remain a strong source for power, despite playing him home games a pitcher-friendly Nationals Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 7/26, 12:09 AM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-3 with his 25th homer and five RBI in the Nationals' 13-1 win over the Padres on Saturday.

Our View: Dunn looks to be on pace to hit his usual 40 homers this season, but it's not accompanied by his typically dreadful average. The lumbering outfielder is hitting .275 and has 70 RBI on the year. He's been one of the nicer fantasy surprises this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 7/24, 7:48 PM CT
Adam Dunn is on the Tigers' radar, according to MLive.com.

Our View: The Tigers are looking to add a bat for their run at the playoffs. Dunn would be a strong addition, especially with outfielder Carlos Guillen fresh off the DL. Dunn crushed 24 homers with Washington this season, and fantasy owners should be excited by the thought of him playing his home games at launching pad Comerica Park as a member of the Tigers.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 7/24, 9:01 AM CT
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman says there is "no buzz" about a potential Adam Dunn trade.

Our View: Apparently teams just don't want one of the most consistent power hitters in the game. They are willing to lock up and pay players like Milton Bradley and Vernon Wells, but not Mr. 40 Home Runs and 100 RBI. An Adam Dunn deal for any number of contenders would make a great deal of sense, so it could still happen, just don't hold your breath.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 7/23, 11:05 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 3-for-3 with a run scored in tonight's 4-1 loss to the Cardinals at Nationals Park. He hit a single and two doubles.

Our View: Dunn raised his season average to .274, which is good by his standards. He is hitting .328 with four homers so far this month as well.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 7/20, 5:28 PM CT
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Joe Strauss said on an interview on 101.1 ESPN Monday that the Cardinals are interested in the Nationals' Adam Dunn.

Our View: Nats GM Mike Rizzo has said that Dunn will not be traded, but he'll surely listen should the Cards come to him with an offer he likes. St. Louis could certainly use his bat in left field.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 7/19, 4:04 PM CT
Adam Dunn continued to be one of the Nationals' lone bright spots on Sunday, hitting his 24th home run on an otherwise forgettable afternoon, as the Nationals got blown out 11-3 by the Cubs at home.

Our View: Dunn is doing in 2009 what he always does, hitting lots of home runs, not hitting many singles and striking out a ton. A team more competitive than the Nats could certainly benefit from his big flies.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 7/11, 9:18 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 13-2 win at Houston. He hit a single, double and solo homer off Felipe Paulino.

Our View: Dunn hit his third homer of July, and leads Washington with 23. He should remain a strong source for power, despite playing his home games at pitcher-friendly Nationals Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 7/9, 10:31 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in tonight's 9-4 loss at Houston.

Our View: Dunn hit his 14th double, and continues to lead the Nationals with 22 homers and 60 RBI.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 7/7, 7:12 PM CT
GM Mike Rizzo stated that slugger Adam Dunn is not on the Nationals' trading block, according to the Washington Post. Rizzo said, "We are not trading Adam Dunn. That is as definitive as I can be."

Our View: Dunn leads the Nationals with 22 homers, and holds a .266 batting average - which is good by his standards. The club is among the worst in the majors, but it looks like Dunn is not going anywhere.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 7/4, 2:40 PM CT
The Miami Herald is reporting that Nationals' outfielder Adam Dunn hit his 300th career home run on Saturday against the Braves. Dunn took rookie Tommy Hanson deep in the bottom of the seventh. Dunn was 2-for-3 in the game with two RBI.

Our View: Dunn has been a feared power hitter his entire career, and he still has a long way to go to add to those 300. Dunn is always a power option, and should be owned in all leagues because of it.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 7/3, 10:22 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 21st home run in the Nationals' 9-8 loss to the Braves on Friday. He finished the day 1-for-3 with a pair of walks.

Our View: The power from Dunn is nice, but the slugger is starting to fall into his old ways again. After hitting and uncharacteristic .310 in April, he hit in the .240s for May and June. No big surprise there.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 6/30, 10:56 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 with three RBI in tonight's 7-5 loss at Florida. He hit a double and a two-run homer off Sean West.

Our View: Dunn collected his 20th homer of the season, and remains a top source for power despite playing his home games at pitcher-friendly Nationals Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 6/24, 5:03 PM CT
Adam Dunn is out of tonight's lineup against Boston while nursing a right wrist ailment, according to MASN Sports.

Our View: Dunn aggravated his wrist during Tuesday's game, and is sitting out as a precaution. Fantasy owners will have to count on another source for power tonight.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 6/19, 10:37 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays at Nationals Park. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: Dunn is only hitting .268, but he leads the Nationals with 18 homers and 48 RBI. He has a hit in five straight games, and an RBI in each of his last three.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 6/7, 4:39 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 2-for-3 with a walk in the Nationals' 7-0 loss to the Mets on Sunday.

Our View: Dunn is hitting .264 on the season, and a recent cold stretch since late May has driven his average ever closer to the .247 hitter that we all know. Looks like the high average days are probably behind him this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 5/27, 10:14 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer off Johan Santana in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Mets. It was his only hit in four at-bats.

Our View: Dunn now has 16 bombs on the year and is hitting .283. He has managed to keep his average up this season, but has his usual high strikeout total still. With two more on Wednesday he is now sitting at an even 50 on the season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 5/26, 9:48 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 15 home run on Tuesday and accounted for the Nationals' lone run in their 6-1 loss to the Mets. He was 2-for-3 on the night.

Our View: Dunn is having a fine fantasy campaign and his 15 homers aren't accompanied by his usual dreadful average. He's hitting .284, leads the lead in walks and, well, you know about the power. He's a must start in all fantasy formats right now.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 5/24, 3:25 PM CT
Adam Dunn was large for the Nationals on Sunday in their 8-5 win over the Orioles. Dunn went 2-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored, and six RBI in the game.

Our View: Dunn is having himself a nice season so far in 2009, and his two home runs today only added to that nice start. He is hitting .284 right now, but it is realistic to believe he won't hit much higher than .260 or so this year. He will have a ton of home runs, however, as long as he stays healthy.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 5/19, 9:58 PM CT
Adam Dunn blasted his 12th home run of the season in the Nationals ten-inning 8-5 loss to the Pirates on Tuesday. It was his only hit in the contest, but he also worked Pirates pitchers for two free passes.

Our View: Dunn is having a very strong start to the season and his 12 homers aren't accompanied by his usual .220s average. He's hitting .287 on the season and has already drawn 35 walks. Looks like this could be the season fantasy owners get more out of Dunn than just home runs.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 5/10, 7:15 PM CT
Adam Dunn cranked out two home runs in the Nationals 10-8 loss in Arizona on Sunday. He was 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs scored, and a strike out against his former team.

Our View: Dunn has slugged four home runs in his last three games, all in Arizona. He now has 11 on the season and is hitting .311/.451/.660. He also has just five more strike outs (32) than walks (27). It actually looks as if Washington's investment in him is paying off in terms of his production.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 5/9, 12:21 AM CT
Adam Dunn hit his eighth home run of the season in a 2-for-5 effort against his former team on Friday. His Nationals topped the Diamondbacks 4-3.

Our View: The eight home runs and 25 walks sound about right for Dunn at this point in the season, but the .296 average is shocking. We certainly aren't complaining though.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 5/2, 2:33 PM CT
Adam Dunn socked his seventh homer of the season on Saturday, a three-run shot against the Cardinals.

Our View: We predict Dunn will hit 33 more homers this year. After all, he has finished with exactly 40 long balls in four straight campaigns.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 4/28, 9:19 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 2-for-3 with his sixth home run of the season in the Nationals' 7-1 to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Our View: Dunn's six home runs this season aren't surprising, but his .328 average is. Could this be the year that the perennial 40 homer slugger adds average to his repertoire? Probably not, but he's off to a nice start.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 4/27, 10:04 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored in Washington's 13-11 loss in Philadelphia on Monday.

Our View: Dunn continues to see the ball well in a Nationals uniform. He is hitting .311 with a .475 OBP and has six home runs through 18 games this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 4/21, 10:15 PM CT
Adam Dunn cranked out his fourth home run of the season as the Nationals beat the Braves 4-3 on Tuesday. The solo shot in the sixth inning helped push starter Kenshin Kawakami out of the game.

Our View: Dunn was only 1-for-4 in the game, but his average is still a rather hearty .310. He also has an impressive 17 walks on the season against just nine strikeouts.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 4/19, 4:50 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-2 with three walks, no RBI, and a run scored as the Nationals lost to Florida 7-4.

Our View: Dunn already has 17 walks through 11 games and he currently boasts a .549 OBP and .647 slugging percentage. He is being more selective than ever and it is clearly paying off.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 4/16, 9:33 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a three-run shot off Joe Blanton in the first inning against Philadelphia on Thursday.

Our View: Dunn finished 1-for-4 with two strikeouts, but that's that's nothing unexpected from the big lefty. He's appeared comfortable in a Nationals uniform, batting .346 with three home runs thus far.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 4/6, 6:31 PM CT
Adam Dunn was 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs scored, a home run, and a double as the Nationals fell to the Marlins 12-6 on Monday.

Our View: Dunn also notched his first strikeout of the season. His 164 whiffs last season was his lowest total since 2003 so his batting eye has shown improvement throughout his career. He has hit at least 40 home runs in five straight seasons, and he is well on his way to making it a sixth straight season of longball prowess.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 3/14, 10:32 PM CT
Adam Dunn scored Team USA's only run in their 11-1 loss to Puerto Rico on Saturday. The slugger was 2-for-3 in the game and improved his WBC batting average to .556.

Our View: Dunn is swinging a good bat in the tournament as he has been able to avoid the strikeouts that plague him in the MLB. He won't have much protection in the Nationals' lineup this season which could be a big problem if he is not a little pickier at the plate.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 2/26, 2:35 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 0-for-2 while leaving two men on base in Thursday's 2-1 win over Detroit.

Our View: Dunn will be hard-pressed to reach at least 40 homers for the sixth straight season while playing his home games at Nationals Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 2/12, 11:40 AM CT
Adam Dunn agreed to play either first base or left field for the Nationals. Two sources told the Washington Post that Dunn would be in the outfield if Nick Johnson is healthy enough to handle first base.

Our View: The talk of Johnson being healthy should give readers a good laugh. If Dunn is in left field, he would take at-bats away from Josh Willingham, who also isn't a paragon of health. The Nationals had an outfield logjam even before the Dunn signing, and it's hard to believe they will place a ton of faith in the always-injured Johnson. Still, fantasy owners should worry a bit about Willingham's potential playing time.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 2/11, 1:54 PM CT
The Washington Nationals have signed slugger Adam Dunn to a two-year deal, according to the Washington Post. The deal is reportedly worth $20 million.

Our View: The Nationals desperately needed some pop in their lineup, and Dunn certainly provides that. The team did trade for Josh Willingham earlier in the season, making their outfield a bit crowded, so it's likely that Dunn will see a lot of time at first base.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 2/9, 3:40 PM CT
GM Ed Wade stated that the Astros are not targeting Adam Dunn despite contrary reports circulating, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.

Our View: Wade noted that Dunn was never on their radar, and the Astros would spend the money on pitching if they could afford the slugger. They are not interested in Bobby Abreu either.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 2/9, 7:06 AM CT
The Astros reportedly want to sign Adam Dunn, according to the Chicago Tribune. They are expected to offer him a one-year deal.

Our View: Adding the slugger to the Astros would allow them to move Hunter Pence to center field and Michael Bourn to the bench. He would also add more power to their lineup. Dunn would likely reach 40 homers while playing his home games at launching pad Minute Maid Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 2/8, 11:11 AM CT
The Athletics are interested in Adam Dunn, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Dunn would provide another big bat to the Athletics' lineup to go along with Matt Holliday and Jason Giambi, but his power numbers could be hindered while playing his home games at pitcher-friendly McAfee Coliseum.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 2/8, 9:41 AM CT
The Astros may be planning on offering Adam Dunn a one-year deal before the start of spring training, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Adding the slugger to the Astros would allow them to move Hunter Pence to center field and Michael Bourn to the bench. He would also add more power to their lineup.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 2/7, 10:17 AM CT
The Los Angeles Angels will consider negotiating with free-agent outfielder Adam Dunn, Fox Sports.com reports. The Angels are reportedly also looking at Bobby Abreu as another option. "I would say we'll continue to look at different ways to improve the club," general manager Tony Reagins said. "If something makes sense for us, we'd look at it. We'd have to see what the parameters are, how that player fits."

Our View: As is the case with Abreu, Dunn would likely be signed to a one-year contract and be responsible for fulfilling a spot duty role in the outfield and filling the opening left in the DH role by Gary Matthews Jr., who is expected to miss at least four months while recovering from offseason surgery to repair the patella tendon in his left knee.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 2/3, 10:30 AM CT
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman reports that the Washington Nationals have made an offer to free-agent slugger Adam Dunn. The terms of the offer were not reported.

Our View: It's apparent Dunn has no desire to go to Washington, or else he would have accepted the deal from the Nats, who have been expressing interest in him nearly the entire offseason. Dunn is reportedly buying his time to see what happens with the Manny Ramirez situation in LA, which would be his preferred team.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 1/23, 8:48 PM CT
According to MLB.com, the Washington Nationals have not totally ruled out negotiating with free-agent slugger Adam Dunn. GM Jim Bowden has said a player of Dunn's credentials exceeds the team's spending limit, but the Nats sorely need a left-handed power hitter to offset a lineup crowded with righties.

Our View: Washington may need all the offense it can afford to acquire for the upcoming season. As things stand now, the Nats will roll into Spring Training with a rotation consisting of Daniel Cabrera, John Lannan, Jordan Zimmerman, Scott Olsen, and Collin Balester.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 1/19, 10:01 PM CT
The Washington Post reports that Adam Dunn's value is falling. It is believed that he has been seeking a four-year, $56 million deal, but most GM's have been perplexed by his asking price. According to the article, the Braves and Dodgers may be the best fits for the slugger.

Our View: Dunn probably won't get signed until Manny Ramirez inks a deal somewhere, but it seems obvious he is not going to get what he wants. Home runs apparently don't command the amount of money that they used to.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 1/16, 10:32 AM CT
The Brewers have reportedly lost interest in Adam Dunn, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com.

Our View: He was being considered as a replacement in case the Brewers dealt outfielder Mike Cameron to the Yankees, but Cameron is now expected to remain with the club. So it does not look like Dunn will be playing his home games at launching pad Miller Park next season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 1/14, 12:44 PM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports has been told by a rival executive that the Red Sox are interested in Adam Dunn.

Our View: The Red Sox already added Rocco Baldelli and re-signed Mark Kotsay to the outfield, but were unable to bring in a "big bat" after missing out on Mark Teixeira. Dunn could work at first base if Kevin Youkilis moves to third, but the club would likely have to deal Mike Lowell.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 1/12, 9:18 PM CT
Adam Dunn is unlikely to return to the Reds, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Reds are focusing more on signing an outfielder that hits from the right side of the plate. The team would be willing to bring in a lefty with few right's remaining in their price range, but Bobby Abreu would be much more affordable for the club than Dunn.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 1/11, 12:27 PM CT
The Boston Globe reports that the Braves are emerging as a possible destination for outfielder Adam Dunn.

Our View: The Braves could use a left fielder, but if they land Derek Lowe, who they are expected to offer this week, one has to wonder how much cash they will have left. They have already acquired Javier Vazquez and Kenshin Kawakami among others. Dunn has five straight seasons of 40 or more home runs.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 1/8, 7:49 PM CT
The Nationals have apparently decided that they will not sign any big ticket items this off-season and will pull out of the sweepstakes for Derek Lowe, Orlando Hudson and Adam Dunn, according to MLB.com.

Our View: This is a bit surprising since the team was believed to be one of the leaders for the services of Dunn. Perhaps the team realized what we all did, and that is that free agents just don't want to play with the Nationals. As a result of this decision, Nick Johnson will likely be the first baseman with Anderson Hernandez likely starting at second base.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 1/4, 8:35 AM CT
The Dodgers continue to be interested in Adam Dunn as a fallback if they can't re-sign Manny Ramirez, according to the Boston Globe. However, many GMs are down on Dunn at the moment due to his high strikeout numbers. "He'd better not be The Guy because he has a lot of holes in his swing and he can be pitched to," one AL GM said.

Our View: Dunn's skills are probably best suited for an AL roster for which he could DH. The Rays would be a good fit baseball-wise as they're looking to sign a DH, but they probably won't want to commit the kind of dollars that Dunn is looking for.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 1/1, 2:31 PM CT
The Nationals continue to be interested in Adam Dunn, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Nationals have made it clear that they want to add power from the left side of the plate, going hard after switch-hitters Mark Teixeira and Milton Bradley, in addition to Dunn.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 12/29, 2:05 PM CT
The Dodgers have contacted Adam Dunn's agent (Greg Genske), according to ESPN.

Our View: The Cubs are believed to be Dunn's preferred destination, but it would be hard to turn down a strong offer from the defending NL West champs. Apparently the Dodgers are tired of waiting for Manny Ramirez, and are considering Dunn to fill the void in their outfield. The Dodgers could use the slugger after ranking 14th in the NL in home runs in 2008.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 12/25, 5:29 PM CT
The Baltimore Sun suggests the Orioles may chase slugger Adam Dunn after missing out on elite first baseman Mark Teixeira.

Our View: As of now the Orioles are concentrating on their catching and pitching needs, but may target Dunn if his price tag drops to a favorable point.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 12/23, 2:23 PM CT
The Brewers garnered interest in Adam Dunn while discussing a trade of center fielder Mike Cameron to the Yankees, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Our View: It is uncertain if the Brewers still have him on their radar, but the slugger would be in good position to extend his streak to six seasons with at least 40 homers while playing his home games at launching pad Miller Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 12/20, 3:25 PM CT
Adam Dunn prefers to play for the Cubs among the teams known to be interested in the slugger, according to Comcast Sportsnet.

Our View: He isn't looking for a lucrative deal, but a fair one. He would be playing for a contender and would likely be looking forward to the days that the wind is blowing out at Wrigley Field, as he attempts to extend his streak to six seasons with at least 40 homers. The only concerns would be his high strikeout ratio and having him play right field regularly.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 12/20, 8:26 AM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports suggests that Adam Dunn will likely end up in Washington.

Our View: The Nationals have him on their radar, and are in need of a premier power hitter to complement Ryan Zimmerman. Dunn has crushed 40 or more homers in five straight seasons.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 12/19, 8:16 AM CT
The Mariners covet a left-handed power hitter, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Our View: They could choose from a pool that includes Adam Dunn, Bobby Abreu, Garret Anderson, Jason Giambi and former Mariner Ken Griffey Jr. The club is waiting for a bargain to develop.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 12/12, 9:10 AM CT
The Nationals are keeping slugger Adam Dunn on the back burner in case they cannot land Mark Teixeira, according to the NY Post.

Our View: Dunn would likely hit less homers while playing for Washington, and could potentially fall short of 40.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 12/4, 11:09 AM CT
The Cubs would like to add slugger Adam Dunn to their lineup, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.

Our View: The Cubs would have to sacrifice some defense in right field, but Dunn would provide skipper Lou Piniella with the productive left-handed bat that he covets. Dunn and Wrigley Field would make a nice match.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 12/3, 6:34 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, it appears that the Braves are not intersted in Adam Dunn because they are seeking a right-handed bat, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Dunn still is drawing interest from several other clubs including the Marinters and Nationals.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 12/3, 2:03 PM CT
According to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, a number of teams are interested in the services of slugger Adam Dunn, and they include the Braves, Mariners and Nationals.

Our View: Dunn did not receive salary arbitration from Arizona, and the 29-year-old slugger will continue to be a source of great power for fantasy owners.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 12/2, 8:44 AM CT
Adam Dunn declined a two-year contract offer from the Diamondbacks before the club opted not to give him salary arbitration, according to FOX Sports.

Our View: Now MLB clubs won't have to give up a first-round draft pick to sign Dunn, so the slugger should now garner more interest on the free agent market.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 12/1, 11:12 PM CT
It looks like Adam Dunn's time with the Diamondbacks is about over. On Monday, the team did not offer the slugger salary arbitration.

Our View: Dunn may strike out a lot and not play very good defense but he did hit 40 home runs and drove in 100 runs. An American league team would be a perfect fit for the slugger.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 11/27, 11:51 AM CT
The market has been quiet so far for Adam Dunn, according to Sports Illustrated. The Nationals still seem to be interested in Dunn, as are a few other teams. It doesn't look like Dunn will get near the $100 million mark that he originally expected.

Our View: Dunn hits for power, but that's about it. He's a terrible fielder, can't hit for average as he strikes out constantly (164 in 2008) and only hit .236 in 2008, and he doesn't run much even though his speed is better than you would expected for a true slugger. He still will get drafted in all fantasy leagues as he has hit 40+ home runs in the past five seasons.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 11/3, 10:51 AM CT
Free agent slugger Adam Dunn is on the Nationals' radar, according to MLB.com.

Our View: This makes sense as GM Jim Bowden drafted Dunn when he worked for the Reds. Dunn strikes out far too often and hits for a low average, and his power numbers could potentially take a hit while playing his home games at pitcher-friendly Nationals Park.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 11/1, 6:20 PM CT
Adam Dunn has filed for free agency, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Dunn strikes out far too often, but has reached at least 40 homers for the fifth straight season in 2008, and the slugger will garner solid interest among teams looking to add power to the middle of their lineups.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 10/31, 10:16 AM CT
The Diamondbacks are unlikely to re-sign slugger Adam Dunn, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: Dunn, who was acquired in an August 11 trade with Cincinnati, was never expected to be more than a rental for Arizona. Dunn strikes out far too often, but has crushed at least 40 homers for the fifth straight season in 2008.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 9/27, 10:27 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 40th home run and drove in his 100 RBI in the Diamondbacks' 6-4 win over the Rockies.

Our View: Dunn kept his 40 home run 100 RBI streak in tact on Saturday night and is looking to cash in this off-season with a big free-agent contract.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 9/25, 4:50 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 39th home run and his 99th RBI in the Diamondbacks' loss to the Cardinals on Thursday. He also drew his 121st walk and 161st strikeout.

Our View: Dunn needs one more home run to keep his streak of 40-homer seasons in tact. Dunn has hit 40 or more home runs for four straight seasons prior to 2008.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 9/7, 6:53 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 36th home run of the year in a 2-for-4 performance against the Dodgers, but Arizona fell by the score of 5-3.

Our View: In news that should shock pretty much everyone, Dunn did not strike out once. He actually has as many home runs on the month as he does strikeouts (four).
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 9/3, 6:24 PM CT
Adam Dunn doubled in Conor Jackson in the bottom of the ninth giving the Diamondbacks a dramatic 4-3 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Our View: Dunn has always been a great source of home runs and RBIs, the knock against him will continue to be his lack-luster average.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 9/1, 9:44 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 35th long ball of the year on Monday as he scored two runs and walked twice for the D'backs.

Our View: As noteworthy as the home run allowing him to reach 35 for the fifth straight year, was the fact that he played his first game of the year at first base. In 19 games as a D'back Dunn has scored 12 times with 12 RBI.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 8/30, 12:41 AM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 and chipped in two RBI in Friday's 9-3 win over the Dodgers.

Our View: He has registered two hits in back-to-back games, and three times over his last six. Dunn looks to remain a solid source of production down the stretch for fantasy owners.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 8/26, 12:00 AM CT
Adam Dunn went 0-3 with two strikeouts in the Diamondbacks 4-2 loss to the Padres on Monday night.

Our View: So far in his Diamondbacks career, Dunn is hitting .238, with 10 hits in 42 at-bats, and he has struck out 15 times with two home runs.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 8/22, 11:48 PM CT
Tough night for Diamondbacks slugger Adam Dunn, who went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts while leaving five men on base in his team's 5-4 loss to the Marlins.

Our View: Like Dunn's power? Well, then you better like his strikeouts as well, because he will provide plenty of each. Still, his 34 jacks and OBP over .380 sure is helpful to fantasy owners.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 8/20, 11:31 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a home run for the second time in as many nights, and also had three RBI, two runs scored and two walks in a 1-for-2 night to help lead Arizona to a 8-6 win over San Diego.

Our View: Dunn has struggled this month, especially with his power, but it looks like he has finally broken out of it with home runs in consecutive days, easing the concerns of fantasy owners.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 8/20, 12:04 AM CT
Arizona struck early, the Padres fought back late, but it wasn't enough as the Diamondbacks used the bat of outfielder Adam Dunn to get the 7-6 win. Dunn went 1-for-3 with two walks and his 33rd homer of the season, totaling two RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Dunn is hitting just .193 this month after hitting .310 in July, tonight's homer being his first since July 30th.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 8/17, 9:29 AM CT
Adam Dunn has registered a hit in every game since joining the D-Backs, but is yet to generate a homer, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Our View: He had good match-ups to hit homers with road games against Colorado and Houston. Dunn hit 32 homers with the Reds this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 8/16, 12:22 PM CT
Brandon Backe goes for the Houston Astros tonight when they face off against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which is bad news for Adam Dunn. In his career, Dunn is 0-for-12 against Backe, with six strikeouts.

Our View: Overall, Dunn is 3-for-12 with no home runs for the Diamondbacks, though he did knock in two runs in their victory over Colorado.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 8/12, 11:17 PM CT
Adam Dunn had a typical Adam Dunn night, going 1-for-3 with two walks and two strikeouts in Arizona's victory over Colorado. He was lifted in the ninth inning for a defensive replacement.

Our View: This is kind of what Adam Dunn is. Only you can often substitute that single with a home run. But walks and strikeouts are part of his game, and Dunn has done one of those two things 204 times this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 8/12, 5:51 PM CT
Adam Dunn is apparently looking for at least $100 million in his next contract. At least, that's what Bronson Arroyo told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I don't know if he told (the media) but he made it was no secret to us that he was looking for $100 to $120 million contract," Arroyo said.

Our View: That seems like an awful lot for a guy who has hit under .250 four out of his seven full seasons in baseball, and he is on his way to another this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 8/12, 8:41 AM CT
Manager Bob Melvin has said that the newly acquired Adam Dunn will play right field and bat cleanup for the Diamondbacks, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: Although Dunn is starting in right field it is unlikely he will remain there once Justin Upton returns. Dunn will most likely take over left field once Upton returns, and Conor Jackson will return to first base.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 8/11, 1:51 PM CT
DBacks.com reports that Adam Dunn has been acquired from the Reds. Dunn is expected to start in right field. The Diamondbacks are giving up three prospects in the deal, minor league pitcher Dallas Buck and two other players to be named later. There are also cash considerations in the deal.

Our View: Dunn's home run rate could be compromised by playing his home games in Arizona, while leaving the Great American Ballpark, but Arizona does have upcoming trips to Colorado and Houston, and back to Colorado and St. Louis down the stretch in September.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 8/10, 4:21 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in the Reds loss to Houston on Sunday.

Our View: Dunn is now hitting .139 in August, and does not have a single home run or RBI. He can clearly punish the ball, but he also will have these stretches every so often. If you want his power for fantasy leagues, it comes at the expense of average.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 7/31, 7:44 AM CT
Conversation between the Rays and Reds regarding an Adam Dunn deal is expected to resume Thursday morning, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: The Rays would like to land Jason Bay, but he could be on his way to the Red Sox. Dunn leads the majors in home runs with 32, but a move out of Cincinatti's tiny ballpark may slow his pace.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 7/30, 11:16 PM CT
Adam Dunn homered twice for the Reds on his way to three hits and two RBI for Cincinnati.

Our View: Dunn is now just eight home runs short of his fifth straight 40 homer season, quite an accomplishment for a player who is constantly dogged because of his high strikeout totals.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 7/30, 10:36 PM CT
Adam Dunn may be headed to the Rays as the team has apparently been unable to work out a deal with the Pirates for Jason Bay, according to Jayson Stark of ESPN.

Our View: The Rays appear to still covet Bay, but if they aren't able to work something out by early Thursday morning, they would likely turn their attention to the Big Donkey.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 7/30, 12:01 PM CT
There is surprisingly little buzz about Adam Dunn as we near the July 31 trade deadline, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Our View: Dunn has his obvious flaws, but any team looking for left-handed pop could hardly find a guy with more power than Adam.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 7/29, 9:48 PM CT
Reds slugger Adam Dunn had hits in eight of his last nine games before taking an 0-for-4 tonight against Houston.

Our View: Dunn is still hitting .291 on the month, and if you can suffer through his overall bad average that now rests at .238, those 30 home runs and 72 RBI do a fantasy team good.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 7/28, 10:00 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a grand slam against Roy Oswalt on Monday. He was 2-for-4 with four RBI and no strikeouts.

Our View: It was Dunn's 30th of the year and, despite a .238 average, could be considered the best source for home runs in the majors. He has 105 strikeouts on the season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 7/23, 3:38 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 with five RBI in Wednesday's 9-5 win over San Diego at the Great American Ballpark. He hit a single and a grand slam.

Our View: Dunn hit his 29th homer of the year, and his third over his last seven games. His average will always be low, but he should remain a great source of power for fantasy owners.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 7/21, 9:06 AM CT
Adam Dunn is hot as he blasted a homer in 10 of his last 18 games, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. He has 28 for the season.

Our View: Dunn is only hitting .230, but should remain a top source of power down the stretch for fantasy owners.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 7/17, 10:20 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his 27th home run of the season off of fellow lefty Johan Santana on Thursday.

Our View: Dunn also ripped off his 101st strikeout. Still its good to see him tag a quality lefty.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 7/12, 11:06 PM CT
Cincinnati outfielder Adam Dunn was the weapon of choice in the Reds' 8-2 win over the Brewers, going 2-for-4 with two homers to total four RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Dunn now carries an impressive six homers for the month of July, and we aren't even half way through the month yet.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 7/10, 5:09 PM CT
Adam Dunn blasted his 24th home run of the season on Thursday, one that went well out of Wrigley Field.

Our View: Dunn is struggling along at .226, but his OBP is still above .380 and he has gone deep six times in his last 11 games. If the Reds chose to move him to an AL club, get ready to spend those FAAB dollars.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 7/6, 3:37 PM CT
Adam Dunn carried the Reds in Sunday's tight 6-5 win over the Nationals, as he went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer.

Our View: That was his 22nd homer of the season, and his third over his last seven games. He also extended his hitting streak to five games.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 6/24, 11:33 PM CT
A reported dispute between Cincinnati outfielder Adam Dunn and Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi has taken an intriguing turn, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Last week, Ricciardi criticized Dunn on a Toronto radio station, accusing the slugger of lacking passion for the game. After reading a transcript of the remarks, Dunn shot back, calling Ricciardi a "clown sitting in the front office pushing paper." Before the Reds played at Toronto Tuesday, Ricciardi said he had taken a call from Dunn on Saturday and apologized for starting the furor. Asked later about the call, Dunn denied it had taken place. Ricciardi now believes he may have been the victim of a prank.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 6/22, 1:10 PM CT
Cincinnati outfielder Adam Dunn is getting the day off and will not be in the lineup as the Reds face the Blue Jays, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Manager Dusty Baker told reporters Dunn needed a mental day of rest, noting the slugger his pushing himself into frustration. He is there to pinch hit if needed and should not miss any more time.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 6/20, 8:44 AM CT
Jays' GM JP Ricciardi has apologized for his negative comments regarding Adam Dunn and his lack of passion for baseball, according to the AP. Ricciardi said, "It’s my fault, I take full responsibility for it. I tried to get Adam’s phone number from the Reds, and if he wants to talk to me, I’ll talk to him and apologize personally. But I apologize to him and the Reds. I need to be better than that. I let my guard down”.

Our View: The Reds battle the Jays beginning Tuesday, and Ricciardi is hoping he calmed Dunn down. Dunn will still undoubtedly going to carry a vendetta into Toronto.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 6/19, 1:08 PM CT
Adam Dunn is angered by Jays' GM JP Ricciardi's remarks, according to MLB.com. Ricciardi said he doesn't want Dunn on his team and added that he lacks passion for baseball. Dunn stated, "I know nothing about this clown. I have no idea who he is. I don't really care what one guy thinks, to be honest with you. If I'm a GM, I don't know if I would go out of my way to kind of discredit a player. It ticks me off. He doesn't even know me."

Our View: After this weekend's three-game series with the Yankees in New York, the Reds will play three games at Toronto next week, which was really bad timing for Ricciardi to criticize Dunn.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 6/19, 9:17 AM CT
Adam Dunn is not on the Blue Jays' radar, according to FAN-590 radio. Jays' GM JP Ricciardi stated, "Dunn a lifetime .230-.240 hitter that strikes out a ton and hits home runs. Did you know the guy doesn't really like baseball that much? I don't think you'd be very happy if we brought Adam Dunn here. We've done our homework on guys like Adam Dunn and there's a reason why we don't want Adam Dunn."

Our View: Dunn wouldn't hit as many homers in Toronto as in Cincinnati either.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 6/14, 6:28 PM CT
It took extra innings, but the Red Sox put the Cincinnati Reds in the loss column today, 6-4. Outfielder Adam Dunn bashed his 18th home run of the season, going 1-for-3 with one walk, totaling one RBI and one run scored on the day.

Our View: Dunn has been struggling to keep his bat on the ball this month, hitting just .135 through June coming into today. However, his 14 walks versus 18 strikeouts along the way show he has worked on his discipline at the dish.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 6/13, 9:20 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a solo home run on Friday night and the Reds beat the Red Sox 3-1 in interleague play.

Our View: Dunn launched his 17th home run of the season and continues his hot late May and early June. The big left fielder is hitting a home run every 12 times at bat.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 6/7, 10:14 PM CT
Adam Dunn went deep for the 16th time on Saturday, his lone hit against the Marlins (he did score two runs).

Our View: Dunn has the power bat going with 16 long balls in 59 games, putting him on pace to challenge the 40-HR plateau for the fifth straight season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 6/1, 3:19 PM CT
Adam Dunn followed up his 10-homer May by swatting another solo shot on Sunday. He is up to 15 homers on the year.

Our View: Fantasy owners were hopefully patient with the slugger. Dunn has had some awful stretches this year, but he has erased those worries with his recent play.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 5/25, 9:15 PM CT
It took 18 innings, but the Reds and Padres are finally done battling with San Diego emerging victorious. For Cincy, outfielder Adam Dunn was the top dog in the offensive yard, going 2-for-4 with one walk, his sixth double of the year, and his 13th home run of the season, giving Dunn two RBIs on the night.

Our View: Fantasy owners might not be shocked by the nine homer hit this month, or the 20 strikeouts suffered along the way, but the 15 walks during that same span shows he may be striving for better overall production at the plate.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 5/22, 11:56 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 on Thursday and how has a hit in 8-straight games to push his average from .203 to .245.

Our View: With his recent hot streak, Dunn is on pace for his customary 40 HR and 90 RBI though he'll need to pick up his run scoring pace a bit to record 90 for the fifth straight year.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 5/20, 12:41 AM CT
Adam Dunn homered for the fifth straight night on Monday and now has 11 HR and 29 RBI on the year.

Our View: Dunn is still hitting just .231, but he continues to display a solid eye at the plate with 31 BB and 35 K. Look for the average to start to climb as it's clear he is finding a nice groove at the plate with this power streak.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 5/18, 3:54 PM CT
Cincinnati outfielder Adam Dunn slammed his 10th home run of the season today, going 2-for-3 overall in the Reds' 6-4 win over the Indians. Dunn added a walk to the stat line that includes just the one RBI from the homer.

Our View: Dunn now has a string of four consecutive games with a home run. Those are the only hits he has in that span.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 5/17, 6:10 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a three-run homer in the ninth off Masa Kobayashi, rallying the Cincinnati Reds to their season-high fifth straight victory Saturday, 4-2 over the Cleveland Indians.

Our View: Dunn's third homer in three games has helped his HR Rate (14.2), but his average is still a puny .211.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 5/12, 6:22 PM CT
It appears that Reds' skipper Dusty Baker isn't happy with Adam Dunn's production. The Cincinnati left fielder has been moved down to seventh in the batting order.

Our View: Dunn has six home runs in 112 at-bats, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored, but his .214/.362/.411 line is still better than most of the Reds slumping bats.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 5/11, 3:37 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and an RBI against the Mets on Sunday. His average sunk to .214. The slugger has yet to finish a game this season with an average above .225.

Our View: Fantasy owners don't count on Dunn for a decent average, but his work this season has been especially frustrating. Adam has enough good history for us to stay patient.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 5/5, 9:29 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit a two-run home run on Monday night to help the Reds end a five-game losing streak.

Our View: The home run was Dunn's fifth of the season. It was the outfielders only hit on a night he also struck out twice. The left-hander is striking out at a 25 percent clip so far this season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 5/5, 5:15 PM CT
Adam Dunn, and his .221 average, is hitting sixth in the Reds lineup on Monday night versus the Cubs.

Our View: Dusty Baker has moved Edward Encarnacion into the fifth spot in the order.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 5/4, 4:16 PM CT
Adam Dunn went 2-for-4 with a double, one run, and two RBI against the Braves on Sunday. The slugger is up to 13 RBI through 30 games, which is well off his typical pace.

Our View: Dunn recently dropped to sixth in the order, and maybe the move will wake him up. There's no reason he can't turn it on and get to his projected digits, but Adam needs to turn it on soon.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 5/1, 6:58 PM CT
Adam Dunn, a free agent at the end of the season, is on many a team's wish list, according to MLB.com. Dunn hasn't engaged in any contract talks with the Reds, and though he has a no-trade clause in his contract through June 15th, after that he has only a limited clause that allows him to specify 10 teams which he would approve a trade to.

Our View: Dunn has been off to a painfully slow start in the 5x5 categories, but he still has a .391 OBP despite the struggles, and there is the little matter of history that is on his side as well (40 HR, 90 RBI, 90 runs in 4-straight seasons). If he does move, he will be one hell of an acquisition.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 4/29, 4:57 PM CT
Former Reds GM Wayne Krivsky told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the team has had no contract talks with free-agent-to-be Adam Dunn. Dunn is off to a slow start this year, hitting .208-3-9 through the first 25 games.

Our View: If no progress is made on a long-term deal and the Reds are out of contention at the trade deadline, there would seem to be a good chance Dunn would be dealt.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 4/23, 12:39 PM CT
The Reds fired general manager Wayne Krivsky and hired Walt Jocketty on Wednesday, the AP confirms. The move had been somewhat expected since the Reds hired Jocketty as a special consultant in January. The Reds are off to a 9-12 start. Krivsky was hired before the 2006 season.

Our View: Jocketty inherits an interesting situation. The Reds have some excellent young talent, but the club also has to deal with the upcoming, expiring contracts of Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey. The core is there for some sustained success, and it'll be up to Jocketty and Dusty Baker to put it all together.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 4/16, 10:12 PM CT
Adam Dunn hit his second home run of the season on Wednesday night as he went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a steal on the night.

Our View: Dunn has been cold hitting just .200 in the early going, but it is very encouraging to see that he has 17 BB and just 12 K leading us to believe that a breakout will occur, and soon.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSunday 4/13, 1:03 PM CT
The Cincinnati Reds have given LF Adam Dunn a day of rest, holding him from today’s battle with the Pirates in Pittsburgh, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Dunn has just one homer on the season, has gone just 6-for-63 overall (.167), and was 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Pirates. Manager Dusty Baker felt, with Monday offering a scheduled day off for the team, the time was right to offer Dunn a break in hopes of giving him some confidence and rest.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsFriday 4/11, 10:13 PM CT
Adam Dunn had one hit on Friday night to raise his average to .194 in what has been a terribly slow start to his season. The good news is that he has still been getting on base as he has 13 BB and just eight K on the year, so look for the power numbers to show up shortly.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 3/17, 4:31 PM CT
Adam Dunn collected his second home run of the spring on Monday, but he is still only batting .214 (6-for-28), with six strikeouts. Dunn should remain one of the top home run producers this season, but we would like to see him hit for a better average this spring.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsThursday 3/6, 7:38 PM CT
Adam Dunn worked this off-season on cutting down his strikeouts, and he spoke with the AP about it on Thursday. “I’m trying to be more aggressive early in the count,” Dunn said. I even hit a ball down the third-base line. I don’t think I’ve done that my entire life.” Dunn may cut down on the K which would be great, but you draft him for power, and he has tons of it with 4-straight 40 HR seasons.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 10/31, 4:25 PM CT
The Reds exercised Adam Dunn's $13 million option for 2008 on Wednesday, according to the AP. The club is also looking to sign the slugger long-term, but it's unclear if those talks have progressed at all. One interesting thing to note is that if the Reds decide they want to trade Dunn, they won't be able to do so until June 15, when his no-trade clause expires.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsTuesday 10/16, 3:38 PM CT
The Reds are expected to exercise their $13 million, 2008 option on Adam Dunn, according to the AP. Dunn hit .264 with a .386 OBP, 40 homers and 106 RBI in 2007. The team is also expected to be exploring a contract extension with the slugger.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsWednesday 9/26, 5:57 AM CT
Adam Dunn is expected to have knee surgery Wednesday, ending his season, the Reds official site reports. Dunn, who batted .264 with 40 home runs and a career-high 106 RBIs in 152 games this season, enters the offseason in limbo; the club holds a 2008 option at $13 million, but it's not clear yet if the Reds are prepared to pick it up.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsMonday 9/24, 7:29 AM CT
Adam Dunn still is bothered by a sore knee, as he was forced to exit Sunday's game in the sixth inning due to the injury. He'll have the joint examined further on Monday, according to the Cincinnati Post. We'll have to wait and see what the testing reveals before knowing his status for the final week of the regular season.
Adam Dunn, LF, Washington NationalsSaturday 9/22, 7:18 AM CT
