Chad Durbin, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 1/18, 9:28 PM CT
Chad Durbin has agreed to a $2.125MM deal with the Phillies to avoid arbitration, according to team writer Todd Zolecki's twitter page.

Our View: Durbin is capable of being a solid middle reliever when healthy, but his fantasy value should remain low for the 2010 campaign.

According to the official Twitter page of the Philadelphia Phillies, the team has activated pitcher Chad Durbin of the DL. In a corresponding move, the team has optioned pitcher Rodrigo Lopez back to Triple-A.

Our View: Durbin has been solid at times when healthy, but he is just an average middle reliever. His 4.62 ERA is less than stellar, but he is a workhorse who can get outs. He should help out the Phillies' pen, but he won't help anyone's fantasy team.

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that injured Phillies' reliever Chad Durbin is scheduled to make his first rehab appearance on Wednesday in Single-A Clearwater. Durbin is still suffering from a strained back muscle.

Our View: The Phils have several injured relievers nearing a return, and Durbin is one of those guys. He will pitch Wednesday, and then the team will evaluate him again to determine what the next step is. We will keep you updated on his status.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, reliever Chad Durbin (shoulder) is expected to head to a rehab assignment in the next four or five days.

Our View: Durbin is not expected to come off the DL when eligible on August 7th. He's progressing slower than the team would like, which is bad news for a very banged up Phillies' bullpen.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, injured reliever Chad Durbin played long toss on Tuesday.

Our View: Still no word on when Durbin will return to the mound, but the reliever is eying a return in mid-August. He's been on the DL with a strained lat since last Saturday and is just one of many walking wounded out of the Phils' bullpen.

Chad Durbin has been placed on the 15-day DL with a strained muscle in his back, according to the Associated Press. Andrew Carpenter was recalled from Triple-A to fill his roster spot.

Our View: Durbin is 1-2 with a poor 4.62 ERA over 48.2 innings of relief. He should not be missed in fantasy leagues while recovering on the DL.

Reliever Chad Durbin has signed a one-year deal with the Phillies for $1.635 million, and thus avoid arbitration, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Durbin has little value for fantasy owners, but he was a solid part of Philadelphia's 'pen. He threw nearly 90 innings last season, and compiled a 2.87 ERA.
Chad Durbin, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 6/27, 3:35 PM CT
Chad Durbin continues to be one of Philadelphia's best offseason pickups, according to The Sports Network. The right-hander hasn't allowed an earned run over his last 13.2 innings, covering 11 appearances, and he's allowed runs in just five of his 30 trips to the mound this year.

Our View: Durbin doesn't have any value in traditional formats, his fantasy-worth rests in leagues that roster middle relievers and those that reward holds.

Chad Durbin, who was conditioned this spring as a starter, and in a battle for the final slot in the rotation, was told today he would begin the season in long relief, this according to the Philadelphia Daily News. The right-hander is scheduled to pitch in a Grapefruit League game Tuesday and an exhibition against Toronto at Citizens Bank Park Friday. Obviously, that means he will be pitching on two days rest. Which appears to put him on track for the bullpen once the season starts. Durbin has no fantasy value in traditional formats.

Chad Durbin will start in place of the injured Andrew Miller on Wednesday, according to the AP. Durbin is 7-3 with a 4.36 ERA in 26 games (14 starts) this year, and considering that Kenny Rogers is due back from the DL soon, this may be the only start Durbin receives.
