Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/26, 5:58 PM CT
Adam Everett performed well in Wednesday's 4-2 loss at the Angels, as he went 2-for-4 with a single and a two-run homer off Joe Saunders.

Our View: Everett was in need of a solid performance as he was hitless over his previous three games (eight at-bats). He holds an anemic .184 batting average this month, and hit his first homer since June 10 (at launching pad U.S. Cellular Field).
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersSunday 5/10, 3:31 PM CT
Adam Everett went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the Tigers' 5-3 win on Sunday. Everett is hitting .281 on the year.

Our View: Everett does not have much fantasy value, as he only has one home run on the year. He has little to offer fantasy owners, so only use him if you are desperate up the middle.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 4/17, 8:33 PM CT
Shortstop Adam Everett has been scratched from Friday's lineup due to the flu, the Seattle Times reports. Ramon Santiago will start in his place against the Mariners.

Our View: We imagine that Everett is day-to-day. This news hopefully doesn't affect your fantasy team.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 3/26, 9:09 AM CT
Tigers shortstop Adam Everett should be back with the team in short order after leaving the team's spring training game with an ankle injury on Wednesday, according to the Detroit Free-Press.

Our View: Everett has zero fantasy value, even if you play in a 50-team AL-only league. Okay, that's probably stretching it, but this is a guy who hasn't had an OBP above .290 since 2004.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 3/25, 1:13 PM CT
Adam Everett sustained an apparent ankle injury in the first inning of Wednesday's game against the Mets. He was forced out of action in the first inning.

Our View: Ramon Santiago would be the top candidate to replace Everett if forced to miss time. Everett holds little fantasy value with his bat.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 12/8, 2:39 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, the Tigers have inked Adam Everett, according to FOX Sports. It is a one-year deal for $1 million, plus incentives.

Our View: The acquisition is pending a physical. That likely puts the Tigers out of consideration to trade for Jack Wilson. Everett will offer little with his bat, but is solid defensively.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersSaturday 12/6, 6:33 PM CT
The Orioles have expressed interest in Adam Everett, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: Everett offers little with his bat but is a solid defensive shortstop. The Orioles currently do not have a shortstop on their 40-man roster.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 12/5, 1:14 PM CT
The Tigers are going to meet with Adam Everett's rep at the upcoming Winter Meetings, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com.

Our View: He would be a good acquisition for Detroit as he is solid defensively and could likely be signed for a favorable price. There are other undisclosed MLB clubs interested in Everett as well.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 11/20, 2:37 PM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports believes Adam Everett would be a good fit for the Tigers.

Our View: He could likely be signed for a low price, and Tigers' third-base coach Gene Lamont worked with Everett during their time together in Houston. The Tigers wouldn't need him to be strong offensively either in a potent lineup that features Miguel Cabrera and Curtis Granderson.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 10/7, 1:40 PM CT
Shortstop Adam Everett will be a free agent after the season, and the Twins are unlikely to resign him, according to TwinsBaseball.com.

Our View: Everett has never been a good hitter, and his average was .213 this year. His penchant has always been fielding, and he didn't even do that very well in 2008, sporting a fielding percentage of .967.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 8/19, 7:16 PM CT
Adam Everett is out on Tuesday and will also sit on Wednesday due to a bruised right hand, the AP reports.

Our View: Everett is about to see a reduction in playing time, too. Alexi Casilla could be back as soon as Wednesday, and the Twins will find time for Nick Punto at short.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 8/18, 11:50 PM CT
Adam Everett, who left Monday's game after being hit on the hand by a foul ball, had X-rays after the game, which were negative, according to the AP.

Our View: Everett is expected to be ready for Tuesday's game.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 8/18, 9:16 PM CT
Adam Everett left Monday's game in the seventh inning with a bruised right hand. Brendan Harris replaced him in the lineup.

Our View: We'll update you on Everett's status when more is known.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/13, 10:09 AM CT
Adam Everett started his sixth straight game at shortstop Tuesday with Brendan Harris out of the lineup for the third straight, according to the Star Tribune. Manager Ron Gardenhire said, "We signed Everett to play shortstop. I think we're starting to see the guy we signed, finally healthy or almost healthy. The arm strength's not totally there, but we're getting a little bit of what we hoped from the beginning until all the shoulder injuries came."

Our View: Everett has registered a hit in all six games, with two RBI coming in each of his last three. He is worth starting in AL-only leagues while he is hot.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/30, 8:27 AM CT
Adam Everett has been activated from the DL, according to the Star Tribune. The team placed Alexi Casilla on the 15-day DL as the adjoining move, due to a torn ligament in his right thumb.

Our View: Everett will see some action, but is not worth fantasy consideration as he holds a .189 average over 74 at-bats with the Twins this season.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 7/29, 7:38 PM CT
The Twins have designated shortstop Adam Everett for assignment, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Everett was sent to the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis on May 22nd and completed a 20-day rehab assignment yesterday, forcing Minnesota to make a decision concerning his future with the club. The Twins have 10 days to release or trade the veteran, who signed a one-year, $2.6 million deal with the club in the offseason. The strong play of Alexi Casilla, the re-emergence of Nick Punto, and the versatility of Brendan Harris made Everett the odd man out.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 7/24, 3:22 PM CT
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Adam Everett went 1-for-3 with the go-ahead single for Triple-A Rochester on Thursday. Everett will play five games with Rochester — batting second and playing shortstop. He is recovering from shoulder tendinitis.

Our View: Everett’s 20-game rehab window expires Monday, so the Twins must either move him to the big league roster, trade him, designate him for assignment or keep him on the disabled list (with Everett’s permission). Expect him to rejoin the big league roster.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 7/21, 5:22 PM CT
Adam Everett recently had another cortisone shot in his sore right shoulder, manager Ron Gardenhire informs the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The shortstop has played in four minor league rehab games.

Our View: Everett isn't much of a hitter, but the Twins would love to have his glove at short. It doesn't sound like he'll be back very soon.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 7/11, 9:58 AM CT
Adam Everett is playing minor league games with the Twins' Gulf Coast League rookie team as he recovers from his right shoulder strain, according to the Star Tribune. We went 1-for-3 on Wednesday, and is eventually expected to move up to Triple-A Rochester to battle better competition.

Our View: There remains no definite timetable for his return to the Twins, but if he doesn't suffer any setbacks for another two weeks or so, he could be activated from the DL.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 6/19, 9:54 AM CT
Adam Everett, who is battling a right shoulder strain, is not returning to the Twins anytime soon, according to the Star Tribune. He made some light throws on Wednesday, but remains a long way from returning.

Our View: Everett was only hitting .189 over 25 games this season, and Brendan Harris is doing better at shortsop, and will get support from Nick Punto when he returns from the DL, meaning Everett isn't going to be rushed back to the club.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 5/22, 11:55 AM CT
Adam Everett is headed back to the DL, according to the Star Tribune. He is experiencing more pain in his right shoulder.

Our View: Brendan Harris will cover shortstop against Texas today, and the team will announce a roster move after the game. Everett is still solid with his glove, but held little fantasy value with a .189 batting average, and only seven RBI and nine runs scored over 25 games.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 5/12, 8:45 PM CT
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, shortstop Adam Everett has made some nice plays since returning from his right shoulder injury, but there are lingering questions about his arm strength. "I don't remember his arm strength before [this season]," Twins skipper Ron Gardenhire said. "He always got us out, but it was never, 'Wow.' I'm hoping that's what he's doing now, just getting the out."

Our View: Everett's home run on Sunday night was his first since June 2, 2007.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 5/2, 3:59 PM CT
The Twins activated Adam Everett from the DL Friday. He has been out since a shoulder strain. To make room on the roster, Brian Buscher was sent to Triple-A Rochester.

Our View: Everett isn't going to hit enough to help out your fantasy squad.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/30, 1:42 PM CT
Adam Everett is eligible to come off the DL today, but Manager Ron Gardenhire said that the team is shooting for Friday, according to the Star Tribune. He is recovering from a right shoulder strain, and took batting practice and fielded grounders Tuesday. He made several throws to first base, but none were reportedly hard. The Twins are off on Thursday, so Everett will test his shoulder in a pregame workout today. If all goes favorably, the team could make a roster move after the game.

Our View: Gardenhire said the team likely would send out a position player when Everett is activated and continue with an eight-man bullpen until they add another starting pitcher. Matt Tolbert and Nick Punto will continue to platoon at shortstop until Everett returns to action.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 4/29, 10:51 PM CT
Adam Everett, recovering from a shoulder injury, is just starting to take grounders and throw to first base, according to the AP. His return does not appear imminent.

Our View: Matt Tolbert and Nick Punto will continue sharing time at shortstop until Everett is ready.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 4/22, 7:59 PM CT
Adam Everett received a second cortisone shot in his right shoulder on Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. The shortstop is on the DL due to a shoulder strain.

Our View: Two shots within a week seems like a bad deal, but we're not doctors. Anyway, Everett remains out, which continues to open up time for Matt Tolbert and Nick Punto.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersSaturday 4/19, 1:46 PM CT
The Minnesota Twins are going to send SS Adam Everett to the disabled list, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Our View: Everett has tendinitis in his right shoulder. The Twins will be promoting a player from Triple-A Rochester to take his place but have not announced who that player will be yet.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 4/18, 8:45 AM CT
Adam Everett received a cortisone shot in his sore right shoulder on Wednesday, and the Twins are waiting to see the results. If his joint doesn't improve, Everett will likely go on the DL, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He could test the shoulder as soon as Friday.

Our View: Matt Tolbert stands to continue seeing time at short, although Nick Punto can play there, too. Tolbert is swinging well and is worth using in AL-only leagues, for now.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/16, 7:45 PM CT
Adam Everett had an MRI on his shoulder on Wednesday and team doctors were scheduled to talk with him about the results tonight before making the results of the test known, this according to MLB.com.

Our View: Everett was out of the lineup on Wednesday, and the team will continue to be very careful with their slick fielding shortstop until a determination is made on how to best deal with the injury. Nick Punto stared on Wednesday and will split time with Matt Tolbert until Everett is healthy.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 4/15, 4:45 PM CT
Twins shortstop Adam Everett will have his right shoulder examined by the team’s medical staff Wednesday, skipper Ron Gardenhire said, notes the Star Tribune. Everett had a throwing error in the eighth inning of Monday’s 11-9 loss and missed two games over the weekend to rest the shoulder.

Our View: Matt Tolbert is in the starting lineup for tonight’s game against the Tigers.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersTuesday 4/15, 1:17 PM CT
Manager Ron Gardenhire started that Adam Everett is regaining arm strength after being slowed by a sore right shoulder, according to MLB.com. He still isn't back to 100%, but Gardenhire says he is getting closer.

Our View: This is good news, as Everett holds his most value defensively for Minnesota.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersSunday 4/13, 11:33 AM CT
Adam Everett will return to action and get the start at shortstop for the Minnesota Twins as they visit the Kansas City Royals today, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: Everett missed Saturday’s game due to a sore shoulder, a problem the veteran SS has struggled to overcome since spring training. He’ll be back in the lineup and batting 9th in the order today.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersSaturday 4/12, 9:15 AM CT
Adam Everett sat out Friday's game against the Royals to protect his sore shoulder, according to the AP. Everett has been plagued by a sore shoulder since spring training, and Manager Gardenhire decided not to aggravate the injury further with temperatures in the 30s.

Our View: He doesn't offer much offensively, evident by his current .095 batting average, but he is still solid defensively.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 12/13, 12:33 PM CT
Adam Everett signed a one-year contract with the Twins Thursday, one day after he wasn't tendered by the Astros, according to the AP. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Everett could handle the everyday shortstop duties for the Twins following the trade of Jason Bartlett. He's great with the glove but offers very little offensively.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersWednesday 12/12, 3:14 PM CT
With Miguel Tejada's arrival, Adam Everett was already without a starting job. Now it appears as though he'll be out of a job altogether. GM Ed Wade has informed Everett that, barring some unforeseen move, he will not be tendered a contract, according to the Houston Chronicle. Everett hit just .232 in 220 at-bats with the 'Stros last year. He missed half the year with a broken leg.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersSunday 9/16, 10:32 PM CT
Adam Everett, out since June 15 with a broken leg, was activated from the DL after Sunday's game. Interim manager Cecil Cooper said Everett will play "in a week or so," according to the AP.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 8/24, 12:27 PM CT
Adam Everett took batting practice and also jogged lightly Thursday, the Houston Chronicle reports. He's coming back from a fractured leg, and should be ready to play at some point in September.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersThursday 8/9, 10:48 AM CT
Adam Everett is continuing to make progress in his recovery from a broken fibula. "I'm taking ground balls," he said in the Houston Chronicle. "I'm hitting some soft-toss and off a tee. Hopefully it's just a matter of time. I saw (Dr. Dave Lintner on Monday) and he says I'm right on schedule." Everett was told the injury, which occurred on June 14, would take 4-8 weeks to heal, so it shouldn't be long before he returns to the lineup.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 7/2, 8:07 AM CT
Adam Everett took grounders on his knees on Sunday. It was his first action on the field since breaking his left fibula two weeks ago, according to the Houston Chronicle. More should be known about his status after he's examined on Monday, but he likely won't come off the disabled list until mid July.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 6/15, 12:59 AM CT
Adam Everett broke his left fibula in Thursday's loss to Oakland and is expected to miss 4-8 weeks, the Astros official site reports. Eric Bruntlett will likely play shortstop while Everett is out, with Mark Loretta another option.

Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersMonday 5/21, 9:57 AM CT
Astros utility infielder Mark Loretta started his second straight game at shortstop on Sunday. Manager Phil Garner is simply giving struggling starter Adam Everett a brief break. Everett is batting .190 overall and .129 in May. "I've been taking my extra batting practice and trying to find it, and sometimes I think I go overboard with it and I try to figure it out too much," Everett tells the Houston Chronicle.
Adam Everett, SS, Detroit TigersFriday 3/16, 11:42 AM CT
Adam Everett has missed the last two days with back stiffnesds, the Astros official site reports. He did take grounders and batting practice Thursday, however, and likely would have played had it been the regular season.
