Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 2/8, 5:40 PM CT
Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com states that the Indians are not interested in Felipe Lopez.

Our View: The Indians missed out on Orlando Hudson to the rival Twins, but apparently don't see Lopez as a worthy addition to help shore up their middle infield.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 2/1, 4:07 PM CT
The Rockies are not going to target Felipe Lopez, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: The Rockies like Lopez, but he is not viewed as a fit. The Cardinals were previously said to be interested in adding Lopez, who batted .310 in 2009.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 1/29, 6:44 PM CT
According to Jon Heyman on Twitter, the Cardinals and Rockies are two teams vying for the services of free agent infielder Felipe Lopez.

Our View: Lopez had a fine season last year, hitting .310 with nine homers and 57 RBI, and could be a valuable option for plenty of teams due to his versatility. He has experience at second, short, third and the outfield and would seem especially enticing to a tinkering manager like the Cardinals' Tony LaRussa. Stay tuned.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 12/29, 9:49 AM CT
The Cardinals are believed to be eyeing a potential reunion with Felipe Lopez, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: He could be another fallback option should the club fail to retain Matt Holliday. Lopez hit .310 with nine home runs and 57 RBI in 151 games between the Diamondbacks and the Brewers last season. He spent 43 games with the Cardinals in 2008.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 9/14, 10:08 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 1-for-4 with a single in tonight's 2-0 loss at Chicago.

Our View: The Brewers only mustered four hits in the shutout loss. Lopez is riding a five-game hitting streak.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 9/9, 3:58 PM CT
Felipe Lopez accounted for the Brewers lone tally on Wednesday with a solo home run off left specialist Trever Miller in the eighth inning of a 5-1 loss to the Cardinals.

Our View: Lopez now has 23 RBI in 177 at-bats with the Brewers this season as opposed to 25 in 345 at-bats with the Diamondbacks. Looks like he's making the most of his opportunities with runners on since leaving the desert.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/27, 10:22 AM CT
MLB.com reports that red hot infielder Felipe Lopez, dealing with atweaked tendon in the arch of his foot, is expected to return to the lineup Thursday.

Our View: Lopez left Tuesday's game and sat out Wednesday's with the arch injury, but it isn't considered severe. No X-rays were taken and it looks like the Brewers just wanted him to rest it on Wednesday. Be sure to get him back in your lineup as he's hitting .363 with ten doubles and 19 RBI since joining the Brew Crew on July 19th.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/26, 3:24 PM CT
According to the Twitter page of Brewers' beat writer Tom Haudricourt, infielder Felipe Lopez is out of Wednesday's game with a right arch injury. Lopez is hitting .363 since being traded to Milwaukee.

Our View: No word yet on how severe this injury is, but it is serious enough to keep him out tonight. We will keep you updated on his status when news is released, but find another option for at least tonight.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/23, 4:15 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI in Sunday's 8-3 loss at Washington.

Our View: The Brewers only mustered six hits in the game. Lopez has a four-game hitting streak, and is batting .349 this month. He continues to hit well since being dealt to Milwaukee.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/2, 7:59 PM CT
Felipe Lopez doubled, scored a run and drove in three in the Brewers' 6-1 win over the Padres on Sunday. He finished the day 1-for-4.

Our View: Lopez is hitting .313 with five RBI since joining the Brewers. The trade didn't make a big splash, but he's been effective for the slumping Milwaukee club.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 7/24, 3:31 PM CT
Felipe Lopez will miss his second straight game on Friday with a "tweaked" hamstring, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: The Brewers "big addition" has played just two games for them so far. Craig Counsell will start in his place at second, while Jason Kendall will lead off.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 7/22, 11:18 AM CT
According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Felipe Lopez will be held out of Wednesday's game due to a tweaked hamstring.

Our View: The injury apparently isn't serious and the Brewers' newest addition is being held out for precautionary measures. He's sore, but should be back in the lineup soon. Make sure to play him when returns, as he's already 5-for-8 with his new club.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/20, 3:57 PM CT
Felipe Lopez isn't expected to join the Brewers in time to start tonight's game against the Pirates, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: Craig Counsell will still man second base for the Brewers tonight.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 7/19, 4:58 PM CT
Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting on his Twitter page that the Brewers have traded for Diamondbacks' second baseman Felipe Lopez in exchange for minor league outfielder Cole Gillespie and minor legue pitcher Roque Mercedes.

Our View: With Rickie Weeks out for the year, the Brewers have been looking for someone who can play second base every day while improving the lineup. Lopez looks like a good fit in Milwaukee, and expect the Brewers to stay active in the trade market, possibly looking for a pitcher to add to their rotation. Lopez should see an increase in his fantasy numbers hitting in a much better lineup in Milwaukee as well.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 7/10, 11:18 PM CT
Felipe Lopez led the Diamondbacks offensively in tonight's 8-0 win over the Marlins at Chase Field, as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. He hit a single and a three-run homer off Ricky Nolasco.

Our View: Lopez raised his team-leading batting average to .301, and has nine RBI over 10 games this month. Keep him active in NL-only leagues while productive.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 7/8, 5:40 PM CT
Felipe Lopez's three run homer on Wednesday capped a five run Diamondbacks eighth inning, as the Snakes rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat San Diego 6-2 at home.

Our View: Lopez has cooled off considerably since his hot start, but is still a decent option in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues, especially if your regular second baseman is hurt.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 6/29, 10:06 AM CT
Felipe Lopez is likely being discussed in a potential deal with the Milwaukee Brewers, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: The D-Backs would be smart to ship out the journeyman infielder while he still has some value. They would lose very little longterm in moving him. Lopez is batting .305 in 285 at-bats in 2009, and is a fringe option at second base in most formats.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 6/24, 11:59 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 2-for-3 and recorded the Diamondbacks' lone RBI in tonight's 2-1 loss to the Rangers at Chase Field.

Our View: Lopez raised his batting average to .307, and he extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 6/23, 11:38 PM CT
Felipe Lopez had his first multi-hit game since June 13 and drove in three runs as the Diamondbacks beat the Rangers 8-2 on Tuesday.

Our View: Lopez has cooled off considerably since his hot start, and is no longer a great option at second base. He should serve as more of a fill-in or injury replacement than everyday starter.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 6/2, 9:02 AM CT
After playing in three straight games since his return from a hamstring injury, Felipe Lopez was removed in the seventh inning of Sunday's game, according to the Arizona Republic. Manager A.J. Hinch doesn't believe that Lopez is fully recovered yet, and he may give Lopez a day off soon.

Our View: Hinch doesn't think that Lopez is fully comfortable at the plate right now, so expect him to see some time off in the near future. Lopez has been a pleasant surprise for the D-Backs so far this year, so fantasy owners need to stay tuned for his status during the next few days.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/28, 9:08 AM CT
Felipe Lopez was out of the lineup for the fourth straight game Wednesday while nursing a tight left hamstring, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: He will be held out until the soreness is gone, to help prevent the ailment from lingering further into the season. He could pinch-hit, and may be ready to return to the starting lineup Friday.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 5/27, 10:14 AM CT
Felipe Lopez was out of the Diamondbacks' lineup for the third straight game Tuesday while nursing a tight left hamstring, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: He was available to pinch-hit, and acting manager A.J. Hinch believes Lopez will likely return to the starting lineup tonight against the Padres.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/25, 10:46 PM CT
Felipe Lopez sat out a second straight game with a tight hamstring, according to the AP.

Our View: The injury is not believed to be serious enough for a DL stint, but its possible the D-Backs hold him out another game. He has been a solid leadoff option for Arizona this season as he is hitting .323 with a .380 OBP.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/11, 11:55 PM CT
Felipe Lopez was great against Cincinnati on Monday, going 3-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season.

Our View: Lopez has been hot all year long and continues to be a must-play, whichever of his multiple eligible positions it may be that you place him in your lineup.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 5/9, 12:23 AM CT
Felipe Lopez was 3-for-5 with two runs scored on Friday in a 4-3 loss to the Nationals.

Our View: Lopez did his best to stick it to his former team, but the D-Backs fell short. However, Flip raised his average to .316 on the season and has been producing nice for fantasy owners this season. He is a viable and serviceable option in all leagues right now.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/30, 10:42 PM CT
Felipe Lopez was 2-for-4 with a solo home run as Arizona fell to the Brewers 4-1 on Thursday. His home run came in the first at bat of the game but Arizona did not score another run with their remaining 27 outs.

Our View: Lopez is hitting .318 despite not getting a hit in four of his last seven games. The best news is that he has only struck out 14 times in 85 at bats. In the past he has been far more prone to the strikeout. Overall, he is doing a good job as the leadoff hitter in Arizona and if their offense ever gets going, his production will do a better job of indicating that.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 4/6, 5:52 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk in Monday's 9-8 win over the Rockies. He hit leadoff for the Diamondbacks.

Our View: Lopez hit only six home runs in 143 games a season ago so this type of power should not necessarily be expected from him. However, Arizona is more of a hitters park than either one of his 2008 home venues. He should make a run at more than 600 at-bats with a healthy first season in Arizona.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/1, 6:21 PM CT
Felipe Lopez was 2-for-4 with three RBI and hit his first home run of the spring on Wednesday.

Our View: Lopez continues to hit this spring. We're still not sold on him though. He had 23 home runs in 2005 for the Reds, but hasn't hit more than nine in any other season. What happened to that guy?
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 3/31, 7:49 PM CT
Felipe Lopez had three hits in four trips on Tuesday. He scored two runs, walked and drove in one, and is now hitting .333 this spring.

Our View: Lopez was as hot as they get to finish the season in St. Louis last year, but he's been wildly inconsistent in his career. God only knows what this season holds in store. Tread with caution.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 3/14, 10:30 PM CT
Felipe Lopez was 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, three RBI, and two runs scored in Puerto Rico's 11-1 win over Team USA on Saturday.

Our View: Lopez will be starting in Arizona in 2009, but it's hard to project what we'll see from the historically inconsistent infielder. A breakout performance is no more likely than a collapse. A little plate discipline will go a long way to a successful season.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 2/28, 9:37 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 0-for-4 on Saturday against the Rangers.

Our View: Lopez is just batting .167 so far this spring after signing a fairly lucrative one-year deal for $3.5 million after being released by the Nationals just last season.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 12/11, 8:45 AM CT
Felipe Lopez has signed a one-year deal with the Diamondbacks worth $3.5 million, according to Sports Illustrated.

Our View: This is a solid signing to shore up Arizona's middle infield, but it remains to be seen if he is viewed as the replacement for Orlando Hudson at second base.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 12/10, 9:50 PM CT
The Diamondbacks have made a one-year offer to Felipe Lopez, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: Lopez, 28, had a down-and-up 2008 season in which he was released by the Washington Nationals on July 31 yet caught on and flourished with the St. Louis Cardinals in the final two months of the season. He ended up hitting a combined .283 with a .343 on-base. He is likely seeking a longer deal than this.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 12/8, 8:41 PM CT
It will be difficult for the Cardinals to re-sign infielder Felipe Lopez because the team has not had luck trading second baseman Adam Kennedy, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Kennedy has been asking for a trade, but the team has been unable to find any takers.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 11/14, 8:12 AM CT
The Cardinals have made an offer to retain second baseman Felipe Lopez, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Lopez hit .384 over two months with the Cardinals last season, and could be a favorable fantasy option for 2009 if he re-signs with St. Louis and roams second base full time.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 10/7, 2:05 PM CT
The St. Louis Cardinals are said to be interested in bringing back Felipe Lopez to be their full-time second baseman next year, according to StLCardinals.com.

Our View: Lopez was fantastic for the Cardinals after being picked up from Washington. He hit .385 in 43 games and drove home 22 runs. He won't hit at that rate for a full season, but if he can perform to a level a few notches below that and steal a few bases, he will certainly be fantasy-worthy next season.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/28, 4:55 PM CT
Felipe Lopez ended his impressive stint with the Cardinals by going 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 11-4 victory over the Reds. He will be a free agent this offseason and has rejuvenated his career while with the Redbirds.

Our View: In 43 games with St. Louis, Lopez hit .385 with 22 RBI and 31 runs scored. Lopez, who historically has struck out at a very high rate, whiffed only 81 times in 476 at bats in 2008.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/23, 10:40 PM CT
Felipe Lopez had three hits for the second straight game Tuesday. He drove in a run and scored twice in the Cards' win over Arizona.

Our View: Lopez is batting .366 in 38 games with St. Louis, as he makes a case to be brought back as a starter next season.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 9/22, 10:56 PM CT
Felipe Lopez knocked three base hits on Monday night in five trips to the plate to lift his overall average to .268.

Our View: While that sounds rather unimpressive it should be noted that after hitting .234 in Washington, Lopez is hitting .354 in 130 AB since joining the Cardinals. After 3-straight 20-SB seasons Lopez has fallen to just seven this year, but for those who remained patient with him he has provided a nice boost in the batting average category.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/18, 5:50 PM CT
In the ever-changing Cardinals lineup Felipe Lopez finds himself batting in the cleanup spot, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Hitting behind Albert Pujols, Lopez should have some RBI opportunities.

Our View: Lopez has gotten extended playing time for the Cardinals over the past few weeks at numerous positions. He has played every spot on the infield except first and has also had time in the outfield. Even with the versatility that Lopez can offer your roster he doesn't have much fantasy value.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/11, 7:31 AM CT
Manager Tony LaRussa stated that Felipe Lopez is likely to cover third base while Troy Glaus recovers from his right shoulder ailment, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Olympian Brian Barden is also a candidate for the job. Brendan Ryan, Cesar Izturis and Aaron Miles have all also served time at third base before.

Our View: Lopez is riding a four-game hitting streak and his numbers have improved since leaving the Nationals. He is worth consideration in NL-only leagues if he gets the nod at third.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 9/6, 9:12 PM CT
Felipe Lopez accounted for two RBI against the Marlins Satuurday night.

Our View: Lopez has been a different player in St. Louis. He is hitting .371 in 22 games with his new team after hitting .241 over the past two seasons with the Nationals. It seems like he is due for a slump and we would be surprised to see him finish his Cardinals' season hitting over .350.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/4, 7:51 AM CT
Felipe Lopez now has an 11-game hitting streak after collecting two singles in the Cardinals loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Lopez is hitting .377 in his time with the Cardinals, and looks like an entirely different player since leaving Washington. He could help fantasy owners down the stretch, as he also has two home runs and three stolen bases in that same period.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/17, 7:55 AM CT
Felipe Lopez started for the fifth time in six games for the Cardinals on Saturday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He has stated at second base, left field, and shortstop.

Our View: Lopez entered Saturday hitting .360 (10-for-28) with seven runs and two stolen bases as a starter with St. Louis. He is hitting better with more motivation now while playing for a contender, and could be a sleeper in NL-only leagues down the stretch.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 8/15, 9:46 PM CT
Felipe Lopez tripled and singled and scored two runs in the Cards' 5-3 win over Cincinnati Friday. He is batting .357 (10-for-28) since joining St. Louis.

Our View: Lopez has been playing pretty much every day and could be a sneaky MI play over the final six weeks.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/6, 5:20 PM CT
The newly signed Felipe Lopez is starting in left field tonight for the Cardinals. He's hitting seventh in the batting order.

Our View: The fact that Lopez is playing the outfield in his first start seems to be proof that he'll be used a utility role and not as a starting option at shortstop or second. However, if he turns it around at the plate, that could change.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/6, 7:07 AM CT
Former Nationals' infielder Felipe Lopez has been signed by the Cardinals, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He replaces Brendan Ryan on the roster, who has been sent down to Triple-A Memphis.

Our View: Lopez is a switch-hitter and will hold some value to the Cardinals as a bench performer, but does not merit fantasy attention in mixed leagues.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 8/1, 9:01 AM CT
Felipe Lopez was released by the the Washington Nationals after yesterday's game, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Lopez was making $4.9 million this season, and he was hitting just .234 with a .305 OBP and .314 slugging percentage. Lopez never came close to repeating his breakout 2005 season, and at age 28, it's hard to envision him doing so now.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 7/20, 6:36 PM CT
With more than a few of the hitters for Washington finding their names and faces on our list of headlines for today, second baseman Felipe Lopez is also deserving of credit in the Nats' 15-6 win over Atlanta. Lopez went 3-for-4 with his 18th double of the season, totaling three RBIs and three runs scored on the day.

Our View: This was Lopez's first multi-hit game since July 6th, also posting his first RBIs since July 1st. Clearly there is no need to rush him to the fantasy lineup, hitting just .238 through July.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 7/4, 3:44 PM CT
Nationals infielder Felipe Lopez is available for trade, according to Nationals.com "We are open to any trade that will make us better long-term," general manager Jim Bowden said.

Our View: Lopez was once a highly touted prospect who many thought would turn out to be great. And for one season in 2005, he was. He stole a few bases in past years, making him a tolerable fantasy player, but this year he has been terrible, and a change of scenery isn 't likely to change that.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 6/27, 8:11 PM CT
The Orioles are said to be interested in the Nats' Felipe Lopez, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Washington is believed to be looking for the best deal for Lopez, who has been on the bench for the previous three games. The team believes he hasn't played up to his capabilities and his future in Washington beyond this season is in doubt.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/5, 3:53 PM CT
The Nationals selected right-handed pitcher Aaron Crow with the ninth overall pick in today's draft, according to We'veGotHeart.com.

Our View: He was viewed as the number two pitching prospect, and is believed to have the best fastball, which reaches 96-97 mph. He went 13-0 with a 2.35 ERA in 15 starts this season at the University of Missouri, and is a potential "ace" for the Nationals.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/5, 3:15 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 1-for-2 and generated the Nationals' only RBI in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Cardinals.

Our View: That was only his 17th RBI of the season, and only his second over his last 18 games.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/15, 2:59 PM CT
Felipe Lopez went 0-for-2 but was awarded the game's only RBI on a sacrifice in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Mets.

Our View: Lopez has now collected an RBI in three of his last four games. He has two multi-hit games over that span as well.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 5/14, 9:36 PM CT
The Washington Nationals made the best of their six hits to pull a 5-3 win over the New York Mets. The charge was started by leadoff man 2B Felipe Lopez , going 2-for-2 with two walks, hitting his fifth double of the season to garner one RBI and one run scored.

Our View: Lopez is enjoying good returns in May, going 14-for 48, though he has yet to steal a base after swiping four in April.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/30, 8:08 PM CT
Felipe Lopez, batting leadoff for the Nationals, went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a SB on Wednesday.

Our View: Lopez started at second base and he is quickly rendering Ronnie Belliard as irrelevant. Lopez may not return to his previous levels of glory, but with continued playing time he should be able to score enough runs and steal enough bases to be a very valuable player in NL Only leagues.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/24, 10:30 PM CT
Felipe Lopez had two hits on Thursday including a grand slam which led to a career-high tying six RBI for the Nationals.

Our View: You would have to think he would have to go about 0-for-15 to work his way out of the starting lineup with the way he has hit of late. Ronnie Belliard owners should be very nervous and looking for other options.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/23, 10:11 AM CT
Manager Manny Acta has commented that Felipe Lopez has overtaken Ronnie Belliard for the starting spot at second base for the Nationals, according to the Washington Post. Acta added, "Lopez is going to pretty much have to take himself out of it. He played himself into it with the lack of offense that we had, and he's been making things happen for us, getting on base over the last four games." Belliard was demoted due to a .214 batting average.

Our View: Lopez is hitting .275 over 51 at-bats with three stolen bases, and should play more while back at second base. His fantasy value has improved following the move.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/19, 9:43 PM CT
Felipe Lopez had two hits and a run scored on Saturday night giving him five hits and three runs the past two nights.

Our View: Lopez has upped his batting average to .275, and given the fact that Ronnie Belliard is only hitting .212 in the early going, Lopez is making a real push to take over the starting job at second base.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/19, 7:36 PM CT
Felipe Lopez, who has been in the lineup the past few days, will also be in the lineup again on Sunday as he attempts to recapture a starting role with the Nationals, this according to MLB.com. "It's good to be back in the lineup," Lopez said. "I think I can do a lot of things to help this team -- like I've done in the past."

Our View: Lopez stole 24 bases and scored 70 runs last season, so it's not as if he is devoid of talent. He can be a very useful bench player even in mixed leagues, especially since he has already dressed for seven games in the outfield.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 4/18, 9:31 PM CT
Felipe Lopez had three hits, scored two runs, and stole his third base of the season on Friday for the Nationals.

Our View: Lopez will also start on Saturday for the Nats, and if he continues to cause havoc at the plate and on the bases, one would figure that he would continue to find his way into the lineup on a very consistent basis.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 4/18, 8:01 PM CT
Felipe Lopez may not be a starter with the Nationals anymore, but he continues to pick up at-bats thanks to a positive attitude and an ability to play multiple positions, this according to MLB.com. "We're struggling offensively and he's one of those guys who could get involved and maybe make things happen for us," manager Manny Acta said.

Our View: Lopez is starting at second base on Friday, and will play shortstop on Saturday. Too bad he is hitting just .194 in the early going, but his versatility still gives him value in NL Only leagues.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 4/7, 10:00 PM CT
Felipe Lopez played another game in the outfield on Monday night and he was able to produce two hits, an RBI, a run scored and a SB on the night. That's five games in the outfield and counting. Since most leagues use an in-season count of five or 10 games to be elgible at a new position, Lopez is about to join Mark DeRosa as two of the most valuable players in NL Only leagues because of their versatility.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/5, 4:53 PM CT
Felipe Lopez appeared in his third straight game in the outfield on Saturday and he went 1-for-3 with a walk at the plate while picking up an assist in the field. Already qualifying as a shortstop and second baseman, Lopez is now charging toward adding outfield to his position tree. Lopez has a lot to prove this season after hitting only .245 last year, but he does provide a lot of speed and would become an excellent NL Only pickup given his position eligibility, that is if he doesn't get traded to the AL.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/3, 12:23 PM CT
Felipe Lopez is set to make his left field debut against the Phillies on Thursday, according to MLB.com. Lopez is playing in the outfield due to injuries to Elijah Dukes and Wily Mo Pena, and Manager Manny Acta stated, "Lopez is a very good athlete. We have approached him about it. He has a great attitude. He has no problem with it. It will be good for him to get those at-bats."
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 3/27, 3:25 PM CT
Felipe Lopez hit his second home run of the spring on Thursday. He took a 1-1 Steve Trachsel offering over the right field wall. Lopez is auditioning as the team tries to peddle his services.
Felipe Lopez, 2B, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 3/24, 11:03 AM CT
The Nationals are still trying to trade Felipe Lopez, this according to the Washington Post. Last week it was reported that the team was scouting ex-Royal and ROY winner, Angel Berroa, as his replacement. The Post reports that scouts and executives from other teams appear more interested in Ronnie Belliard, who is cheaper -- $3.5 million for the next two years as opposed to L¿pez's $4.9 million for 2008 -- and performing better. Belliard, who appears to have won the starting second base gig for the Nats, is hitting .383 this spring, López .231. No player is safe in Washington.
