Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 9/4, 12:08 PM CT
Corey Patterson has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville.

Our View: The journeyman outfielder was batting .331 with five home runs and 22 RBI in 29 games at Nashville. He was released from the Nationals earlier this season.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 7/29, 8:22 PM CT
Corey Patterson has been released from the Washington Nationals organization.

Our View: Once one of the most promising players in all of baseball, Patterson has now been released by a team in the midst of a historically bad season. He turns 30 next month, so that formerly limitless potential can no longer be assumed to be on the way. It's likely someone will sign him, but even more likely he's taken his last major league at-bat.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 6/20, 2:26 PM CT
According to the Washington Post, the Nationals have sent outfielder Corey Patterson to Triple-A.

Our View: Patterson was just a temporary fill-in for Josh Willingham who was on the bereavement list after the tragic death of his younger brother. The move was expected.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 6/13, 3:56 PM CT
Corey Patterson has been recalled by the Nationals from Triple-A Syracuse, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He will provide depth in the outfield while Josh Willingham mourns the death of his younger brother, who was killed in a car accident Friday. Patterson is not a good hitter, and his stint with the club looks to be brief, meaning he does not garner fantasy attention.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 2/28, 7:15 PM CT
Corey Patterson went 0-for-3 on Saturday in Washington's game against the Cardinals.

Our View: Patterson is yet to get a hit this spring, so he will have a hard time making the club if he can't pick it up.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 12/23, 3:22 PM CT
Corey Patterson has signed a minor league deal with the Nationals worth $800,000, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Patterson has favorable speed but only hit 47 homers over his last four seasons after breaking out with 24 with the Cubs in 2005. The 29-year-old outfielder is not likely going to get his career back on track with the Nationals. He notably parted ways with high-profile agent Scott Boras in the off-season.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 12/8, 1:27 PM CT
Corey Patterson has fired high-profile agent Scott Boras and is now employing Jim Bronner and Bob Gilhooley, according to ESPN.

Our View: It is unclear why he decided to part ways with Boras at the onset of Winter Meetings. Perhaps Boras didn't hold him in high regard as some of his elite clients, such as Mark Teixeira.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 10/7, 11:29 AM CT
The Cincinnati Reds will not bring back outfielder Corey Patterson, according to MLB.com. "I don't think he'll be back. We'll turn the page." Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said.

Our View: Patterson was awful this year, hitting .205 with a worse than pathetic .238 on-base percentage. It probably didn't help that there were rumors in the media that Patterson was dating manager Dusty Baker's daughter. Baker was so unhappy with the rumor, that he took time out to squash it publicly.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 9/25, 11:19 AM CT
Reds manager Dusty Baker had heard enough of the gossip about his 28-year-old daughter dating Cincinnati outfielder Corey Patterson, so he went out of his way to squash the rumor, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. "This is so far out of line. It's hurtful to my wife and daughter. How can people stoop that low?" Baker asked.

Our View: This is an odd step for the manager to take, as many people are probably hearing about this for the first time. She can probably do better than a .206 hitter, anyway.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/24, 6:46 PM CT
Reds outfielder Corey Patterson's batting average remains under the Mendoza line after a 1-for-4 performance in the Reds loss to Colorado.

Our View: The good news is that Patterson stole his 13th base of the season. However, even if he had 25 steals, it wouldn't be enough to compensate for that average in fantasy play.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/7, 9:37 PM CT
Corey Patterson went 1-for-5 in the Reds loss to Houston, and in his last four games he is 2-for-14.

Our View: Patterson has been playing as of late, but he has struggled lately, as his numbers would indicate. Fantasy owners looking for stolen bases should look elsewhere. He has just one since June 26.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 6/4, 12:59 PM CT
Corey Patterson has been recalled from Triple-A Louisville, according to RedlegNation.com. Ryan Freel has been placed on the DL due to a strained hamstring, as an adjoining move.

Our View: With Jay Bruce firmly planted in center field now, Patterson will hold no fantasy value.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 5/28, 1:45 PM CT
The Reds optioned Corey Patterson to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Our View: We're sure the fine folks in Louisville will be thrilled. Jay Bruce is locked into the center field job in Cincinnati, and Patterson has almost no fantasy value at this point.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/12, 7:02 PM CT
Corey Patterson has struggled to just a .196 mark in 102 AB this season but for now he will continue to bat at the top of the Reds lineup, according to MLB.com. Patterson also has only five SB on the season.

Our View: Ryan Freel, a player with a similar skill set, is batting .313 with a .356 OBP and five SB in 83 AB, and given the depths of the struggles of Patterson, it's really pretty shocking that Freel hasn't taken over on a daily basis for Patterson.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/5, 4:32 PM CT
Corey Patterson stole a base, had a hit, knocked in a run, picked up a walk and scored two runs on Saturday for the Reds. It's starting to look an awful lot like Patterson is going to be in the lineup almost every day, and if that is how the situation works out Patterson goes from being a great NL Only play to looking like a starter in mixed leagues because of his speed and run scored potential from the top of the Reds lineup.
Corey Patterson, CF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/1, 1:57 PM CT
Corey Patterson struggled at the plate against Arizona on Monday, as he went 0-for-4, while leaving three men on base in a 4-2 loss. He started in CF and batted lead-off, and will have to prove he can get on base efficiently if he expects to keep his spot in the order.
