Bryan Corey, P, Texas RangersTuesday 2/10, 9:40 AM CT
Bryan Corey has signed a minor league deal with the Rangers, according to Baseball America.

Our View: The 35-year-old reliever holds a career 5.13 ERA over 98.1 innings pitched in the majors, and looks to be used as organizational depth for the Rangers. He allowed 34 earned runs over 45 innings with San Diego/Boston in 2008.

Bryan Corey has landed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring, according to The Sports Network.

Our View: Corey has a 6.80 ERA and has allowed eight home runs in 45 innings. He has no fantasy value anywhere.

The Padres did not place Bryan Corey on the DL Sunday after he sustained a mild hamstring strain while pitching Saturday night, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Corey worked out on an exercise bike, although he was unavailable to pitch. He will be re-evaluated in San Diego and the Padres will make a decision before Tuesday.

Our View: Over his past eight appearances, Corey has allowed 13 earned runs on 14 hits and three walks over a mere 5.2 innings, and fantasy owners will not miss him if he ultimately lands on the DL.

The Padres acquired Bryan Corey from the Red Sox on Sunday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash, the Ticker reports. The Red Sox designated Corey for assignment on April 30.

Our View: This news should not affect fantasy leagues.
Bryan Corey, P, Texas RangersTuesday 4/29, 3:14 PM CT
Pitcher Bryan Corey has been designated for assignment, according to the Boston Globe. Mike Lowell has been activated from the DL, and the team considered Corey to be expendable to free up a roster spot.

Our View: Corey held no fantasy value prior to his demotion. He got rocked for seven runs over six brief innings this season, and left with a 2.33 WHIP.
Bryan Corey, P, Texas RangersFriday 4/25, 8:58 AM CT
Veteran reliever Bryan Corey re-signed with the organization on Wednesday after clearing waivers following his designation for assignment on April 11, according to The Boston Herald. After Thursday’s game, he was summoned back to the majors when Justin Masterson was sent back to Double-A Portland.

Our View: He holds no fantasy value, especially since the Red Sox have one of the best bullpens in baseball.

Bryan Corey is likely to be designated for assignment, according to the Boston Herald. Mike Timlin is coming off the DL, and the team will need to free up a roster spot for him. Corey has allowed seven earned runs over a mere 4.1 innings of work this season, and is expendable.
