Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 9/24, 6:08 PM CT
Adam Kennedy had another big day at the dish on Thursday as the A' pounded the Rangers 12-3. Kennedy went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI in the win.

Our View: Kennedy has been up and down all season, and he is getting hot again as the season wears down. He has given his career a shot in the arm, and he looks like a completely different player than he was in St. Louis.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 9/20, 6:41 PM CT
Adam Kennedy had a huge day at the dish for the A's on Sunday in their rout of the Indians. Kennedy went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, a run scored, and three RBI in the 11-4 win.

Our View: Kennedy has had a very nice 2009 season, and after being discarded by the Cardinals in the offseason, he has experienced a rebirth in the bay area. He has struggled at times, but overall Kennedy has been very productive this year.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 9/2, 12:27 AM CT
Adam Kennedy was productive in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Royals at McAfee Coliseum, as he went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: Kennedy was in need of a solid performance, as he only had one hit over his previous three games (13 at-bats). He is off to a good start in September after hitting .224 in August.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 8/22, 11:57 PM CT
Adam Kennedy was 3-for-5 and scored the game winning run for the A's on Saturday as Oakland beat the Tigers 3-2. Kennedy is hitting .282 on the season.

Our View: Kennedy scored on a Kurt Suzuki single in the bottom of the ninth, and he was the offensive catalyst for the team tonight. Kennedy continues his surprising 2009 campaign, and he hasn't slowed much this season.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 8/1, 11:42 PM CT
Adam Kennedy went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI in tonight's 6-5 loss to Toronto at McAfee Coliseum.

Our View: Kennedy is riding an eight-game hitting streak, and tied his season-high with three RBI in a game tonight. He continues to fit in very well in the AL with Oakland since being shipped out of St. Louis.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 7/30, 9:26 AM CT
The A's are not likely to trade Adam Kennedy before Friday's non-waivers trading deadline, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: The paper says the team is actually thinking of resigning him for next season instead. After a disappointing two year tenure in St. Louis, Kennedy is batting .296 in Oakland this season, and has driven in 38 runs.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsMonday 7/6, 8:53 PM CT
Adam Kennedy led the A's offensively in tonight's 6-0 win at Boston, as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI. All three of his knocks were singles, and he also swiped a base.

Our View: Kennedy has a hit in four straight games, and stole a base in each of his last two. He should remain active in fantasy lineups.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 6/21, 12:30 AM CT
Adam Kennedy had another huge night at the plate for the A's on Saturday as they defeated the Padres 6-3. Kennedy went 4-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored, and two RBI in the win.

Our View: Kennedy continues to surprise the fantasy world, and owners should start to take him seriously as an option at second base. He is hitting .312 on the year, and is a solid play in all leagues at this point.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 6/11, 5:25 PM CT
Adam Kennedy carried the A's offensively in Thursday's 4-3 win over Minnesota at McAfee Coliseum, as he went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer.

Our View: Kennedy has two RBI in two of his last three games, and has proven to be a nice acquisition for the A's middle infield. He is hitting .328 for the season, and hit .390 in the month of May.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 6/10, 1:04 AM CT
Adam Kennedy went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the Twins at McAfee Coliseum. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View: The A's scored five runs, but only had five hits in the game. Kennedy raised his season average to .336 and now has 19 RBI over 30 games.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 6/4, 4:09 PM CT
For the fourth straight game, A's second basemen Adam Kennedy did not collect a hit on Thursday.

Our View: After seeing his average rise as high as .441 on May 25, Kennedy has steadily seen it drop. It currently rests at .333. If you had been riding the Kennedy wave, it now appears that it is finally time to get off.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 5/31, 6:01 PM CT
Adam Kennedy capped his excellent May with his best game yet against Texas on Sunday, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, the second breaking up a tied game in the top of the ninth and ending up as the game-winning hit.

Our View: Kennedy was shipped out of St. Louis in the offseason after demanding everyday playing time, and it's looking like he may have had a case. He didn't get to the field for Oakland until May 9 but is hitting .390 with four home runs, 15 RBI and five stolen bases through 82 at-bats in the the three weeks since. There's no way he maintains this pace, but that type of production simply cannot be ignored from second base and he's worth picking up and riding out for now until he falls back down to earth.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsFriday 5/29, 7:19 PM CT
Adam Kennedy continues to baffle baseball pundits. He was 3-for-4 on Friday and now has his average up to .408.

Our View: Kennedy has seven doubles, two homers and 13 RBI to go along with his ridiculously high batting average. The A's have no choice but to keep him in the lineup while he's this hot and he could become a permanent fixture at second. No one knows where this is coming from, but Kennedy could be a starting second baseman in mixed leagues with the way he's playing right now.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsMonday 5/25, 6:03 PM CT
Adam Kennedy was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, two RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases in the leadoff role as the A's defeated the Mariners 6-1 on Monday. He has five stolen bases through 15 games.

Our View: Kennedy has been incredible since joining the A's. He is hitting .441 with 13 RBI through 15 games. If he continues to be a run producer and a capable leadoff hitter, he could permanently supplant Mark Ellis as the second baseman. Kennedy is certainly worth a short term fix at second base in AL-only formats.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 5/24, 7:30 PM CT
Adam Kennedy was 2-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win over Arizona.

Our View: Kennedy is now hitting a cool .400 on the season and is quickly become a worthy fantasy second baseman. He didn't play in April, but has been white hot in May since coming to the A's and is worth a roster spot in AL-only leagues (at least) until he cools off.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 5/21, 8:29 PM CT
Adam Kennedy went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in the A's 6-5 loss to the Rays on Thursday.

Our View: Kennedy has hit very well since coming over the the A's in early May. He's hitting .386 with a homer and seven RBI and has worked himself into consideration in AL-only leagues.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 5/17, 3:34 PM CT
Adam Kennedy went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-7 loss at the Tigers. He hit two singles and a solo homer, his first of the season.

Our View: Kennedy started the game at second base, and is hitting very well as of late, as he has seven hits over his last 15 at-bats (four games).
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 5/9, 2:11 PM CT
Adam Kennedy has been recalled by the A's from Triple-A Sacramento, according to MLB.com. Infielder Gregorio Petit was sent down to Sacramento as the adjoining move.

Our View: Kennedy should see some action in the A's infield with Mark Ellis, Nomar Garciaparra and Eric Chavez all on the DL. He is worth consideration for deeper AL-only leagues.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsFriday 5/8, 4:54 PM CT
According to AOL Fanhouse, the Rays have traded infielder Adam Kennedy to the Oakland A's for a player to be named later. He has been assigned to Triple-A Sacramento.

Our View: This move was made for insurance purposes and a possible quick fix due to the A's being decimated by injuries recently. Kennedy gives them depth on the infield after Nomar Garciaparra, Mark Ellis and Eric Chavez all went down. Kenndey won't have any fantasy cred, but could help out a struggling A's team. He was hitting .280 at Triple-A Durham before the move.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 4/1, 9:36 AM CT
The St. Petersburg Times reports that Adam Kennedy will not make the opening day roster. He figures to start the season at Triple-A Durham. Kennedy seems to have expected this outcome all along and called his spring "real productive".

Our View: The second baseman had a solid spring as he hit .302 over 53 at-bats. He also put together an .808 OPS. He holds no fantasy value as long as he is in the minors, but he still figures to be the Rays' insurance against an Akinori Iwamura injury.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 3/25, 8:56 PM CT
Adam Kennedy went 1-for-2 with a two run home run for the Rays in their 4-2 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Our View: Kennedy is still adjusting to his new team and league after his release by St. Louis. He is a solid bench player with limited fantasy value due to his reserve role with the Rays.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 2/26, 3:54 PM CT
Adam Kennedy went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Yankees. He started at second and batted leadoff.

Our View: Kennedy was a solid veteran addition to the Rays, but his fantasy value looks to be limited as a likely reserve.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 2/17, 8:12 PM CT
Adam Kennedy signed a minor-league contract with the Rays, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Kennedy offers a very safe and reliable player for the Rays. He does not have much fantasy value, if any at all, until his role is defined. Most likely he will be just a bench player for the Rays.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsMonday 2/9, 12:51 PM CT
Adam Kennedy has been released by the Cardinals, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The club assumes his $4 million salary for 2009.

Our View: Brendan Ryan, Brian Barden, Tyler Greene, Joe Thurston, Jarrett Hoffpauir and converted outfielder Skip Schumaker are the current front-runners for the starting role at second base. Ryan leads the group with 377 major-league at-bats over parts of two campaigns with the Cardinals. The club could still make a move for free agent Orlando Hudson.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 12/7, 6:55 PM CT
The Cardinals may elect to hold onto Adam Kennedy despite his request for a trade, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: If he were to stay, it would seem he would be in line to start. The Cardinals need to find a second baseman this offseason, should they elect to part with Kennedy.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 12/7, 10:53 AM CT
The Arizona Diamondbacks may be interested in acquiring Cardinals second baseman Adam Kennedy, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Kennedy has requested a trade from the Cardinals, and Arizona is looking for a replacement for Orlando Hudson.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsMonday 11/10, 9:16 AM CT
Adam Kennedy wants to leave St. Louis, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Our View: The Diamondbacks are believed to be interested in Kennedy, as they will likely lose Orlando Hudson to free agency.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 10/29, 3:15 PM CT
Cardinals GM John Mozeliak stated that he will still explore granting Adam Kennedy's trade request, but at this time it may be difficult to move him, according to John Mozeliak in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: The fact that Kennedy made his wish to be traded public is actually a reason for the difficulty in trading him. The Cardinals will want to get something for him if they have to eat his contract, and if other clubs know that they are desperate to deal him, they will have leverage over the Cardinals.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsFriday 9/19, 4:54 PM CT
A day after making a trade request, Adam Kennedy upped his trade value by going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs scored, and a grand slam off of Cubs' ace Carlos Zambrano.

Our View: It was quite a statement from the disgruntled second baseman. A hot finish could mean the Cardinals may be able to actually get something in return for the typically light-hitting lefty.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 9/18, 11:38 PM CT
Adam Kennedy has asked the Cardinals to trade him before next year. In 105 games in 2008 Kennedy is hitting .264 with only 29 RBI. Kennedy told the St. Louis Post Dispatch, "There were times this year I thought I was playing great, then I wouldn't play for a while," Kennedy said. "When that happened, it pretty much confirmed what was going on. That's it. I don't fit in the plans here now or for next year." Cardinals GM, John Mozeliak, has confirmed that the team has received Kennedy's request.

Our View: In 2009, Kennedy will be in the last year of his three year deal he signed in 2007. It has been a disappointing return to the team that drafted him back in 1997. In a year and half with the Cardinals, Kennedy is only hitting .242.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 7/10, 1:29 PM CT
Second baseman Adam Kennedy has been playing through a hairline fracture in his right foot, according to StLCardinals.com.

Our View: Kennedy has played well recently, with a .311 average in June and a .471 average so far in July. He doesn't offer fantasy owners much besides a decent batting average and a stolen base here and there, but in deep NL-only leagues, there are worse options.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 6/24, 6:18 PM CT
Adam Kennedy is making his first career start at first base tonight.

Our View: This may sound like a strange move, but Kennedy has actually done well against lefties this year and is swinging a hot stick of late. Sadly, he's probably a better option than Chris Duncan at this point.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 6/14, 5:49 PM CT
The Cardinals enjoyed a strong pitching performance, but the offense pulled through as well to take the 3-2 over Philadelphia. Second baseman Adam Kennedy was the difference on offense, going 2-for-4 at the plate, hitting his first homer of the season to give us two RBIs on the night.

Our View: Kennedy was a horrific .161 at the dish last month but appears to be coming back into form, hitting .273 thus far through June.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 5/4, 10:20 PM CT
Adam Kennedy went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, one run, and two RBI on Sunday against the Cubs. The second baseman is up to .329 on the season.

Our View: Kennedy is coming off a disastrous 2007 season in which he hit .219, but even when he hits .300, Adam doesn't have much fantasy value. He is lacking in pretty much every other category.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 4/22, 12:37 PM CT
Adam Kennedy will ride the pine in favor of Aaron Miles at second base today, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The team is set to square off against left-handed pitcher Manny Parra and the Brewers.

Our View: He is off to a favorable start as he is hitting 15-for-49 with six RBI and two stolen bases, and is only sitting due to the fact that the team is facing a lefty.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 4/19, 3:08 PM CT
St. Louis 2B Adam Kennedy was the lone bright spot for the Cardinals today as they fell 3-0 at home to the San Francisco Giants. Kennedy went 2-for-4 at the plate, one of just two players with multiple hits for St. Louis, and added a stolen base to the effort.

Our View: Kennedy continue to keep his batting average above .300 (.326 to be exact), a great sign for the second bagger moving forward.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 4/15, 11:11 PM CT
The Cardinals watched 2B Adam Kennedy carry the bulk of the offensive load this evening, going 3-for-4 at the plate (all singles) with one RBI and two runs scored.

Our View: He was one of three players with multiple hits this evening, a list including CF Rick Ankiel (2-for-4) and Skip Schumaker (2-for-4).
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 1/23, 10:46 AM CT
Manager Tony La Russa was disappointed that Adam Kennedy chose to skip the team's Winter Warmup fan fest over the weekend. "I'm disappointed he's not here," La Russa said in the AP. "This is a statement we make to our fans: 'Thanks for coming out,' and he's not here." La Russa said Kennedy owed it to the team, especially after the manager stuck with Kennedy for so long despite his struggles on offense last year. The manager said he won't be giving Kennedy such a long leash this season. "This year, I don't think we have that margin," La Russa said. "Adam is a key guy in that mix so I expect him to return to his winning-player form. But he needs to make sure he dots all the i's."
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 8/15, 12:06 PM CT
Adam Kennedy underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage in his right knee on Tuesday and will be sidelined the rest of the season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It was originally thought that he would be sidelined for only 2-4 weeks.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsSunday 8/12, 12:30 PM CT
The Cardinals placed Adam Kennedy on the DL Sunday with a torn medial meniscus in his right knee. Kenneday, who is hitting a paltry .219 this year, is expected to miss 4-6 weeks of action, which could put his return this season in doubt. Brendan Ryan was recalled from Triple-A Memphis to take his spot on the roster.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 6/20, 5:38 AM CT
Adam Kennedy was out of the lineup for the fourth straight game Tuesday, the AP reports. Scott Spiezio has spelled Kennedy the last two games. Tony La Russa said he plans on starting Kennedy (.211 average) Thursday in the final game of the three-game set with the Royals.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsFriday 4/20, 12:22 PM CT
Adam Kennedy is hitting .205 with two extra-base hits and two runs in 39 at-bats, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. He didn't start against San Francisco lefty Noah Lowry Thursday; Aaron Miles got the call at second base.

Adam Kennedy isn't expected to pitch in an exhibition game until next week, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He's dealing with a pulled muscle in his side.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 2/27, 9:33 AM CT
Adam Kennedy skipped his at-bats during Monday's game, resting what he called an ache near his ribcage, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Kennedy said it was nothing serious. "It's not too bad," Kennedy said. "The best thing at this point was to rest it and not blow it out."
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 11/28, 2:11 PM CT
ESPN reports that the Cardinals have signed Adam Kennedy to a three-year deal worth $10 million. He'll play second base for the Cards, although he could lose at-bats to Aaron Miles against lefties. Kennedy hit just .193 against lefties in 2006, compared to .291 against right-handers.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 11/2, 11:59 AM CT
The LA Times reports that the Angels won't attempt to re-sign Adam Kennedy over the offseason. However, GM Bill Stoneman did state that the team may be open to a short-term deal. "I told him if he doesn't find a deal to his liking, and he'd be interested in coming back on a short-term contract, we'd be open to that," Stoneman said. Kennedy has reportedly already drawn interest from several teams.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 10/31, 11:49 AM CT
Free agent Adam Kennedy said he has "definite interest" in playing for the Mets next season, according to the New York Post. Kennedy hit .273 with four homers, 55 RBI, 16 steals and a .334 on-base percentage for the Angels this season. Other options for the Mets at second base appear to be Julio Lugo and Rich Aurilia.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsThursday 8/17, 6:12 PM CT
Adam Kennedy was suspended four games for his role in Wednesday's brawl with the Rangers. If Kennedy does not appeal, his suspension will begin today.
Adam Kennedy, 2B, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 8/16, 10:21 PM CT
A day after Rangers pitcher Vicente Padilla was ejected for hitting two Angels batters with pitches, Adam Kennedy charged the mound after being hit by a pitch thrown by Scott Feldman Wednesday. A bench-clearing brawl ensued, and Kennedy and Feldman were ejected. Both likely will face suspensions, as well as Padilla and perhaps others. Angels pitchers Kevin Gregg and Brendan Donnelly were tossed out of the game the previous inning for hitting batters, too.
