DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 10/9, 11:55 AM CT
White Sox's beat writer Scott Merkin is reporting on Twitter that DeWayne Wise has declared for free agency instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A.

Our View: Wise is best remembered for his perfect game-saving catch to preserve Mark Buehrle's historic outing, but his season was a major disappointment outside of that. He has the tools, but he needs to put it together at the plate in addition to staying healthy.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxWednesday 9/30, 5:53 PM CT
DeWayne Wise went 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in today's 5-1 loss at Cleveland. This was the opener of their doubleheader.

Our View: The Sox only mustered six hits in the game, and Wise was their lone source of scoring. Wise has a hit in three straight games, and an RBI in each of his last two.

MLB.com is reporting that the White Sox have recalled DeWayne Wise, Tyler Flowers, Chris Getz, Josh Fields, and Carlos Torres from the minors. Wise and Getz are both coming off a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.

Our View: Four of the five players have seen significant time with the big club this season, and they will probably see time over the last month as well. Flowers, the team's top catching prospect, figures to get plenty of opportunity as well.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxSunday 8/30, 9:50 AM CT
According to MLB.com, rehabbing White Sox's players DeWayne Wise and Chris Getz will rejoin the team when rosters expand on Tuesday. Both players are currently on rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte.

Our View: This makes sense, considering the team can wait one day and save the headache of corresponding roster moves. Both players should be back on Tuesday, and both will have to fight for playing time when they return.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxWednesday 8/26, 11:46 AM CT
MLB.com is reporting that White Sox's outfielder DeWayne Wise is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday for Triple-A Charlotte. Wise has been on the DL since August 18 with a strained AC joint in his right shoulder.

Our View: Wise has struggled with injuries all season, but it looks like he will be ready to return to the team early in September. He will have to fight for playing time when he returns, and he doesn't figure to make much of any impact this season.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxTuesday 8/18, 4:39 PM CT
DeWayne Wise has been placed on the 15-day DL with a strained joint in his right shoulder, according to TSN. Pitcher Freddy Garcia was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte as the adjoining move.

Our View: Wise has the tools to develop into a solid starting outfielder in the majors, but is only batting .200 with Chicago right now, meaning he won't be missed in fantasy leagues while on the shelf.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxSunday 7/19, 6:07 PM CT
DeWayne Wise hit his first home run of the season on Sunday in the White Sox' 10-2 loss to the Orioles. Wise went 1-for-3 with the solo shot.

Our View: Wise has struggled badly since coming off the DL late in June, and his average is currently sitting at .196 on the season. He has been better as of late, and manager Ozzie Guillen seems intent on getting him in the lineup. With an average under .200 and only one home run, he is far from a major offensive threat, however.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxWednesday 6/3, 5:22 PM CT
According to the Chicago Tribune, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen told reporters on Wednesday that people need to be more patient with DeWayne Wise, who has gone 0-for-8 since coming off of the disabled list last Friday.

Our View: The response came to the question of why the Sox are starting Wise over Brian Anderson. Wise is hitting just .172 with no home runs or RBIs in 12 games for the White Sox this season, while Anderson is batting .269 through 32 games. At this point, we don't really know either, but Ozzie seems to be right more often than not. Wise currently has no fantasy value, though.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 5/29, 12:38 PM CT
According to the Chicago Tribune, the White Sox have activated outfielder DeWayne Wise from the DL. Wise has been out since April with a separated shoulder. He will replace Carlos Quentin on the roster, who was placed on the 15-day DL today.

Our View: Wise should get some playing time in the Sox' outfield, but he is a below average hitter who should not garner any fantasy interest. He was hitting .238 at the time of his injury.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxTuesday 5/19, 10:10 AM CT
DeWayne Wise continues to rehab from his separated right shoulder, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View: He was hitting in the batting cage prior to Monday's game against Toronto, but it is uncertain when Wise will be ready to start a minor league rehab assignment. He is hoping he will be able to begin in 7-10 days. He noted that everything has healed, but the team is just trying to find a comfort zone for him to play.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 5/8, 9:33 AM CT
DeWayne Wise is progressing in his recovery from a separated right shoulder but is still dealing with some tightness, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He is fielding fly balls in the outfield and hitting in the batting cage as part of his rehab work.

Our View: Wise won't likely be ready to start a rehab assignment for another three weeks, which means he would not return to the Sox until at least early June.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxWednesday 4/29, 1:00 PM CT
Outfielder DeWayne Wise is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a separated right shoulder. He suffered the injury on April 13 and was slated to miss four-to-six weeks. "I should be able to take batting practice or maybe sometime during the (next) homestand," Wise informs the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: It sounds like Wise could be back by mid-May. He will have no problem taking his roster spot back from Jerry Owens, but Brian Anderson will have another couple weeks to state his case for regular time. Also, Wise is unlikely to return to the top of the batting order.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxMonday 4/13, 4:18 PM CT
The Chicago Tribune reports that DeWayne Wise will be out from four to six weeks due to a separated shoulder. Jerry Owens will be recalled to replace him in center field, although Brian Anderson will likely see the majority of starts.

DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxMonday 4/13, 3:02 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, DeWayne Wise suffered a separated shoulder when forced to exit today's game against the Tigers, according to the live broadcast on Comcast Chicago.

Our View: It is yet to be determined how much time Wise will need to miss. Brian Anderson will be the top candidate to replace him in center field. The club could also recall speed demon Jerry Owens from the minors.

DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxWednesday 4/8, 8:20 PM CT
Despite striking out three times and failing to lay down an eighth inning bunt on two attempts, Ozzie Guillen will continue to bat DeWayne Wise at leadoff, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Wise has been a below average hitter throughout his career, and he won't stay at the top of the order if he continues to perform like this. The White Sox don't have much speed on their team, but Chris Getz or Alexei Ramirez could be other options.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxMonday 3/30, 12:35 PM CT
DeWayne Wise is expected to start in center field and handle the leadoff role after the Sox waived Jerry Owens today, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View: Wise may not hit for a high average, but he has a nice combination of speed and power, and is worth targeting as a flier for AL-only leagues.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 12/12, 1:56 PM CT
Dewayne Wise has signed with the White Sox, according to MLB.com. He agreed to a one-year deal for $550,000.

Our View: Chicago avoided arbitration by signing the outfielder. Wise displayed some speed and power last season as he hit six homers with nine stolen bases over 57 games with the Sox.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxSunday 10/5, 7:38 PM CT
Dewayne Wise had a hit, scored a run, stole a base and knocked in two batters in the White Sox 5-3 victory in Game 3.

Our View: Wise has been a key member of what the Sox are trying to do in the absence of slugger Carlos Quentin as he has infused the lineup with some speed, a little bit of defense, and the ability to play "small ball" to help the club score runs.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 10/3, 4:49 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Dewayne Wise, who homered in Game 1 of the ALDS, will not be in the starting lineup for Game 2 on Friday. Ozzie Guillen is going to a right-handed heavy lineup with lefty Scott Kazmir on the mound. Nick Swisher takes Wise's spot in the outfield.

Our View: Wise could be inserted later in the game, likely as a defensive replacement. Expect to see this platoon as long as the White Sox are in the playoffs.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxThursday 10/2, 5:10 PM CT
Dewayne Wise went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Tampa Bay in Game 1 of the ALDS at Tropicana Field.

DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxSunday 9/21, 4:17 PM CT
Dewayne Wise had a hit, scored a run and stole his seventh base of the season in the White Sox 3-0 victory over the Royals.

Our View: Wise continues a fairly amazing late season run for the Sox with four home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored over his past seven appearances. If you need a little juice in an AL-only league, check the waiver-wire for his name.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 9/19, 10:25 PM CT
Dewayne Wise hit two home runs in Kansas City on Friday night. They were both solo shots and give him four home runs in his last five games.

DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxMonday 9/15, 9:31 PM CT
For the second straight game Dewayne Wise hit a home run, Monday's homer was his fourth on the year.

Our View: Wise is on a little bit of a streak but he has no fantasy value at this time.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxSunday 9/14, 10:41 PM CT
Dewayne Wise hit a pinch-hit grand-slam off of Kyle Farnsworth in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the White Sox to an 11-7 victory, that after the blew a 7-0 lead.

Our View: Wise has hit only 12 home runs in 419 career AB, and none was bigger than this one for the career long backup.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxFriday 9/5, 2:50 PM CT
Dewayne Wise has been activated from the DL, according to the AP. The 30-year-old hurler had been sidelined since August 21 with a strained left adductor.

Our View: Wise fared well with a .288 average (and two homers) over 66 at-bats with the Sox this season and should see action with Carlos Quentin potentially lost for the rest of the season due to a broken wrist. Wise also notced six stolen bases, and is worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues.

Dewayne Wise continues to start against righties with Paul Konerko out of the lineup. He played another big part in a 4-3 victory over Rich Harden and the A's on Sunday. He was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Our View: Wise is 13-for-32 when starting against righties. He has earned praise from manager Ozzie Guillen and may likely stay in the bigs even after Paul Konerko returns.

Dewayne Wise, who was promoted from Triple-A Charlotte in mid-June is starting in center field for the White Sox today when the Cubs invade U.S. Cellular Field. Wise is hitting ninth in the batting order.

Our View: Wise went 0-for-6 in his previous stint with Chicago this season. He could see some action in the outfield if Nick Swisher covers first base for Konerko, but the 30-year old does not merit fantasy consideration.
DeWayne Wise, CF, Chicago White SoxSaturday 5/31, 5:50 PM CT

The White Sox purchased DeWayne Wise's contract from Triple-A Charlotte Friday. He was hitting .338 with eight homers, 18 RBIs, 31 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 43 games with Charlotte.
