The Mariners sent Jim Parque to the minors on Tuesday after allowing nine earned runs in his last two outings, according to the AP. "In his first outing, he was pretty sharp and his command was good," Mariners manager Mike Hargrove said. "Each progressive outing, he was less sharp and more fuzzy. He wasn't repeating his delivery." Parque is trying to make it back to the majors for the first time since 2003.

Jim Parque signed a minor league contract with the Mariners on Friday, according to the Seattle Times. He hasn't pitched since 2004 because of shoulder problems.
