Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 9/23, 5:02 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez is out of tonight's lineup at Cleveland, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: Ordonez is not nursing an injury, and skipper Jim Leyland just wants to give him a night off. Clete Thomas will roam in right field in his absence.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 9/13, 3:05 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez had three hits on Sunday as the Tigers beat the Blue Jays 7-2. Ordonez was 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the win.

Our View: Maggs had a solid swing today, and he helped the Tigers take down the Jays. He is hitting the ball well in the the last month or so, and he should continue to see time in the lineup if he keeps hitting.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersThursday 9/10, 4:54 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-4 in the Tigers' 7-4 loss to the Royals on Thursday. All three hits were singles.

Our View: After seeing his playing time cut due to a miserable start to the season, Mag-Pipes has turned it on lately. He hit .348 in August and has followed up nicely in September with an even .500 average. More games like this could lead to more playing time for the veteran outfielder.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 9/2, 9:13 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez helped lead the Tigers in tonight's 4-2 win over the Indians at Comerica Park, as he went 3-for-4 with an RBI. All three of his knocks were singles.

Our View: Ordonez raised his batting average to .281. He continues to hit well after batting .348 in August.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 8/29, 6:16 PM CT
The beleaguered Magglio Ordonez drove in the Tigers' only run with an eighth inning single on Saturday, as Detroit lost 3-1 to the Rays at home.

Our View: Mags still has just seven home runs in 2009, and if you still own him outside of an AL-only league, you are only hurting yourself.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 8/16, 4:36 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez hit his seventh home run in the Tigers' 3-2 loss to the Royals on Sunday. He was 1-for-4 on the day.

Our View: Mag-pipes just can't seem to get it going this season. He's hitting over .350 in August, but is still only hitting .271 on the year. A far cry from his .310 career average.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 8/4, 9:46 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and an RBI in tonight's 8-2 loss to Baltimore at Comerica Park.

Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 7/21, 9:20 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez led the Tigers offensively in tonight's 9-7 win over Seattle at Comerica Park, as he went 1-for-3 with a grand slam off Garrett Olson.

Our View: Ordonez hit his fifth homer and first grand slam of the season. He also set a season-high for 2009 with four RBI in a game. He was in need of a strong showing as he was only batting .222 in July heading into tonight's battle.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/8, 5:30 PM CT
According to the Detroit News, the Tigers have announced that slumping slugger Magglio Ordonez will only play against left-handed pitchers.

Our View: So Mag-Pipes has been reduced to a platoon player. He still needs 166 plate appearances for his $18 million contract option to kick in next season, and at this rate it doesn't look like he'll get it. It's a crafty move by the Tigers, and you go to the bank knowing Scott Boras won't be happy about it. Ordonez is hitting .260 with 4 homers and 28 RBI this season.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 7/4, 6:29 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez homered for only the second time since April 27 on Saturday, and drove in all three Tigers runs in a 4-3 losing effort in Minnesota.

Our View: Magglio was benched again on Friday, and maybe this time it actually inspired him. He still has a long way to go toward being declared out of his horrific power slump, but Saturday was a good start.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersFriday 7/3, 8:05 PM CT
According to MLBlogs.com, Magglio Ordonez is on the bench for Friday's game against the Twins.

Our View: Ordonez is in the midst of a 2-for-20 slump, in the midst of a miserable season at the plate. The Twins sent Kevin Slowey to the mound and left-handers crush his pitches, so Manager Jim Leyland stacked the lineup with lefties and kept the right-handed hitting Ordonez on the bench.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/27, 3:57 PM CT
According to Jason Beck's twitter account, Magglio Ordonez is out of the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Astros.

Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/23, 3:22 PM CT
The Detroit News is reporting that Tigers' outfielder Magglio Ordonez is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs after being benched for four games. Ordonez will hit seventh in the order and play right field.

Our View: There had been some speculation that Ordonez would remain out tonight, but manager Jim Leyland decided to give him the go. We will now see if the benching allowed Mags to clear his head, or if it just further frustrated him.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 6/22, 11:13 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez may sit out another game Tuesday against the Cubs, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Skipper Jim Leyland is thinking about returning Ordonez to the starting lineup Tuesday, but may continue to hold him out against Cubs' ace hurler Carlos Zambrano. Ordonez has not been hitting up to expectations, and Leyland sent him to the bench to get away and clear his head a bit. Stay tuned for updates regarding his status.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 6/21, 7:39 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez may draw back into the Tigers' lineup Tuesday when they start a series with the Cubs, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Ordonez has been benched to get away and clear his head. He spent the last several days taking batting practice with hitting coach Lloyd McClendon. Ordonez would have a tough assignment against Cubs' ace Carlos Zambrano if he returns to the starting lineup Tuesday.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersThursday 6/18, 6:11 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez will ride the pine indefinitely, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Ordonez has not been hitting up to expectations with a .273 batting average and only two homers over 57 games, and skipper Jim Leyland is benching him to clear his head. It is uncertain when he may return to the starting lineup, and Ordonez should be held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersFriday 6/5, 9:06 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-4 and recorded the Tigers' lone RBI in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Angels at Comerica Park. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Ordonez ended an eight-game skid without an RBI. He has a hit in three of his last four games though, and hit .315 in May.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersFriday 5/29, 9:23 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez was 3-for-4 in the Tigers' 7-2 loss to the Orioles on Friday.

Our View: Magg-pipes has been disappointing this season, with just two homers and 19 RBI, but has been putting together a nice little streak as of late. Including Friday's game he has hit in 15 straight games and has his average up to .275.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 5/23, 11:35 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez returned to Detroit's lineup for the first time of the week on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with a walk, a run and his first stolen base of the season.

Our View: Ordonez had spent the previous five days out due to personal matters. He remains a steady yet unspectacular option in the outfield.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersFriday 5/22, 1:22 PM CT
According to the Miami Herald, the Tigers have activated Magglio Ordonez from the bereavement list. Ordonez missed last week while tending to his wife, who underwent surgery.

Our View: Hopefully the break recharged Magglio's batteries, because he has not been good this season. Ordonez owners should watch him carefully over the next few weeks to see if he starts to improve at the plate.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 5/16, 5:32 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Magglio Ordonez will miss next week's series against the Rangers due to a personal matter. Ordonez will play Saturday and Sunday and will then be gone until either Thursday or Friday.

Our View: Ordonez was finally starting to hit the ball, so this seems to be bad timing. Adjust your lineups for next week, but play him for the next two days until he leaves.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersThursday 5/14, 3:26 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 6-5 loss at Minnesota. His hit was a single.

Our View: Ordonez extended his hitting streak to five games, but collected his first RBI over the span today.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 5/13, 5:16 PM CT
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that struggling outfielder Magglio Ordonez has clauses in his contract that guarantee options on the next two years of his contract if he plays a specfic number of games.

Our View: With his struggles so far this season and his age, the Tigers may have a decision to make on Ordonez's status. If Ordonez doesn't start hitting, there may be a possibility that the Tigers would release him to avoid being on the hook for his contract next season. Watch closely how Maggs plays over the next few weeks.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 5/10, 10:21 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez was back in the lineup on Sunday as the Tigers defeated the Indians 5-3. The struggling outfielder hit sixth in the lineup and finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.

Our View: Ordonez was a healthy scratch in Saturday's win. He had just one hit in his last 14 at bats prior to today's game. We expect him to bring the average up but his power has really been lacking. Today was his first double and just his third extra base hit.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 5/9, 5:05 PM CT
According to Cleveland.com, Magglio Ordonez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game. He is a healthy scratch.

Our View: The Tigers are loading up on lefties to face Fausto Carmona tonight, and Mag-Pipes' .229 average and right-handedness made him the odd man out. He should be back in on Sunday.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 5/6, 7:48 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez is hitting just .232 with two home runs and 12 RBI through 99 ABs and no one quite seems to know why he is struggling other than he is dealing with a few off field issues according to manager Jim Leyland, according to the Tigers Official Website.

Our View: The club has tried using Orodonez at DH hoping it will allow him to focus solely on hitting, and it has somewhat as he is 5-for-17 in that role (.294). Too talented to fall off the map, expect Ordonez to rebound in short order.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 4/13, 4:28 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez was 1-for-2 with three walks, two runs scored, and a strike out as the Tigers fell to the White Sox 10-6 on Monday.

Our View: Maggs has yet to record an extra base hit through eight games. His power should come around soon.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 3/14, 10:44 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Venezuela's 3-1 win over the Netherlands on Saturday. He is hitting a mere .188 in the WBC.

Our View: Mags should be treating 2009 as a walk year as his 2010 option would pay him $18 million. He is not having a good tournament by any means, but he should remain better than a .300 hitter in the upcoming season.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 11/15, 2:46 PM CT
The Tigers are not actively shopping star outfielder Magglio Ordonez, according to MLB.com. GM Dave Dombrowski simply stated, "We're not looking to trade Magglio Ordonez."

Our View: Ordonez is not viewed as untouchable by the Tigers, however. Dombrowski has not made a single call to try and deal Ordonez, but would listen to offers if proposed. The Tigers' top needs are at shortstop, catcher, and closer.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 11/8, 1:47 PM CT
The Los Angeles Angels are interested in acquiring the services of Detroit slugger Magglio Ordonez, according to MLB.com.

Our View: A lot of things would have to happen for this to occur, and it's unknown if L.A. is one of the 10 places his partial no-trade clause doesn't cover.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 11/5, 9:28 AM CT
Agent Scott Boras commented that Magglio Ordonez is not likely to be dealt by the Tigers, according to the Detroit Free Press. Boras said, "Magglio's a great, extraordinary hitter, and everybody wants him. It would be a big loss and a very difficult guy to replace. I think it's very unlikely that Magglio would be moved. The fact is he has control over where he goes, for the most part."

Our View: Ordonez wants to remain in Detroit, and can block a trade to all but 10 teams.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 11/4, 2:51 PM CT
The Tigers would be interested in trading Magglio Ordonez if they could use him to fill multiple holes, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: The Tigers' biggest needs are at catcher and shortstop, but their pitching staff could use help as well.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 9/28, 5:41 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez extended the Sunday's game with the Rays to extra innings with a two-run home run in the ninth. He was 2-for-5 in the Tigers' last game of a thoroughly disappointing season.

Our View: In 2007, Ordonez hit .363, drove in 139 runs, and scored 117 times. In 2008, he hit just .317 with 101 RBI and 71 runs scored. Although his stat line does not look bad, his season has to be considered a disappointment.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 9/24, 12:01 AM CT
The Detroit Tigers have seen more than three million fans come through the gates, and they should break their single season attendance record by the end of the year, according to Tigers.com.

Our View: That's nice for Detroit, but unless they improve dramatically, the record won't be broken two years in a row.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 9/22, 10:02 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 0-for-3 on Monday night with a single RBI as his average fell to .321.

Our View: Ordonez has fallen .009 behind Joe Mauer in the race for the AL batting title as he has just two hits in his last 14 AB (.143). He is two RBI from his seventh 100-RBI campaign.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 9/14, 8:31 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez pushed his average up to .322 with a 2-for-4 effort that included his 20th home run of the year. He also knocked in two runs to reach 90 RBI.

Our View: In each of the last eight seasons in which he has accrued 500 AB, Ordonez has produced at least 20 home runs and 90 RBI. Still, after averaging 122 RBI the past two season in Detroit, his RBI total is a bit below where most expected it to be.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 9/14, 8:06 AM CT
Ordonez could be a candidate to be traded in the off-season, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Our View: Ordonez has at least one year at $18 million left on his contract, so moving him would be very tough. Don't bet on it.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 9/8, 11:40 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and four runs scored in the 14-8 victory over the A's on Monday night.

Our View: Ordonez has been great down the stretch and should be in your starting lineup. Ordonez now has a 13-game hitting streak.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 9/6, 6:11 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez missed the cycle by a mere single on Saturday against the Twins. His eighth inning home run put the Tigers on top for good. He finished 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Our View: Ordonez now has a 10-game hitting streak indicating what could be a strong finish to his season. His triple was just his second of the year.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 9/1, 4:26 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez had three hits and three RBI for the Tigers in their 13-9 victory over the Yankees.

Our View: While hit overall numbers (.313-16-81) don't compare to what he did last season (.363-28-139), he is on pace to nearly match his totals from 2006 (.298-24-104). Hopefully you didn't overpay for his services after his career season. If you didn't you have to be satisfied with his efforts this year.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 9/1, 10:18 AM CT
Magglio Ordonez doesn't just hit Yankees starter Sidney Ponson well, he obliterates him. Which is good news for Ordonez, as he and the Tigers face off against Ponson and the Yankees on Monday. For his career, Ordonez is hitting .500 (16-for-32) with .529 on-base percentage off the hefty right-hander.

Our View: Ordonez hit just .278 with two home runs in August, so hitting off of Ponson may be exactly what he needs to propel him to a great September.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/27, 9:59 PM CT
Detroit slugger Magglio Ordonez enjoyed a strong night in the batter's box despite the 9-7 loss to Cleveland. Ordonez went 2-for-5 at the plate with his 26th double and 16th home run of the season, carding three RBIs and one runs scored for the effort.

Our View: Ordonez isn't hitting a ton of long balls (three homers this month), but he's driving in runs, touting 18 RBIs through August.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/13, 11:57 AM CT
The Tigers may consider trading Magglio Ordonez this offseason in order to trim their payroll, the Detroit News reports. If Ordonez stays healthy in 2009, he is likely to kick in two $15 million options for 2010 and 2011.

Our View: Ordonez is one of the AL's better hitters, and we'd think the big-market clubs would be interested. There would undoubtedly be some worries about him slowing down by 2011 (when he'll be 37), but do you really think that will concern the Mets or Yankees?
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 8/10, 3:02 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez led the Tigers in Sunday's 6-1 win over Oakland, as he went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: He extended his hitting streak to nine games, with three multi-hit efforts over the span.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersThursday 8/7, 6:06 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez has been hitting the ball very well lately, but he does not have a very good match-up tonight against White Sox hurler Javier Vazquez. Ordonez is just 6-for-29 (.209) and has never drawn a walk against the righthander. He only has one extra base hit off Vazquez, a double, and his slugging percentage is a tiny .241.

Our View: Ordonez probably should not come out of fantasy lineups, just don't expect too much from the slugger tonight.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/30, 12:14 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez, Ivan Rodriguez, Placido Polanco, and Gary Sheffield are all expected to get Thursday's day game off, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Adjust your lineups accordingly.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersFriday 7/25, 9:17 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-4 with a double, scored a run and knocked one in as the Tigers blew a late lead and lost to the Twins.

Our View: Ordonez now has hits in six of his last seven games, and is hitting .438 in July.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/23, 12:44 AM CT
The man affectionately known as Mags to teammates led the way on the field this evening, pushing his Tigers to a dominating 7-1 win over the Royals. Outfielder Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-5 at the dish, driving in two runs along the way.

Our View: Mags stranded three runners on base, not that they were needed. He now carries a record of 11-for-28 (.393) over six games since returning from injury with seven RBIs.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 7/20, 3:45 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Orioles.

Our View: He collected his 13th homer of the season, and snapped an eight-game drought.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersThursday 7/17, 12:23 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez has been activated from the DL following his bout with a pulled oblique, according to MLive.com. The club optioned Clete Thomas to Triple-A Toledo to make room on the roster.

Our View: He should return to your lineups for the new fantasy week. He had a seven-game hitting streak prior to going on the shelf.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/16, 11:14 AM CT
Magglio Ordonez will be activated from the DL before Thursday's game against the Orioles, according to SportsTicker. Mags has been on the DL since June 29 with a pulled oblique. Clete Thomas was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to clear a roster spot.

Our View: Oblique injuries tend to linger, so hopefully Ordonez doesn't get re-injured.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 7/15, 8:26 AM CT
Magglio Ordonez, who is recovering from a pulled right oblique, went 1-for-4 in Monday's rehab game with Single-A, according to MLive.com.

Our View: He did not have any issues following the game, and he could return to the Tigers right after the All-Star break.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 7/13, 12:05 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez will play a game in Single-A on Monday, and if all goes well, he will be activated on Thursday, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Ordonez provides very good offensive numbers for fantasy owners, who should be thrilled to get him back.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 7/8, 10:46 PM CT
The AP reports that Magglio Ordonez said his pulled oblique is improving and expects to be OK to play when eligible to be activated from the DL next week.

Our View: If Pudge, Cabrera and Granderson maintain their recent improvements, the Tigers offense should explode in the second half.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 6/29, 10:39 PM CT
Outfielder Magglio Ordonez spoke more about the injury to his right oblique muscle. He went on the DL on Sunday. "It will just take treatment and rest," Ordonez informs the MLive.com. "It will be maybe two weeks. I'll be back when I am ready." He suffered the injury when chasing a foul ball on Saturday, and he left the game two innings later. Ordonez explains the similar injuries to teammates Gary Sheffield and Brandon Inge helped him to realize that he needed to be smart about the ailment. Clete Thomas is expected to see a lot of time while Ordonez is out.

Our View: Like the Tigers, fantasy owners can't replace Magglio. However, it's interesting to know that Thomas, not Matt Joyce, is expected to get most of the action.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 6/29, 12:00 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez has been placed on the 15-day DL due to a pulled right oblique muscle, according to the AP. Matt Joyce has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo to fill the open spot on the roster.

Our View: The Tigers have won 16 of their last 20 games, but will likely slow down following the loss of Ordonez, who was hitting .307 with 12 homers and 50 RBI over 80 games. Detroit has finally reached the .500 mark at 40-40 as well.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/28, 8:45 PM CT
Updating and earlier report, Tigers right fielder Magglio Ordonez came out of Saturday night's game with the Colorado Rockies after fielding a double off the wall by Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in the third inning, this according to MLive.com. The All Star suffered a spasm in his right oblique.

Our View: He will be further evaluated Sunday. Ordonez is the only Tiger to start all 80 games this season and isn't expected to play on Sunday regardless of his availability.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/28, 6:51 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez left Saturday night's game against the Rockies in the top of the 4th inning after sustaining an apparent back injury.

Our View: There was no definitive information on the seriousness of the injury. We will update the Detroit slugger when more news is available.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 6/22, 8:18 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez took Randy Wolf deep for his 12th home run of the year as he went 2-for-5 with three RBI for the Tigers.

Our View: Though he won't be sniffing his .363 average of a year ago, that doesn't mean that Ordonez has been a disappointment given that he is on pace for a third straight season of 24 home runs and 100 RBI.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSunday 6/1, 7:53 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs to help the Tigers start a four-run ninth inning as Detroit outlasted Seattle, 7-5 on Sunday.

Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersTuesday 5/27, 1:25 PM CT
Detroit outfielder Magglio Ordonez and Boston pitcher Jon Lester share AL Player of the Week honors, according to MLB.com. Ordonez hit .478 (11-23) with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBI, and posted a 1.043 slugging percentage along with a .500 on-base percentage. On May 24, he went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double, six RBI, four runs scored and a walk against the Twins. On Monday, May 19, Lester became the 18th pitcher in Red Sox history to throw a no-hitter, which came against the Royals at Fenway Park. The lefty allowed two walks and struck out nine batters. Overall last week, he went 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 14.0 innings pitched.

Our View: Ordonez is hitting .323 overall with nine homers and 35 RBI over 51 games, with 31 runs scored. The Tigers have been underperforming offensively, but Ordonez has taken care of business, evidenced by his Player of the Week honor.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersSaturday 5/24, 9:23 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez had a monster game Saturday in Detroit's 19-3 pounding of the Twins. The outfielder was 3-for-3 with a double, two homers, four runs scored and six RBI.

Our View: The Tigers may be underperforming, but it's not because of Magglio. He's put together two good months to start off the season.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersMonday 5/19, 12:00 PM CT
Tigers' outfielder Magglio Ordonez was charged with an error in the sixth inning of Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, his first error since April 6 of last year, a stretch of 180 games.

Our View: Occurring on a double that Ordonez was running to his left to cut off, the mistake ended the longest errorless streak for a Tigers outfielder since Al Kaline's 242 consecutive games from April 15, 1970 to July 2, 1972.
Magglio Ordonez, RF, Detroit TigersThursday 5/15, 5:53 PM CT
Magglio Ordonez hit two doubles on Thursday to up his average to .310 on the year for the Tigers. Ordonez also knocked in his 26th run of the season.
