Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsSaturday 7/11, 9:55 AM CT
Dennys Reyes has left the team to visit a "gravely" ill relative in Mexico, but cannot be added to the bereavement list because the relative is not an immediate family member, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: This leaves Trever Miller as the only left-hander in the Cards bullpen for their important series at Wrigley Field this weekend. Our thoughts our with Dennys Reyes and his family.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsSaturday 4/18, 6:58 PM CT
Dennys Reyes, one of the many "closers" on the Cardinals this season, quickly became the goat as he surrendered a walk-off two-run blast to Aramis Ramirez with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning. The Cubs won the game 7-5.

Our View: Bad day to be Dennys Reyes. He walked the lead off man and then gift-wrapped Ramirez's bomb to break the hearts of Cardinal Nation. If he's not the man getting the final out for St. Louis, he has no real fantasy value.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsThursday 4/9, 4:25 PM CT
Dennys Reyes picked up the save for the Cardinals on Thursday, retiring the Pirates in order in the 2-1 win.

Our View: The reason Tony La Russa called upon Reyes was because Pittsburgh had two lefties and a switch hitter due up. You can't count on him for many (if any) more save opportunities, but this does show that the Cards could use the committee approach in the ninth this year.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsWednesday 3/25, 8:01 PM CT
Dennys Reyes was impressive for the Cardinals in his debut with the club, pitching a scoreless inning of relief on Wednesday.

Our View: After pitching for Team Mexico in the WBC, Reyes joined the Cardinals and will be the main left hander out of the pen. His fantasy value will be limited due to his specialist role but he is a solid option for the 'Birds this season in relief.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsThursday 3/19, 8:15 AM CT
Dennys Reyes is being delayed in his arrival to the Cardinals by a personal issue, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: He is expected to report Sunday, and still has to finalize his work visa. He had been pitching for Team Mexico in the WBC. Reyes should serve as a solid lefty specialist for the Cardinals' pen in 2009, but his fantasy value will be limited.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsThursday 3/5, 5:01 PM CT
Updating a previous report, Dennys Reyes has signed a two-year deal with the Cardinals worth approximately $3 million, according to the Post Dispatch. He will pitch for Mexico in the WBC and should be available to join the Cardinals in 2-3 weeks.

Our View: Again, this is great news for the Cardinals who desperately needed help on the left side of their bullpen. Reyes led all lefthanded relievers in the majors the last three years with a 2.14 ERA.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsThursday 3/5, 3:31 PM CT
ESPN.com reports that Dennys Reyes agreed to a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. The Cardinals had been shopping for left-handed relief help to complement their earlier signing of Trevor Miller. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View: This is a quality signing for the Cardinals, who now have two competent lefties in their pen. Reyes should get a decent amount of work as he'll most likely pitch to righties as well. While an important move for St. Louis, Reyes has little fantasy value.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsWednesday 3/4, 12:10 PM CT
The Cardinals could be interested in Dennys Reyes, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The Cards are looking to shore up the left side of their bullpen and seem to think Reyes would be a nice fit.

Our View: Reyes could be a nice addition to the Cardinals' bullpen, but even if this move comes to fruition, Reyes has little fantasy value.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsThursday 2/19, 8:28 AM CT
Twins' manager Ron Gardenhire commented that he would not mind bringing back Dennys Reyes, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: The Twins could consider retaining the lefty reliever if his price tag drops, but GM Bill Smith said there have not been any talks with Reyes' agent as of yet.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsFriday 2/6, 12:06 PM CT
The Phillies remain in the market for a reliever, according to Jayson Stark of ESPN.

Our View: Their options include Joe Borowski, Rudy Seanez, Will Ohman, Joe Beimel, Dennys Reyes, and Randy Flores. The club would like to ink one to a one-year deal. They are also still looking for a right-handed bat for the bench.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsFriday 1/9, 9:19 AM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports notes Oakland as a potential landing spot for lefty reliever Dennys Reyes.

Our View: The Dodgers have made Reyes an offer, and the Tigers and Rangers are among other clubs in the market for a lefty for their bullpen.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsWednesday 1/7, 12:48 PM CT
The Dodgers made an offer to reliever Dennys Reyes, according to ESPN.

Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsMonday 12/8, 1:06 AM CT
The Star Tribune reports that reliever Dennys Reyes has declined the Twins' offer of arbitration.

Our View: The reliever will likely be able to find a multi-year deal in the open market as he put together a 3-0 record with a 2.33 ERA last season.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsMonday 12/1, 6:21 PM CT
The Twins offered arbitration to free agent reliever Dennys Reyes today, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View: Now that the Twins have offered Reyes arbitration it will assure them of a supplemental-round pick in next June’s amateur draft if he signs with another team.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsFriday 6/27, 8:25 PM CT
Dennys Reyes' MRI revealed that he has a strained right knee, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Manager Ron Gardenhire was unsure whether Reyes would be available for the series opener against the Brewers tonight. Without Reyes, Craig Breslow would be the only lefty in the Twins' bullpen.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsTuesday 8/28, 11:08 AM CT
An MRI on Dennys Reyes' elbow howed no structural damage. The lefty was given a cortisone shot and will rest the elbow for a few days before trying to throw, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsTuesday 6/12, 9:21 PM CT
Dennys Reyes, who is out with an inflamed left shoulder, threw a 35-pitch simulated game Tuesday, according to the AP. He'll be re-evaluated Wednesday, but said he didn't think he'd need a rehab assignment in the minors since he's in a short relief role. Manager Ron Gardenhire said if all goes well and there is no soreness on Wednesday, Reyes could be activated.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsWednesday 6/6, 8:37 AM CT
Injured reliever Dennys Reyes plans to throw in the bullpen over the weekend, but the Twins still don’t have a timetable for his return to action, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Reyes is eligible to come off the disabled list on Tuesday, but his rehabilitation from an inflamed shoulder has gone slowly so far.
Dennys Reyes, P, St. Louis CardinalsThursday 5/24, 8:35 PM CT
The Twins placed Dennys Reyes on the disabled list on Thursday, a move made retroactive to Monday. Reyes is dealing with inflammation in his throwing shoulder. The club is expected to recall Alejandro Machado on Friday to replace the injured Reyes. This shouldn't have much of an effect in fantasy terms, since Reyes had a 6.57 ERA and 2.19 WHIP on the season.
