Jorge Velandia, SS, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 8/31, 7:48 PM CT
The Rays acquired minor league infielder Jorge Velandia from the Indians on Sunday in exchange for cash, the AP reports. Velandia was with the Rays in 2007, and he hit .320 during a brief stint in the majors.

Our View: It beats being traded for baseball bats, right? Velandia has zero fantasy value.

Jorge Velandia has been outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The Indians are expected to recall infielder Adrubal Cabrera as the corresponding move, prior to Friday's game against Seattle.

Our View: Velandia went 3-for-15 (.200) with no homers or RBI over his brief stint with Cleveland, and held no fantasy value.

Jorge Velandia has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, according to the AP. Josh Barfield has been placed on the 15-day DL, and Velandia covers his spot on the Indians' roster.

Our View: Velandia, who was previously with the Blue Jays in 2008, failed to register a hit over seven brief at-bats, with two strikeouts. He holds little fantasy value with Cleveland for this season.

The Blue Jays optioned Jorge Velandia to Triple-A Syracuse after Thursday's game. The move was made to make room for David Purcey, who is making a spot start Friday.

Our View: Velandia was called up to provide depth with both David Eckstein and John McDonald out, but he failed to pick up a hit in seven at-bats.
