Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 10/4, 1:20 PM CT
According to FoxSports.com, Reds' pitcher Bronson Arroyo has decided against having surgery on his wrist this offseason. Arroyo has suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome for several years.

Our View: Arroyo has decided to be a bit more conservative in trying to get his wrist healed up, so surgery is not the answer. He has been pitching awfully well over the last few months, so apparently the injury isn't all that bad.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 10/1, 11:24 AM CT
MLBlogs.com is reporting that Reds' starter Bronson Arroyo responded to accusations from the Cardinals that he used pine tar on his cap to help him grip the ball during Wednesday's start. "I do this and I have 8,000 twitches," Arroyo said. "What do you want me to do about it? That's how I pitch," he said.

Our View: There has been some pretty interesting back-and-forth between the two teams in the last 12 hours, so this afternoon's game could be interesting. Both sides have taken shots at the other, so don't be shocked if there are some fireworks today.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 9/30, 8:53 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo pitched 8.1 dominating innings of one-run ball on Wednesday night, improving to 15-13, as Cincinnati beat the Cardinals 6-1 at home.

Our View: He allowed just four hits. For the season, Arroyo finishes with a 3.84 ERA, 220.1 innings pitched, three complete games and 127 strikeouts.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 9/24, 2:22 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo pitched seven sharp innings of one-run ball on Thursday, as the Reds beat the Pirates 4-1 in Pittsburgh.

Our View: The game was Arroyo's 12th quality start in a row. The Yankees are probably thinking he sure would have been nice as a fifth starter if they hadn't passed on him at the trading deadline, and then again in August.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 9/19, 10:41 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo pitched well on Saturday against the Marlins, but was handed his 13th loss of the season. He scattered six hits and a walk, allowing three runs over eight innings, but the Reds fell 3-2.

Our View: Arroyo has been a different pitcher altogether since the All Star break. The first half he was 9-8 with a 5.38 ERA, and since he's gone 4-5 with a 2.42 mark. Too bad he hasn't been rewarded for his turnaround.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 9/14, 9:01 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo only allowed one earned run on six hits over seven innings in Monday's 3-1 win over the Astros at the Great American Ballpark. He issued no walks and fired six strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo earned his team-leading 13th win, and is in the zone as he allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last seven starts.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 9/9, 10:43 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo delivered his ninth straight quality start on Wednesday night, allowing just two runs in seven innings, but took a no-decision, as the Reds blew it late and lost 4-3 in Denver.

Our View: After not getting traded to a contender before the July 31st non-waivers deadline, or after clearing waivers and being dealt in August, Arroyo is 3-4 with a 2.42 ERA in 11 starts since the All-Star break.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 9/4, 9:27 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo made it eight quality starts in a row on Friday as he led the Reds to a 3-1 win over the Braves. Arroyo went seven innings and allowed one run on six hit while walking three and striking out four.

Our View: Arroyo has lowered his ERA to 4.23 with his recent hot streak, and he has developed into a surprisingly reliable fantasy starter. There is always the chance that he replaces his quality run with a run of terrible starts, but he is worth rostering while he is hot.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 8/30, 4:31 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo looked good once again on Sunday, holding a talented Dodger lineup to just two runs on six hits and two walks over 7.1 innings. He fanned three but did not factor in the decision as the Reds fell 3-2 in 12 innings.

Our View: Arroyo has turned around his disappointing season by rattling off seven consecutive quality starts. He has lowered his ERA from 5.21 to 4.35 over that stretch and looks like a solid performer in any format right now.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 8/25, 11:40 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo put together another great effort on Tuesday, but it was spoiled by his bullpen. Arroyo went seven innings and allowed only one run on six hits while walking one and striking out four. The Reds ended up winning 8-6 in the 12th inning.

Our View: Arroyo has been simply excellent over the last month, and he remains a fantasy enigma this season. When he is on, he is really good, but when he struggles he can kill you. Ride him while he's hot, but be prepared for him to come down hard.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 8/19, 10:47 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was outstanding on Wednesday, but his offense wasn't as he was hit with the loss in the 1-0 game. Arroyo went eight innings and allowed the one run on nine hits while walking one and striking out five.

Our View: Tough luck on the loss for Arroyo tonight, as he allowed his first run in his last two games. He has been the poster boy for streakiness this season, but now would be a good time to jump on the Arroyo train while he is dealing.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 8/13, 8:26 PM CT
On the same day he created a stir by saying he used supplements not on Major League Baseball's approved list, Bronson Arroyo blew away the Nationals on Thursday night, allowing just four baserunners in a 7-0 complete game shutout.

Our View: Looks like he wasn't kidding when he said he didn't care what others thought about him. Maybe now he will also start drawing some serious attention from pitching starved clubs (he recently cleared waivers). The shutout was his second of the season and his third complete game.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 8/10, 4:15 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo has cleared trade waivers with the Reds, according to FOX Sports.

Our View: Arroyo is earning $9.5MM this season, which is the main reason he was not claimed by another team. He could garner interest down the stretch by teams looking for a veteran starter though, assuming the Reds will eat some of his salary.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 8/8, 6:23 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo had another quality outing on Saturday, but once again failed to get the win. He allowed three runs on seven hits over seven innings. He struck out two and did not walk a batter, but fell to the Giants 4-2.

Our View: Arroyo is now 10-11 with a 5.04 ERA, but has pitched batter lately. He had a 3.58 ERA for the month of July and has now notched back to back quality starts.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 8/2, 5:28 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo scraped together a quality start on Sunday, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks over seven innings. He did not factor in the decision though as the Reds fell to the Rockies in the 11th.

Our View: Fresh off his admission of using Andro, Arroyo tosses a quality start. Probably unrelated, but owners have to be looking for any positive correlations from the struggling hurler and owner of a 5.10 ERA.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 7/28, 9:49 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo put forth a solid effort on Tuesday, but he took the loss as the Reds fell to the Phillies 3-2. Arroyo went 6.1 innings and allowed three runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out six.

Our View: Arroyo was good tonight, but not good enough to get his team the win. He has 10 wins this season, which is very good, but he also has 10 losses, most of which haven't been pretty. His ERA is high at 5.17, and he is a highly risky fantasy play.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 7/27, 5:08 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, the Yankees and Reds are believed to be in serious talks regarding a deal involving Bronson Arroyo, according to MLB Fanhouse. One source claims that a deal will get done.

Our View: The 32-year-old vet is slated to earn around $4MM for the remainder of the season, plus $11MM in 2010 and a $2MM buyout or a $11MM club option in 2012. A trade to New York could depend on how much of Arroyo's salary Cincinnati is willing to eat.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 7/27, 4:17 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo is on the Dodgers' radar, according to MLB Fanhouse.

Our View: The Dodgers have Arroyo on their list in case they do not acquire Cliff Lee from Cleveland. The Reds would probably have to absorb some of Arroyo's salary in order to make a deal work.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 7/27, 12:04 PM CT
The Yankees could be interested in acquiring veteran pitcher Bronson Arroyo, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.

Our View: The Yankees fifth rotation spot is in flux. Arroyo hasn't been very good this season (10-9, 5.21 ERA), and is owed a ton of money going forward, but that's never stopped the Yankees before.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 7/22, 11:57 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo got touched up for five runs in 5.1 innings on Wednesday, as the Reds lost 6-2 in Los Angeles.

Our View: He did manage to strike out eight batters, though. He is now just 10-9 on the season, but usually gives the Reds a chance to win in his starts. Rumors have abounded that he could be on his way out, as well, so his numbers could improve in the second half if he gets traded to a more pitcher friendly ballpark.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 7/19, 8:28 AM CT
Veterans Bronson Arroyo and Aaron Harang could be traded before the trading deadline if the Reds continue to struggle, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Our View: The duo has combined to lose 18 games in 2009, but Harang still has a respectable 4.17 ERA, and Arroyo has thrown 16 straight scoreless innings. In a pitching thin market, either could probably bring back an impressive haul. Any potential trade would also likely improve their fantasy value, as Great American Ballpark is one of the worst pitching stadiums in the majors.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 7/17, 10:39 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo pushed his scoreless innings streak to 16 on Friday as the Reds beat the Brewers 4-0. Arroyo went seven innings and did not allow a run on five hits while walking two and striking out six. Arroyo is now 10-8 on the season.

Our View: Arroyo is extremely inconsistent, but when he is on he can pitch like he did tonight. It might be a good idea to jump on him now if he is available, but don't be shocked if he starts to struggle again at some point.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 7/10, 8:46 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was dominant in Friday's 3-0 win at the Mets, as he only surrendered four hits over nine shutout innings. He had no walks and fired five strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo now has a winning record at 9-8, and collected his second complete game and first shutout of the season. He was in need of a strong outing, as he was winless over his last three starts, and allowed five or more earned runs in each outing over the span.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 7/5, 3:44 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo struggled again on Sunday in the Reds' 10-1 loss to the Cardinals. Arroyo went five innings and allowed eight runs (five earned) on 11 hits while walking two and striking out two. He is now 8-8 on the year.

Our View: Arroyo began his struggles early today, as he gave up a two-run homer to the Cardinals' Colby Rasmus, the second hitter of the game. Arroyo has been bad as of late, and he is an inconsistent fantasy option at best. He can put together decent spurts, but overall he is a very average pitcher.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 6/30, 9:25 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was roughed up for six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Arizona at the Great American Ballpark. He had four walks and two strikeouts, and was tagged for two homers.

Our View: Arroyo have given up five or more earned runs in four of his last six starts, and should remain an erratic fantasy hurler.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 6/28, 1:55 PM CT
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bronson Arroyo is considering having offseason surgery to alleviate the pain from his carpal-tunnel syndrome.

Our View: The affliction hasn't affected him on the field, but he's bothered by the fact that he can't play the guitar in his hotel room after games. This is a personal issue and apparently the surgery won't affect his performance in 2010, so it's not even baseball related.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 6/24, 9:10 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was roughed up for seven runs (six earned) on eight hits over a mere 3.2 innings in Wednesday's 8-2 loss at Toronto. He issued three walks and two strikeouts, and was tagged for three homers.

Our View: Arroyo has been erratic this season, but still leads the Reds with eight wins. He is yet to lose in two straight games this season.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 6/23, 7:50 PM CT
Reds' GM Walt Jocketty is shooting down the rumor that Bronson Arroyo is on the trading block, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Jocketty said, "I have not talked to anyone about Bronson. I would say right now we are buyers. We are looking for a hitter. If we did something, it would probably be to bring in a hitter. Getting Joey (Votto) back is going to help."

Our View: It would not make sense to deal Arroyo, as he currently leads the Reds with eight wins and the club is only 3.5 games back in the NL Central.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 6/22, 8:44 AM CT
Reds starter Bronson Arroyo is rumored to be available, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: The Reds are said to want to dump payroll. Arroyo is making $9.5 million this season and is set to earn $11 million in 2010, with the Reds owning a $2 million buyout option on an $11 million option in 2011. Arroyo has pitched good, but not great, for the Reds in '09, going 8-5 with a 5.16 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 6/19, 9:33 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo only allowed two earned runs on two hits over 6.2 innings in Friday's 4-3 win over the White Sox at the Great American Ballpark. He issued four walks and racked up seven strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo pitched well and earned his team-leading eighth win of the season. He bounced back well from his last start, when he surrendered six runs in a loss at Kansas City.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 6/13, 9:46 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was roughed in Saturday's 7-4 loss at Kansas City, as he allowed six earned runs on 11 hits over five innings. He had two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo is winless over his last three starts, and allowed 12 earned runs over the span. He leads the Reds with seven wins, but looks to be an unstable fantasy option for his next trip to the hill.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 6/7, 5:51 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo allowed just one earned run on five hits and two walks over seven innings on Sunday. Unfortunately he didn't earn a victory as the game lasted 14-innings and the Reds eventually fell to the Cubs 6-3.

Our View: Arroyo has seven wins this season, but owns a 5.00 ERA. Aside from the win total, he's not much of fantasy starter. He's only struck out 39 hitters in 77.1 innings this season.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 6/2, 11:42 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was lit up for five earned runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 5-2 loss at St. Louis. He had two walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo had a two-game winning streak snapped, and allowed five or more earned runs for the fifth time this season. It is hard to believe he has seven wins.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 5/27, 8:39 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo tossed a complete game against the Astros on Wednesday and allowed just one run on five hits and a walk. He struck out three and improved to 7-3 on the year in the Reds' 6-1 win.

Our View: Arroyo has seven wins, but even after Wednesday's gem his ERA is a bloated 5.12. The Reds' big bats have padded his record this season, and while his seven wins may make him seem like a worthy fantasy starter, he can ruin your team's ERA. Tread with caution.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 5/22, 9:07 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo surrendered just one run in eight innings of work as the Reds beat the Indians 3-1 on Friday. He only struck out two batters, while scattering seven base runners.

Our View: After two terrible outings, Arroyo has rebounded well in his last two starts. If you can pick when to throw him, he can be a decent fantasy option. However, he is more than prone to the occasional blowout.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 5/11, 11:52 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo wasn't too sharp on Monday, giving up five runs off 10 hits, three of which were home runs, though he didn't issue any walks, struck out five and was able to earn a win against Arizona.

Our View: Regardless of the win, it'd still be best to avoid using Arroyo right now; his performance on Monday was nothing to write home about, and he'd given up nine runs in two of his previous three outings.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 5/6, 10:36 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo recorded only three outs while allowing seven hits, three walks and nine runs during the Reds 15-3 loss to the Brewers on Wednesday. He allowed two home runs, including a second inning grand slam to Ryan Braun.

Our View: Arroyo was lights out in eight shutout innings against the Pirates in his last outing. In the two starts surrounding that one he gave 18 earned runs. So far in 2009, it's been hit or miss for the $10 million starter. He has been very good on the road and terrible in Cincinnati.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 5/1, 9:18 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo threw a gem on Friday, going eight innings and not giving up a run. He only gave up four hits and he walked three while striking out four.

Our View: Arroyo has four wins on the season, but his ERA is sitting at 4.91. Regardless of what his season stats look like, he was nearly unhittable tonight. Arroyo is a risky fantasy option, but he can give you some wins if you can put up with the bad days.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 4/25, 3:34 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was battered by the Braves on Saturday to the tune of nine earned runs in just 5.2 innings. Not surprisingly, Arroyo picked up his first loss of the year.

Our View: Arroyo's ERA grew to 6.48 with this outing as he allowed two home runs. On the plus side, he did strikeout five after entering the game with a K/9 mark of just 4.19. Perhaps his preseason hand issues are still a concern.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 4/20, 10:29 PM CT
While not spectacular, Bronson Arroyo was still fine in a win over Houston on Monday, giving up three runs off nine hits and zero walks while striking out two in seven innings.

Our View: Arroyo improved to 3-0 on the season and while his first win came in a rough outing against the Mets, he's now looked very dependable in his last two. While he's by no means a fantasy stud, he is a fine spot-starter in mixed leagues.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 4/14, 11:02 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was much better in his second start of the season than he was in his first. He earned the win Tuesday as he spread out four hits and four walks, allowing just one run over 6.1 innings. He struck out three Brewers on the night.

Our View: Arroyo was good at getting out of jams on Tuesday night, but struggled with his control. When that happens he's usually headed for decrease in composure and an increase in ERA. Nice to seem him work out of it Tuesday, but he's flirting with disaster.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 4/9, 2:48 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo allowed five earned runs on eight hits over six innings in Thursday's 8-6 win over the Mets at the Great American Ballpark, with two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: It wasn't a solid outing for Arroyo, but his teammates provided enough offensive support for him to claim a win. He has been dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 4/6, 12:30 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo has been dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome, but is still expected to start Thursday's game against the Mets, according to Newsday.

Our View: Micah Owings was initially going to replace him, but Arroyo was able to throw a bullpen session today without any issues. He should be safe to employ in fantasy lineups for Thursday.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 3/30, 2:48 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo is being hindered by a carpal tunnel syndrome flareup, according to SLAM Sports. He said, "I do not know what it is from, man. I cannot write. I cannot do anything with my pointer finger and thumb without it being irritated. I had it back in 2004 in the playoffs (with Boston) pitching against the Yankees. I have had it for years."

Our View: Arroyo can pitch with the ailment, and it causes him more weakness than pain. Hopefully he will improve soon with the start of the regular season a week away. He has topped 200 innings pitched in each of his last four campaigns.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 3/29, 4:44 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo took one for the team on Sunday. In just four and two-thirds innings, he allowed an unfathomable 10 runs (three earned) on 14 hits.

Our View: Arroyo is now 0-3 this spring and has been downright awful. He reportedly had all kinds of trouble locating his breaking pitches, which doesn't bode well for his fantasy status considering his fastball is less than average.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 3/19, 10:05 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo allowed three hits, four walks, and three earned runs in the Reds 9-1 loss to the Red Sox on Thursday. He gave up two home runs while striking out four over five innings.

Our View: Arroyo's had a rough spring as he has allowed nine runs and five home runs over 15 innings. His tendency to give up the long ball will continue to haunt him and his fantasy owners during his home starts in 2009.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 3/9, 4:21 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo still isn't looking sharp for the Reds, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk in 3.1 innings on Monday. Both runs came on solo homers by Ryan Howard and Geoff Jenkins. Arroyo did manage to strikeout two batters.

Our View: Arroyo's ERA is over five so far this spring. He went 15-11 in 34 starts last season with a 4.77 ERA, but he'll probably get less run support this season with Adam Dunn's 40+ home runs moving to Arizona and now Washington.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 11/14, 3:22 PM CT
The Reds are reportedly researching if there is a market for pitcher Bronson Arroyo, and the Rangers may be interested, according to ESPN Insider.

Our View: There is belief he could be dealt to Texas in exchange for a catcher, which the Reds are in need of.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 9/26, 10:32 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was rocked for six earned runs on 13 hits over seven innings in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Cardinals, with two walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo won a career-high 15 games, but ends his season with losses in back-to-starts, allowing 11 earned runs over the span.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 9/21, 3:29 PM CT
Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo was hit for five earned runs on six hits in six innings and picked up his 11th loss of the year in the team's 8-1 loss to Milwaukee.

Our View: Arroyo had made six fantastic starts in a row, and did not give up more than two runs in any of them, so he was certainly due for a clunker.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 9/16, 9:52 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo continued his string of quality outings Tuesday, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out four over seven innings. He picked up his 15th win in Cincy's 7-2 win over the Cardinals.

Our View: Arroyo has won his last five decisions and hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last six starts.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 9/10, 5:05 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo had another quality start for the Reds as he allowed just two runs, neither were earned, in a seven inning no-decision against the Brewers. Arroyo stuck out only three on the day while walking four, but he only allowed five hits.

Our View: Arroyo has gone five starts without allowing more than two earned runs as he has brought his average down from 5.51 to 4.65. This was also the first time in five outings that he didn't pick up the victory, but regardless he is on one heck of a role right now.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 9/5, 9:42 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo threw an impressive 6.1 innings against the Cubs on Friday night. He allowed just one run on four hits while striking out six.

Our View: Arroyo has been a different pitcher since the All-Star break. He has gone 7-3 with a 3.30 ERA in the timespan. He had a 2.61 ERA in August.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 8/31, 2:43 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo threw another quality game for Cincinnati, as they downed the Giants, 9-3. Arroyo went seven innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out five.

Our View: Arroyo had a great August, compiling four wins and an ERA of 2.63. He should be able to help fantasy owners in September, even if he does fall off a little bit.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 8/26, 10:29 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo threw a gem Tuesday, allowing just one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three in a complete game effort.

Our View: Arroyo holds a 2.62 ERA in five starts this month.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 8/20, 9:52 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo won his 11th game of the season by going seven innings against the Cubs, surrendering just one earned run on three hits and walking five in Cincinnati's 2-1 win.

Our View: Arroyo has had a pretty good August, and has gone 2-2 with a 3.23 ERA. However, he is also walking 4.66 batters per nine innings, so fantasy owners should not put too much stock into him.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 8/9, 9:49 PM CT
The Reds failed to take advantage of the strong outing from RHP Bronson Arroyo, falling 3-1 to the Houston Astros. Arroyo pitched six innings, allowing two runs (both earned) on five hits with four walks and seven strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo takes the loss, falling to 10-9 on the season with an ERA of 5.44. He was 4-1 through July and now stands at 1-1 in August.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 8/4, 8:55 PM CT
Reds hurler Bronson Arroyo won his tenth game of the season after throwing six innings and surrendering just one run on four hits. He also struck out six in the Reds victory over Milwaukee.

Our View: Arroyo is inconsistent, and despite his decent strikeout rate, he really has no place in fantasy leagues.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 7/29, 9:44 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo has started 24 games, and has given up 25 home runs, which includes the grand slam he allowed tonight to Houston slugger Carlos Lee. Arroyo got the loss after a 6.1 inning, six earned run outing.

Our View: Arroyo had been rolling along with a 3.46 ERA in July before this start, but he went back to his old ways with tonight's performance.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 7/28, 7:40 PM CT
ESPN.com reports that Bronson Arroyo has been taken off the market. The Red Sox, Yankees and Rockies were among the teams rumored to be pursuing him.

Our View: Arroyo has not pitched well this season but has a 9-7 record and a good strikeout rate, both of which maintain his minimal fantasy value. He has given up 21 home runs and carries a 5.60 ERA.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 7/24, 10:45 AM CT
The Colorado Rockies are said to have interest in Bronson Arroyo according to the Rocky Mountain News. Arroyo is 9-7 with a 5.60 ERA.

Our View: In his last five starts, Arroyo's recorded five victories and a 3.09 ERA. However, he's a flyball pitcher and that's never a good idea in Colorado. Be wary if he lands in Denver.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 7/23, 3:31 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo allowed three earned runs on six hits over seven innings in Wednesday's 9-5 win over the Padres, with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Our View: He improves to 9-7, and has now won in five straight starts. He struggled at times this season, but should remain active in your lineups while he is hot.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 7/18, 8:46 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo pitched a great game against the New York Mets, picking up the victory as the Reds won 5-2. Arroyo threw eight innings, allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out four.

Our View: This is Arroyo's fourth win in as many starts. After struggling mightily at the beginning of the season, his ERA has now dropped from 6.52 on June 24 to 5.71.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 7/10, 5:00 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo hung on for his seventh win of the season though it wasn't pretty as he allowed seven hits and three walks leading to five runs over five innings.

Our View: Arroyo is 7-7 on the year but his ERA is just a shade under six at 5.97. Given that he has 93 K in 104 IP his stuff seems strong, though he has now been victimized for 19 long balls in 20 starts, a main culprit for his struggles.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 7/4, 4:40 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was dominant on the mound in Friday's 3-0 win over the Nationals, as he hurled six scoreless innings, with only five allowed, and had three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo pulls closer to the .500 mark, as he is now 6-7. He has been inconsistent, but has won two straight decisions.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 6/29, 3:36 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo only allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits over six innings in Sunday's 9-5 win over the inter-league rival Indians, with two walks and six strikeouts.

Our View: He improves to 5-7 and trimmed his ERA to 6.19. He bounced back well from his last start, as he was rocked for 10 earned runs over one inning against the Jays.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 6/24, 9:16 PM CT
At first glance it may look more like a football score, but the Toronto Blue Jays put the offense in full motion this evening, scoring 14 runs to defeat the Reds, 14-1. The bulk of the pain was felt by Cincinnati RHP Bronson Arroyo , surrendering an unbelievable 10 runs (all earned) on 11 hits, all posted in just one inning of work. Six runs were surrendered on three home runs during that span, giving Arroyo his seventh loss of the season.

Our View: The outing raises his ERA to 6.52 on the season, touting a record of 0-3 through five starts this month with nine total homers surrendered over that span.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 6/18, 9:02 PM CT
Cincinnati RHP Bronson Arroyo tried to get on the right path, but tonight the Dodgers had his number, handing the Reds a 6-1 loss. Arroyop pitched 6 1/3 innings to allow six runs (all earned) on seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

Our View: Arroyo now sits at 4-6 on the season with an ERA of 5.55, standing at 0-2 in four starts through June.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 6/14, 9:28 AM CT
Bronson Arroyo is fine after experiencing some right forearm cramps on Thursday. "I'm good," he informs the Cincinnati Enquirer. "No problem at all."

Our View: Maybe Arroyo should have forearm issues more often. He tossed six shutout innings on Thursday, one of his better efforts of the year.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsThursday 6/12, 9:26 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo rebounded from two poor starts last week to pitch beautifully on Thursday night as he worked six scoreless innings against the Cardinals. He also went 2-for-2 at the plate with his first home runs of the season.

Our View: Arroyo continues to confound with solid strikeout numbers (75 in 79.2 innings), but an abysmal WHIP (1.60). The big culprit has been batters amazing .375 BABIP off Arroyo this season. When that number regresses, Arroyo's performance should improve.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 6/7, 10:17 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo looked poor for his second straight start last just 4.2 innings during which time he gave up seven hits, two home runs, and two walks leading to four runs.

Our View: Arroyo was lined up for two starts this week, and he rewarded those who started him with nine runs in nine innings while permitting 17 hits. Great work Arroyo.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 6/2, 8:50 PM CT
It wasn't Bronson Arroyo's night on Monday. The right-hander served up 10 hits and five runs over 4.1 innings against the Phillies. Three of the balls went over the fence. Arroyo also walked two and struck out four.

Our View: Arroyo had pitched pretty darn well over his previous five starts, and we generally think he's headed in the right direction. This outing helps fantasy owners to recall why he's no better than a back-end, good-matchup starter for our rosters.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 5/28, 9:10 PM CT
Cincinnati RHP Bronson Arroyo didn't need too much off the mound with the surge of offensive support that led to a 9-1 win over Pittsburgh, but he still pitched rather well despite the gifts. Arroyo lasted six innings to surrender just one run on three hits, posting four walks and six strikeout.

Our View: Arroyo's last three decisions have been wins, now standing at 3-1 for the month of may with two no decisions and 14 walks versus 32 strikeouts.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 5/26, 12:06 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo had his next scheduled start moved up, according to MLB.com. Arroyo, who was originally scheduled to start Friday, will instead get the start on Wednesday. The team was forced to use two starters to help in relief during a 18-inning loss to San Diego on Sunday. Arroyo replaces Aaron Harang, who pitched four innings in relief. Harang will now start on Thursday.

Our View: Arroyo still should not be considered for your lineup, as he is 3-4 with a 5.68 ERA and 1.65 WHIP.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 5/20, 11:44 AM CT
Bronson Arroyo continued his up and down season. After two strong starts, the right-hander regressed again. Arroyo allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits, walked three and struck out thee in five innings.

Our View: The Cincinnati starter was coming off an outing on three days rest, so we will give him the benefit of the doubt and consider the outing had some fatigue factor.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 5/19, 3:34 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo will try and build on back-to-back strong starts in the series opener at Los Angeles tonight. Arroyo was 1-4 with an 8.63 ERA after being torched by Atlanta for seven runs in 1.1 innings, the shortest outing of his career on May 4. In two starts since, he's 1-0 with an 0.60 ERA, allowing one earned run and striking out 14 in 15 innings.

Our View: In his last start, he left after seven innings with a 6-0 lead, but the bullpen couldn't hold it in what became a 7-6, 10-inning victory over Florida. Arroyo was working on short rest in his start against the Reds, something that has been favorable for him in the past. Despite the claims that Arroyo has some sort of injury, he continues to claim he's never felt better.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 5/14, 10:17 PM CT
Review the work of the starting pitching for the Cincinnati Reds tonight and you'll wonder how they got to 10 innings to pull victory from the jaws of defeat. RHP Bronson Arroyo pitched seven innings, failing to allow a single run on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: After going 1-3 with a 6.97 ERA in April, Arroyo has started to improve, going 1-1 with tonight's no decision in May, though he has surrendered eight earned runs overall.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 5/11, 11:46 AM CT
The Reds have "TBA" listed as their starting pitcher for Wednesday and Thursday, but the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bronson Arroyo will likely take the mound on short rest on Wednesday.

Our View: We're sure the short rest will do wonders for his 7.14 ERA and 1.71 WHIP. Arroyo should be on fantasy teams' benches.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSaturday 5/10, 11:23 PM CT
Cincinnati RHP Bronson Arroyo has been struggling of late, but today he found his comfort zone and pitched the Reds to a strong 7-1 win. Arroyo pitched eight full innings, giving up just one run on four hits, walking two while striking out nine.

Our View: Arroyo has struggled to get to the sixth inning, this being his longest start thus far. He continues to give up the long ball, but a win is a win.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 5/5, 8:34 AM CT
Bronson Arroyo will be examined physically after allowing seven runs and seven hits over a mere 1.1 innings of work against Atlanta on Sunday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Manager Dusty Baker said, "We're kind of lost right now. We're going to get him checked out, maybe something is wrong with him. His pitches aren't sharp. His breaking ball isn't crisp. He's kind of gotten a little bit predictable as far as throwing the 3-2 breaking ball. Ordinarily, that ball Tom Glavine hit doesn't stay up in the zone. We'll get him examined. You don't want to find anything. But, hopefully, we can come up with some kind of solution. I know he's going crazy, too."

Our View: Arroyo countered, "There ain't nothing to check out. They said they want to check me out? That's probably the best I felt in years on a day game. I've got no excuses. They just beat my butt. I had a good fastball, decent command, everything felt good." Arroyo is 1-4 with a 8.63 ERA and 1.95 WHIP and should remain on your bench until he gets himself straightened out.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsSunday 5/4, 4:11 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo lasted only 1.1 innings against the Braves on Sunday. He allowed seven hits and seven runs before being pulled, and his season-to-date ERA rose to 8.63.

Our View: Arroyo has only one quality start over his seven outings this year, and we have to wonder when his seat will start to get hot. He's been good enough for long enough to earn a lot of leeway, but fantasy owners need to think about benching him until he shows us something better.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsTuesday 4/29, 8:21 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo has been pushed back in the rotation and will make his next start next Tuesday instead of Saturday as originally planned, according to MLB.com. Arroyo, who is coming off his first win of the year, will be pitching on seven day's rest. Matt Belisle will pitch on Saturday, and Edinson Volquez, Aaron Harang and Johnny Cueto will get to stay on their regular rest after Thursday's day off.

Our View: Arroyo didn't look very good Monday despite the win and has been throwing a lot of offspeed pitches. Perhaps a little more rest between starts will help get him back on track.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 4/28, 10:41 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo pitched six solid innings on Monday night in the Reds 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Arroyo allowed three runs on six hits and struck out six for his first victory since Sept. 12, which happened to be against the Cardinals.

Our View: He had been 0-4 in eight outings since, including an 0-3 start to the season for the second time in his career. He entered with a 7.56 ERA after failing to make it out of the fourth inning while allowing eight runs in his previous start, against Houston.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 4/28, 5:00 PM CT
The Reds will send Bronson Arroyo (0-3, 7.56 ERA) to the mound tonight, hoping he can bounce back from his worst start of the season. Arroyo lasted just 3.2 innings against the Astros on Wednesday, allowing eight runs and 10 hits. ''I feel great,'' said Arroyo, notes MLB.com. Arroyo hasn't made it through six innings in any of his April starts. ''I've watched the video, but there's nothing to see," said Arroyo.

Our View: Arroyo is pitching like he did before he even found his way to Boston and then Cincinnati, when he resided in Pittsburgh. He's also bucking a trend that's made him and early season favorite during most of his big league campaigns. April has typically been his best month.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsWednesday 4/23, 9:51 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo was bombed by the Astros for eight runs in 3.2 innings as he fell to 0-3 on the year.

Our View: Arroyo's ERA rose to 7.56 as he has now allowed 37 hits in just 25 IP. Everything he is throwing right now is being hit, and there doesn't appear to be much light at the end of the loser tunnel for Arroyo.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsFriday 4/18, 9:19 PM CT
Bronson Arroyo had another rough outing on Friday as he fell to 0-2 thanks to allowing five runs, four earned, in 5.2 innings.

Our View: Arroyo allowed eight hits and three walks on the night, and he has now allowed a scary high 27 hits in just 21.1 innings on the season. Face it, he is nothing more than a slightly above average hurler at this point.
Bronson Arroyo, P, Cincinnati RedsMonday 4/7, 2:18 PM CT

Bronson Arroyo will take the hill on Wednesday against Dan Haren of the Diamondbacks, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Arroyo had a solid spring training and Haren was a prized off-season acquisition for Arizona, so this should be a good pitcher's duel.

Bronson Arroyo has struggled and experienced a dip in velocity, but he doesn't want any extra rest. "Last year - the way I threw all season - I felt like I had a right to say, 'Hey, I want to go every fifth day,'" Arroyo tells the Cincinnati Enquirer. "Aaron (Harang) still has a right to say that. I have no right to say anything...I usually don't like extra days. We've been having extra days a lot, anyway. It doesn't matter than much."

I don't think he felt well enough to pitch, but he wanted to get his work in."
