Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 7/18, 6:14 PM CT
Instead of joining the bullpen, pitcher Mark Redman has been removed from the Rockies roster, and will decide if he wants to accept a demotion to the minor leagues, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View: Redman has been just plain awful and should not be near anyone's fantasy squad.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 7/18, 2:21 PM CT
Mark Redman has been moved to the Rockies' bullpen, according to the Rocky Mountain News. He was moved so Kip Wells can return to the rotation, starting this Monday against the Dodgers.

Our View: Redman has struggled as a starter, and holds no value as a reliever in standard leagues.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/13, 10:21 PM CT
Mark Redman stay in the Rockies rotation is uncertain. The veteran left-hander was never in control of Sunday's 7-0 loss to the Mets. The big blow to Redman's start was a Carlos Beltran home run in the first inning that traveled an estimated 415 feet giving New York a 3-0 lead.

Our View: With Kip Wells and possibly Jason Hirsh expected to join the Roks rotation in the second half, Redman will be released or sent back to Triple-A.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/2, 7:34 PM CT
Right-handed pitcher Mark Redman has been recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs, according to the AP. He will fill the roster spot for Jeff Francis, who landed on the 15-day DL.

Our View: Redman lost his job in the rotation earlier in the season, as he went 2-3 with a 7.84 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over six starts. He is not worth fantasy consideration.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 5/7, 8:19 PM CT
The Colorado Rockies have announced their decision to send LHP Mark Redman to the bullpen, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Redman has struggled in recent starts and the team feels he would be best served as a middle reliever. Manager Clint Hurdle has not announced his plans for Redman's next scheduled start on Sunday. The team is believed to be working on a trade to add a potential starter, but a failure to do so is likely to result in minor league call-up. At this time, Triple-A Colorado Springs pitcher Greg Reynolds seems likely to get the call. We will update as news becomes available.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/16, 11:53 PM CT
Mark Redman improved to 2-1 on the season thanks to limiting the Padres to two runs over five innings. Redman only struck out two batters, but he also allowed only three hits.

Our View: Redman is nothing more than a staff filler in an NL Only league, and a merely average one of those as a matter of fact. He doesn't miss enough bats to be considered a safe start in almost any situation, even with his solid outing tonight.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 4/14, 10:15 AM CT
Mark Redman is ready for action again, according to the Denver Post. He threw a 50-pitch bullpen session on Sunday, and is set to start on Wednesday against San Diego. His bruised left foot is no longer a problem, but he is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left heel. He noted, "I let it loose and it felt good. I look forward to pitching in Petco Park. It's a great pitcher's park."

Our View: Redman is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA so far this season.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 4/13, 10:07 PM CT
Mark Redman will be able to start on Wednesday against the Padres, MLB.com confirms. The southpaw tested his bruised left foot in a bullpen session on Sunday.

Our View: It might be a good time to start your Padres hitters.

Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 3/2, 5:51 PM CT
Mark Redman tossed three scoreless innings Sunday, not allowing a single hit while striking out five. The lefty pitched two scoreless innings in his first outing this spring. Redman entered camp as one of the favorites for the No. 5 spot in the Rockies rotation, and his performance so far this spring has done nothing but help him.
Mark Redman, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 2/27, 9:04 AM CT
Mark Redman and Franklin Morales appear to have an edge in the competition for the No. 5 spot in the rotation for the Rox, according to the Rocky Mountain News. This is based on the fact that Kip Wells is capable out of the bullpen and Josh Towers can start the year at Triple-A. Redman pitched well for Colorado late last year but had a lackluster 2007 campaign overall. He's not an option in fantasy even if he wins a starting spot.

It doesn't look like the Rockies are counting on Redman to make any sort of contribution this year, and fantasy owners shouldn't, either.
