Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 10/2, 12:17 AM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with his eighth home run on Thursday, as the Mariners beat the A's 4-2 at home.

Our View: You read that right: only eight home runs for Adrian Beltre in 2009. That's over the course of 108 games. Look for the free-agent-to-be to get paid, at the minimum, half as much as the $13 million he made per season the last five years in Seattle.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/13, 7:53 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Rangers.

Our View: Beltre has disappointed on many levels this season. Whether it's been his inability to stay healthy or his .263 average, five homers and 35 RBI, fantasy owners (if there are any left) don't have much to smile about.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 9/1, 4:42 PM CT
Adrian Beltre has been activated from the 15-day DL following his recovery from a contused testicle, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Beltre's contract with Seattle runs out after the season, and he will try to post strong numbers down the stretch in his bid for a new deal.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 8/29, 12:08 PM CT
Adrian Beltre was not ready to come off the DL when first eligible Friday, but skipper Don Wakamatsu believes be may be ready to return Tuesday, according to the Seattle Times. He has been recovering from a contused testicle.

Our View: This is good news, and hopefully Beltre will learn his lesson and wear the proper protection when he returns, as this injury could have been avoided.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 8/26, 12:30 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is still uncertain if he will be able to come off the DL when eligible on Friday, according to MLB.com. Beltre is still recovering from a severely contused right testicle.

Our View: This should be a lesson to all young ballplayers out there to wear protective equipment when playing the infield. There is still some swelling, but Beltre has been working out over the last few days and it has been going well. If he doesn't come off Friday, he should be able to do so soon after.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 8/24, 9:38 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is progressing in his recovery from a contused testicle, according to the Seattle Times. Skipper Don Wakamatsu said, "Adrian is feeling better. There is still some swelling in there. He is going to do some light activity and take some batting practice today. This might be a good sign."

Our View: This is encouraging regarding his odds of coming off the DL when first eligible August 28.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 8/14, 5:55 PM CT
Adrian Beltre will not need surgery on a contused testicle, according to the News Tribune.

Our View: He will need at least one week to rest, meaning he could be ready to come off the 15-day DL when first eligible.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 8/13, 7:06 PM CT
Adrian Beltre has landed on the 15-day DL due to an injured testicle, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: He was struck by a ball in the groin during Wednesday's game, and he is dealing with some tearing and internal bleeding. The club is yet to determine if he needs surgery, which could shut him down for at least a month.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 8/6, 10:50 PM CT
Adrian Beltre had a big night on Thursday just two days after being activated off the DL. Beltre went 4-for-4 with a run scored in the Mariners' 8-2 loss to the Royals.

Our View: Beltre looked just fine at the plate tonight, so fantasy owners should feel comfortable with playing him again. He may not have the power he used to before the injury, but he should still contribute to fantasy rosters over the last two months.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 8/4, 4:10 PM CT
Adrian Beltre has been activated from the 15-day DL following his recovery from left shoulder surgery, according to TSN. Infielder Chris Woodward was designated for assignment as the adjoining move.

Our View: Beltre returned sooner than expected, and should be healthy enough to help fantasy owners in deeper leagues down the stretch.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 8/1, 12:07 PM CT
Adrian Beltre (shoulder) ran the bases on Friday night and remains on track to come off the DL on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Our View: We're not quite sure how running helps the recovery from shoulder surgery, but we'll go with the flow. Fantasy owners in AL-only leagues can expect to use Beltre next week.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/30, 9:15 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Mariners' third baseman Adrian Beltre is "almost ready to go". Beltre has been out since June after shoulder surgery, but he could return on Tuesday.

Our View: Beltre was expected to be out for 6-to-8 weeks, but if he does come back Tuesday it will be after only five weeks. He will likely not be 100 percent for the rest of the season, but he should give the Mariners a spark when he returns to the hot corner.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 7/27, 9:02 AM CT
The Everette Herald is reporting that injured Mariners' third baseman Adrian Beltre took dozens of ground balls Sunday morning before the team's afternoon game. Beltre said he is ready to return to the lineup, but the team believes he will be out for another week.

Our View: When Beltre had the surgery on his left shoulder in June, the team believed he would be out until late August, so they won't rush him back this soon unless he is really ready to go. The new timetable suggested by the team is next week against Kansas City, so be ready for him to return by then. We will keep you updated on his status as the next week progresses.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/24, 10:49 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is progressing well in his recovery from left shoulder surgery, and believes he will return to the Mariners in two weeks, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Beltre has built up a rep of playing hurt in Seattle, and feels like he can play right now. He will hit off a tee Saturday, and will likely go on a rehab assignment to get some at-bats before returning.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/22, 5:28 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is progressing well in his recovery from left shoulder surgery, according to the Seattle Times. Manager Don Wakamatsu said, "He says he is ready. He took groundballs yesterday. It was supposed to be controlled ground balls right at him, and then all of the sudden you see someone hook one down the line and he snatches it. Everything is going really good with him."

Our View: Beltre remains around a week away from hitting off a tee, but his range of motion is improving and is working hard to return to Seattle, which could be in early September.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/16, 9:38 AM CT
According to MLB.com, injured Mariners' third baseman Adrian Beltre is expected to rejoin the team during their three-game series in Detroit on July 21. Beltre will then return with the team to Seattle to continue his rehab from shoulder surgery.

Our View: Beltre is still expected to miss five more weeks, but it sounds like the rehab is going well. When he does return, it seems likely that he won't have nearly as much pop in his bat as he did before the injury, so his fantasy value will be slim at best. Don't expect a miraculous return to dominance for Beltre this season.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/10, 1:35 PM CT
Adrian Beltre could be back in six weeks, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.

Our View: This is good news for the M's, as it was thought he could miss much more time. Chris Woodward will continue to man third during his absence, though the Mariners have inquired about the Padres' Kevin Kouzmanoff.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/30, 6:07 PM CT
Adrian Beltre has been placed on the 15-day DL by the Mariners, according to the Associated Press. Newly acquired outfielder Ryan Langerhans was added to the roster to fill Beltre's spot.

Our View: Beltre underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his left shoulder. He is expected to be on the shelf for 6-8 weeks while recovering.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/30, 11:23 AM CT
According to MLB.com, Mariners' third baseman Adrian Beltre is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday to remove bone spurs from his shoulder. Beltre is expected to be out until mid-August at the earliest.

Our View: Beltre has been playing through the intense pain in his shoulder for awhile now, but apparently it just became too much. The best case scenario seems to be him returning in mid-August, but don't be shocked if it takes longer than that for him to return. If you have an open DL spot you aren't using, feel free to use it on Beltre. If you don't, you should probably get rid of him.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/27, 8:31 PM CT
Adrian Beltre will play for Seattle tonight, but it will be his last time on the field for quite some time as he's decided to opt for surgery to fix the bone spurs in his left shoulder that were reported earlier in the week, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View: Beltre will be out at least a month, though he could also be sidelined for twice that long depending on how quickly he heals. He still has a nice combination of power and speed and will be playing for a new contract once he returns, so you might not want to drop him outright, especially if you can afford to place him on the DL once the Mariners put him there too, but you'll certainly have to plan to go with someone else at third for the foreseeable future. Expect Jose Lopez to slide from second to third base and for Ronny Cedeno and Chris Woodward to split time at second.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 6/25, 12:55 PM CT
The Tacoma News Tribune is reporting that third baseman Adrian Beltre is suffering from bone spurs in his shoulder and he will need surgery to fix it at some point. Beltre is playing through the pain right now, and he is undecided on when he will have the surgery.

Our View: This seems to eliminate Beltre from any trade rumors for the rest of this season, as no team is going to be willing to trade for a guy who has surgery pending. Beltre will be a free agent after this season, which makes his decision rather difficult. He doesn't want to cheat the Mariners, but at the same time he needs to be healthy for next season if he is going to sign for good money somewhere else. He is fine in fantasy lineups for now, but watch closely in the coming weeks for a decision on surgery.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/23, 8:04 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is in tonight's lineup against San Diego after missing Sunday's game with an extremely sore shoulder, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: Beltre had two days to rest, and should be fine to employ in fantasy lineups if he is a regular contributor to your team. He hit 18 homers over 442 career at-bats against the Padres, and opposing hurler Chad Gaudin has a 5.98 ERA this season.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 6/21, 8:31 AM CT
According to the Seattle Times, Adrian Beltre is dealing with an extremely sore shoulder, but is playing though the pain.

Our View: Beltre jammed the shoulder while diving into second base on Friday night. Apparently it was so stiff on Saturday he could barely move it, but with the Mariners dealing with a litany of injuries right now he stayed in the lineup. Quite an admirable thing for Beltre to do, but his stats suffered. He went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts on Saturday and was apparently taking some "ugly swings". Don't be surprised if he gets a day off in the near future. It many not be a bad time to sit him anyway.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/16, 11:29 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Tuesday's 5-0 win at San Diego.

Our View: Beltre has a nine-game hitting streak, with 14 total hits and five RBI over the span. Keep him active in fantasy lineups while he is swinging a hot stick.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 6/15, 12:38 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Adrian Beltre has at least one hit in 19 of his last 23 games and is hitting 35-for-93 (.376) over that span. Hitting coach Alan Cockrell claims he has found his comfort zone and has become more selective. He also attributed his struggles this season to trying to do too much.

Our View: Beltre looks to be on his way back to being a solid option at the hot corner in fantasy leagues. We expect that the worst is behind him this season and he should be a safe play more weeks than not going forward.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/10, 8:41 PM CT
Adrian Beltre was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored as the Mariners defeated Baltimore 4-1 on Wednesday.

Our View: In the past 10 games, Beltre has raised his average from .216 to .250. It appears that the worst is over for Beltre this season and he should resume his typically solid play going forward. Despite his long slump to start the season, he has maintained his spot as the No. 3 hitter in the Mariners lineup.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 6/3, 11:55 PM CT
Adrian Beltre was 3-for-5 with three RBI, a home run, a double, and a run scored as the Mariners defeated the Orioles 3-2 on Wednesday.

Our View: Don't look now, but Beltre is hot. He has multiple hits in five of his last six games and six of his last eight. He has 15 hits in that span but tonight was his first home run in this stretch. All four of his home runs have come since May 9.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 5/26, 11:56 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the Mariners' 4-3 loss to the A's on Tuesday.

Our View: The M's really need Beltre to start hitting, and tonight was a good start. He has been terrible at the plate this season, and his fantasy value is at rock bottom right now.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/24, 8:09 PM CT
Adrian Beltre hit a three-run homer in the Mariners' 5-4 win over the Giants on Sunday. It was his only hit in four at-bats.

Our View: Beltre has been miserable this season with just three homers, 19 RBI and a pathetic .215 average. Barring a huge hot streak, he likely won't put up his usual 25 home runs and 80-90 RBI.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/20, 8:15 PM CT
The Seattle Times is reporting that Adrian Beltre will move to the number two spot in the order for Wednesday's game. Beltre is mired in a slump, and the Mariners hope he will be more selective in his new spot.

Our View: The Mariners had to move Beltre out of the four-hole, as he has been terrible there this year. His OBP is at a shocking .236, and manager Don Wakamatsu is hoping hitting him number two will allow him to be more selective. Don't look for him to ever be the hitter he once was, but he can't be this bad all season.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 5/20, 7:23 AM CT
Adrian Beltre returned to the Mariners' lineup Tuesday after he was held out in the previous game to rest, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He was given a day off as he was stuck in an 0-for-13 slump. The rest did not help however, as he went 0-for-4 is Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Angels. He holds an anemic .205 batting average for the season, and is worth benching if you have a more suitable option at the position.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 5/18, 7:15 PM CT
For the first time this season, Adrian Beltre is not in the starting lineup for the Seattle Mariners, according to the AP. Manager Don Wakamatsu said he will start again on Tuesday, but he was not sure if he would resume his No. 4 spot in the order.

Our View: Beltre is hitting just .211/.242/.316 this season and he has no hits in his last 13 at bats. We have seen benchings snap the slumps of players like J.J. Hardy this season, and hopefully Beltre's night off will get his mind right.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 4/29, 4:25 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and he went 1-for-2 on stolen base opportunities in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the White Sox.

Our View: His perfect day at the plate raised his average to only .207. Wednesday was his first game of the season that he recorded more than two hits in a game. He has hit under .250 just once since his rookie season and we like his odds of hitting over that mark in 2009. The best news is that he already has four steals on the season.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 4/18, 12:08 AM CT
Third baseman Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, one run, one RBI, and a stolen base on Friday night.

Our View: We'll take anything we can get at this point. Beltre is off to a slow start and has yet to hit a ball over the fence. We're not too worried. The power will come.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 4/9, 3:14 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-2 with an RBI in Thursday's 2-0 win at Minnesota. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: Beltre is 5-for-13 with three RBI over the first four games of the season. He helped Seattle even their record to 2-2 today.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 3/24, 1:26 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired shoulder, according to the Seattle Times. Manager Don Wakamatsu said, "It is nothing serious, but we would rather take it slow now than later. Again, our whole goal with him is to be where he feels good and does not have any aches or pains prior to the season."

Our View: Beltre will work out today, but won't return to the lineup until Thursday. He should continue to be drafted as a bottom tier starting third baseman in mixed leagues unless we learn that he has suffered a more substantial setback.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 2/28, 10:31 AM CT
The Mariners are holding Adrian Beltre out of the World Baseball Classic, according to the Seattle Times. Beltre had undergone several surgeries on his thumb and shoulder and the Mariners were not convinced his playing at full speed right away is in his best interest.

Our View: Beltre is a key member of a Mariners club that is short on solid hitters, especially after losing Raul Ibanez to Philadelphia, and the club does not want to risk losing him to an injury in the tournament.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 2/18, 11:57 AM CT
Third baseman Adrian Beltre is having no problems with his thumb, but his surgically-repaired left shoulder is barking. "The thumb seems to be outstanding," manager Don Wakamatsu tells the Seattle Times. "The shoulder, he's having a little bit of stiffness in it right now. So, I think in the next week or so, we'll see where he's at and watch him continue to work out."

Our View: Beltre still wants to play in the World Baseball Classic, but the Mariners may still persuade him to take it easy this spring. It's too early for fantasy owners to worry much about this news, but weakness in the lead hitting shoulder is often not a good thing.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 2/16, 10:58 PM CT
Despite the Mariners wish not to have Adrian Beltre playing in the World Baseball Classic, the third baseman seems determined to do so, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View: Team's typically only voice concern about players participating in the tournament if there is an injury concern. Beltre had two surgeries, one on his shoulder and one on his thumb, in September. At this point, it appears that he will play in the WBC.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 1/13, 4:44 PM CT
After September surgery on his left shoulder and thumb, Adrian Beltre is ready to play for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.

Our View: Adrian appears to be healthy and ready to go. He's in a contract year again, and we all know what happened when he was in that situation.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 12/11, 2:22 PM CT
Adrian Beltre has added the Twins to his no-trade clause, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: The Twins garnered interest in Beltre when they were unable to reel in Casey Blake.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 12/6, 12:24 PM CT
The Twins may have interest in Adrian Beltre after talks broke off with free agent Casey Blake, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View: Beltre had a productive season for Seattle in 2008, batting .266 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 9/19, 10:43 AM CT
Adrian Beltre underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in his shoulder, as well as ligament replacement surgery on his left thumb, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The procedures were deemed successful, and his rehab time looks to be 3-4 months, putting him on track to be ready for spring training.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/14, 6:11 PM CT
In what was likely the last game of his 2008 season, Adrian Beltre went 0-for-4 for the Mariners.

Our View: Beltre will have surgery this week on his injured thumb and will most likely end the year with a .266-25-77-74-8 line. Though he will never match his outlandish 2004 campaign (.334-48-121), Beltre has hit at least 19 home runs with 75 RBI in each of the past seven seasons, something no other third baseman can claim.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/14, 8:01 AM CT
The Los Angeles Times speculates that Beltre could return to the Dodgers next season. Beltre has a home in Pasadena and has one year remaining on his contract with Seattle.

Our View: This would seem like a possibility after the Dodgers traded Andy LaRoche and shifted Blake DeWitt to second base, but there will probably be plenty more suitors for Beltre if Seattle makes him available.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 9/13, 7:09 PM CT
Adrian Beltre will finish the weekend series against the Angels and then undergo surgery to repair the torn ligament in his left thumb, according to the Seatle Times. The procedure is scheduled for next Thursday.

Our View: That will allow him time to get healthy for spring training. Matt Tuiasosopo could play regularly in the final two weeks of the season at third base in his place.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 9/11, 8:49 PM CT
Adrian Beltre has a torn ligament in his thumb and it will require surgery, but he isn't certain if he will undergo the procedure now or wait until the end of the season, according to the Seattle Times. "What I really want to do is finish the year, then do it. Everyone's against me, and wanting me me to do it before then."

Our View: The reason "everyone is against him" is because the team wants him to have the surgery now to make sure that he will be full recovered by the time spring training roles around next year since the average recovery time is four to five months. At this point we wouldn't count on much from Beltre and would certainly have a backup plan if you have been relying on Beltre. He is scheduled to be in the lineup on Thursday night.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 9/7, 5:50 PM CT
Adrian Beltre reached 13 games with his hitting streak by helping Seattle to a 5-2 win over the Yankees. Beltre went 2-for-3 on the day, with a home run and two RBI.

Our View: Beltre is hitting an absurd .520 so far in September with two home runs. That'll likely not last, but his production has been solid all year, and fantasy owners will appreciate a bump in his batting average.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 9/4, 12:35 PM CT
The San Francisco Giants are interested in acquiring the services of Seattle third baseman Adrian Beltre, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: This rumored move would not affect Beltre's fantasy value much, as he would simply go from one pitchers' park to another. That said, he is a productive player who is capable of hitting 30 home runs while driving in 90 or so.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 9/1, 10:35 PM CT
Adrian Beltre hit for the cycle on Monday night as he had his third, five-hit game of his career. When combined with the outing of Stephen Drew who also hit for the cycle, this was the first day for dual cycles in the majors since September 17th, 1920 (Bobby Veach and George Burns).

Our View: Beltre also scored five times with three RBI on the night to push his season totals to .262-24-72-72-8. It certainly is far from pretty at times, but then again, when you look up at the end of the year he always seems to have his 25 home runs and 85 RBI, and there is certainly value in that.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 8/31, 4:05 PM CT
Adrian Beltre swatted two homers and led the Mariners to a win over the Indians on Sunday. He went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI.

Our View: Beltre hasn't had trouble hitting it out of the park this season. It's everything else that hasn't clicked.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 8/26, 11:59 PM CT
The Mariners found runs were hard to come by, but they put up just enough to get the 3-2 win over the Twins. Third baseman Adrian Beltre was the top dog, going 3-for-4 with his 26th double of the season, adding one run scored to the stat line.

Our View: It's been a rough month for Beltre, hitting just .209 through August coming into this game with two homers and 11 RBIs. He's starting to heat up a bit, but the lack of run production and power is concerning.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/31, 10:12 PM CT
Mariners third baseman Adrian Beltre, who had been rumored to be trade bait, stayed in Seattle and helped the Mariners beat the Rangers with a two-run home run on Thursday. He went 1-for-4 in the contest.

Our View: Beltre now has 19 home runs and 54 RBI on the season. Fantasy owners will deal with his marginal batting average as long as his power totals remain high.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/31, 7:35 AM CT
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Twins have interest in Seattle third baseman Adrian Beltre, whom the Giants like, too. A major-league source told The Chronicle that the Twins, Dodgers and Angels have been the most active pursuers of Beltre, whom the Mariners do not plan to part with cheaply.

Our View: Beltre has a $12 million price tag next season but then becomes a free agent. He would be a big boost to a Twins lineup that is just on the cusp of the playoffs. Beltre would likely put up better numbers in any lineup other than Seattle's.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/30, 5:29 PM CT
The Adrian Beltre to San Francisco Giants talk is apparently dying down, according to a report at the Seattle Times.

Our View: The Giants appear willing to take on Beltre and his $12 million contract for next season as they feel a return to the fastball friendly National League could return him to all-star levels. However, the Giants don't want to move any of their young arms, which is why the trade talks have apparently died down.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 7/28, 10:26 PM CT
Adrian Beltre hit two home runs and recorded four RBI against the Rangers in a 7-5 Mariners win on Monday. He had not homered since July 1st.

Our View: Beltre needs to get hot. After the big game he still has just 51 RBI. Its not entirely his fault though. Sure he's hitting just .258 but the rest of the offense has sputtered for most of the season. They have shown some life in the past few games so better numbers could lie ahead for Beltre.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 7/25, 6:23 PM CT
The Minnesota Twins have not given up on trying to acquire third baseman Adrian Beltre from Seattle, despite reports to the contrary, according to Jayson Stark of ESPN.com.

Our View: Beltre is a productive player, but getting him out of Safeco Field would make him that much more valuable to fantasy players.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 7/20, 9:09 AM CT
The Star Tribune indicates that a deal for Seattle slugger Adrian Beltre to join the Twins is not likely to happen. The Twins recently contacted the Mariners regarding Beltre, but the team reportedly felt the asking price was too high. The Mariners could be asking for one of the Twins' young starting pitchers, plus minor league prospects.

Our View: Beltre is the Mariners' best defender in the infielder and he belted 16 homers with 46 RBI in an underachieving lineup so far. The team is not going to deal him for a low price.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 7/14, 8:22 AM CT
The Twins have contacted the Mariners to inquire about third baseman Adrian Beltre, according to the Star Tribune. The Twins are looking to boost their offensive production against left-handed hurlers. It is unclear how far the discussions got.

Our View: Beltre is also strong defensively and would fill a need at third base in that area as well. He hit 16 homers this season with the cellar dwelling Mariners and his rate would likely go up while playing his home games in Minnesota and with more to fight for, as the Twins currently only sit 1.5 games behind the White Sox in the AL Central.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/9, 10:19 AM CT
The Twins have had internal discussions regarding potentially trading for Seattle slugger Adrian Beltre, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: Shortstop and third base are two needs for the Twins, and Beltre would fill the void at the hot corner. He has 16 homers with Seattle so far, and his rate would likely increase by playing his home games in Minnesota as opposed to pitcher-friendly Safeco. The Twins are only 2.5 games behind the Sox in the AL Central.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersThursday 7/3, 12:13 PM CT
Adrian Beltre faces the Detroit Tigers and hurler Justin Verlander tonight. Beltre has picked his game up a bit as of late, but this is not a good match-up for him. In his career against Verlander, Beltre is 3-for-18, a .167 average, with five strikeouts.

Our View: In his last six games, Beltre has gotten two or more hits in four of them. Still, with his poor track record against Verlander, it may be best to stick somebody else at the hot corner on your fantasy squad.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersWednesday 7/2, 12:22 AM CT
Seattle and Toronto battled late into the night with the hometown Mariners finding the strength to emerge victorious, 7-6. The charge was led by third baseman Adrian Beltre , going 3-for-4 with one walk and his 16th home run of the season, totaling two RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Beltre managed to hit just .264 last month with three home runs and 15 RBIs. We all know he is capable of much more, and with this impressive start to July, we may see it come to the stage in the month ahead.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 6/29, 6:45 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-5 with a homer, two runs, and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Padres. He has multiple hits in six of his last nine games, raising his average from .225 to .251 during that span.

Our View: It looks like someone is angling to increase his trade value. Beltre could be on the market as we approach July 31, and teams are more likely to call the M's if he's actually hitting well. Fantasy owners should be cautiously optimistic.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/28, 12:25 AM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-5 with three RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Padres. Both of his hits went for singles, and he also chipped in two stolen bases.

Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 6/22, 1:35 PM CT
Adrian Beltre is out of the lineup for Seattle today, battling an injured left index finger, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Mariners' third baseman reinjured the finger Saturday night while fielding ground balls in pregame warmups, forcing him to sit out the game. As a precaution, he did not start in the series finale in Atlanta as well. Manager Jim Riggleman hinted that Beltre, who didn't join the team on the field for batting practice, probably wouldn't even be well enough to pinch-hit on Sunday.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/21, 6:39 PM CT
Adrian Beltre was a late scratch from Saturday's lineup because of a bruised left index finger, according to the AP. Miguel Cairo started at third for the M's.

Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersTuesday 6/17, 12:11 AM CT
Adrian Beltre continued to struggle on Monday night as he went 0-for-3 with a single run scored to see his average dip to .225.

Our View: After hitting .290 in April, Beltre has regressed to an anemic .180 over his last 42 games. Perhaps the wrist issue that he entered the year with is a bigger deal than he or the team let on, it's about the only way one could explain this dreadful stretch.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 6/15, 12:00 AM CT
The Mariners suffered the 5-2 loss versus Washington in interleague action today, though third baseman Adrian Beltre made a bit of noise. Beltre went 1-for-3 with one walk and his 14th homer of the season, good for one RBI and one run scored on the day.

Our View: Beltre came in hitting an abysmal .150 for the month of June, and while tonight didn't help that effort, it could get him back on track with the power surge.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersFriday 5/30, 11:57 PM CT
Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and hit two homers in Friday's 7-4 loss to Detroit.

Adrian Beltre hit a solo home run off the Tigers Justin Verlander in the first inning giving the Mariners an early lead. But Seattle didn't score again until the seventh inning when they trailed by 10.

Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSunday 5/11, 12:41 AM CT
Seattle suffered the 8-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox, but 3B Adrian Beltre did his best to keep his team in the mix. Beltre went 2-for-4 at the plate, hitting his seventh homer of the season good for three RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Beltre had hit a slump coming in, going 0-for-13 in the four games before the Mariners welcomed Chicago. This may get him back on the path to glory.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersSaturday 4/19, 10:29 PM CT
Adrian Beltre hit his third home run of the season on Saturday to provide the Mariners with their only run off Ervin Santana.

Our View: Beltre is hitting .314 with 10 extra base hits in the early going to help put behind him the thought that his injured wrist would slow him down. It hasn't.
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Seattle MarinersMonday 4/14, 9:03 PM CT

Adrian Beltre may need surgery on his injured wrist but is opting to play through the pain, according to the Seattle Post Intelligencer. He continues to have pain and while the injury isn't getting worse, it isn't getting better either. Doctors have told him the odds are good that he will need to have surgery at the end of this season, and Beltre commented, "The bone spurs are still there, but they're not too bad now, I'm used to them. It hurts every time I swing and miss. I'd like to make more contact, because that doesn't hurt as much. It hurts to hold the bat it hurts every time. There's always pain." Beltre remains a risky fantasy option.
