Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 7/23, 3:02 PM CT
Kevin Millar was 2-for-4 with a home run and a pair of RBI in the Blue Jays' 5-4 loss to the Indians on Thursday.

Our View: Millar has just five homers and 24 RBI this season, and doesn't see enough action to be considered in fantasy leagues. He started out hot with a .343 average in April, but since then has failed to hit above .218 in any other month this season.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 5/19, 8:57 PM CT
Kevin Millar provided all of the offense for the Blue Jays on Tuesday as his team fell to the Red Sox 2-1. Millar went 1-for-3 with a solo home run.

Our View: Millar is hitting an even .300 on the year, but he hasn't shown much power. His fantasy value is pretty slim unless he starts hitting bombs on a more regular basis. Stay away from him until he shows he can be a run producer.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 5/18, 2:28 PM CT
Kevin Millar went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in Monday's 3-2 win over the White Sox at the Rogers Centre. His other knock was a single.

Our View: Millar snapped a 14-game drought without a home run. He also collected his 13th RBI and raised his season average to .299.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 3/13, 3:06 PM CT
Kevin Millar was 1-for-3 with an RBI in Toronto's victory over the Rays Friday. He is hitting .313 with seven runs batted in this spring.

Our View: Millar is having a fine preseason so far and should be able to accrue a decent number of at-bats at DH and in spot starts at first if he makes the team out of spring training.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 3/7, 3:50 PM CT
Kevin Millar was 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the Blue Jays' 7-2 win over the Reds on Saturday. He started at first base.

Our View: Millar should make his way onto this roster and he could see a lot of action at DH, especially if one of the fielders spends any time on the DL. He is 4-for-11 this spring with two home runs and a double.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 2/25, 5:07 PM CT
Kevin Millar got the start at first base for the Blue Jays on Wednesday. He was 0-for-1 with a walk.

Our View: Lyle Overbay is recovering from his third hernia surgery, but he will likely be the starting first baseman. Millar is on a minor-league deal, but should have a good chance at making the roster.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 2/11, 4:17 PM CT
Kevin Millar has inked a minor league deal with the Blue Jays, according to Toronto's official site. The contract includes an invite to major league spring training.

Our View: Millar is certainly making his rounds in the American League East, previously spending three-year stints with both the Orioles and Red Sox. He hit 20 home runs last year to go with 72 RBI, so he still has some power left, but his .234 average makes him a bottom of the order type player if he can break into the starting lineup.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 2/5, 8:58 AM CT
Kevin Millar is nearing a deal with the Blue Jays, according to the NY Post.

Our View: The Jays are in the market for a right-handed bat off the bench, and Millar will be a good choice as he crushed 20 homers with 72 RBI with Baltimore in 2008. The Rangers and Nationals were also interested in Millar.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 2/2, 11:42 AM CT
The Blue Jays may be interested in free agent first baseman Kevin Millar, MLB.com reports.

Our View: Millar makes sense for the Blue Jays. They projected to start Lyle Overbay at first base and Adam Lind at DH, and both of those guys swing from the left side. Millar would offer a right-handed option for both spots.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 1/30, 7:00 AM CT
Kevin Millar will not be offered a contract to remain with the Orioles, according to the Baltimore Sun. Millar is surprised and said, "Yeah, the bottom line is, obviously, they want to go in a different direction. Now, what that means, I do not know. Are they going to win games this year? No. Obviously we know that going in. You have got to be realistic."

Our View: The Phillies and Pirates are known to be interested in Millar as a right-handed bat for the bench. He only held a .234 batting average in 2008, but hit 20 homers with 72 RBI.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 1/27, 6:59 AM CT
Kevin Millar is on the Phillies' radar, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The club covets a right-handed bat, and insurance for Pedro Feliz and Chase Utley, who are both coming off surgeries. Millar crushed 20 homers last season in Baltimore, with 72 RBI and 73 runs scored. His fantasy value would be limited as a reserve in Philadelphia, but would be a solid addition to the club.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 1/11, 8:19 PM CT
Kevin Millar would only be a last option for the Baltimore Orioles, and the team would sign him if they can not find a better solution, according to MASNsports.com.

Our View: Millar is mostly known for being a part of the Red Sox, but has spent a number of nondescript years in Baltimore. He's not a fantasy option for anybody, and isn't likely to be a regular no matter where he signs.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 12/8, 12:37 AM CT
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Pirates have some interest in free-agent Kevin Millar.

Our View: He had a down year with the Baltimore Orioles with a .234 average, but still had 20 home runs and 72 RBIs in 531 at-bats.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 9/8, 9:03 AM CT
Kevin Millar is facing free agency in the off-season and has decided he would like to remain with the Orioles, according to the Baltimore Sun. He said, "Truthfully speaking, I want to be here. I feel like everything is going in the right direction. I enjoy the tough times when you are rebuilding, revamping. I enjoy those times because when you see a team turn the corner, it is pretty neat."

Our View: Millar only holds a .243 batting average, but chipped in 24 doubles, 20 homers, and 71 RBI. He would like to return in 2009, but the Orioles are expected to take a shot at first baseman Mark Teixeira and other players on the market before deciding Millar's future with the team.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 8/8, 9:29 PM CT
Kevin Millar went deep twice on Friday night as he knocked in three runs for the Orioles.

Our View: Millar continues to provide value in AL-only leagues with the power (18 HR, 59 RBI), even if the average is sub par (.248). He'll likely continue to produce at these levels over the remainder of the year.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 7/28, 10:19 PM CT
Kevin Millar was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and two runs scored on Monday night.

Our View: Like many Orioles hitters, Milar feasted on a Yankees staff, led by Mike Mussina, that didn't have much tonight. Millar gets on base and has produced better numbers than his .245 average would indicate.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 7/6, 7:29 PM CT
Kevin Millar went 4-for-4, including a solo home run, in Sunday's 11-10 loss to the Rangers.

Our View: The home run was his 12th this season. Millar can be very streaky and this could be the start of something larger.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 6/18, 9:28 PM CT
Kevin Millar singled in the game-winning run in the 10th inning, and the Baltimore Orioles handed the Houston Astros their seventh straight loss, 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Our View: Millar appears to be fully recovered from a bruised left knee that limited this past weekend.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 6/13, 3:48 PM CT
Kevin Millar is nursing a bruised left knee and is walking with a slight limp but is still expected to serve as DH in Friday's game against the Pirates, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: He is only hitting .249 but blasted 11 homers and collected 34 RBI over 65 games, with 36 runs scored. Three of his home runs have been recorded in June.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 6/12, 6:30 PM CT
Kevin Millar was forced from the Orioles and Red Sox game on Thursday with a left knee contusion, according to the Associated Press. X-rays were negative and he is being listed as day-to-day.

Our View: Oscar Salazar entered the lineup though Millar's presence will be sorely missed if he is out for any length of time, both for his attitude and recent performance on the field that includes three home runs and nine RBI in his last 10 games.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 6/1, 11:00 AM CT
Kevin Millar is dealing with a strained right hamstring and bruised left shin, but he doesn't want to take time off. "He's the manager, but I'll resist it if it's because of the hamstring," Millar tells the Baltimore Sun. "I'm 100 percent fine. Dave (Trembley) knows I'm 100 percent fine." The veteran admits he hasn't been able to run at full speed since straining his hamstring about 10 days ago.

Our View: Millar's game isn't at all about speed, and he hasn't suffered too much at the dish. We won't be surprised if he's out of the lineup a little bit in the near future, though.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 5/27, 11:41 PM CT
It wasn't easy, but Baltimore used every bit of 11 innings, including topping the Yanks' run with two of their own in the bottom of the 11th, to emerge 10-9 for the win. Baltimore first baseman Kevin Millar was the force of offensive reckoning for the O's, going 3-for-5 with a walk at the dish, hitting his fifth double of the season as well as two home runs on the night, totaling three RBIs and two runs scored.

Our View: These are Millar's first homers since May 20th, but he now carries 13 RBIs for the month of May.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 5/10, 11:40 PM CT
The Baltimore Orioles continue to surprise, tonight pulling a 6-5 win over the Kansas Royals. 1B Kevin Millar was the weapon of choice in the victory, going 3-for-4 at the plate with his fifth home run of the season to total three RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Millar's home run is the first of the month after hitting four through April.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 4/14, 9:19 PM CT
Kevin Millar went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in Monday's win over the Blue Jays.

Our View: The veteran nearly doubled his RBI total for the year. Millar remains a useful player in AL-only formats, but he's not much of a mixed league asset.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 4/5, 8:11 AM CT
Kevin Millar seems to be enjoying the clean-up spot in the batting order for Baltimore. In last night's 7-4 win over Seattle, Millar hit 3-for-4 with his first home run of the season, registering two runs scored and bringing his season batting average to .417.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 3/31, 4:57 PM CT
Kevin Millar recorded two RBI in the Orioles home opening loss to the Rays. The veteran right-hander hit in the clean up spot for the O's.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysMonday 3/24, 11:18 AM CT
Kevin Millar , who was beaned during Friday's spring game, took batting practice Monday morning and swung without any restrictions, notes the Baltimore Sun. He'll play tomorrow and Wednesday according to the report, and manager Dave Trembley hopes to get nine innings out of him on both days. Millar remains an AL-only option in deep formats, at best.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 3/21, 2:50 PM CT
The beaning Kevin Millar received Friday apparently wasn't too serious. X-ray's didn't reveal any breaks, and he expects to be back in the lineup in two days, if not sooner, according to the Baltimore Sun. Millar is likely to bat cleanup for the O's and this minor setback shouldn't affect those plans.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 3/21, 2:25 PM CT
Kevin Millar exited Friday's game in the fifth inning after getting plunked on the left hand, according to the Baltimore Sun. Millar was in obvious pain, leaping in the air and pacing in circles. This news comes on the same day that manager Dave Trembley said Millar is likely to be the team's cleanup hitter this season. Scott Moore and Mike Constanzo would be the most likely candidate to fill in should Millar have to miss significant time.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 3/21, 10:53 AM CT
Kevin Millar could be batting cleanup for the Orioles on opening day. "If I had to write the lineup out tomorrow, Millar would be the cleanup hitter to start the season," manager Dave Trembley said in the Washington Post. "That doesn't mean he'll stay there, but to start the season, that's what I'll probably do." Millar doesn't have the typical power of a cleanup hitter, but at the very least he would serve as a right-handed buffer between the left-handed bats of Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 3/19, 10:24 AM CT
Kevin Millar will be in the lineup on Wednesday despite a sore right elbow that required icing in the morning, the Baltimore Sun reports. The ailment was chalked up as typical spring aches and pains.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 3/8, 5:40 PM CT
Kevin Millar went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a sacrifice fly in Baltimore’s 1-4 loss to the Mets in the Grapefruit League today. Millar is battling with Aubrey Huff (who did not play today) to retain the starting 1B job in Baltimore. Outings such as this help the cause and could put Millar in the driver’s seat.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 9/8, 6:49 AM CT
Kevin Millar will be back with the Orioles next season. On Friday, he reached 475 plate appearances, which triggered a $2.75 million vesting option for 2008. Millar is hitting .259 with 15 homers for Baltimore this season.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 8/16, 6:15 AM CT
Kevin Millar had a walk in five plate appearances Wednesday and has now reached base in 44 straight games. Millar isn't having a dynamic year by any means, but his .825 OPS is his highest since 2004.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 5/1, 8:53 AM CT
Kevin Millar, who was not in the starting lineup for the fifth time in the past eight games on Monday night, is getting frustrated with his lack of playing time, according to the Baltimore Sun. "It's getting there," said Millar. "I am just going to be patient at this time and let things play out. It always works out. But it's been frustrating. We've been losing a lot. We were playing good as a group and then we got in a tough spell as a team. Personally, you just wait your turn now. In 65 at-bats this year, Millar is hitting .231 with two homers and seven RBI.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 4/5, 4:49 AM CT
Kevin Millar was given a routine day off Wednesday, the Orioles official site reports. Millar's still trying to find his swing; he was 4-for-45 in spring training, and he's 0-for-8 in the opening week.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 3/17, 8:47 AM CT
Kevin Millar is expected to return today for the split-squad game in Jupiter, according to the Baltimore Sun. He's been sidelined due to a strained muscle in his right forearm.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 3/13, 7:31 AM CT
Kevin Millar admitted yesterday that he might not return to action until the end of the week due to the strained muscle in his right forearm, according to the Baltimore Sun. "The main thing is it's March 12," he said. "If it was April 5, you'd be out there and roll with it. But you want to calm this thing down so it's not lingering."
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSunday 3/11, 6:51 AM CT
The good news is that Kevin Millar won't miss today's spring game due to his bruised left foot. The bad news is that a sore right forearm will keep him out of the mix again, according to the Baltimore Sun. "We want to get everything calmed down, so we'll give him a couple days and then shoot him back in there," manager Sam Perlozzo said.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysFriday 3/9, 12:49 PM CT
Kevin Millar might not play again until Saturday because of a bruised left foot suffered in Wednesday's game, the Baltimore Sun reports. The injury is not considered to be serious.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 12/2, 8:48 PM CT
Kevin Millar officially re-signed with the Orioles on Saturday, agreeing to a one-year $2.75 million contract with an option for 2008, according to the AP. Millar hit .272 with 15 home runs and 64 RBI in 132 games last season with the Orioles.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysWednesday 11/29, 10:12 AM CT
The Orioles and Kevin Millar now have a verbal agreement, according to the Baltimore Sun. The deal is for one year with a vesting option based on plate appearances. "I don't know what they are thinking, but I know I am signed to play and I expect to play," said Millar, who hopes to play every day at either first base or DH.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysTuesday 11/28, 10:59 AM CT
The Orioles have a one-year deal to Kevin Millar on the table, according to the Baltimore Sun. However, Millar is seeking a two-year deal. It's possible the two sides could bridge the gap with a one-year deal with an option year included.
Kevin Millar, 1B, Toronto Blue JaysThursday 8/10, 6:34 AM CT
In the midst of an 0-for-21 slump, Kevin Millar hasn't started the past two games, according to the Baltimore Sun. "There are no excuses," he said. "I have to find a way to put good [at-bats] together, period. I just have to find the groove because these are not fun times. But the one thing I am not going to do is feel sorry for myself."
